Welcome to Seeking Alphas Wall Street Lunch, our afternoon update on today's market action, news and analysis. Good afternoon, today is Monday, September 14th, and I'm your host, Kim Khan. Our top story so far. At least we may get flying cars before AI kills us all. Tesla has an October 1st event schedule that is expected to be a public unveiling or major update for the long delayed second-generation Roadster. The event is expected to take place at SpaceX's Test Facility in McGregor, Texas. The EV makers not release the final price, production timetable, or customer delivery dates for the long-awaited Roadster. According to reports, the event's most anticipated feature is a possible demonstration of a Roadster using SpaceX-derived cold gas thrusters. Tesla's go-for-launch teaser and years of statements from Elon Musk have fueled expectations that the car could briefly lift or hover. Cold gas thrusters would use pressurized gas to create short bursts of force rather than conventional combustion rockets.

Among active stocks, Netflix's higher after Evercore ISI raised its price target on the streaming platform to $1.10 from $100 while reiterating its outperform rating. Evercore cited improving trends in the US and Japan surveys along with opportunities from live events and short-form content. Corning is tumbling after announcing an entered into an equity distribution agreement with Goldman to sell up to $2 billion in shares in an at-the-market equity offering, and hedgehog recommends going long-sea-limited and short-maccato-liberate in a pear trade. We believe TikTok Shop is increasingly shifting investment toward Brazil, where melee investors may be underestimating the competitive threat, and what Felix Wang said. For SC, a more selective TikTok strategy in Southeast Asia could actively relieve pressure and support Shop E margin upside. If you're looking for more insight on individual issues, join our head of quant, Steve Cress, as he dissects the news from a stock-specific quant perspective every morning around market open, with renaissance on TikTok, X, and YouTube. We'll create it at Cress Top Stocks, one word, CRESS.

In other news of note, anthropic is still likely to go public this year, despite CEO Dario Amode's recent warning that the broader artificial intelligence sector needs to slow down Axios reported. Recent media reports suggest the AI frontier lab has picked the NASDAQ as its exchange to list shares with an IPO coming as soon as next month, andthropy is also reportedly tapped to Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs to help lead the offering, which could see it raise as much as $100 billion. And in the Wall Street Research Corner, the Goldman Sachs equity team has rebalanced its long-duration basket amid rising interest rates. Equities usually struggle to digest sharp increases in interest rates, with long-duration growth stocks disproportionately hurt by rising discount rates. Among the names are Coca-Cola, Draft Kings, Echo Star, Moderna, and Snowflake. See the full basket in our story on Seeking Alpha? That link will be in show notes.
