“What's it like to buy a car from Carvana or 100% online and get it delivered to your door? Hey, have you always been so big tall and handsome?”From the transcript
Can Christians believe in UFOs and so-called aliens and still be Christian? Yes, said Derrick Warfel, author of "UFOs and GOD," and creator of a documentary of the same name. The devil is in the details, so to speak, and of tantamount importance, he said, is to realize that these supposed aliens are actually demonic — they're part and parcel of the descriptions of the supernatural within the Bible.

That's the topic of today's bold and blunt. And I'm your host, Cheryl Jomley, giving you a Christian conservative look at today's news, politics, culture, and events. Take a listen to some of these recent headlines. This one, August 26, 2026. So this year, Scientific American. More Americans believe the government is withholding information about UFOs.
Another one from Yuga, a Yuga survey. This is November 25, 2025. Half of Americans believe aliens have visited Earth. And this one from Pew Research Center, June 30, 2021. Most Americans believe in intelligent life beyond Earth. Well, what about if you're a Christian? What about if you believe in biblical truths and what the Bible teaches you? Where do UFOs, where do aliens, where do supernatural beings fit into that? That belief. And that really is, to me, the most interesting part of the discussion. And before I get into more of that, I'd like to quickly mention if you like bold and blunt, and I'm pretty sure you do, or you wouldn't be listening right now. And you can get bold and blunt wherever podcasts are available. So let's dig a little deeper into what Americans really think about UFOs and space aliens
and all that stuff going out on in New Mexico, right? August 26 of this year, this is a survey from Gallup. Americans still skeptical that UFOs are aliens. 49% Gallup finds attribute UFOs to human activity or natural phenomena. 37% say at least some are alien spacecraft. All right, let's read a little bit about half of Americans. Think all UFO sightings can be explained by human activity on Earth or natural phenomenon. Well, 37% believe at least some UFOs have been alien spacecraft visiting Earth from other planets or galaxies. Another 13% do not have an opinion. Okay, how can you not have an opinion on that?
I mean, seriously, do you believe in UFOs? Well, I have no opinion. Really? Let's think about it just a little bit. Anyhow, these findings come as the Pentagon continues to release previously classified UFO files under President Donald Trump's executive order. And, you know, most of the, most of the release of these documents have really fallen off the radar of media coverage. And I think that's in part because there's nothing that's really shocking. It's not like area 51 has been announced as the congregation place for all the bodies of the spacemen that have dropped to Earth when their UFOs crashed, right? There's nothing real shocking going on out there to report on. But at least President Trump did do what he said he would do and release some of the classified documents about these UFO files. All right, back to Galapagno.
Americans were also more inclined to associate UFOs with Earthly than supernatural causes. The two prior times Galap measured this, although the alien skeptical share was higher in 2019 at 60 percent than in 2021 at 50 percent and today. Meanwhile, rather than becoming increasingly convinced that some sightings have been alien spacecraft, the percentage of Americans who are unsure has grown from 7 percent in 2019 to 13 percent in 2026. And yet, half of Americans you go found believe aliens have visited Earth. And most Americans, Pew Research Center reported believe in intelligent life beyond Earth.
You see UFOs as a major national security threat, Pew also found. So let me read a little bit from this 2021 survey of Pew because Pew does a tremendous job about making sure their surveys adhere to solid statistical standards. As an unprecedented US intelligence report, Pew wrote in 2021, brings new attention to the phenomenon phenomenon. You know, I say that word and I think of what was it? The Muppets, not Sesame Street, I think it was the Muppets, Monomonaut. Do you remember those? The Monomonauts? Every time I hear that word, my mind goes there. So if there's a little pause when I say phenomenon, that's why. Of identified unidentified flying objects, UFOs, about 2 thirds of Americans 65 percent say their best guess
is that intelligent life exists on other planets. Pew Research Center went on to say a smaller but still sizable share of the public or 51 percent says that UFOs reported by people in the military are likely evidence of intelligent life outside Earth. Most of this sentiment comes from people who say that military reported UFOs are probably evidence of extraterrestrial life, 40 percent think that, rather than definitely such evidence, 11 percent think that. Well, isn't that interesting? Perhaps not surprisingly, Pew found those who think there is intelligent life outside Earth are more inclined than others to see military reports of UFOs as evidence. Well, that makes sense, right? Because why would the military lie about that, right?
