Hi, my name's Kramer, and I am proud to admit that I am a Mama's Boy. You're not just any Mama's Boy, you're a certified Mama's Boy. And this is the Certified Mama's Boy podcast. Hi, Mom. Hi, honey. I don't know if I really want this to be the Kramer show. I'll be honest. Thinking twice about this. Having second thoughts, having deeper grits about this, this is a screaming show situation. It's a lot of work, man. It's a lot of work. It's been a busy couple of weeks. Does it say the least? By now, everyone knows that Jess left. It's been a smidge chaotic around the radio station, as you can imagine. I don't really know how to describe, but it feels like when you break up with your
co-host, it's a really weird... It's kind of like a very amicable, comable divorce, I guess. Everyone says divorce is amicable, right? People say that. It just feels like... I don't even know what this is. Because people come to you and they talk to you like it is a divorce, right? You're already going through the loss of the work part, and then there's the loss of the friendship. Everyone else is also like, oh my God, I'm so sorry. So obviously you're having to talk to everybody about it. And then you're having to sort everything out. It does feel like a divorce. Honestly, it does feel like there's very similar feelings as rebuilding your life after a divorce. I'm like, okay, I kind of like rebuild this. I got to rebuild that. When we were building everything out for the new show and getting new logos built out
and new bits built out, what's this going to look like? Changing names. Changing the name. It felt there were many parts of this. It felt weird because I've done this for so long with Jess where it's almost like, yeah, but she's supposed to be here. This is just where she's supposed to be. It's been really weird sensations to go through in this process. I, everyone, you know, keeps asking what the plan is. And I still, as of right now, I can tell you there is, there literally still is no plan. This week we have Frank Skie on the show. And for all the Atlanta people, that name should ring, I mean, Atlanta and Baltimore people, especially for me though, it was really cool because Frank Skie was a very popular Atlanta radio show host.
And they also very popular here in Baltimore. He was in Baltimore right before he came to Atlanta. And the idea of this concept that kind of came out up with, we were debating like, do we get one temporary co-host to come in and kind of co-host the show with me? And I was like, well, what did we just sort of bring in back people that were on the air and here, you know, here in the city? And I was like, well, Frank Skie was such a big name here. I was like, there's no way Frank Skie. I was like massive. I mean, still is like a massive deal. And I mean, he was kind of syndicated radio show, which does podcast now, but he's also like a big time, like music guy too. And I was like, there's no way he's going to go in this hodonk. Cramer show. Cramer show. Like this guy, you know what I mean? There's no way. There's no way. There's this Cramer. You know, there's no way he's going to say yes to this. There's just no way he's going to come on this shitty radio show, especially in this
transition. There's no way. But due to greed to come on. And so today is Monday, when we're recording this, he was on this morning and he's just, he's a blast man. He's a super nice guy. In case you don't know what he's like, he's been super nice, been super fun. We've just been chatting radio behind the scenes and very, very generous. Just a super nice guy. So it's been, it's been fun to have him on and just as someone that, well, he was one of my shows I've listened to growing up in high school. So it's just kind of fun to listen to him and have him on at the same time. And it'd be, I don't know how to like put that into any of their, you know, you know, I had no idea. You had a parent. You had a parent that like what you do now. I had no idea why I used to listen to him in high school that like one day I'd have him on my show. You show. Uh-huh. You know, it's like so surreal in so many different ways that like all I wanted to do when I was a kid was to be on the radio, right?
Right. And so it's kind of surreal that like this guy that I listened to is now on my show. It's a really, it's like kind of messes with me in so many different ways. And I'm like, that's so crazy out all just kind of came together. So that's been, it's been really fun to, uh, to have him on this week. But I'll, I'll be 100% honest with you. Um, I, uh, it's been a hard week. Uh, it's been a really tough week. Um, you know, I think the, I'm trying to hold it together the best I can for, um, everybody. But it's, it's been a challenge, man. Um, it's just, first off, it's a lot of work. Just one, I'm exhausted. Um, and there's a lot of balls in the air, obviously with managing the show. Um, and then there's obviously a lot of us also trying to manage who we're going to have
on as, you know, when you have, like these big ideas, of bringing on all these people that were on in the past, then you have to wrangle all these people up. So that was like another kind of project that we were kind of working on by the scenes. That, that's gotten a little bit easier now. We've got people lined up. Um, then, you know, there's not having your person there, right? Like I'm dealing with that. And then we're trying to find a brand new person. And, uh, I mean, last week almost felt like impossible to get through. I mean, it was, you know, we always talk about, well, just, just the weekend general, just the weekend general, we felt very much like, I think I'm going very much through, like an imposter syndrome right now, where I'm trying to keep a smile on my face.
