"Shaman Dave" is a Vegetalista and Shipibo Maestro. For those who don’t know, the Shipibo People are an indigenous tribe living in the Amazon Rain Forest in Peru, well known for their use of the plant medicine ayahuasca. In this episode, Dave talks about his life as a shaman, what drew him to work with plant medicine, and why he recently decided to retire. I had the chance to sit in ceremony with Dave on nine different occasions and I can say they were some of the most intense, healing, and expansive experiences of my life. So it was fun and fascinating to talk to him about his experiences as a facilitator of these ceremonies, and how he thinks about and approaches this powerful healing work.