And it's not as if all those who report seeing UFOs are tinfoil hat wearing nut jobs. There are some notable and very well esteemed officials over the years and decades who have reported similarly and that's what keeps I think all this talk about UFOs alive. But when you're looking at it from a biblical perspective, how do you justify? If you're a believer in UFOs, which really UFOs doesn't necessarily mean little green men from another planet, right? It just means unidentified flying object until that object is identified and classified, it goes under the umbrella of UFO. So there may be things flying from other nations across America's skies that are identified, such as the case when Joe Biden was president and those balloons were floating curiously nearby America's military bases
only later to be identified as China's properties. Remember that? Remember 2023 when those balloons flew across Canada, Alaska, and entered US airspace, and coincidentally flying right over military sites and silos and sensitive areas in America? Well, technically you could call those unidentified flying objects until they weren't, right? So how to sort of make sense of the Bible and biblical truths if you happen to believe in UFOs though? If you happen to believe in the supernatural, which if you are a reader of the Bible and you are a believer and you do follow God's truths and His Word, you know a supernatural world definitely exists. Angels, demons, that's all part of the supernatural, right?
And that's all in the Bible. It's not just mythology, it's not just children's stories, it's not fabrications fantasy made up, it's truthful, and it's part of the human experience. So if you do believe in the Bible and God, then how are you supposed to from a biblical perspective, regard UFOs, regard, I guess, reports of supernatural activity and mysterious activity in the skies above America? Well, my guest today has some insights into that, and I'm very happy to say that my guest today is here to discuss just that Derek, Derek, Warful, I want to thank you so much for being on Bold and Blunt, so great to have you here. Thank you for having me. I'm very interested in discussing this new book that you have because the title is fascinating. UFOs and God, what led you to write that book in the first place?
Well, I guess, you know, I come from a Christian background and I just see there's a lot of confusion about this subject, and I hear, excuse me for saying this, but what I see is just kind of a lot of nonsense that's out there. You know, there's things that just can't possibly be and the people are spouting them, like basically these are intergalactic visitors, and the truth of the matter is there's several reasons why that's almost just impossible. We talked to an astrophysicist who said, the Earth is so unique, there's just no other planet like it. I mean, there's all kinds of scientists saying, just to you, you have a planet and a star and it probably has water, therefore there's going to be life there, and there's like about 14 different highly distinct conditions that make Earth extremely unique for advanced carbon-based life like ours. The second reason is the distances are too great. I mean, the closest star to us is 1.3 light years away, Alpha Centurion. That's 20, was it 25 trillion miles? You know, and we can't travel at the speed of light, and nothing goes faster than the speed of light.
And even our galaxy, the Milky Way is 150,000 light years wide. It takes 150,000 years just for a radio signal to get across the galaxy. So the idea of intergalactic travel is just kind of crazy in the last. It's just the possibility of evolution happening just once in this universe to let us all say it happened twice. The odds against it are just 10 to the 556 power to one just for simple bacterium. So when you say that intergalactic life visited us, that's just like us, it doesn't make sense. So, you know, we have a different viewpoint of what it is. So when people talk about UFOs and aliens nowadays, the common idea is, you know, to, I guess, to just bring it down to its base form, little green men from different planets, right? So you say that's nonsense. Now, let's move beyond that and talk about some of the sightings that people have seen from astronauts to presidents reading material on UFOs.
To really understand what UFOs actually are, they're just simply unidentified flying objects doesn't necessarily mean aliens. True, absolutely. In fact, the people who study this say that 99% of what people say are UFOs are in fact just that. They're just things that we already know about natural terrestrial things, planet stars, walks of birds, lights from shot against the earth, optical illusions, balloons, blimps, aircraft, hoaxes, men with dysfunction. I mean, literally 99% of them don't even qualify as, I mean, they're just something we can't identify. And there's really only 1% that really are hard to be identified. I mean, now we talk to a radar operator and one of the Navy ships that tracked one of these things for three days. And I mean, pretty convincing. I mean, they tracked it with radar, infrared radar, video, and these craft could do things that nothing we have could do even the Chinese or Russians.
I mean, they can drop 28,000 feet to sea level, unless in a second stop on a dime. We don't have anything that can do anything like that. And they can travel 40,000 to 200,000 miles an hour and disappear. So something is going on. Now, as I said, most of the cases sightings are just that. They're sightings and they're not really, they can be explained in other ways. But there's 1% that just can't and they don't seem to follow our laws of physics. They enter our atmosphere and travel with these speeds with no sonic boom and with no jet blue. So how do you explain that? Well, let's zero in on that 1% then because your background, as you said, your Christian and your background is you have a master of theology from Dallas, the logical seminary of a BA in psychology from Princeton. So you're not coming at this from just a conspiracy type angle. You're looking at it from a scientific fact-based angle and that 1%. What's your takeaway from it?
Well, I think, you know, the thing is this every single culture, every single religion for all of human history except the 20th century has believed that we share this universe, this world with supernatural beings. Now, in the 20th century, you know, we're scientists, we're, you don't believe in those things anymore. But I mean, you know, everybody has a ghost story, a polver guy story. It goes all the way back to the ancient Egyptian gods, the ancient Near Eastern gods, the Arabic, Jin, the fairies in New England, the Gargles. I mean, basically, there have we've been interacting with supernatural beings in our world for thousands of years. And that's what I believe this is. It's simply those beings that certainly the Bible talks about, Bible calls most of them angels, some of them demons, some of them fallen angels, that literally they have been out to deceive us for thousands of years.