Um, but I'm, I'm scared. I mean, I'm, I'm not, I'm not, I'm scared. But I, there's, it's tough. It's tough because I just don't know how this is all going to come together. I don't have a plan right now. And that really makes me anxious for as well as the show has done. Um, and feeling like all that pressure is on my back to make sure this is all going to get done correctly. You know, like we're back in school. The show is doing well. We've built up this really good community. And I don't have a plan as of right now. Um, and that comes with an unmassive amount of stress, uh, trying to juggle all those pieces.
And then it's like, oh, by the way, um, the show is you. You might still be. And I, by the way, um, if anyone's going to be mad about it, it's going to be, uh, they're coming after you because the show is now under your name. So good luck. Fly, fly free. So throwing the deep end out there and let's see how you, how you do out there by yourself. Um, so yeah, I don't know. I'm not, I'm not doing great, but I am trying my best under the circumstances that we have in front of us. We're just, I'm going in. I'm literally trying to set the expectation. We're just going to have fun with what I have in front of me right now. And here's Frank's ski. I brought back Frank and Frank's ski. So no one else is spending about to do that in 30 years. That's fun. There's that. And then next week we've got another guest host, which I think I'd be, the next two weeks, especially, I think people are going to be like,
damn, all right. Like, you did, you did for three weeks in a row. And even week four is like, I got four weeks of guests that people are going to be like, I can stall for four weeks. I've got to move on to stalling. After week four, I don't know. We are back into crisis mode, but I've got four weeks of like, okay. That right. Pretty cool folks. Yeah, after that, I don't know. What's going to happen? And I think we're going to be in trouble after that. So y'all just say a prayer and please apply for the job because we're looking at everybody's crazy. Like, I think people think I'm kidding. When I say that, we've some of our, I think, are top people that we're looking at. I mean, there's definitely some radio people. Some with a lot of experience, some with no experience at all. Not none. Zero. There's just not somebody yet that we are just like,
oh, that's absolutely the person. And but y'all know me. It's like, this is what I fear is like, this is what I've been saying in my dating life for eight years. I feel like we're going to be eight years later in the show. And we're going to be sitting here doing this podcast and I'm back in the y'all. We're still on this this co-host search. We're still on this co-host search. She's been eight years. I just can't find one. No, no, no. I just can't find the one. Because with Jess, it's like, I knew that like she was it. I'm like, okay, Jess is it. Like she, she's got it. Like that's it. Like Miguel, I knew had it, right? Like I knew Miguel had it. Like he's it. There was one girl here that I thought had it. And I reached out to her. And she was a long shot. She, I won't really get into how I knew her.
But she was a little too apprehensive to get into radio. But I was like, yeah, I think you have it. Like I do, there's just some people. I just know have it. And then if you didn't hear, I don't know if you guys listen to the radio show, I guess I swear to you, this is a true story. A woman that I went on two dates with, reached out. And she wanted to apply for the co-host position. Like, yeah, I'm telling you, like it's. No, no, no, no. It's everybody. It's everybody's anybody's game at this point. Like so we'll see. Um, Marcy, you're so sweet. Marcy's on Mama's Boy Live. And y'all can join Mama's Boy Live. Feel free to upgrade to Mama's Boy Live to our, our boy, Leavers, our, um, Mombasseter programs. Any points, you guys can come on Mama's Boy Live. She's so sweet. She says it's hard when you can't see the, um, how this will progress.
Take it one task at a time. You're an amazing storyteller. Thank you. And it's really sweet. Thank you. I'll lean into what you do best. I've seen so many comments and CMB and Maryland have you back. I will say this. And I mean this. I mean this wholeheartedly. I have not seen, and this is not to, to my own horn. I have not seen anything rude about what's happening. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that what is happening is not bad. Okay. That's just means that we have built, that's what I'm saying. We've built a really awesome community. And I'm really proud of that. Because that takes time. That takes time and energy and effort to build. We've built. And what I don't want to do is let that community down. Because I know how hard that has been to build that up. It's scary. It's really scary to introduce somebody new. It's a big, it's a big, big hire. Because this, this group especially.
