And it's the four pluck out on afternoon drop. As always, you can listen to this show and all of our local shows on the fan on Apple podcast, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. Pete Futek, college football news, coming up in about 20 minutes time, Ohio State, Texas. Where's the lean? That's what I want to know. And who has more pressure on them, Julian Sain or archmaning, but how would you have the lead coming up at six o'clock or five o'clock? And then at six o'clock, Michael Markcatch with lock it in. We're going to try something new there. But we do have an update. You're telling me we have an update on these Shedore Sanders clearance jerseys. Yeah. So, okay. So I guess we'll set the scene for people just joining us, right? But now we're in a half ago. We were debating whether or not Shedore Sanders is jerseys being clearance meant anything. People are wondering 39, 99. Is it mean he's going to be traded? Is it mean he's going to be re-reintheir? At least treatment. We argued, argued extensively about that. Clotheier text me the Google, sorry, the double eye emoji there.

Fanatics has gotten rid of their clearance of Shedore Sanders jerseys. Oh, this is this. The jerseys are back to 149.99. And now they look so guilty on this. At least like I was always positing the idea that it's like a, it's a rush to football type of sale. It says in fine print right here, offer expires tonight at midnight. And so it's like, all right, short burst. You got too much inventory. You got to, it's fine. You got to do what you got to do. Well, I, what happened though, where now fanatics is having to raise the program, move the clearance fanatics realized they jumped the gun. Did they sell too many? Do they sell too many jerseys? I think I might have sold too many jerseys. They tipped their hand that Shedore's getting traded or cut. I think too many people bought Shedore Sanders jerseys at 40 bucks a piece. And then they're like, well, hold on a second. We can't give these things away. No, I think it's the opposite. I think they realized they could have endangered their relationship with the NFL by putting news out there that's not ready for publication. And, and this is the guiltiest move in the, oh, you see those discounted jerseys, those clearance jerseys.

This is the oldest trick in the book. Oh, nothing to see here. I think somebody hiding somebody higher up was like, we don't discount the Shedore jerseys. We discount everything. We don't discount the Shedore jerseys. The Miles Garret jerseys, what I said, not the Shedore Sanders jerseys. I think, I think someone high up said you guys aren't supposed to know that yet. We're not, that's not, that's not hitting until later this week or maybe even next week. They jumped the gun on this story by five or six days. That's what this is. Five or six days. The most, the most, the most obvious thing you can do is if there's no, hey, we got to cover it up. Oh, hey, look, we switched it back. Oh, that was an error. Oh, was the intern going full Miami heat on this one. I've never been more certain. I'm terrified. You know, I want Shedore to start. And if they do, the, the Browns do this. If they, if they're letting people know that Shedore's not a long time or in Cleveland, I will not be happy. I need the polygraph. You're just lying. You're lying like a Persian rug right now. I mean, listen, I thought you did a good job of trying to spin. Well, I, I thought you did a great job of trying to spin this because you don't want to

confront the idea. Shedore could be a short time. I was obvious. I mean, the whole thing has been obvious the entire time. Somebody of an addict said a lot of inventory. They wanted to get rid of the inventory. How maybe even in the hour 15, they're like, all right, we got it, Shedore fans. We sold what we needed to back to full price, but they're back to full price. I hope a lot of people took advantage of the discount of price while it lasted. They, they, it'll be again in maybe five to six days if something happens here. Some of the keep an eye on again, the Jersey market never lost. It's not anything to keep an eye on. That's a big expression that everyone says in the clothing your business. I know because my clothing your guy said the emojis. Yeah, your guy that happens to shop in online clothing retailers. That's your clothing guy. I A's very connected in the community over there. Not connected at all. And you, again, you don't know my guy and I'm not going to give up my source. I'm fairly confident. I know you're quite frankly. I get it. You're going to stay in denial and that's what I love about you. You're that loyal to Shedore. That's not what he didn't sup you. He sucked me. That's not what that is. I get it. I get it. You're playing the game and I appreciate that about you. We are back to full price. Yeah. We're back to full price. They, they're on to it.

