How's it going? 20 we have to turn in our score predictions for the Ohio State Kent State game and I am absolutely absolutely terrified that you and I are going to turn in the exact same score for the third straight week. I think I'm thinking about doing the Ross Fulton thing where I pick a really weird number where it's like yeah, Ohio State is going to score 63 and a half points to Rutger or to Kent State's minus two just so we don't have exactly the same score from the third straight week. Throughout the show, I'm going to inception you and to predicting a different score than me for a change but

4:19we will see because again, there's a lot of numbers out there. You'd think that we could find different ones and maybe we will this time but this show today is you know you can't learn a lot from the Kent State game but there's still some things that we want to see so we're going to talk about those things because it won't mean much if you see them, it'll mean more if you don't which would be the concerning thing. So this is almost like just making sure everything is still potentially there and because if you don't see it then it's like that that is a concern and for me, my number one thing, nothing number one thing but the thing I wrote down first is wanting to see Chris Julian saying, get back to being automatic, get back to being a robot, get back to being the most accurate quarterback in a nation because that's not what he was on Saturday and that's not even when there was a bunch of pressure. Sometimes things were a little bit off. So I think getting back to this one just having the confidence to stay in there and assuming the Ohio State Office of Line protects him, just want to see him be that automatic guy again this week.

5:23Yeah and he should be. This is a game where he typically is like 80% completions, 85% completions and throws for 300 yards and throws for you know four or five touchdowns. I boldly predicted six in the bold prediction show but that's why that's bold and not the regular prediction show. So you know somewhere in that range don't throw it, don't throw an interception. Yeah just kind of yeah just just look like Julian saying again that would be yeah I think that's a good one and you know sort of similar well you mentioned the offensive line. You think the offensive line has to protect Julian saying I kind of want to see them open up some lanes in the running game because the running game was not as sharp as it you know probably should have been in the first half against ball state. I think it would probably be very good for Ohio State to just come out and just you don't need 80 yard runs but you'd love to see the line of scrimmage moving a few yards down field and just real consistent five six seven eight yard runs just okay boom it's first and 10 it's second and two it's second and two it's first and 10 six yards down the field just

6:27not a lot of twos and threes you need I'd like to see some kind of mid to high single digit numbers on that stat sheet kind of consistently in the ground game. Yeah and this would be a game where like under urban with the running quarterback you'd have 300 yards rushing and I think it would be good to see them get to that number in this game as well and it's been the last time they hit 300 yards rushing was 2022 against Indiana you may remember them from such things as being bad at one point in time at a long point in time a long stretch. Back when Indiana was a Mac level school and nothing has changed since then. Yeah and just where it's just dominating and it's not the running numbers aren't built up by there is a 60 yard or there's a 50 yard but in between there's a lot of twos and threes. Let's see seven to 12 like consistently and I think they should and if they don't then again that's a little bit of a concern. They would like to see more usage of

7:29the rest of the wide receivers and I assume we will we saw it against ball state get those guys more involved frankly I want to see Brock Boyd and Chris Henry Jr more involved get those guys as an active part of the offense not just as blockers or just running routes while Julian saying looks forward for Jeremiah Smith get those guys involved get them to ball let's see what they can do because you know maybe there wasn't the confidence to go to them against Texas find that cohesion so that there's confidence to go get go to them against Iowa Illinois organ Indiana. Yeah I would like to see I mean I would like to see a big game for Devon McEun in this one where you know he's he's kind of viewed as the second banana but can he can he have a big day where it's he you know he had what 93 97 yards whatever it was again. But before something in that range let's see another big day out of him let's see a big day out of Brandon and in this because Brandon and in this seem like he was on his way to a big day against ball state and then just kind of got

8:29banged up and didn't play nearly as much in the second half he's someone who there were times in that game against Texas where you thought you know someone else didn't catch a pass and it's like I think Brandon is what a caught that pass I think I think I'd like to see big days out of Devon McEun and Brandon in this and you know that that might just be 120 yards and 60 or 70 yards something like that but just see those guys get four or five catches something like that and then yeah let's see what Chris Henry can do let's see what Brock Boyd can do because those are guys who you get the sense those are guys who are going to be playing bigger roles as the season goes along and they were already playing at Texas so that tells you the coaching staff trust them to take on a bigger role so okay now now you have this week for sure and then maybe next week against Illinois to sort of have a little bit more margin for error before you go up go on the road again to to Iowa. About legend Bay let's see more from legend Bay got the the seven carries six of them came