Okay. A little particular. A little particular about who comes in. All right. I've seen it firsthand. And what I don't want to do is bring in the wrong person and have them go through what we went through. And I just want to make them proud. I want to make sure it's the right fit. So it is a very, very, very, very, very, very, very big decision for me. And I want to make sure that I'm going to be able to do it. And I want to be very, very big decision for me. That I want to make sure is the right decision for everyone involved. And I mean, honestly, too, like, here's the problem. We, you know, Odyssey as a company. Really, I think has given me a lot of respect. And I want to make sure that I do right by them as well. Because they are kind of leaning like I, they give me a lot of rope to get this right as well.
And I know that they'll only give me so much rope a few times. So the first one I get, I get the chance to like, to get it right or wrong. I don't, I won't get that to get it the second time. So unless we just want, you know, Susie from, you know, Bakersfield throw it in there. We got to get it right the first time because we won't, we won't give the chance the second time. So it will just be somebody throwing in there. We just got to figure it out. So that's what I don't want. I want to make sure it's right, you know, the first time. So anyway, that's the latest on the cream or show everybody, which is so funny to say with starting, starting Frank ski, which is also very funny to say. It's a really, very funny. All right, my mom missed half a high rocks. And I don't even know how this is possible. We, this could not, this could not have gone wrong. There was, there's no way to get this wrong. There's not. I just got done with, with, with high rocks in DC. And my mom was here last weekend. And it was okay. We had an okay time.
It wasn't our best time. Honestly, I was sick. I was sick most of the time that she was here. And now you're sick. And it's just, it was, it was, it was the weekend before the, this new show and I was stressing and we were just trying to get things done. It was, it wasn't, I wouldn't say it was our best trip. We tried our best with circumstances. But we, I think the highlight, obviously, one of the reasons why you were up here, though, was you wanted to come see high rocks. And it was, it was on Friday, right before Labor Day. And, you know, last time you weren't here, my mom had completely missed the New York high rocks because we didn't buy tickets. And well, not we didn't buy them, but, but, but, well, we didn't, we didn't get them. Yeah, we couldn't get them. We couldn't get them. And they were sold out. So I was going to give her my tag to wear. And she, they saw me without my tag on. And they were going to squal time. I got busted. I got busted.
And I had to chase her through New York. And it was the whole thing. There's a whole other episode on it. It would take forever to break down. But that's a monster of sources. She couldn't get in to actually watch me. So this time, I was very particular about making sure we got tickets early. And that she was going to be there to be able to watch a high rocks in real life. Right. So this time, I was like, mom, all right. Let's make sure that we got this really straight because I want to make sure that you understand. Now, in case you don't know how a high rocks works, basically it's this picture of this. It's a picture like a, like a track, right? And there's so a track, you know, like a track. A track, a track, a track, a track, a track. Inside of the running track, there are eight different stations. Right. So I was doing this time. I was only doing a relay. So I only had to do two of the stations inside. So there's a group of four of us. And I was only going to do two of the stations. Now my station is where station number three and station number seven. So I told my mom, I was like, listen, we would like walk the whole thing. And I was like, all right. So there's station number one there. There's the station number two there. And the station number three. So I'm going to start here. Right.
So I was like, let's go over here. And you can see this will come out racing right over here. You'll see me come over here. And I'll make sure that I make eye contact with you. It'll probably be around this time. And then after that, I'm going to go to station number three. All right. So station number three is the first time. And then after station number three, it's probably going to be, I mean, we, you know, we, the other teammates have to go to station four and then five and then six. And I'm going to go seven. So it's probably going to be about 20, probably 20 minutes before I'll come back around. So you have plenty of time. And then you get back to the track to see me. Get back around. And then I've got a race around the track. Twice before I get to station number seven. So you'll have, you know, plenty of time. You should all work out great. We walked to station seven. I showed her seven. I'm like, this is seven. They have numbers on them. You know, it's very simplistic. Seven. Okay. So from my perspective, here's what's happening. I'm running right. So here, you know, I finally, so my teammates go one.
