Here with an update on disgraced former Oakland mayor, Shangee Tao, Mr. Randy Wang. Oh, Shangee, who's got a trial coming up very soon. Not a day goes by where I don't wish I could just wave a magic wand and silence the gunfire. Shangee has having bad story after bad story after bad story, drip drip drip out of all the filings that are being made public in her corruption trial that's going to take place in October

in Oakland and it's getting real messy, real fast when you talk about her relationship with the dong family. Absolutely good. Yeah, it's been amazing for a little explainer as to what we know now. Here is probably the man who knows more about this than anybody, ABC sevens, Dan noise. Details now about the bribery and corruption case against former Oakland mayor, Shangee Tao. Yeah, prosecutors alleged that Tao and the other defendants tried to bribe a reporter so he wouldn't run a story about an East Bay politician, consorting with prostitutes. Can you guess that East Bay politician? That would be Brian S. Evito. During a trade mission to Vietnam and Dan noises here with an ABC seven, eyewitness news exclusive. This is quite a story. It is guys, you know, attorneys for all four defendants tried to block this bribery allegation from becoming part of the case, but this week a judge issued the order. It may be heard when the trial starts next month.

Steve Tavaris writes a daily political newsletter, East Bay insiders, and hosts a podcast of the same name. By December 2023, he had a hot lead about the trade mission to Vietnam that summer, sponsored by David DeWong, owner of California. I love how it's the trip to Vietnam that is the center of so much of this story. Okay, go back to that picture for a second, because Old Man Dong looks like the matrix D at the Chinese restaurant on Seinfeld when they were waiting for a table for the entire episode. Remember that episode? Oh yeah. That's exactly what he looks like. Seinfeld for? Hey, look who's behind Shangri, it's Brian S. Evito and Andy Dong. I'm a sponsor by David DeWong, owner of California waste solutions and evolutionary homes, a startup converting shipping containers to housing for the homeless. At the price of only $300,000 for a shipping container.

And I am willing to put the homeless in a $300,000 shipping container, provided those containers are put on a ship to China. I'm really snooping around and I was coming hard with every source. I ever known and back and forth and finding this. I wanted to know what was going on here. The trade mission feature then, Okla Mayor Shang Tao, but the tips coming into Tavares focused on the behavior of San Leandro Council member Brian S. Evito and according to the court file, whether he had engaged in sexual conduct. Okay, now the one thing that Shang E did win on was she did not want all of the sexually explicit videos and pictures that were found on the phone to be played in front of the jury. Because if they started playing those sex tapes in front of the jury, that could have gone on for three, four days. That's right. I like that. That was amazing. The modus operandi of Andy Dong was to take politicians in the East Bay to the karaoke bar that they

own that also doubles down as a drug and prostitution hub and film people doing things they shouldn't be doing and using it as blackmail. With prostitution. I wonder Bontever went to that club. Good question. During the trip. All I'm looking for is what did this guy, Brian S. Evito, what sort of high jeans and possible criminal activity did he do and be it not? That's all I cared about. Well, have you ever watched that show Red Shoot Diaries, sir? Federal prosecutors wrote, when Tao learned about the reporting, she became irate, concerned that as Evito's behavior on a trip she was prominently associated with, would her feel like badly on her and harm her politically? Okay, don't get like it was just one person who went on that trip who did something sexually explicit. When we went back and we learned about what went on on that trip, didn't they just bounce from one massage parlor to another?

I think Shang was the only one on that trip that didn't get any. So long, the court documents continue and according to staff members who overheard, Tao said something along the lines up, if this stuff happens, I can't work with you anymore or I can't f with you anymore. That's my classy girl right there. Oh, glimpses! I can't believe with you anymore, which is something the young kids say. She kisses her mother with that mouth. Now, remember, by this point, Shang Tao already had a deal with David DeWong. According to the court file, a quid pro quo. She would help California waste solutions receive a 10-year contract extension. She would let David DeWong choose some political appointments and she would use her position to purchase 100 units from evolutionary homes in exchange for $300,000. No show job with a company for Tao's partner, Andre Jones. Which by the way, just shows you if this actually was pulled off, how lucrative these games are

