I was doing a lot of golf content yesterday, Carlymory. At Green Lake Pitchin' Putt, which is here in Seattle. I think I want to give it a go and try to go pro in golf. I think I can do it. Go pro? Yeah, why not? Okay. I'm 25 year old men that are pro golfers. There's no reason other than my golf ability that I could not be a pro golfer.

I mean, you can, but there was men who have been doing this for like, ever. Best day to start was 20 years ago. Second best day to start Carlymory. Today. Today. Okay. So here we go. I will support you. Pro golfer Anthony. If you actually do it. No, I probably won't. But if you are interested in meeting some new people and getting some golf under your belt, they're helping our friends at Seattle cocktail club and Green Lake Pitchin' Putt host a happy hour this Thursday. And if you want the info for that, if you're in this Seattle area, we will post that in the description of today's podcast episode. But I think we should actually do the podcast, right? Oh, we probably probably should do it. Good morning and welcome to the Morning Show podcast. My name is Anthony. I'm Carlymory and today is Tuesday, September 15th, 2026. The core for the four headlines. You need to know. Good news. You can allegedly eat lettuce now without pooping yourself for weeks. That's good. The CDC says that the nationwide cyclospora outbreak is officially over at the cyclospora outbreaks

peak. There were about a thousand infections per day. Oh, wow. But by the end of August, that had dropped to like fewer than two per day. So I'm still scared to let us. I'll be honest with you. But the CDC says there is no longer risk and you can eat all the iceberg lettuce you want. Hopefully, this is the last update I have to do about this topic because I feel like every two weeks, I have to flip flop as to what's going on with our mail-in ballots across America. I don't even know. At this point, as of yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled on an emergency injunction filed by the White House and said, no, President Trump's executive order that has been blocked by a district judge is going to continue to be blocked. Now, I want to read you Justice Kavanaugh's statement because he was one of the people that came out, one of the justice's that came out in defense of blocking this executive order. And remember, Kavanaugh was the justice, the first justice selected by Donald Trump.

Justice Kavanaugh said, quote, the government is unlikely to succeed on the merits of its challenge to the district court's preliminary injunction. And then he went on to say in regards to if this rule was to be implemented, quote, applying the rule in the 2026 elections would be arbitrary and capricious of the Administrative Procedure Act because the state and local election officials do not have sufficient time to reasonably implement the rule before the elections, which is a great point because we are currently 49 days away from the midterm elections, meaning if this rule was to be implemented, every state in America would have to figure out how to do this, find the money to pay for it all within 49 days. So at the moment, it looks like the executive order that would restrict mail-in voting is gone for now. Balls are so back. I couldn't be happier. Have you seen this? I saw someone posting yesterday that like, I guess Gen Z just discovered malls or something.

So there have been years like malls are dying. They're closing no more malls. But over the last year, malls are outperforming every other type of commercial real estate and values of malls in general have gone up 13%. That's awesome. They're close to or better than pre-COVID levels at this point. Now part of the comeback is because of stranger things. At least that's what they're linking this to because it reminded people of how like mall culture is awesome and it goes back to you Anthony saying Gen Z kind of like discovered repulsed. But really, that is what is happening. These kids are going to the mall for the first time. And I think what people are rediscovering is not necessarily anything particular to stranger things, but people are discovering being out in public. That's it. Is important. Interacting with strangers is important. But also a lot of these malls have figured out that it's not just shopping. You have to give people an experience. You need good restaurants entertainment.

There's movie theaters. But what we are saying with a lot of these malls now is they don't have necessarily department stores. They've got like luxury brands, fancy restaurants, grocery stores. Like a lot of times when I go to garden, stay plaza in New Jersey now, I'm like, I can't what? I'm just going to roll up to Louis Vuitton and buy something. They've got a Versace store in that mall. They've got a Louis Vuitton store in that mall. It's just like, and if you are wondering why Carla Marie and I are so pro malls because we grew up in New Jersey, give me my wet seal. The land of malls. What's a wet seal? The store. We would all buy our tight little dresses and the cheetah. Just give me some hot topic. It's all I need. There's a very good chance that between the weekend and today you've heard Maclamore's name a lot. And this is not because we mentioned Maclamore and Ryan Lewis in yesterday's edition of the podcast in pop stop, which if you missed it, can't hold us became the most important most streamed song in hip hop history on Spotify. Okay, but that is neither here nor there. Why are we talking about Maclamore in the core four, not in pop stop?