Okay. And then two comes back and tags me. I run off. And I see I'm right there. So I'm all right. And I'm running. There's my mom. Okay. Great. Everything's great. I get over my first station, which is a sled pole. And I don't, I'm not actually looking for. Because I'm, I'm back in the back. I'm like, I should get my thing done. So okay, I run back, tag my partner in. And then finally, it's my time to run again. Well, I go back to the track. I'm like, where the hell's my mom? Like, I told her to come back over here. And I'm like, oh, my God. I'm going to go back to the track. I'm like, where the hell's my mom? I told her to come back over here. And I'm like, oh, my God. Like, this is, this is something that's happening. She's lost. Something I, I literally gave her very explicit instructions. Three run seven. Like, that's, that's, that's all it was. Three run seven. Like, you can't, you can't screw this up. So I'm like, all right. So I go, let's give her a run on the track twice. Right. So I'm like, okay. So let me run around again. Maybe I missed her. Run on the track again. I'm not there. I'm like, oh, my God.
So my second station is the lunges. And like, then eventually I see her like coming like flailing over. I'm like, what, what, what, what in the world? Like, what, where, where I could tell something was wrong. So what happened? Because you didn't, you missed half a hierarchy. So like, what, what did you do? I don't know. I got so turned around. I do not know. I feel like practice this. Do you even practice like there? Twice. Here, there. Like here, there, there. That's it. Yes, not once, but twice. We practiced. So I thought I saw you run around once when you didn't see me on the opposite side of the track. And so then when I saw you the second time, which was really the first time, I said, okay, that's two. Okay. I'm going to go to my station. And I went across and I saw lunges, which is number four. And then I saw number three, which was the sled. And somehow in my mind, I said, okay, he did the sled last time.
And he talks about how he hates the lunges, but he's going to do them. So it must be the lunges. And I stood there for like 40 minutes at station four, which is a lunges. I know. I know. Four wasn't lunges. Four was, um, uh, farmers' theories. Oh, well, the life runges. I don't know what it was. Anyway, I was like, okay, this is, uh, this has been way too long. I have four, four is burpees. I think four is burpees. Wasn't it? Yeah, four is burpees. Yeah, four is burpees. So I watched a hundred people go through burpees. Yeah. I saw a steaman. I said, okay, it's been way too long since he ran that track. I have screwed this up somehow. I'm just going to go on down to number seven and wait. And as I was walking, I got to about number six.
And I see you on the other side at the water station running across. And I was like, oh my God, I totally missed the first one. I have no idea how I did that. Yeah. So I got to number seven at about the same time that you did. Yeah, because I was not doing burpees at all. It was not. You were not. No, never talked about burpees one time. No, never talked about number four. No, don't ask me why I got there except that it was past my bedtime. Yeah, that's true. It was the problem. It was right. And it had taken me all day, the day before to get there. Frontier remember my first flight was delayed like two or three hours. But I was hungry. We lit a little break. I was like three and then seven. I was like, I should have written it down for you. Honestly, you're like run twice. Yeah. Go to three. Right. And then run twice. Go to seven. Yeah, I can't screw this up. I can't screw this up. No, I can't. There's no way she can get this wrong.
So we're fine. And I didn't have it. That's all sense. I'm not sure if she's wandering all over high rocks. So I'm also a smidge, a smidge of what I did. Like a very small portion of high rocks again. It wasn't even like that. I do have to say that is wild and crazy though. Yeah, right. Yeah, it is wild and crazy. It was so surprising on so many levels. Yeah. I think the biggest problem was you're taking high rocks. Well, I mean, I enjoyed it. But, you know, until that woman came up and blew the bullhorn in my ear. That was not very nice. I was touched her out. And I was like, I've been waiting here 30 minutes. See my son, you come up here with a bullhorn in my ear. What? You're probably the wrong station anyway. I was at the wrong station. I was at the right. Yeah. It should be in the right. Okay. So, anyway, what the biggest surprise for me was that these are just regular gym athletes. Yeah. I was expecting like bodybuilders because this stuff is hard.
Yeah. It is hard. Yeah. Just people going through midlife crisis. That's it. I mean, really, and truly, I was amazed. One guy on your team is what? Almost 60? I mean, yeah, there's two guys in their 50s on my team. Yeah. And they look great. Yeah. I mean, yeah. Yeah. I like to honestly, it's funny. It's becoming such like a... I don't know, like every man sport, you know? Like, anybody can kind of hop in and try it at least. You know, it's hard. It's definitely hard. But anybody can at least... You can try their best. There's no... It's not really timed per se. You're just going up against your own time. So you can take as long as you need to. It's just... It's hard. It's strengthen endurance, really. Right. I feel like I need to comment on the post that you guys are sending me. A lot of people are sending me this. You know, anytime I say a ton, that means two or three. More than one. Right. More than one. I've told you all that, right? Right. Anytime I say...