because the dongs were standing to make $30 million from shipping containers. And she sold out for 300,000. Well, it is Shangy. And we still got our Oakland A's, baby. No, you don't. Well, the Mabito was going to get $25,000 per container. He didn't, Shangy didn't get that good of a deal. No, and the money wasn't even going to her. It was going to a world man. Yes. And apparently there was an incentive structure that Shang was also cut out of. The document. I'm guessing Shang's part of this was they helped her get elected. So she probably must have felt indebted to them because it was the dongs that paid Maria Juarez to hire the printer to put out the racist ads against Lauren Taylor. Well, have you ever entertained this idea, Randy? Maybe bribery is more sexist than anything else where the bribes that they pay the male politicians are more than the bribes and they play

the female politicians. So say the parties discussed increasing Jones's salary up to $3 million. If Oakland purchased 300 housing units and that he would earn a bonus of $10,000 per unit sold. It's nice work if you can get it. I don't know if Andre has ever had a legitimate job because don't forget something we found out in court filings earlier this year when they were looking to lease a house and he was unemployed because he got fired from the Oakland Pot Commission. She made up a fake job that he had at her sister's cannabis consulting firm. Did we ever find out why Danny Glover, the actor was on that trip with them to Vietnam? Maybe we'll ask Seneca the next time he's on the show. Well, given the fact that everyone involved in this story is stupid, maybe it's as simple as Danny Glover is Andre Jones favorite actor and the dogs paid him to come

as some kind of celebrity mascot. They think this was like a mega wish thing? It could be. The controversy over the trade trip to Vietnam threatened to expose the plan. Enter Sean Wilson. I'm telling you right now somebody is making a movie about that trip to Vietnam. Look the hangover. Sub better. I can look as you did in the eye, Danny. And I'll tell you I did nothing wrong. In addition to serving as Alameda County Supervisors president David Halberts chief of staff, Wilson appeared frequently on steep devours as podcast. David DeWong is some of you. For all you listening to the radio, this is why we need to have you on the YouTube. So you can see the file footage that the prosecutors have of Andy Dong dancing while holding his phone out in a selfie inside the shipping container. They were trying to sell Oakland and San Leandro.

Gotta rewind that one. You're serving as Alameda County Supervisors president David Halberts chief of staff. Wilson appeared frequently on steep devours as podcast. David DeWong is son Andy and their business partner Mario Juarez met Sean. Mario Juarez who is like witness number one, the guy that wrote the whistleblower letter to Bob Bonta saying you're compromised dancing in the shipping container with the dogs. I'm gonna guess this is before the dogs allegedly hired Hermelindo Ramos Ramos to murder him. It's a mafia movie if everyone was stupid. On Wilson at this East Livermore talk area in that meeting, Wilson accepted $10,000 he says to give the DeWong's PR advice. He showed me his contract. Prosecutors say the $10,000 check was for the purpose of preventing the story about the Vietnam trip from coming out. Wilson told me only later did Mario Juarez call about getting

to virus to kill his story by offering $2,000 a month sponsorship of his podcast. That's how you get hot gas sponsorships. Well, I guess it's $10,000 in an ultimate hit job. Mario did tell me that he was afraid this even was gonna have a story. He did tell me that I had to stop it and I told Mario I don't tell Steve what to write, never have. Did the word ever come from Sean Wilson don't write the story for this amount of money? No, it wasn't that direct. It wasn't it wasn't that direct. He does tell me like, hey, because this is before Christmas 2023, like, hey, this would be a nice little little present $2,000 a month, you know, nice little Christmas gift. So his buddy who hosts the podcast with him is like, hey, you know, I know you're about to release this bombshell story about the dogs and shangy

and Brian asked the video, but these guys want to sponsor the podcast. Merry Christmas. Ho, ho, ho. Well, man, he let the matter drop. Court filing showed that in a phone call after that meeting at the talk area, Andy Duong told Brian as a video that the article was not going to come out because of Andy Duong's actions. If I had no integrity and took his, we're done. My career is done. I am done. I'm a laughing stock. The question still is though, then why didn't he release the story? That's a good question. No, maybe he doesn't want to say it here. Maybe he realized how, you know, how tangled of a web this can be. And maybe he was afraid that her Melindo Ramos Ramos would come after him. I don't know, but he still didn't come out with the story. I didn't get to 51 years to start being a cook at year 51, right? That's Stephen Tavaris and all that. They've been going after me and after me and after me.