9:31against ball state we saw him once on the backwards pass against Texas get him back into the flow of the offense let him get out there and make plays get him back there on kickoff return because this is again he needs to as Ryan Day said on Wednesday continue to build up the trust give him a chance and maybe this is a practice thing where they felt the Texas game was just too much for him based on what they had seen in practice because I'm guessing if they had seen more in practice from him then they would be convinced that he was okay and good to go against Texas so not putting him out there aside from the one play in his in the package that they are building for him let you know maybe there's still some concerns or whatever they may be so now let him get going let him feel those the the game reps and build from there and see continue to see the potential of what he adds to this offense and you know this is not offense but it's offense adjacent I think part of building trust between legend Bay and the coaching staff is if Kent state has a kicker that can

10:35kick at six yards deep into the end zone on the probably one kickoff that you're going to get a chance to field don't run that out and if you do you better run it back a hundred and six yards but but if you if you're not going to run back a hundred and sixty yards don't run it out of the end zone because that didn't go great the first couple times did it against ball state so you know I think it's just kind of like make good decisions because you know if he gets a ball in space against the team with a defense the caliber of Kent state he's probably going to do some cool stuff but I think it's kind of decision making holding on to the football that kind of stuff from him that you know they should have it felt like they should have played him more and there was probably a reason they did not play him more so you know maybe he was promised he would play against Texas and it's like all right you played against Texas you got the ball against Texas one one once but you got the ball against Texas so yeah I think I think legend Bay is someone I think legend Bay someone that everyone would like to see legend Bay is probably near the top of the list for a lot of people in terms of what they would like to see in this game this is mine is it

11:39mine is not going to be one that is quite as normy I'd love to see some good blocking from the tight ends this week because it felt like Nate Roberts Nate Roberts I felt like I had a pretty good game mentioned Williams I think an okay game against Texas and we're talking blocking but there were some blocks from the tight ends that I kind of went like that's not that's not going to get it done in a game of this caliber and they've got a lot of games that are sort of in the neighborhood of that kind of game you know that kind of caliber of game and so I think if you'd like to be playing more than two tight ends I'd like to see some of the other tight ends blocking better this week to show that they deserve another chance to play in a game of that caliber because if not if this is you know you're gonna start the season with a lot of guys playing in this game and a lot of guys touching the ball in this game as you get further in the season the competition gets better that that rotation is gonna narrow probably a little bit and so like let's if you think you want to be out there let's see what that looks like yeah and this is an opportunity for Hunter

12:40Wilson Max LaBlanc to maybe display that I could be the third tight end you know sure everything is ranked and graded in practice and so those ranks and grades are put on the field by who's playing in the games but now this is an opportunity this will be an opportunity for everybody to get some game time action and put some more stuff out there on film this is essentially batting practice and if you're just grounding out to the shortstop and batting practice pretty good chance that you're not even going to make contact in a game so you need to you know at least some warning track power and these in these games for the tight ends and they're blocking and I would say the same thing in terms of the the past blocking as well but let there should be no reason that the quarterbacks aren't comfortable in this game and you see a couple of failures here and there from one player or another you know filibraniel's most likely not playing so Austin Cerevelle at right tackle and you know this is going to be a huge opportunity for game Ben Cycle again to

13:46show that I can be that sixth man I can hey if things go well I could be a part of the five man starting lineup if you would like to put Austin Cerevelle back at left tackle when filibraniel comes back I am providing you this opportunity to show like you know maybe that's something you might want to consider and and so like this is for for the offensive line just handling the blitzes handling the twist all sorts of those things because you figure Kent states got to do some different things to try to make anything happen so just be able to handle the kitchen sink for the offensive line yeah them handling guys just one on one that doesn't really show me anything because you should be able to handle those guys one on one I'm interested really in the stunts and the twist and do they pick guys up and you know there there was a ball state got a guy with a like a delayed blitz on a line from a linebacker green dog Tony is what that's called he was and it was just kind of like someone got to occupied with doubling a nose tackle and then the guy went right by him and