Anytime I say a ton. Anytime a radio person says a ton, that means more than one. Uh-huh. There is a story out of... Hyrox Bay Jean was over this weekend. And there was a woman who literally shit herself during the competition. She was in the female pro division. And she literally shit herself. And she didn't want to lose time. So she just kept going. And, you know... So they obviously had to address it because... I mean, it was... It's bad. I mean, you can't... I mean, I... Obviously, it's entered into a lot of your social spheres because... I know a couple of you guys that don't typically talk to me about Hyrox. I mean, this is the thing. So it's like... My office is a lot of my Hyrox friends are sitting to me, but then a lot of you guys... Don't talk about me about Hyrox. So I know it's entered into your sphere as well. Yeah. So she literally like shit herself. And we're like getting shit all over the equipment.
And like... It was like... Yeah, because think about... Like some of the like the row machines. She had like... Oh, yeah. And then like... I was like dripping down her leg. Okay. This is gross. So they had like a dress it. And like the way they addressed it was they were like, hey... Listen, obviously we have to like figure this out. Please don't bully this woman. We don't... And it's like, you know, this woman shit herself. Like... And like that shit all over the course. I think we need to address that. Like we didn't... Yes, no, we don't... Yeah, no one should be bullying her. There's no doubt. But like... Can we address the shit? Can we address the shit all over the equipment? Because like that's... It's not good. It's not good. It's not... What's not shit? Let's not have shit everywhere. Like... No. Like let's just... Let's stop. Let's stop. Let's not... Let's not do it. You know what I mean? Let's not have... Hoop all over the... We're done. All over the equipment, please. So... Yeah, my take is that. My take is... Listen, that's definitely not me. I think you all know me. The mildest inconvenience.
And I will go home. Like, if I had a headache, I'd be out of there. Or if I... I got a blister on my big toe. I even thought about dropping out. Because I was like, no, I don't know if I want to go through this. If I shit myself, are you kidding me? No. Are you kidding me? No. So how do you shit yourself? Like, how... I... Listen. Y'all know me. I'm not that much of an athletic person. Like, I am going home. I'm absolutely 100% going home. As you should. As anyone should. No, like again. I don't even care. Like, I'm trying to think of something I care about. Like, if I was in like the radio hall of fame... Presentation. And I shit myself. I'm going home. Like, I'm just not. I'm not going to do it. So that's my take on the the Iraq situation. Woo. Whenever fall comes back around, it always feels like a fresh start. This year, I've been layering in some styles from the new Lou Leman fall drop. FX's American Horror Story 13. Now streaming on Hulu. All right, certified fans. Thank you so much for your support. We are back after a little hiatus. I just thank you for your support over these. I took my mom out of his next couple weeks. It's gonna be a little dicey.
A little tricky. I don't foresee a break, but don't be, if you hop in and there's not an episode, just one check with me because, or check the, sort of, I fans, check the page. I'll usually let you know if I can't do an episode just because something came up. But if you know, just be a little graceful for the next couple of weeks because, you know, be a little crazy. I think the craziest part too is that there is just, one thing I didn't mention the whole, like, the chaos of everything too, is there's also no one else right now to do all of the, the sales stuff. So, I gotta do all the sales stuff too. Y'all forget, you know, like the second world to show business is business. So, like, I'm having to, like, do a bunch of sales stuff too. So, it's just busy. It's just busy. It's gonna be fine. Y'all's gonna be fine. Everything's gonna be fine. It got Frank's ski everybody.
I feel like it's kind of, it kind of feels like it's a little bit like a diversion a little bit. But it's like, don't, don't notice the mess. Look at all these great people I've brought back, you know, like, it's fine. I get my cool Frank's ski for God's sake. So, me, I've been here in 30 years. This guy's as famous, like, come on. So, come on, relax. Have some fun. This is how some fun. Frank's ski is funny. Come on. We're talking about racial issues. It's fun. Oh my God, it's so funny. Yeah, it is fun. If you don't listen to the podcast, the radio show you should, he is really, he's a really funny guy and a great radio mind too. He's just a really, you do it for God a hundred years at this point. So, he gets it. He's in the radio hall of fame. I mean, he's a, he is, he's the real deal. So, maybe don't listen to the radio show podcast. Just check it out because it is. He is a very talented man at what he does.
