Welcome to the old Tom Moranio Superman show from Boise, Idaho. This is your host, Adam Graham. If you've got a comment for me, go ahead and send it to me. Adamatatamsweb.us. Be sure to cast your vote for the show on podcast alley. Well, we've got something a little bit different for you in this serial. During World War II, as I mentioned last time, superman cereals were kind of hard to come by. However, we've got a partial here, but we've got the end of the partial. Got six parts out of ten, part four, and then parts six through ten. However, with the magic of exposition and summaries of the last episodes, I don't have much doubt that we'll be able to understand what's going on. Plus, I gotta say, I list, start listening to this serial and absolutely fell in love with it. This is just so fun and... and someway is a little bit zany, so... Bear with us. We're gonna be getting to complete cereals after World War II, but with the raindrops of Superman,

radio cereals during World War II, I didn't want to miss one that I thought you might enjoy. The series is called The Space Shell. And in one of the earlier episodes, the gang meets up with an alien, lying a specially fueled Space Shell, and he's willing to give the formula for the fuel to the allies. Unfortunately, he doesn't remember the formula, and he ends up in Perry White's garage with the spaceship. Part of the story that I'll be honest, I don't quite understand myself. But let's slide. And Perry White becomes concerned because he thinks the alien may have a screw loose and it might not have been a good idea to leave young Jimmy Olson with him. Well, that's the setup. Let's go ahead and get into The Space Shell, Part 4. And then on Wednesday, it'll be Part 6. I hope you enjoy it. Hello, I'm Perry. The Super Deletial Stereo presents the Adventures of Superman.

I stood in a spinning glitz, or powerful than a local man. I have a little bit of little abilities to single bow. Up on the side, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's Superman. Yes, it's Superman. Today, as hard can be as you for a big surprise. We'll join him with editor Perry White in a moment. But right now, Dan McCullough has a question for you. That's right, gang. Today I've got a question for you. It's a technical question, so let's see what you can do with it. Which plane has four engines? The Douglas C54 Army Transport or the BotX caliber Navy Transport? Well, actually, that's a trick question because both are four engine planes. But I'm sure it didn't stump you, especially if you've been lucky enough to get models of both these planes in Kellogg's pet packages. Because that sort of information is printed right on the back of each model. You see, there's a really keen colored cardboard plane model, right inside every single package of that super delicious breakfast cereal Kellogg's pet.

Now, there are 14 different models you can get all together. And on the back of each model is a list of valuable pointers about that particular plane. Two of the models you can get are the Douglas C54 and the BotX caliber, which I mentioned earlier. And others are the Russian 118, the British Sunderland Flying Bolt, the British Handley Page Handling, and the Curtis Helldiver. Best of all, gang, you don't have to send in a single penny for any of these planes. Not even a box stop. There's a plane right inside every single pet package. So, gang, be sure your mother gets you a package of those golden, delicious whole wheat flakes tomorrow. And remember the name, pet, B-E-P. Pet is made by Kellogg's in battle creep. And now, the adventures of Superman. As an A-Doar war effort, Polkow, the little man who came from the planet Utopia, has been trying to remember the formula for the secret fuel which powered his space shell. He and Jimmy Olson were studying the shell and headed to Perry White's garage when two armed men appeared.

Certain that the men were dangerous spies, Polkow rushed Jimmy into the space shell, then climbed in after him and folded the turret hatch. Meanwhile, driving to the daily planet with Clark Kent, Perry White became uneasy at having left Jimmy with Polkow, whom he believed was out of his mind. The grey-haired editor insisted on returning to his house with Kent. And as we continue now, having bound the house empty, they are walking up the driveway to the garage. Olson, Polkow, now where do you suppose they are? Let's go there and you're the right, just look inside. Where are you, Olson? Polkow! Well, they're not in the garage, Jimmy. No, but maybe they're not in the house either. No, what they might have done to the drug store, because Polkow's crazy about thought it was. You mean he's crazy, Perry White? No, I don't like it. We shouldn't have left him alone with Jim. I'm worrying. Polkow's perfectly harmless. I don't know. Lots of dangerous maniacs. Look, Polkow isn't a maniac. That's what you'll say. Very fond of Jim. Sure he'll tell him why he's been acting so strange.

