About this episode

“This Friday returned to theaters for Avengers Endgame Encore. I've never really helped any pull off one last one. In that short time, time tends to mess back. Avengers Endgame Encore early theaters Friday. Maybe in a corporate version of their 13.”From the transcript
Let's preface this by pointing out that the Sooners did win. However, getting booed by your own fanbase is concerning. The defense was great, but once again the offense was just awful. From the indecisiveness in the run game to constant mistakes, the unit isn't good enough to play, let alone in the SEC. The road doesn't get any easier from here as a road game at Georgia and the Red River Rivalry await. Do the guys see any hope? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel for Ben Arbuckle's offense? Hut. Hut. Hit me. Oh yeah. That's what we call a sack lunch. Neat. No, no, no, no. It's time for theSunderscube.com post-game show presented by S.Krig's Lexus and Oklahoma City. S.Krig's Lexus is the official travel partner of SunderScube.com podcasts. Now here's your road crew. Cherry. Eddie. And Bob. Rapping up all the action and reaction from this week's game. All right, welcome back. It is the S.Krig's Lexus post-game podcast that we are here. Well this is a special time on the night. This is the hour where everybody is getting kicked out of campus corner. It's about 243. AM. And we can hear the people drunkenly leaving behind us. But they had good reason to drink tonight because OU football is a mess offensively.

And I want to start by saying this because I know a lot of people are talking about, you know, well, you soon are skipping you hype these guys up to be something like, I first off show us where we did that. Like that's my first thing. The other thing is like, I know you guys noticed this too. But like the fan base and the way that they were ready for this season, you guys traveled to Michigan. You saw all the people there. But just the people that we come across and that we run, like our subscription numbers, all that stuff, like it's in an all time high. Like we get, like I'm the last person you're going to find that's going to be like, oh, how dare they boo. And hearty boo. That was a good thing. I mean, it was a good boo. I was here at the office watching on TV. It was noticeably loud, like more than ever. They got booed on TV. They got booed in this locker room at halftime tonight, rightfully so. And I mean, guys, I get it. I get the frustrations. I get, I know how, I know what the fervor was.

You know, I know how excited you guys were for this season. And now to sit here, not one and two, which it feels like at two and one, and then you watch some of the UTEP game problem before this and Michigan ended up pulling that one out pretty good. But I think you said, I've heard you say this, you know, more times than anything else maybe tonight, like what happened to that UTEP offense? What happened to the people that took the field against UTEP? Where did they go? I think the anger and the disappointment that comes from the fan base and rightfully so that it was heard in the crowd the night. I think it's just, it's kind of at a point where we thought that this offense was going to be better. We thought it was going to be, you know, built around John Matieri. He had better assets around him. Good white receiver group of a night and day different tight end group. We saw that tonight. The, you know, running back situation, we thought was going to do better offensive line. Was going to return a lot of people. Like the bar minimum for success was low. And holy shit, they continued to fail.

Like it's, it's so bad. Can I ask you a question? Yeah. I'm going to OSU get an offensive line that they've had years of struggles with that play shitty against Tulsa and then get them to beat Oregon to me too. They got better. How does that happen? Like I, I don't know how that happens. I haven't seen that happen around here a lot. It hasn't happened. As George said on the Instagram reaction that you can watch here on the stutterscoupe.com YouTube channel. By the way, they also lost Jacob Sexton in the first game. He was their best offensive alignment. It's happened so quickly that everything that was maybe be gained in a way has now been lost. And not only are you back to questioning everything about the program in terms of kind of the direction of everything, but it's just, it's mind blowing how bad that offense was tonight that we've watched, how worse it was than what it was. Maybe one of the worst offenses that we had seen in the first half against Michigan. I'm jokingly. I've seen it on the post game last week like Seth LaTrell steps back. Like we're there now.

Like it's, it's just as bad as it ever was under Seth LaTrell. They're in a situation right now. I don't know if Ben Arbuckle makes it to the cotton bowl. I truly don't. I don't know if he should make it out to Georgia next week. Is that where you start? Ben Arbuckle? Yeah. I mean, I think you have to. Who's my thing with, with Arbuckle? And I'm sorry, keep jumping in. No, you're good. They have basically foisted an entire staff of audience. Voice is a good word. They've foisted a former offensive coordinator that's the legendary status here in Norman. Like, and they've foisted this improved running game on him. Like, have they allowed Ben Arbuckle to be who he really is as an offensive coordinator after last year? Are you asking me? I'm turned to you and I'm asking you a question. I don't know. It's all bad, Kerry. I'm so out on all of it. I just, I don't even, I get what you're saying and I think that at the heart of it, like,