Anyway, sort of my fans appreciate your support in the show. We, this, you know, a certified fan is, we have a Thursday show as well. It's called More Mama's Boy. We have that for all of our supporters. All we ask is a six dollar a month contribution to the show. All that goes to production of the show. You could also level up to our, uh, boy leave or our, I always forget the middle plan. Why? Just, I don't say that often. That's why. So it's mom, mom bastard. You can be a mom bastard or the show too. It's a few more bucks a month to get a few more features. It just goes like that. Just a way to support the show. We really appreciate it. Everybody's back, which is great. Listen to ship goes up. That's great. Um, so I'm just, first off, it's good to get right back from the summer break. Even though the leaves are changing, it's weird to me. I'm like, where did the summer go? Um, it's really good. And why can't the, why can't the winner? Has anybody ever said, where did the winter go?
No one that, that phrase has never been uttered once in a history of time. Oh my god. Where did the winter go? I was just getting, getting settled into this shit weather. Like, I turn around. It's already spring. It never, it never goes like that. It's always like, you know, it's always like the summer. It's like, oh my god. Like the summer is over with already. It's like, no, we never said it's February. We're like, why is this still going on? So unfortunately, we don't get the same, that same luxury with, um, with the winter. But it's good to get right back. So thank you for all your support. Go on the show notes. If you'd like to be a supporter, we'd really appreciate that. Like we said, it's, it's, it's like, it's a few bucks a week. It's a, it's like a dollar a week or something like that. A dollar 25 a week. Hopefully that means nothing to you. For us, it actually keeps this podcast going. So we'd really appreciate your support. So thank you for that. We could also have show adoptions. If there's something we can help you celebrate or shout out. Or you just like the show and you want to say hi. That'd be great too. I will have October. My god, October is up.
Uh, sometime this week. So we can, um, we can have, you can start adopting October shows. Um, it's some point this week. I don't know. I don't know. At some point before October, probably about that. I don't want to say this week. It's some point sometime in the next two weeks. And this sometime before the end of October, you'll be able to probably adopt an October date. That's the kind of leeway I want to give myself. Okay. Uh, today's show is adopted by Angela Pee. Oh, Angela Pee, we love you. Um, she says it's just time for me to adopt another episode. It's just time. It's just time. You know, sometimes it's just, it's just time to do it. You know, it's like she's like getting your oil changed or something. She looked down. She's like, it's been so many episodes. And it's just time. It's just time. I don't know. It's just time. It's just time. More so it's just, she tried to adopt the birthday episode. But, um, she said while she was checking out somebody beat her to it. No.
Uh, she could not do that. So I, uh, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll, how about this? We'll take it as a birthday, a birthday one, uh, even though my mom's birthday is next week. So, uh, for my birthday, I thought you met her birthday. No, for your birthday. Oh, Angela, we'll take it as an early birthday one. We'll still count on how about that. Uh, she said, love to the whole fan fan forever from Angela Pee. That's very nice. I love how you guys, you know, I love this community. It's you talk about communities like, um, you know, we've obviously built a really cool community, um, in, uh, here in Maryland. But you guys, I just love how y'all love each other too. It's really cool. Y'all know each other by name. Like, y'all talking to fan page, y'all know each other. Like, I love that. I love that. Cause I think, I think y'all, y'all, I think y'all know each other way better than even like the people that listen to you locally. Um, know each other. Cause y'all be, y'all be talking to other by name and stuff on the Facebook page. You know, know each other. And I don't know. It's really, it's really special to me. So, um, all right. Let's, uh, let's give Angela Pee a whoop whoop.
Okay. An early birthday to mom and Nancy. Thank you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Let me just say thank you to all of you who contributed to my fabulous massage. Yeah. And you will be getting a little love note from me. Just be patient. I'm just asking for the list. The names. Every day. Like, simply name it. Everyone that, uh, that, uh, that, uh, that contributed from massage. I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's definitely on my list. Um, it's on my list. It's on my list. It's on top priority. I can tell. It's just, uh, you know, it's okay. It's on there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, Angela Pee, we love you. Whoop, whoop, whoop. For always being there for us. There you go. Angela Pee. Thank you so much. Mm-hmm. Uh, like I said, we'll have October dates up very soon. Thank you, Angela Pee. Appreciate you. Yeah. Um, so this weekend was my three year anniversary of the assault.