He'll be able to all turn out to be nothing but... Hey, look, Jim. What? The space show. What about it? It's gone. Good gone for you. It is gone. The standing right here? Sure, it was. What were... where... Where did it go? I don't know. A great big glass ball like that. Glass, glass. You couldn't move it. Great, super. Take it easy. He had a lot of focus on that. I think it's the army Air Force returner. Maybe he and Jim flew off in it. Oh, not that. They'll kill themselves. I told you, Polkow was crazy. Can't. Don't just stand there. What do I do? I don't know. But do something. Call the Air Force and have them start looking for Jim. Call his partner, Henry. Nobody's heard on Jim. Jim and Polkow didn't fly away in the space. Yeah, they must have. Didn't we leave them right here with a little contraption? That one would have an hour ago. Yes, certainly they must have flown off in it. I tell you it would wait a time. Maybe more. They couldn't have moved it away. We know, but they couldn't fly it away either. Well, why couldn't they? Because the secret fuel that makes the shell fly through space is unknown.

Formula was known only on the planet Utopia, and it was lost when the planet was destroyed. No, Utopia again. At a time like this, when Jim and Polkow were in terrible danger, you got to be funny. Not being frowned. I'll say you're not. It's in the fact remains that the army Air Force and many of our foremost scientists tried to discover the secret fuel for Polkow's space. You only couldn't do it. You can stop worrying about Jim and Polkow flying through space. Then where's the shell? I don't know. And where Jim and Polkow? I don't know that either, but wait a minute. Someone's coming up the driveway. Where? Oh, that's Watson. He takes care of the hover place. Not sure. Hey, maybe he saw... Come on, come on, let's ask him. Oh, Watson. How long has it been? You moved. Polkow? What are you talking about? Did you think... Did you think... They think maybe you moved away. Polkow? You're bad. Hey, come to tell Polkow, he don't forget to give me back snow shop. He borrowed it. Now wait a minute. Hey, a moving van was here, Mr. Swanson? That's right. You're still a little bit ago. Don't you know?

Of course I know. What was a moving van doing here? He only saw a driveway from garage. From this garage? When they come back from hardware store. A sea big, glass ball has gone from garage there. Oh, so that's how the space shell disappears. Someone took it away in the moving van. But who? Something is wrong, Mr. Vape. I don't know. I think so. Now, Swanson, when you saw the moving van. Did you see Jim Olson and Polkow? No. Hey, don't see there. Oh, that's one way to move. Maybe Swanson doesn't know Jim. Sure, I know him, Olson, you know. But they don't see him here. They look for Polkow to get my snow shop over. They look out here and ring bell in your house. Then you'll snoury here somebody here and they come look for Polkow again. I think I'll just get it out. Mr. Swanson, you say you just came from the hardware store? Yeah, Martin's hardware store. Martin, that's right next to the drug store, isn't it? Yeah. What are you driving at, Hamonite? You didn't have to look into the drug store. Did you just want to? Yeah. Hey, stop being drugstore to buy pipe to beck.

And Polkow and Jim weren't there? No. Something terrible's happened to them. No, that's a spell. Where are they? Well, where's that confounded space shell? Who took it away in the moving van? Let's find out. Mr. Swanson, did you happen to know the name on the moving van? That's right. Did you just want to? No, it doesn't seem any. Oh, the drug's gone up quite a little. Because he didn't. That's why. Come along. Come along, where? In your house. Thanks very much, Mr. Swanson. Your bedroom. It makes no trouble now, please. Sure, sure. Go ahead, Swanson. Thanks. We better call the police once. I want to call the office first. The office. Yes, Jim and Polkow might have gone there. Jim was afraid you were going to have Polkow committed to the job. You were going to have Polkow committed to it in Sanatana. That's what I should have done in the parking lot. Oh, he's got Jim in trouble. Now mark my word. You've got no reason to say that. I can see this in my boat. Oh, here, here. We're going the back way. Oh, why did I have to listen to you at most? For the wholesome. I should never have hired Polkow. He's really on. I'll let things go. It's not easy, but not yet fully alarmed. Clark can't follow his peri-white into the house.

But meanwhile, several miles away in an ancient weather-beaten barn on an abandoned farm, a strange scene is taking place. Polkow's round, transparent space shell, in which the little fat rhymes during Jimi Olsen have locked themselves, has been taken from the movie van and set on the ground. As three men stand by outside the shell, Scowley, their leader, heavy-set and swarly, shouts a Jimian Polkow through the smooth, plastic wall of the shell. I'm not sitting here for the last time. Are you going to come out by yourselves or are we going to blast you off? What do you think we ought to do, Polkow? Nothing, friend. What's it getting there every minute? We wait till a pause, I can't fall it out. I bet that no doubt. Well, I don't like that fellow's looks. What do you mean I can't pull it out? I mean what I say, let them bellow away. But I... You know what, you don't want to get rough, do you? The whole we wanted to have a talk with a little fat stuff. What do you want? I know well, the ticket fuel, the power they shall. What you say that's more polkow, and I think you do have the formula.