And that is because he got himself into some controversy over the weekend with some pro Palestinian statements while he was opening up for Ed Sheeran on Ed Sheeran's loop tour. Okay. And the important thing to remember is that this tour, the loop tour, is about to go through Foxboro Stadium, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, I should say. And that stadium is owned by Robert Kraft who also owns the New England Patriots. And Robert Kraft came in and basically said, Hey, Ed Sheeran, if you don't drop Maclamore for his pro Palestinian stance, you are not coming to Gillette Stadium and I've worked with other NFL owners to block you from their stadiums as well. So yesterday it was announced that Maclamore was indeed dropped from Ed Sheeran's tour. And Maclamore had a statement about how him and Ed are still friends. It's all good. They just have a difference in opinion on this subject. But I kept finding all of these articles that kept calling Maclamore's statements anti-Semitic or problematic or anti-Jewish. And I couldn't find any of them actually quoting him. So I scoured the internet and I found a condensed clip.

Now there are some breaks that are cut out of this. So it's like two minutes long. The full break is about five minutes because he takes some time to acknowledge this. You edited this? No, no, I found this on Instagram. If you do want the full context of how this was presented to the audience at MetLife Stadium, I am going to put a link to another video in the description of today's podcast episode just so that you can be informed. But here is what got Maclamore in trouble. One of the reasons why I wanted to come on this tour was because I wanted to stand up here on stages and stadiums across America and say two words that are very near and dear to my heart, free Palestine. I said free Palestine. I want those words to be loud and clear so that people from Gaza all the way to the occupied

West Bank know that we have not forgotten them. And this next song was inspired by the bravery of Columbia University students who led an encampment movement that mobilized the entire world, opened up hearts myself included. So thank you to those students that risked their diplomas, that risked their tuition, that risked their scholarships, that stood up and said no. The UAD students, students for justice in Palestine and Jewish voices for peace. Thank you guys to all of my Jewish brothers and sisters. Criticism of Israel, criticism of apartheid being against genocide in no way is a criticism of you. My message is for peace, love for all human beings to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality. So I say free Palestine.

I say free Lebanon, I say free Cuba, I say free Congo, free Sudan, free all people in America living in fear over this terrorist organization ice. None of us will be free until we are all free. This song is called Hens Hall. So that is the statement in its entirety that got him kicked off. Now he said this similar things on night one and night two in Met life before he got dropped from the tour. You can decide for yourself if that is somewhat anti-Semitic. You can find the full video in today's description of the podcast episode. Hope for humanity. Even when the news sucks, there's still hope. And no times are wild when there are prisoners helping out school kids. But this is actually an incredible story. Inmates at Norton Correctional Facility in Kansas found out that their local school district

had about $6,000 in unpaid lunch debt. So they organized a fundraiser. The inmates were able to scrounge up $3800 of their own money. What? And prison staff chipped into bringing the total to $4,200. They wiped out about 71% of the debt. And what's crazy is several of these inmates said that they had experienced hunger themselves as kids. So they understood how much this affected these kids in the school. So they wanted to help out. It seems like inmates are more concerned with public school kids eating lunch than our actual elected officials are. Week one already came and went football is officially here. All the songs you know and love, but different. Let's play cover lovers. All of our covers today come from a group that I found on Spotify called the Shady Eucaly

Band. So all really big songs done on the Eucaly. So maybe you're going to feel like you're hanging out in Hawaii on a tropical paradise. Car of the Marie now that we know the theme. Let's get to know our contestants. We've got Mike and Wes Milfer, New Jersey, good morning, Mike. Morning. And then he's going up against Matt in Baltimore, Maryland. Good morning, Matt. Morning, guys. Are either of you well versed in the Eucaly. Do you maybe play at home on vacation or something? No. I'd pick a tar. That's about it. So a larger Eucaly. The bigger one. Yes. Car of the Marie. Who is kicking us off today? Mike in New Jersey is going to go first. Mike here is your first cover lovers clue. And you know the rules, but for anyone listening, I'm going to play 15 to 20 seconds of a cover song, our contestants job is to give us the correct title and artist of every song. Here we go.