And I wanted to do a quick reflection before we do the, um, ask my mom, okay? So quick summary. In case you weren't here and don't know what's going on, um, I got jumped three years ago. And man, when I think back to how bad that was, it was crazy because I talked to Gina Crash, who I work with about it today. And sometimes I was forget how bad it really was. I mean, it was bad. I mean, it was, I know, I'll just like refresh your memory about how bad that time was. I mean, it was the head injury. It was the dizziness. I was going to the vision therapist. I was, you know, the isolation of it all. I mean, it was bad. Then there was a PTSD. I didn't want to go outside. It was like doctor after doctor after doctor. Like, I, you know, stuck inside like I, you know, getting all that way because I was just sitting around. I couldn't really work out.
I couldn't really walk. Remember, I couldn't like, I'm not going to like walk because I'm going to get some dizzy just walking. I had to like, my, I had to like a couple of times a day. I had to just try to walk back and forth the length of my condo. And like that was like my homework was just trying to do that without getting dizzy. And like that, if I could do that, which I couldn't really do, I mean, it was, that was like just a nightmare. Like just doing that on like a, a busy carpet was, it was, it was a night. There, like I remember walking, being fearful of like walking, I couldn't really go to grocery stores because it was so busy in there. And like all the things on the shelf were so bright. And you remember it was like, it was like so many things that like I over stimulation,
over some, I would drive to work and I get, I'd be nauseous by the time that I get there. I remember it was like, it was like, I had to like wear those glasses and at work every day, like a specific glasses, like dim the lights at work. I mean, it was bad. It was really, really bad. Okay. So that was three years ago. And I think to like, I don't know if I, I don't know if I black it out. I don't know. I don't, I think maybe a little bit because it was so bad. You know, I've obviously done a lot of therapy about it because what I didn't want to do was like to keep it inside of me. I knew that like this was going to be very traumatizing. And I did not want to, it's like have any more hold on me that I knew it was going to have. And so I've been a therapy every two weeks ever since then because it was.
I mean, I, I remember I couldn't really go anywhere without feeling like somebody was about to attack me for, got it probably took me about a year and a half, two years. I would, I would walk with pepper spray everywhere because I was scared that somebody was going to jump me. So yeah, it's been, it's been a really long road to get back to where I am. And I think on the three year anniversary this weekend, I was really kind of reflecting on everything. And I decided this weekend that I'm really kind of like ready for the chapter to be over with because it's been such a really, really shitty chapter. And I think at any point you can kind of decide when you're ready for the chapter to be over, right?
Not that like it's all it's done, right? Like I'm still having to go to the doctor every three months to get this little Botox touched up. I am still taking medicine every single day. You know, it's I still deal with some issues when I'm walking by myself. Still on therapy every two weeks. Still dealing with some of the effects of PTSD. But I think I'm just ready for it to be over with. And I think I'm in a place where like I'm ready for it to be over with. I feel well enough with it where I'm like, okay, like that chapter is done. Like we're we're done with this. Like this is no longer it's like with a lot of things, right? Like for example, the divorce was really tough. I don't think about my divorce at all anymore.