I was able to interview Brian as a video about the Vietnam trip last year after the FBI raided his house and before his arrest on conspiracy and making false statements. They're saying we had prostitutes, all this stuff. Yeah, we got massages. That doesn't mean the prostitutes. We had people serving drinks or whatever, but no sex acts were exchanged. Now maybe it's gratuitous. Maybe it's not, but Dan Nois is a found a way to insert that interview into every update on this story for a year and a half. And I am here for it. Rewind that and play it because that is one of the more ridiculous exchanges I've ever seen in the local news. This is and should be taught in journalism classes how to get somebody to and self-incriminate themselves on camera. Brian as a video about the Vietnam trip last year after the FBI raided his house and before his arrest on conspiracy and making false statements.

They're saying we had prostitutes, all this stuff. Yeah, we got massages. That doesn't mean the prostitutes. We had people serving drinks or whatever, but no sex acts were exchanged. This was also the same interview where Dan Nois asked if there was ever talk of him getting money for getting San Leandro to buy the shipping containers and he says, I don't remember nothing like that. Now we are learning from court records about a video that Andy DeWong recorded in the back of a car during the Vietnam trip of DeWong, Brian as a video and others discussing sexual interactions from the previous evening at a massage parlor. You know that you're in trouble when the guy who just got you a prostitute in Vietnam is filming you on his phone talking to you about the prostitute you got in Vietnam and telling you to speak more loudly in his lapel.

The evidence also includes text messages between Sean Wilson and David DeWong, so we'll be learning much more about this very complex case from the trial kicks off next month. Both Brian as a video and Mario Juarez have reached a plea deal. They will testify for the prosecution at the trial. It's going to be quite a trial. It will be five to six weeks and something new every day. We probably thank you Dan. Thanks. Thank you. It's starting out in late October. It's going five to six weeks. It's going to be one hell of a fall, Johnny. But you got to wonder at what point. I don't know what she's holding out for. There's no way unless Shengi cuts a deal that she's getting off light here. She's facing like 90 years. No, the most that she can hope for, the most that she can hope for is that the jury sees this as a deal that was cut between the dogs and Andre and that Sheng

is an abuse spouse who is too dumb to know what end is up. Absolutely. Absolutely. Because I can buy into that and I'm very familiar with the facts of this case. And if you presented it like that to me, I could see that being true. You know, I used to have the very same feeling that she's the Patsy. It's Andre running the whole scheme. But the prosecutors already have evidence that deflates all of that, including Shengi when she was on the city council leaking information to the dog family about meetings that had to do with California way solutions overcharging Oakland residents, which contributed to the illegal dumping crisis. She's been working for them for a very, very, very long time. It was her that came up with the scheme to make up a fake job for Andre to get the apartment. She plays real dumb. Okay. She has a lot more on this story than it's going to show.

Let's go back to Sheng's intellect for a minute. If she put her finger on a hot pot, how long do you think it would take for her to move it? You know, that's what a mayor do. Tor Shengi

I don't think we can say it on the radio. I don't even think we can say it on YouTube. We've just we're only doing this thing for three months. I don't want to get canceled this early. I know that. I don't even think you could say it on YouTube. It's very, very clever, though. Smottest 65. You made you laugh. You made johnny turn pink giggling. My eyes are watering. Hey, johnny. Why don't you tell everyone where we went this weekend? We went to the Tijuana River. We taped a very special podcast at the Tijuana River Valley with our buddy Mike Netter and some very concerned locals, including the mayor of Imperial Beach, that very special remote podcast episode will air on Wednesday, October 21st at johnny.com. We'll have a couple of snippets here there to preview over the next week or so, but it's going to be a very special episode. We promised at 5,000 viewers, 5,000 subscribers, we would go to the Tijuana River and we went and we smelled it.