Justin Bieber, Despacito. All right. Two points. Yeah. Now Louis Bonsi would have been a correct answer. Daddy Yankee would have been a correct answer because all three of them are on the remix of Despacito, which we just played. Two points for Mike, moving over to Matt's part of Round 1, Matt. Here is your first cover lovers clue. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right. All right, I think we got chain smokers. We ain't never getting older. Ooh, I lost a point. One point because you did get the chain smokers.

Unfortunately, the name of the song would have been closer. Baby, for me, the song is the band of you. I mean, you had the other lyrics in the title. Yeah. It needed to be a lot simpler. Now, as we move into Round Two, Carlymory, what are we looking at? Mike's got two and Matt is traveling with one. All right, Mike, you can build on your lead here in Round Two. Here is your cover lover's clue. A train soul sister? One point. You were so, so close. It is Train A Soul Sister. Oh, my God. Now, since you got one point there, it does give Matt a chance to catch up in his part of Round Two.

I think we got Goatier, somebody that I used to know. Two points. Well done. Now, we moved into Round Three, Carlymory. What are we looking at? We are all tied up. Round Three. And obviously, this game is going to get harder because we are in the final round. And just so everyone knows, if we do end in a tie, there is a tie right there. Okay. So, let's see if we get there. Mike, here is your third cover lover's clue. Lord Royals.

Two points. All right. I am very excited. This is what I love. I love one basically. Everything is up for grabs here. So, Matt, as we move to your part of Round Three, you need two points to push this to an overtime. I sure is. How do you feel? A little bit nervous, but I'm going to go to Hawaii with these ukulele covers. All right. Nice. Here is your third ukulele cover lover's clue. Uh-oh. You're in five.

Sugar? Maroon five. Sugar. If you are correct, you will push it to overtime. If you are incorrect, Mike gets the win. Two points. Anthony, did the Ryan Seacrest pause over in seconds. I was trying to do the best Seacrest impersonation. I could possibly do overtime is upon us. Yes. Now, for anyone who doesn't know, this is how our overtime game goes. I have one clue left. It is still a ukulele cover. I am going to start playing that clue. The moment that you recognize the clue, yell out your name. I will stop the song and if you can give us the correct title or artist, you win. This is Sudden Death, one clue, one shot, one opportunity, mom's spaghetti, all of that is done. Here we go. Oh, that was Matt.

Don't go chase him, Waterfalls. TLC? One point. And the win. Because the song for the record is just Waterfalls. You just shortened your title or the whole chorus, essentially. But you got one point. Waterfalls for TLC. By TLC, correct answer. And today's champion, Matt, congratulations. And we also, we didn't give it to him early enough. One fake point because you are wearing a you look great t-shirt. I'm glad you were able to do that. But Mike, you said something earlier before we were recording. You said we have replaced one of the things in your morning routine. What was that? It was like a ten ten wins like an old man. Oh, so you ten ten wins. Ten ten wins. So for those that don't know, ten ten wins like legendary station in New York, it's a new station. You give them 22 minutes. They give you the world. That's the whole thing. Right? Isn't that their, uh, what do we do? 25 minutes in the world?

We do anything between 15 and 25 minutes. Okay. So much less catchy tagline. There we go. Uh, but thank you guys so much for making this party morning. We appreciate it. Thank you guys. Thank you. Thank you. What's trending? The thing you didn't know you needed until Carlemore told you about it. I'm telling you this right now so that you put it on your calendars and you are prepared to buy what will absolutely be one of the biggest and best gifts of this holiday season. Okay. I know it's still September. I know it's early, but you got to put this on your radar. A Pokemon box set will become available with all 25 Pokemon movies, physical media, and it will all be held in a giant Pokeball. So this one Pokeball will have every Pokemon movie that has come out to date, which means every Pokemon movie that has Ash Ketchum, because as we all know, Ash Ketchum has been retired and is no longer in any of the new Pokemon stuff that's being released. Right. Right. Wait, Ash Ketchum, like got to catch them all. Yeah.

