Paramount's guidance and a dozen states are selling a lawsuit that aimed to block its 110 billion dollar merger with Warner Brothers Discovery. California Attorney General Rob Bontas' Paramount made several concessions in the deal. Today's settlement paramount is required to move production back to the United States by spending as a floor at least $300 million more each year in domestic production in jobs and economic activity and productions right here in this country.

The settlement removes a major block to closing one of the largest media mergers in history. We'll see two of Hollywood's biggest film studios combined along with two streaming services and two of the largest cable news operations. More Democrats say they plan to vote in person in this November's midterm elections. An NBC News poll of registered Democratic voters found 23% planned to vote by mail compared to 34% at this time in 2024. Some 26% planned to vote in person at an early voting site. That's up 6%. All another 36% say they planned to vote in person on election day. This comes as the Supreme Court has blocked President Trump's latest efforts to restrict mail in voting. After months of preparations, France is set to welcome Pope Leo this week. Michael Casner has details.