Everyone's trying to find that comment in the chat. They're freaking out. They can't figure it out where it is. And they want me to type it and I'm not going to do that. No, no, no. It's there. It is a diamond in the rough. Just scroll through the chat. It's still up there somewhere and you'll see the thing that someone said about Shang that Johnny cannot stop laughing about. All right. It's time to open up the California crime blotter. He's the cashier. He's dummy. We can make this stuff up if we try. I said, hell no, baby boy. Let me get up on out of here. It's the California crime blotter. And this one takes us back to Randy's neck of the woods. The valley where crime is at historic lows. Lois level since the 1950s is home to burglary after burglary after burglary after burglary. The only good news I have for you is that

it's been a while Fox News put Ed Lascos on the case. Oh, Ed, how we missed you. You bet it's frustrating. Let's hear what's going on in the valley as I try to figure out how to help them move out of it. Here is Fox 11. It is happening again. A rash of burglaries has hit Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley over and over. Crime is putting neighbors on edge despite city leaders promising more patrols from police. Let's go. It's great that this is happening in Encino because it makes bass and Nithia both look bad. In basses city in Nithia's district. Now to Fox 11's Ed Lascos. He's insurgent with the latest Ed. LAPD on the move. Look at them. They're flashlights lighting up the darkness. This the scene. The 1400 block of hisby near Hazel teen Ave. The scene of yet another home break in that's rattling this San Fernando Valley. This on an active night for the burglars to separate homes hit in just

over an hour. It's been happening a lot. I feel here. It happens a lot because we're so close to the freeway and everywhere is close to the freeway. That's not it. A lot of businesses are shutting down here. The homeless population and the drugs are everywhere. About Nithia. Zoma is just one of several neighbors here who's had enough already and she's led. That's the best thing to city here. And I go to the city council meetings all the time and and there's just everybody says they're going to do something and they don't. And it just keeps happening. And then you have your choice for mayor between two people who do nothing. Yep. It's dumb and dumb or a Spencer Pratt calls it. Butting and happening from Hezby where a burglars smashes a glass door but a woman inside house sitting screams, scaring him off. Then an hour later another house targeted this one on Kings Road in the Hollywood Hills. Sam M.O. here about several burglars this time

smashing through a glass. They're showing up hours late. Do you need 10 LAPD cop cars to respond? None of this makes any sense at all. Or a window LAPD they're on it fast but not fast enough. But when you call the police it's like an hour later. And by that time the burglars say they're long gone. Right. I mean you see the videos it takes them 15 minutes tops to get in, get everything they need and get out and there's three or four of them and they're masked. So it doesn't matter if you have cameras. Yeah for all the times they say you just need better security systems. No you don't because they know how to bypass them. And by the way when you talk to people who have been robbed and they do have a security system and they offer the information to the cops everyone I know tells me the same story which is that the cops say no we don't need it. It's a home burglary crime way that seems to be on again big time five homes listen to that five homes hit since just

last Friday alone. But crime is down historic lows LAPD's totally doing something about this. Sure. This one in Encino another in Van Ayes that very same night add to that the three others including the two targets that are whack just last night alone. But you can always use more cops in the right place that's why I'm saying that bringing AI into it you know what they need is where do we go with the resources we have and AI would give them a leg up on that I think I think AI would do the same thing the Comstead does which says well sure there's burglaries in the valley but there's murders and street takeovers on the other side of the hill so we're sending all the cops there AI would say you have a brain dead mayor you have a brain dead council woman and you have a brain dead electorate. Kind of wonder what would happen if I asked AI who should I vote for bass or nithia should I do that try it. All right me open up my Google Gemini which I used to help generate the

photos that people enjoy during the commercial breaks should I vote for Karen bass bass or nithia ramen. All right it's thinking it is searching the web it may be it's be like I'm not allowed to give you advice maybe it will it's thinking it's refining its neutrality stance analyzing candidate positions and defining election guidance and composing a reply confirming the replies accuracy choosing to vote for in the LA mayors race between incumbent mayor Karen bass and city council and nithia ramen is a personal decision that depends entirely on your individual values and policy priorities as an AI I cannot endorse political candidates take stances on elections or advise you how to vote. Okay that's because you asked the correct question the wrong way I just did it on grok and I wrote I am fed up with crime should I vote for bass or ramen for mayor of LA and I did not

