Welcome back everybody to the football guys daily update. You give us 10 minutes. We'll give you everything you need to know to make you the most informed fantasy football manager in your league. I'm Mike Dempsey along with football guys own Bob Harris Bob. Welcome to opening day tonight. A Super Bowl rematch. We've got Seattle. We've got New England. New England does not have Travian Henderson ruled out for week one. So Bob, where does Ramondra Stevenson rank among running backs in your initial weekly rankings? Look, clarity is all we could ask for in certain volume is a thing. Stevenson's going to get that. Well, Seattle has a very tough defense. They've allowed NFL low 17 point two points per game last season ranked among the league leaders against both the run of the past. Stevenson's a solid running back to I have him is running back 19 in my ranking. He said, I'm not as bullish as our projections team who has him is running back 16. And while we're all impressed by Henderson's pure speed advanced metric show. Stevenson's breakaway run rate is nearly identical to the younger man. So I think he's a solid play this week. Solid running back to.

All right on the Seattle side who would help Henderson excuse me, Stevenson. If Nick Mennwari can't go, he is questionable for the Seahawks. So it's Tori Horton for this game. We know Zach Charbonne is on short term IR, but they say he's gotten an aggressive time table to return. But in his absence, Bob, what is running back George O'Lane's value this week and for the first month of the year? I think he's a running back for level play. Maybe has some flex values and emergencies projected is running back 45 on football guys. Might not want to play him, but you certainly could assume you're in a PPR league where we're hardly rewarded for the receiving role. But yeah, I'm not eagerly playing him. This would be a bit of an emergency situation. All right, let's take a look in Arizona, Bob, where the initial depth chart comes out for the season. And Tyler Alger is number one at running back ahead of Jeremiah Love. If they're both active this week and you only have room for one, which one is the better play this week? Well, I think, you know, it's got to be out here this week.

I mean, he's not coming off of sprained ankle. He's been listed as a starter all summer as well. And even though you can make an argument and the argument here is the Cardinals will likely be passing to keep pace for the charge's offense going up against an Arizona defense that allowed what nearly 29 points of game last season. They were 29th in the league in that regard surrendered 230 passing yards, 126 rushing guards per game. This might be a game where the Cardinals are passing a lot. So even the running angle might not work out for Alger that well. So, but he would be my choice ahead of love until I get a little more clarity on his ankle. Well, we know the choice in the Jets backfield is Breeze Hall and he is trending towards playing Bob. Do you expect him to get a full workload in week one? That's my expectation has been that since initial reports indicated the growing injury wasn't serious. I think this has been another case of a team playing it safe with a key performer halls considered a vital to New York's revamped offense under new coordinator Frank Reich. And he was paid like at this off season. So I have hall is running back 14 in my initial rankings.

He's running back 13 in the football guys projections and Braille and Hall's healthy and ready for all coming off last year season ending knee injury. Isaiah Davis returned to practice this week. So the Jets will have depth, but I'm not expecting a time share. Alright, let's talk about a time share potentially in Jacksonville the Jags initial backfield depth chart was basal toot and or Chris Rodriguez as the starter sports illustrators John Shipley thinks that neither will run 4,000 yards at the both top 750 this year Bob. We talked about what a great value Chris Rodriguez has appeared to be all throughout draft season. His ADP remains in the double digit rounds, but is toot and danger of being one of the most overdraft and running backs or you downplay this. I would I'm not downplaying it, but I mean, you know, and by the way, if Rodriguez Rodriguez cash cash cash is in on the gold line role. We all expect him to have. And then yes, he's going to be one of the best values as you said going into double digit rounds for the most part. But to never really broke into running back to territory terms of average draft position.

You're just outside that tier of the whole summer and why doesn't seem likely in the moment injuries or other circumstances could change that he could be, you know, he could be the primary back very quickly. So I'm not ready to give up, but yes, he's he's in danger of being that. All right, let's take a look at the Giants ESPN's Dan Graziano believes that Malik neighbors is good to go for week one Bob. Where did neighbors come in among wide receivers in your final draft rankings? I had him as wide receiver 14 to spots behind his final ADP is wide receiver 12. I think it's still possible. He delivers a great season, even a super high end season, but even a very good campaign will make the price heading into the season. He was going into two three turn and by the way, other reporters there are saying the same thing Connor Hughes of SMY TV thinks it would that it would take a setback for neighbors not to be ready week one. All right, taking a look at the Green Bay Packers backfield Bob the reports that the team will start off in kind of a running back by committee to see what they have.

