Our Kedian fan guard presents The Wrestling News and your daily wrestling newscast for Thursday, October 1st, 2026. Good morning, I'm Mike Subberby. We begin today with AEW's Pack Tribute episode of Dynamite aired live last night on TBS and HBO Max from the Peterson's Event Center in Pittsburgh. The show opened with an in-ring tribute to Saturday with comments from Excalibur and Tony Shavani footage from PAX Final appearance in a promo segment with the Death Riders following all out and a 10-Bell salute. In the main event, the Death Riders joined once again by Brian Daniels and defeated Josh Alexander, Jake Doyle, Lance Archer and a returning word-low in a 10-man tag-tee match. The Death Riders embraced in the ring after the match to end the show. Nobody quite liked our friend Ben.
We meant so much to the people that have known him for more than a decade, like Claudio Castanio only, or the people that only met them when their AEW careers began. Like Wheeler Uda, Marineist Jaffir, Danny Garcia. The emotional and his death of his friend Andy as well, and now point over here. Ben taught us to be kind at Excalibur, taught us to be good people. We'll never forget him in many ways. Absolutely will not. Thanks, thank you for joining us for this tribute to our friend Ben Satterley. Hug your loved ones tonight and tell them to love them. This was Danielsson's first televised match in nearly two years in word-low's first match in two and a half years. Danielsson and Moxley had reunited in the ring earlier in the show following Moxley's successful defense of the continental champion's champ against Orange Cassidy in the opening match.
The show featured pre-taped memorials for Benjamin Pax Satterley from Darby Ellen Swarth Strickland, Hangman Adam Page, Ricochet, Cash Wheeler, Jay Whiteen, Will Osprey, with René Picad also reading a statement from Satterley's wife and parents. Ben was so happy to be proud to be proud in part of this AEW family and to be in an encouraging and caring environment that he could feel at ease in. He made some wonderful friends with his time in the company. We could not be more thankful to everybody at AEW for all of their help in navigating this tragedy. They have been truly phenomenal. Tony Khan is a great man in this business is so lucky to have someone like him. Thank you for lightning our load. Thank you to all events fans for their support over the years. We send you our love and have been moved to see so many people saying so many wonderful things about his impact on their lives, whether great or small. We would love you forever Ben and our lives will never be the same without you. Thank you the Satterley family.
AEW World Champion Osprey defeated Ricochet in a non title match pinning him after using Pax Black Arrow Finisher. In an eight-man tag team match Adam Page Kenny Omega in the Young Bucks defeated Kyle Fletcher Cavanite, Rocky Romero and Trent Burrata when Omega pin Burrata. This was the first time that Omega Page and the box had teamed together since 2023's Blood and Gut Smash. World Trios Champion Strickland in the new level pay tribute to Satterley by placing their championship belts down with a pack memorial towel. In a trio's match Marineish affair Thunder Rosa and high-end defeated AEW World Women's Champion Mercedes Monet, TBS Champion Persephone and Brit Baker. In legal news, Roger Jackson has been released from jail according to Mike Johnson. Jackson served a 90-day sentence related to an unscripted attack he made against wrestlers Stuart Smith, known professionally as Psycho's Stew at a California Independent Show in August of last year. Jackson pleaded guilty to personal inflection of great bodily harm and engaging in violent conduct.
In addition to his time serve, Jackson had to pay $8,703.38 in restitution to Smith and serve two years of probation. And in some unfortunate news, Independent wrestler Nester Bustos, who wrestled his SoCal Crazy, passed away yesterday at the age of 47 after a four-year battle with Colin Cancer, according to an announcement from SoCal Pro Wrestling. Crazy was a long-tenured staple of California Independent Wrestling known for his high-flying Lucha Libre style. He was a four-time SoCal Pro Heavyweight Champion and also held titles for alternative wrestling show Vendetta Pro and New Wave Pro Wrestling. He began his wrestling career in 2000 with California Championship Wrestling and also competed for SoCal Pro Wrestling Empire Wrestling Federation and other California Independence. And in 2009, he was named Southern California wrestler of the year. After being diagnosed with stage 4 Colin Cancer, Bustos went on hiatus from the ring for over a year while receiving chemotherapy but returned to action in 2023 and continued to wrestle in almost 50 more matches, competing in his final match last June at SoCal Pro's at the County Fair.
Once again, California Independent wrestler Nester Bustos, known as SoCal Crazy, has passed away at the age of 47.