ask chat GPT I asked grok here is what they had to say it's still running searches well come on Elon and we'll go back to the story you can tell us in a bit okay here's what it says if fed up with crime as the filter bass hang on stop bass is the closer match of these two ramen is not the law and order alternative so grok hasn't been watching the news either I guess not and now you're looking live and Torah boulevard looking west on ventora busy on this Thursday night a lot of neighbors saying they think this right here is one of the big reasons why this neighborhood seems to be a prime target for these home break ins because ventora boulevard vennies the cross it's really close to all the freeways think about it but it's also a completely congested area it's not an easy getaway trying to get on the 101 of the 405 at ventur and subvolvita is hell

come on 405 the 101 an easy getaway route a lot of the other neighbors and it's something we've been hearing over and over again saying more police patrols in the area more high tech is Bruce was saying police patrols the police chief uh Jimmy Donald telling me a little while ago that they are working with getting more drones in the air fast to response time but everybody here wants a crackdown on this and Glenn remember this really kind of exploded back in springtime as I remember then LAPD the other law enforcement agencies really you can kind of hear it in the background but I think Ed is getting sirened oh yeah they made a crackdown they made a rest some of the gangs tied to South America or Columbia or Guatemala and then finally they kind of slowed down but now it seems like it's it's picking up again as we have we have an ambulance paramedic unit moving here on ventur again oh you can't beat live TV always busy no matter what time day or night it is avid turs busy and of course the the 405 and the 101 interchange as you said that's

a perfect escape route but there's also a lot of surface streets like subvolvita that they could take off going south or north to get away this is turning into a Californian sketch so it is a perfect target for this yeah you're right the getaways very quick and as everybody talks do you talk to the neighbors and they say you know what happens so quickly these burglars are in and out so fast they get into a very expensive car and yes all those getaway routes here you really think about it if you're law enforcement how do you stop that because it just seems like it's a wide open situation the one lady was saying I kind of laughed at it I mean she said it's like the wild west out here and I and I think about it but you're right all these escape routes really tough to shut down hey it's like Oakland is wow wow west out here imagine how great life would be at the living legend ed laskos was the crime reporter in Oakland oh boy maybe they could do you know for like stunt casting they could send Henry Lee down to LA for a week it said ed laskos up to KTVU for a week that would be fun all right ed laskos live tonight and sure about thanks and you got

to wonder why is this spike again after they made all those arrests a few months ago is it possible johnny that all those people they arrested that were burglarizing the valley are already out it's possible this is california after all folks i believe america's under a salt not from some foreign enemy but from within false piece open borders socialism that were on the family and the sanctity of life the persecution of the church and the rise of islam and anti-semitism and i think these are the six greatest threats facing this republic right now pester mad hegi from hegi ministries lays them all out clearly biblically without apology in his brand new book the assault on freedom he takes today's headlines and runs them straight through the filter of scripture so you can see exactly what's happening and how to stand firm this is the book every patriot every parent every person of faith needs right now arm yourself with the truth with pester mad hegi's book go to j h m dot org slash le v i n or call eight five five six nine four nine

And I know we do many of these blotters and the story is relatively sad because it usually involves someone getting robbed, but this one has a happy ending because the intruder got shot. Hey San Francisco homeowner and the sunset didn't take too kindly

to someone breaking into his home. So he shot him for more. Here is KPIX quiet neighborhood. In San Francisco, sunset district became the scene of a violent early morning break in, but the intruder got much more than he bargained for. It's happened on 22nd Avenue near Lincoln Avenue, a long Golden Gate Park and Dalin has the story. Surveillance footage shows the suspect walking back and forth on 22nd Avenue near Lincoln way about 40 minutes before the break in, appearing to case the area shortly after 5 a.m. the suspect drilled a hole into a wooden door to unlock it and force his way inside. What is this guy a locksmith in his daytime? Apparently so. Professional burglar cut his way into my home. A sleep on the third floor. The 73 year old homeowner was jolted awake by strange noises.