I don't think I'm a my ex-wife anymore unless we're making a joke about her. Mom. So unless you're making a joke about it. Sorry. Yeah. Um, I think you talk about it more than that at this point. Probably. Yeah. But you know what I mean? Like that's and that's what I mean about like closing the chapter where it's like. I mean, well, this effect me to restore my life. I I mean, sure. Sure. I mean, help my divorce still affects me, right? Like, um, kind of like the same thing with what happened in San Diego, like, and how I lost my job there. I eventually had to like turn the page, you know, and I think with the assault, like, I'm ready just to say, okay, like it sucked. It was terrible. And I don't know. Like I'm not sure if I'll ever get to a point where I'm back to normal, but I'm kind
of tired of trying to compare to back to normal. Does that make sense? Mm hmm. I'm kind of tired of like having it be like a forefront of my like story. Mm hmm. And then I'm ready to move on from it. This is your new normal. Yeah. This is just it. This is just who I am. I'm a guy now that just has this underlying dizzy condition. Mm hmm. And it's not that I'm not going to keep working on it, but it's just not going to be. You're not going to give it any more of your life. I'm just not going to I'm ready to move on. I'm ready to move on from it. I'm ready and I have. I mean, think about it. I have. Yes. And I'm probably having the most life I've ever had in my whole entire life. And I got to be honest with you a lot of it's because of the assault. I'm probably more alive than I ever have been because therefore a minute, I didn't know that there would be more to my life. I mean, the assault really did teach me that I mean between COVID and the assault, I
get both of those roots who really big like, oh shit, like you never know. You literally never know like what can happen. So if I want to go to Iceland two days later, guess what? Off you go. I'm going to go to Iceland two days later. And I don't, you know, and I think I also the assault kind of taught me that like it will like there's going to be a way to get out of a hole. Like I did, I did not know, I did not know, I did not know that I would be sitting here talking like this. There are so many days where I'm like my brain is permanently screwed up and I don't know that I'm going to ever get back to a normal life. I don't know, I'm never going to be able to get back to even just walking and not feeling sick. I'm not feeling like, I mean, I don't really know how chronic busyness really had explained
it. It's really hard to explain. But it is all consuming. It is all consuming. It's, it is all consuming. It is, you can't do anything. I mean, you can't, you can't watch anything. You can't walk. You're whole existence just feels off. I mean, it is. I mean, I've been through a lot of things, right? But the chronic busyness is, I mean, I don't know if I'd rather have been like a deep dark depression or have a chronic busyness, honestly. Like, I don't know because the chronic busyness really does, I mean, it takes your whole reality and just like, fucks it up. I mean, you don't, you don't know where you are. I mean, you're just like, everything just feels off.
I mean, it just feels so funky that you're just, you don't want to do anything because you're just like, where am I? Like, you don't feel like you're in, you feel like floating? It's very, it's awful. So I'm very, I'm thankful for how much progress I've made in three years. It's not that I'm going to give up getting, trying to get any better than I am, but it's just not going to be a pain point anymore, you know? So those all my reflections, three years, and thank you guys. Honestly, thank you for your support because I mean, God, you guys had, in dear, I love the prayers, support. Yeah. A lot of you guys have been here through, through all of it. God, we have, we have been through a lot together. Absolutely. We have shared a lot of life. We have shared a lot of life together, man. I mean, you guys have been here through most of the crazy times.
I mean, I can't think of anything with the exception of the divorce. I mean, you all have been here through most of the craziness. I mean, it's a shame I didn't start this podcast when I started, when I started getting divorced because I would be literally through all of it, but you haven't missed much. You haven't missed much. So you're welcome because it's just been mostly a shit show. So it'll ease up eventually. I've been told, but they were very, very, very, very, very, very, very, all right. I'll tell you what, we'll, we'll push off our, ask my mom till Thursday. She's kind of another heavy topic. So I think we've dealt with enough heaviness for today. I'm happy that one. What do you think? The beginning of the week. Yes. For the beginning of our week. I think we tune into the radio show tomorrow and listen to Frank Skien. They all liken it up. I got Frank Skien on everybody. Don't forget who did it. It's me. It's me.
All right. Thank you guys so much. Yeah. We'll be back Thursday and then I don't foresee. I mean, I can't go anywhere for the next. I'm locked in now, man. I can't, I can't be a butt right. So funny. I saw who did I, I was talking to some guy at work today. And he was asking me, he was like, you know, are you taking him? You only, he's like, he was going the best vacation. Where are you going? I can't leave. Like, who, who? Nobody left. Nobody left. Like, I'm, it is, it is me. I am him. Honestly, I was a mom to run you. If you leave, don't find you. Who they know I left? Like, they know my love. I see someone with all the air. Like, they know my love. Like, this is my new comes. And everyone who hells this person, like, they don't know that person. Like, it's me. I am the person. But the next, like, next, like, year, it's me. It's me. So, y'all stuck in me for a while. All right. Thank you all so much. Thank you to our boy, Leavers. Honestly, if you love this show, you, you should either be a boy.
Actually, we're at a boy, Leavers spots right now. You should be thankful for these people right here because without them, we would not be able to produce this podcast. And that should make you sad. Abby's got. Oh, I think that worst person we got on the Abby. Abby's got well between Abby and Dan. I think Abby and Dan get co-host. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And they've got all the dirt. Yeah. Dan's got the most dirt. But Abby's got.
Abby's got an isolated amount of dirt is the problem. You know what I mean? Mm-hmm. And that was like, that was like at home. Like nobody, nobody, your college year shouldn't count.