You didn't, you, this is the first you're putting that together in your brain. Well, first of all, I didn't know it. This is the person that's in Pokemon. Like the main protagonist in all the Pokemon stories is Ash. Okay. And then Ash has to catch them all. Yeah. Ash Ketchum has to catch them all. Duh. So if you do want to buy the best gift ever for the Pokemon fan in your life, it goes for $400 and will be available in the beginning of November. Mark it down. Because it rhymes. It's pop stop. Finally, the cats are getting some recognition. Starbucks announced their new Halloween drinks. And one of them is the black cat Frappuccino blended beverage. And like the ad that they did to promote it is super cool. It has like a cat knocking it over. Okay, is it four cats? No. It's for humans. No, also, that's another thing. We need a pop cup for cats. Thank you. Our cats allowed to have whipped cream. Isn't that what a pop cup is? It's just like the cream, the foam or whatever. I don't know. Don't ask your daughter. Yeah. Do not give your cats any foreign foods based on our conversations here on the morning show podcast. Thank you. And enjoy your day. If you watch the video, Starbucks posted it's the best because a cat literally just knocks over the Frappuccino as they would. But what is in this drink? It's a chocolate cake flavored cream Frappuccino drink topped with whipped cream and chocolate shaped cat ears. Okay. So I'm going to be trying that one. I'll give it a try.

Those launch on October 22nd, which I feel like is way too late in the Halloween season. Like what are they doing? They're already doing pumpkin spice, right? I know. May as well just launch it. But before then, they're launching some new merch. There's a black cat mug, a cauldron mug, a black cat stainless steel cold cup, and a black cat bear, Reese the plush bag charm. The basic bees are going to be in basic bee heaven. Oh, yeah. In what has to be one of the weirdest professional sports scheduling decisions ever in America, at least, the WNBA is coming back on Thursday. They only have about four days left or four games left per team in their regular season. And they had just gone on a two week break. And if you're wondering to yourself, well, why would a professional league in the United States go on a two week break right before their regular season ended? And that is because the FIBO World Championship was going on. So the WNBA took a break to allow their players to go play in this global tournament.

And I am happy to report that on Sunday evening, Team USA did bring home the gold over team France. But this end to the season is actually very weird for the WNBA because at this point, all of the playoff teams are already decided. So if you're not one of the top eight teams in the league, you kind of came back for four games that don't matter to you at all. The only thing that matters is this specific seeding of some of these top eight teams. So the games do have to be played out. And if you were not paying attention earlier in the year, your top eight seeds are the links, the Valkyries, Aces, Dream, Fever, Liberty, Mystics, and in the eighth and final playoff spot, the Dallas Wings. Thanks for listening to the Morning Show podcast. Catch Carla Marie and Anthony live on Twitch. Twitch.tv slash Carla Marie and Anthony. This normally doesn't happen, but as we bring episode 1000 and 36 to a close, Carla Marie has a list of comments about our podcast that I have not seen yet.

So yesterday, we asked everyone to comment and let us know why they so listen to the Morning Show podcast. We need a little ego boost, you know? So a Javier commented and said, I've begruntingly been listening since Anthony left our podcast week A Wednesday to start Monday. As with most things that have comments on our content, that is 100% false. Okay, but there are a lot of true comments. Okay. They're amazing. Fred, who I said he's been listening since 2014. So as J. Hope and listening since 2014, like a lot of OG, Monday, Friday people are just like, yeah, I've just, I've been with you the whole time. Like where else am I going to go? I can't quit you. But then there's Megan who said, I don't like watching the news. I haven't watched the news since 2020. So you guys are my source. A lot of people say in weird their main source for the news. How do we get like an Edward R. Murrow award? They don't give it to people like us. I can guarantee you that. There's Brin. She said, I've been listening to this podcast since episode one, but I've been a listener since you started in Seattle on Power 93.

She said, RIP, I love this podcast because it's the quickest and most entertaining way to get in all types of news as I start my morning. Radio shows have so many ads. I know you kind of said 93, 3 RIP with the question mark there. It is actually RIP. That station no longer exists. We were actually, this is one of the craziest things. The only morning show to ever exist on that specific radio station. We turned it on and we turned it off. It's a sports station now though. Yes. The number is still there. I mean, we got 20 something comments. You should go read them. I will. Thank you very much to everyone who commented. You can still do that by the way. You can tell us why you listen or how long you've been listening in the comment section here on Spotify or feel free to email us. You're Anthony someone. The call commented and said that she loves this podcast because it's the new version of 1010 wins. I'll take that shout out to all the people in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut who understand that reference. As always, thank you for listening to the podcast. We appreciate you. We appreciate you pressing all those buttons to get here.

We'll take a quick break and then we are back in your ears tomorrow with the Wednesday show. Looking for links we mentioned today. Go to the morning show podcast.com.