And there's examples of this. There's holy angels that can do things we can't do. You know, we've got just an example, a clear example is when everybody knows about the Christmas angels that sang in the sky over the shepherds in the fields at night, they were not there, and they're there, and then they're gone. Where did they go? I mean, did they just vanish or disappear? Did they go to another galaxy? No, we believe that literally they went to another dimension, dimension of the Bible, close heaven or the third heaven or something like that. It's beyond what is, in other words, if it's another dimension, it's literally, it could be right beside us. And we can't see it. If you imagine a sixth dimension will be entering the third dimension, they appear to us, and then they go back to the sixth or the ninth dimension, and they seem to disappear.
But they can be right here. One of the people we interviewed is a guy called Blake Healy, and basically he was born, or at least for a part of his early life, had the ability to see these supernatural beings in everyday life. And it was driving him nuts, and at a certain point, he got faith, and it stopped. So I'm really happy to hear your explanation about the biblical basis and what it all means, and really the commonplace of humans interacting with the supernatural, as you said, since it dawned on a time practically. The question I have, though, is you referenced an incident a few minutes ago about a spacecraft that did things that no known science can explain. So my question is, if these are angels or demons, why would they travel into spacecraft? Well, you know, I don't fully know. Right.
All I can say is that before God created man, he created a whole species of beings called angels, watchers, sons of God, whatever you want to call it, and they have all the abilities that we have in more. In fact, they are far more intelligent, far more powerful than we are. I think that, you know, it seems like most of the angels do not need a machine to get around, but they could build one if they wanted to. However, you know, the fallen angels, those who've rejected God, the further away they got from God, the less their supernatural abilities might have deteriorated, or more they have deteriorated. Like for instance, as we get older, we need wheelchairs sometimes because we can't walk as well. You know, I don't fully know. I mean, the Bible kind of gives examples of that even in the holy angelic realm, if you remember, the chariots of fire, of Elijah being taken up in a chariot.
Well, a chariot might be a way to describe an advanced spacecraft, or in a Zeduel one, there's the example of angels working with a machine that has wheels and wheels. Yes. You know, so it appears to me that there's examples that God has used machines, although it may be that the angelic realm, basically angelic realm started out with all holy angels. And at one point in time, one third of them decided to rebel against God, and they've been in a room with God and with us and with the holy angels ever since. And it's just like a leaf. When the leaf falls off a tree, it looks exactly like the leaf on the tree, but the further it drops away from its source of life, it starts to get brittle and decrepit. And I think that some of these beings had lost some of the abilities they had to travel without aid. That's interesting. And you know, I wasn't asking that question as a gotcha question. It just sprung to mind. And I was interested in here in your response, because I actually agree with you.
I think it's more unscientific to disregard, dismiss, and deny the existence of the supernatural than it is scientific. And it's because of this enlightenment type intellectual atmosphere that we live in today, correct? Yeah. And also there's an assumption within evolution and within science that is really not scientific, it's just an assumption. And that is that only the material physical world exists. There is no spiritual world. There is no spirit after death. There are no supernatural beings. It starts with that assumption. And so these beings to them must come from another planet or galaxy because there is no other supernatural dimension or heaven or God. Or whatever. So I think it's partly because they're starting with an assumption that I believe is wrong. And people have been criticized for it. Like if you're really scientific, you want to look at all the facts. You don't want to just eliminate certain facts because you don't like them. I get it. There's not Zeus on the top of metal of this throwing light and bolts. I really, there's a lot of superstitious that came in through religion.
And in fact, I was in Greece at Mount Olympus a while back and asked the people there. Have you ever seen any gods up there? And they said, no, you know, so I think there's some good things. But I think it's kind of like throwing the baby out with the bath. There is a supernatural will and you need to recognize it. And by not recognizing it, you fall prey to these beings. And I say these beings are evil beings. They're the fallen angels. And I say that because they hurt people. They say we're not going to hurt you. Then they take you up into their beings. Or they take over your mind. And then they hurt you. And they, I mean, the one thing that got me upset about disclosure day. It talked about the only people that were being abused in this relationship with the gray aliens and humans were the gray aliens. And we have countless examples of my book. And in the film of people whose lives were been destroyed by his next with these beings. And in fact, the people just who've seen the beings and had expanded on that with looking at spacecraft have had headaches fever, nose bleed palpitations, burn skin, nightmare, brain problems. I mean, it goes on. This is from a scientific study. It's not just my reading stuff. So there are beings that have, and as far as a Christian, the other thing that scared me and the one I wanted to do it is because when people have communicated with them, they don't communicate by talking out loud.
