いい小児科医は歴史家でなければならない
松田 道雄（まつだ みちお、１９０８年１０月２６日 – １９９８年６月１日）は日本の医師・育児評論家・歴史家。
親がいらいらして子どもにたいして平常心をもてないために子どもが緊張し、それが症状に出る。小児科医は診察を通じてその親子の格闘と成長を見つめ、励ましながら伴走する役割を持っている。主治医とは患者の歴史の目撃者であり、教訓の抽出者である。特に小児科医には子どもだけでなく親も含めた親子の歴史についての観察力が必要なのだろう。いい小児科医が歴史家であるとは虚をつかれる思いがするが、慧眼という外はない。