They realize they let it out of the waters are back to be in home. There is nothing to freak out about people. There's nothing to be concerned about. Not that there was anything to be concerned or freaked out about to begin with. The waters are calm. The waters are calm. The prices are back to normal. I can't tell it on yourself. Everything is a okay. I believe that you believe that or that you want to believe that Pete Futek have it up in about 15 minutes time. All this being said, I feel like one of the, listen, let's be clear here. The Browns Jacks game in every publication, every podcast that I'm seeing is getting the least amount of time in week one. The NFL Daily podcast, it was like two minutes at the end of the podcast. Ross Tucker, there was a whole chapter. It looked like a five minute chapter. This is what five minutes look like. It's a better. It's a better. And it was like 30 seconds. I mean, I think it is the largest spread of week one. If it's not the largest, it's got to be the second. I thought it was the second largest. There was somebody who had a bigger line.

I thought the point is is that sometimes like, like people brought up earlier today, we're talking about like how week one is such a mystery and how week one you get all sorts of wacky results. And last year, the Patriots and the Raiders, the Raiders actually beat the Patriots. And it's like, yeah, go look at that spread though. That was a three point spread. Well, I think about it. The Raiders and the Patriots last year, week one was three points. Most books don't know what to do with the team when the season is getting ready to go. And the idea that you'd have it at eight and a half means they have a pretty strong feeling about how this is going to go. I mean, it started at seven and a half, but I just think the money, I think the money is pushed it to because no, I don't think anyone's betting on the browns. I think the money is pushing the Jacksonville. They're trying to, well, they're trying to bait the public into betting on the browns. And the betting, the betting, no, the betting public is not biting right now. Maybe, maybe you're, maybe you're going to bite, but the betting public isn't biting right now. That's why it keeps going up and they keep giving you more points if you want to bet on your brownies. I would, if I was a browns fan and you're thinking about betting on this game, it's very reasonable to wait until Sunday at like 1255 before you go and place any bets.

But you and I have talked about and kind of tracked the narratives on this game or the narratives about the browns. And I think it's really been interesting here in the last week. I've heard more browns defensive concerns than I did the entire off season. I mean, even I posted a clip of you and I doing the Jared verse, Bill's potential, like what, what, what would you rather have taken for Miles Garrett? Yeah. I was blown away because I have not heard anyone have Jared verse doubt and the first three comments on my Nick doc and Nick Wilson says were, I don't think Jared versus that good. Oh, I rather with three first because I think Jared versus overrated. And I do think this is an emerging thing. Like I think I, listen, you want to be, they've always worried about his sack production and whether or not it's going to be the greatest thing you've ever seen. I would argue that I were, I, I focus more on his pressures and his quick hits. And that's where he tends to shine. You're focusing just on the sacks.

You're not going to get the full picture. But I just think like the, the, the doubters about the browns defense and I did hear this after I called in about an hour and a half after I called in. They waited to have their response to me about an hour and a half after I called it in the morning boys of the idea of, well, but what if the defense takes a step back? And it's just interesting. Again, I'm not saying that Jared versus the player that Miles Garrett is. And you know how much I love to gym shorts. How furious I was that they led gym shorts that they bungled the gym shorts side of this. Sure. And I also don't buy a hundred percent that old Rudy there isn't going to try and put his own spin on the defense. That's what coaches do in the NFL. They want to make it there so they can take the credit for it. It makes sense that he's going to make some changes on this defense. But this idea that the only reason this defense had success was Miles Garrett and Jim Schwartz is wildly wrong. I get national people don't really maybe pay as much attention to Carson Swaychinger and Denzel Ward, Grant Delpick with a breakout. They know who that are. The Browns have pro bowlers at three levels of the defense.