They communicate thought to thought. They deny everything in the Christian doctor. They deny the existence of a personal God. They deny that Jesus is God's son. They did. If there's no personal God, there's no sin. If there's no sin, there's no judgment. There's no need for a savior. They believe that the answer to life is reincarnation. I mean, this sounds exactly out of new age philosophy. And to kick it off, the one thing that people found they have to use to connect, to communicate with them are weachy boards, which is right out of the occult. So this is a very dangerous group of beings. And I think that basically I get it. People say, yeah, let's get that. I mean, you want to be the person for another planet. But the danger is significant. So Derek, how did you come out this? What's your background in faith and science? Were you born into a family of Christian belief? Did it come later in life? Were you agnostic of one period? Just a brief rundown of how you arrived at all this?
Sure. Well, I mean, I grew up in a Christian family. I went to a church, came to the Christian faith when I was younger. But when I got to college, you know, I mean, people challenged me and said, why do you believe these outdated myths? And that's sent me in a series of years of doing explanations and study to see if there was anything to the Christian faith through was just made up. And I walked away realings as I studied the life of Jesus Christ. I studied miracles in the Bible. I studied the unique prophecies in the Bible. It was just hard to explain them away as just coincidences. And I came to a, and of course, my personal faith is it changed my life as well. I've seen examples where God is interacted with me in terms of working in people's lives. I had a friend who was an alcoholic and it was just hopeless. I had nothing I could do. But through prayers and whatever, this person got turned around. You know, I've just seen, you know, in other people's lives changes. And I even spent a whole chapter at the end of the book. I say, look, I believe most people reading this, we are going to buy the same principles that I buy into. But read the last chapter. I have an appendix where I go through all the reasons why I believe this is the best explanation for what you see in the world today.
And last question, Derek, because I know that we're running out of time. If you're Christian listening to this, you already mentioned that these beans are dangerous. But you shouldn't fear. You're coming to buy God in the Bible. Do not fear. Do not fear. So how should Christians regard this information that you present? I have a whole chapter, a couple chapters on spiritual warfare because Fusion 612 says we don't struggle against flesh and blood against principalities, powers, world forces of darkness, spiritual forces of wickedness and heavenly places. So I think that these are four different ranks of angelic beans that are seeking to destroy us. Jesus says to kill, steal and destroy. And basically, the answer is pretty simple. He is the creator of all things. And if you call in Jesus name, he'll protect you. In fact, we have an example in the film of one guy who's being raised off the bed. He's got to go with these beans either mentally or physically. And he doesn't want to go and he just yells out.
Jesus helped me. And at that moment, he falls back on the bed. And we have examples of guys who are ex-accounts, leaders for people who've been manipulated by these beans and they were set free. And we have examples in the film. And in fact, what are the people who worked on the film as a person who had those experiences? So yeah, so that's another reason why. You know, why would these are features from other galaxy would they just call out Jesus name and all of a sudden let people go? I mean, there's something spiritual here, an order of priorities and powers that, you know, it says Jesus when he was resurrected from the dead. Not only was raised from the dead, but he was seated at the right hand of God far above all rule, all authority and every name that's named. And so we call upon him and we can be set free. Derek, I feel like we're just getting started. It's time to go. So we're working people find more about you mentioned a film and I assume UFOs and God your book is available on Amazon, but give your website your info.
Sure, it's UFOs and God book.com and the film is UFOs and God.com. The film comes out September 11th. The book comes out August 25th. And you can pre-order it now though, but yeah, the book is 350 pages. I go into all these things that don't have time to go into. And the film is great because we actually interview people who have had connections with these beings and they tell you exactly what their experiences stuff you'll never see in disclosure day from Spielberg. So anyway, so yeah, please, please check it out. Thank you for having me on and I hope this helps people, but check us out. Please, there's much of freebies on the website. Is your film free and is your book written in layman's or scientific? We're commercial. Yeah, yeah. I mean, the film, the film is just going to be like on Amazon or something you can render by it and Amazon or iTunes or something like that. The book is Barnes and Noble. I think it's 28 bucks for the hardback. I think it's $15 for the for the digital.
Yeah, we visit layman's or is it very scientific? Is it layman's language? Easy read? No, I wrote it. I'm not a scientist per se. I mean, we interviewed a lot of people. No, I tried to make it very conversation. In fact, I say that right at the beginning of the book. I said, look, this is not going to be written like a textbook. It's conversational. I'll say, well, then why must that happen? And then I'll try to answer it, you know, I tried to make it. I tried it as a filmmaker for 40 years. I tried to make things entertaining, but also get it positive. Very cool topic. Derek Warful. I want to thank you so much for being on Bolden Blonde. Thanks for your time. Thanks for having me on.