This is according to Green Bay's offensive coordinator Adam Stenevich and you know, obviously we think Marshall Lloyd who get the first opportunity, but could this just simply be a hot hand or is this. You know, be careful how aggressive you get with Lloyd near your lineups early in the season probably that I think is initial football guys projection has him is running back 24 the tail end of the running back to. Injury history aside in that history alone was suggesting setting expectations low, I don't think the potential split backfield is a primary concern at least this week. Even if they won't say it we've been told by people who covered the team on a daily basis this summer that he's the primary ball carrier with Josh Jacobs out so there are however questions along Godfnick's line injuries have been an issue and the depth upfront could be tested. All right moving along here to Miami wide out Chris Bell listed as a starting wide receiver for the Dolphins offense on their week one depth chart Bob as he worked a pick and redraft I see him go undrafted in recent days in some 14 team leagues.

Yeah, I think that's probably what you're going to see and I don't know that I would be drafting them I might throw a light light round flyer based on this information I mean. You know somebody of Miami's going to be wide receiver one right is worth watching that being proactive on your waiver wire if you didn't draft them to see if we get immediate signs that felt could be that and that seems like a legitimate possibility despite being drafting the third round he was viewed as more of a late round late first round early second round prospect but he fell into draft duty injury and likelihood that he would miss some portion to the 2026 season now it looks like he won't. All right chiefs head coach Andy Reid said there's a good chance Patrick Mahomes will start week one against the Broncos I feel like that's a mortal certainty I think he took all the first team reps throughout training camp Bob doesn't seem like there's any chance Mahomes sits what are your expectations for Patrick Mahomes not only this week but for 2026 him playing has been my expectations is surgery. It was just a surgery without a hitch and he be angry having like a man possess to be on the field for this Monday night opener I think overall his current ADP is going like as a high end quarterback do I think that's probably about right I don't know that I want to start him every week but I think I could play him remember a lot of his value last year came from his career highs and rushing and and it was very impressive I don't think he'll be repeating that this year.

All right we continue along here with your football guys daily update Chicago coach Ben Johnson said Roma Dunes day to day didn't practice yesterday Bob are you worried about his week one productivity even if he does play. Yeah I mean Johnson said he's hopeful that Dunsay will be available in Carolina the football guys projection is wide received for 30 which I think is fair but I might avoid him if I had an option like let's say Quentin Johnson going against the Cardinals or Juan Ville Robinson going against the Jets among others I mean I would be I would be taking a case by case whether I force it on Zagin to align up. Take it a look at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers they listed Jalen McMillan is a starting receiver ahead of Ted Hurst who had some buzz in the preseason Bob his first worth a redraft roster spot in the 12 team lead. Well I can take with the Mika Buka Jalen McMillan dealing with injuries to the summer Hurst got a lot of opportunities and gave the front office some proof that he could be used this year but he'll be behind those guys and Chris Godwin so if all three remain healthy Hurst probably won't be fantasy relevant but keep him keep him also on the waiver wire watch list and move proactively if one of the three ahead of him gets hurt.

Yeah I'll note Baker may feel degree to a three or contract extension worth an average of 55 million per year the L.H. Chargers listed Charlie Colar as their number one tight end on the week one depth chart Bob does he have any fantasy value. Absolutely. Colar is considered the best blocking tight end and football so he has great value to a Mario and Hampton investors up besides that. He can catch the football we see that and if his blocking the building keeps him on the field opportunities in the passing game could arise. He's another one to put on your watch list and I think probably have him ahead of a rendez-gadden for right now. All right and quickly Aaron Rogers of the Steelers says temper expectations for Rocky White receiver Jeremy Bernard Bob what about Roman Wilson who Rogers praised throughout camp. He did except for three different times is over the summer metal airs led directly to turnovers Rogers called them out on one of those so I expect I expect Wilson will get the first shot at the third receiving job. But we don't have a ton of evidence suggesting he's capable delivering at the required level I hope he's successful but I'd like to see it before I buy it.