Like there's an understanding I think that exists there. It's just I think the difference here Nick is that I think the expectation if you think they're going to be last year, they were number five in defensive EPA. I think people are saying that's not that that's a part that's not going to happen again. Now, it could be top five in defensive EPA. But if you're around, I don't know, nine, 10, 11, 12, that's not the biggest drop off and that's not the biggest worry. I just think I just think the Miles Garrett discourse and Miles, by the way, is getting an incredible glow up. He's got to count for something. I mean, he is just he just recently was named the number one player in the NFL. He does, but again, they replaced him with another guy who again, if you look at QB hits and if you look at pressures is also a top 10 edge pressure. And I understand there is a gap between Miles and Jared verse, but my Jared's also still an ascending player. So that is a gap that even though I don't think Jared verse over comes it, he can close that gap significantly going into year three. And so I listen, if you want to say I just there's too many ifs on offense, I get it

100%. I get that I'm saying to me, it's all about the offensive line. The offensive line comes out and is jailed or is close to jelling early. I think that's going to be a huge head start on having a functional offense, but I'm saying the ifs at every level on the offense. And I that's where I am being a little polyanna. All right. I'm comparing it to last year's offense, which is non functional, but I get that the defense. I just again, like I feel like it's just while Miles Garrett and Jim Schwartz left town, so did the Brown's defensive relevance. And I just think that's I think people have gone too far on it after hearing enough, and including our guy, we'll talk around his podcast. Yeah, I mean, if that's the case, then yeah, I suggest people went a little bit too far, but I've had part of my my feelings about this season baked into that idea that there's just not going to be a top five defensive team next year. That's just that's just not going to happen. It's but it should they live in the top 10 area. Yeah, they should now. What a ross say. Uh, oh, basically he just thinks they are going to fall out of the top 10. Yeah, I mean, and again, I can how far are we talking here as well as the other components

this? Cause I can't find too many people that think they're just going to be, they're going to be a bad defense. I think most people believe it's going to be the calling card of this Brown's team is still going to have to be the defensive side of the ball. There still is again talent in every level of that defense. So you're ready for what I threw out there at Nick Wilson says on Twitter earlier today? Sure. Let's hear it. Cause I do think it's still a little more skewed than I thought it would be, but I think this is an interesting question to ask. So what's more likely for the Browns in 2026, the defense falls out of the top 10 or the offense leaps out of the bottom 10 and mind you, it's not hard to not be a bottom 10 offense in the NFL. Well, you can make an argument that the Browns already last year were outside of the top 10 scoring defense, scoring defense. They were I think 12th or 13th in the NFL. So are we talking EPA? Are we talking when what measurement are we talking? Is the broadest, the broad defensive power rankings when this is all said into what's your favorite measurement? You really want to know I do. You really want you really want to know say the insane say what?

What? Oh, come on. You're not going to out freak this freak. Okay. So what's your favorite measurement? No, no, no. I I P A. I guess what's you? Let's do EPA. So when I bring up the most and talking positively about the Browns defense, I guess we have to go wait. So is that the is it? Are we doing top 10 defensive EPA next year? Yes. I think as much as I don't like EPA when it comes to the offensive side of the ball, I think defensively for this conversation, I think it more than applies. And really it's individual stuff with EPA, but we don't have to go down that road. I feel like them existing in the top 10 that there's a yeah, that I don't think that I'm that's not the expectation I even have for them. So it's not even like will the offense get to be out of the top 10 or will the defense fall out of the top 10? My expectation is for the defense to already be 10 to 15 in defense of EPA when it's all side of done. 216, 474, 0092. I told you by the way, not a wild insult to the defense. If you're a top 10 defense EPA, that's still an impressive thing. I feel wildly insulted. I know. I don't know why you're looking at it in that sort of way. If you have even a middle of the road defense, is it still a very formidable defense and one that you can do a lot with?

What about scoring defense? Scoring defense again can be can be can be different because as evidence, but I want to say if I can change your result here, that's what I'm saying. Scoring defense, scoring offense. That's more likely the Browns fall out of the top 10 of scoring defenses or the Browns offense. They already were out of the top 10 and scoring defenses last year. So I'm standing back to the top 10. I know I don't get it. I don't get it. I'm being difficult. I'm being difficult. Not really. I just didn't understand it. Vote. Atnik Wilson says defensive step back or an offensive step forward. What is more likely? Keep few tech college football news. We'll talk pressure on Ohio State and Texas coming up in five minutes on 92 through the fan.