You bet that's what we want, and they're going to give it to us. Polkow doesn't know the formula. Oh, he knows it all right. I heard he'd tell us he really did. Did I not say so, friend James? The ugly dark one is he who's fired on me, Mr. White's garage. They come to your mother's house. You come out by yourself or do we get you up? But I tell you Polkow doesn't know the formula. I don't know, you want to play with my fat, huh? Okay, thanks. A lot of work. Oh, one of them's got a hammer and chisel. He's going to force the hatch open. Have no fear. We're safe in here. If he gets the hatch open, he can't take it in. He can't burn. Will you please go brining and tell me what you mean? And claim language polkow? As you say, okay. The material of which this fake Alice made is another utopian secret. It cannot be shattered or cut through or even dented by any tool known to man. Are you kidding? When James ensued, I think the truth. I can't believe it. Then look. Look at what?

The man with the hammer and chisel. He's giving up. His chisel is all chipped. What's our polkow? What is it? The dark man and the boss. He's putting a gun at us. Have no fear. And don't shoot, don't. You're going to come out? Yes. Polkow opened the hatch. And James did cool. Do not be fooled. But he's got a gun. As you say. So what? Now listen, polkow. He's been given my lap. All right, why is that? You asked for it. Well, friend James. Keepers. The bullets bounce right off the shelf. Of course they do. You're not that big truth. You sure it is. Oh, water, they saw. Look at them. Waves their hands. Let them wave. Let them ray. Wait a minute. What is it? The dark man is telling them something. They're all starting to laugh now. And there goes one of them. They're taking something of a boxy. I wonder what they're up to now, polkow. Nervously, Jimmy Olsen watches them

outside the space show. We'll return in a moment for the exciting climax of today's episode. But first let's hear from your friend and mine. Say, gang, if you usually get right up when your mother calls you in the morning, or do you kind of stall around and wait till the very last minute? Well, no matter what your method is. I am willing to bet that you come running and you know they're super delicious Kellogg's pep waiting for you. Yes, sir, those crisp golden hole heaks taste a dog-gun good at breakfast time but just thinking about them makes you hungry. And you know, that's a good idea too, because pep is mighty good for you as well as downright delicious. But that's only half the pep story. There's an exciting prize right inside every single pep package. It's a colored cardboard model of an alive warplane that's all ready for you to put together. Now there were 14 different plane models you can get all together. Four British, two Russian and eight American. Best of all, gang, you don't have to spend in a single penny for any of these models.

Not even a box top. There's a plane inside every pep package. So be sure your mother gets you a package of super delicious pep tomorrow. And remember the name, pep, P-E-P. Pep is made by Kellogg's in Bachel Creek. And now back to the adventures of Superman. Having locked themselves in Poco Space Shell, Jimmy Olson and the Little Rhymes tour apparently safe from all efforts of their mysterious captors to dislodge them. But then in the old barn where the men brought the shell, Jimmy was alarmed of sea of gallant can and a hole set up outside the shell. Why, of course, they're up to mouth. My day and I tell you, you have no fear. We're absolutely safe in here. I don't know. Hey, they're connecting a rubber hole from the tent to the rocket tubes under our shell. So I see. I can't say it maybe. Maybe they're gonna blow us up. It can't be done. It's not even a sign of matter. TNT? It's nothing, friend James. I wish I could believe that. All right, doing that. This is your last chance.

You're gonna open that hatch and come out. I don't know what to do. Do as I say, remain this way. Well, you're coming out alive or dead. You hear that, Poco? We must stay in the shell. All will be well. Yeah, I guess so. No, we're not coming out. Okay, hey. Put that on there. Poco, what's that hitting it? Can have funny odor. I'll ask. It is dead. You're right. It is dead. Hey, they're pumping it into the shell for the rocket tubes. What are we gonna do now, Poco? I'm afraid by friends. This is the end. Carefully, Jimmy Olson and Poco stare at each other. At the deadly gas hissing into the transparent space shell. What will happen now? Don't miss tomorrow's exciting episode and our new adventure of the space shell. You'll men, same time, same station, and drill to the adventures of...