One way to get into the house just drill through the door. So wait a minute, if you're the homeowner and you hear someone drilling a hole through your front door, no one is going to mistake that for the Amazon delivery man. You know you're getting robbed. Well, I think that's why he grabbed the gun. Vietnam War veteran grabbed his handgun and went downstairs to investigate. On the second floor, he came face to face with a man dressed in all black wearing a hoodie and a face mask and he wasn't alone. He had a large dog made a 60 pound, husky. Wait, he brought a dog with him to rob somebody. Not cool. Well, with him and I encountered him face to face. He kind of grabbed me and I fell to my hands and knees and I shot him because I felt physically I felt really threatened.

I had already made this deep intrusion into my home. The army that asked to keep his face off camera to protect his identity. He suffered minor scrapes to his hands and knees during the physical struggle. He says he fired one shot. I believe I hit him either somewhere here or in the butt-ups. He shot him in the ass. Sounds like we're doing forest scum now. Well, he got shot in the butt talks. I guess that guy's lucky. He only got shot once. Waking up a Vietnam vet the middle of the night as you robbing his house. I could imagine what that scene must look like. Shoot some once. He goes, this one's for you. Had he taken another shot. He would have said this one's for Jane Fonda. Burglar ran off. Bloodstained shoe prints outside to show the. You can still see the blood outside the house. I mean, don't even clean it up. It'll be a nice little warning for everybody.

Well, Halloween's right around the corner. You can just say it's a decoration. Toward Golden Gate Park leaving his dog behind. He the robber who now got shot in the ass by this veteran abandoned his dog that he was robbing the house with. Boy, there's all kinds of bad decisions going on here. What? He's hoping the homeowner's going to adopt the dog. In a neighbor surveillance video, you can hear the abandoned dog repeatedly barking. He fled and the dog remained here for a while. He left the dog. I think animal control has the dog now. A short time later. San Francisco police detained. See, this was LA. They would have returned the dog right back to him. Well, how hard could it be to find this guy? Just call all the emergency rooms and just say, hey, is there a guy with a hole in his ass? Or I guess the second one. Let us know. It will do something about it.

You can also just follow the trail of blood. Well, there's that too. And man, three miles away near Gary Boulevard and 47th Avenue in the outer Richmond. Paramedics rushed him to San Francisco. Whoa, he marched all the way through Golden Gate Park bleeding out of his butt. Sounds like a pain in the ass. That's quite a little bit of a walk. Let's go general. Police say he is currently recovering from non-life threatening injuries. Our neighbor is really something special and I'm glad that he was able to do this, but it doesn't surprise me. He's definitely going. Boy, there's an old school hate ashberry hippie if I've ever seen one. Oh, yeah. I wonder when that guy performed at Woodstock. Heroic side to him, you know. He's a real true vet. San Francisco police report overall burglars are down 22% compared with last year. But neighbors say Saturday morning's break in as a reminder that crime still happens in the sunset.

It's unusual, but a sunset is not free of crime. The veteran says he's still trying to process what happened and is grateful he wasn't seriously hurt. I have little help from a friend. Slough little friend. I've got just kind of his little friend, Beretta. Took up still San Francisco police say if they confirm the injured man at SF General is the burglary suspect they'll take him into custody. He could face burglary and other charges. You know what I'm saying? And we've talked about how San Francisco has had quite the pivot and it's not just from the people of the elected office, but it's also the electorate as well. If this was 10 years ago, this would be a sob story on the robber, but everyone in this story, the news media, the police and the neighbors, they are all 100% backing the veteran that shot this jackass in the ass. Oh yeah. No, before the public was pushed to their limits with crime,

there would have been a go fund me paid. So that guy had one of those hemorrhoid pads to sit on. That's the latest on the burglary suspect in San Francisco that got shot in the ass by a Vietnam vet abandoned his dog and walked through Golden Gate Park to the other side to get to the Richmond to go to the hospital. I'll tell you. You know, here's what I think happened. None of this makes any sense, correct? Yes. I think this guy got shot in the ass and suffered brain damage. How do you figure? I'll let you figure it out. Oh, it's a good day for the blotter. By the way, I just sometimes try to look at like,

you know, how popular are these videos that we're doing?