if we want to get into this, why does this keep happening under Brent Vennibulls? Yeah. It's a good question. It's a fair question. It's a fair question. Tonight was the first night that he was, I felt like truly angry. And the question is, is it, he's hiring the wrong people? I think we all agreed. It's like, okay. He, he are the wrong person in South Latraal, right? And he knew it. Yeah. And he, and he put the bat, he put the wrong faith in Jackson Arnold at quarterback and you could live with that and say, okay, he made a mistake. Now, did he make a second mistake or is there something bigger where it just, it's systematic, it's just systematic. And I don't, and I don't, I don't want to say I know the answer because I don't, I don't, because part of me is wondering, well, maybe Ben Arbuckle is just in over his head and he's a young guy and, you know, Brent just made a bad hire again. And then that leads to another question of, do you like him make the next hire if they have to? Right. This is just, it's like, you're saying, but you're saying like, what, you're saying what

you're wondering is like, is it a systemic issue in terms of like, is Brent just never going to figure it out offensively? Well, what I'm wondering is, are we, like you said, it's hard to figure this out? Are we even arguing the right thing? Do we need to point the finger at the biggest problem in this program in the last four years, which is the offensive line inconsistencies? Yes. Could any offensive coordinator come in with the problems that they've had on the offensive line and greatest? How are they so bad though? I'm ****ing fine. Oh, that's what I mean. I just don't understand. I'm just standing 50 in the morning. How are these guys so bad? Like, they can't run the ball and it's just funny that we sat there last week and it's like, God damn it, they need to run the ball. They can't. They can't run the ball. They can't run the ball against me. Jordan brought it up in the instant reaction, but maybe the biggest indictment, just the biggest middle finger that Nemex coca give, oh, equal home. But tonight was load the box and say, hey, John, can you beat us? And of course, if there's no, that's what they did. Yeah. And there were times again, just like the Michigan game where you're like, okay, he's

figured it's that he's using this tight ends like, oh, God, I love watching the tight ends work tonight. It was amazing. Like, but it's like, it's so fleeting, particularly in the second quarter. Yeah. Is everybody just hanging out in the parking lot behind us? Yeah. And these people go home. Go home. Well, the problem is 50 in the morning watching no one can see you. You can see in, but no one can see out. That's sad. I think they think it's just like, you could be flashing your boobs and no one would know. These people are go home. Your football team stinks. Sounds like it's all little kids though. Yeah, they're just yelling and fighting about what are they fighting about? They're trying to figure out the offense, George. They're upset about the people. They'll be mooted. It's bad. And I just, again, week number two, can we second of week, I just feel like a dummy. I feel like a dummy for sitting here last Saturday, even up in Ann Orbor. And when we got back and we were doing the instant reaction and thinking, okay, that was the worst it's going to get.

And it just proceeded to get unbelievably worse. I'll tell you one of the problems. We have not taken an Escredd Lexus vehicle on the road and it's probably hurting this team. Look, we're all excited for another football season. It's not going great right now, but Escredd Lexus of Oklahoma City is the official travel partner of the Sooner Scoop crew. And they're just leaving this out there. Last time Scoop sat bar to brand new Lexus. Oh, you baseball won an national championship in Omaha. We're flying to Atlanta, so that's not going to be possible. Or these guys are flying to Atlanta. Whether you're looking at a luxurious RX of rugged new GX 550 or the newly redesigned 2026 Lexus ES available now is a hybrid, getting up to 48 miles per gallon or fully electric doesn't matter. They'll find the right vehicle for you and treat you like family, whether you've been a customer for a decade or just from day one. So you guys head on over to 700 West Memorial Road or just pull up Escreddlexus.com and go look around. Tell them Sooner Scoop sent you and thanks to Ed, thanks to Will, thanks to the boys over

at Escreddlexus for always being a part of this and being the title sponsor of the show. Also football would tell you guys a little bit about polymarket football is finally arrived, which means most are about to leave money on the tail by using traditional sportsbooks. But that can change right now. Just make the move to polymarket. The best thing about polymarket is that it's legal and running in all 50 states, even here in Oklahoma. This is how easy it is to join the revolution. Now think back to the time maybe where you had some action on Oklahoma. Let's say let's take the LSU game tonight maybe. Let's say you had money on LSU and when they tied it back up, you thought, oh I'm not cash out and get out of here. You can do stuff like that. You can cash out, which you can't do on a traditional sportsbook. Your money's held hostage and ill time turnovers of the game, tank your pick season. Polymarket gives you the freedom to cash out instantly. Polymarket is also so confident you'll never go back to the old way. They're challenging you. Polymarket's giving you a $50 bonus when you deposit $10 with the code on three.

About those fee sportsbooks takes around $9 on $100. When polymarket charges one single cent with polymarket, you're playing against other users not the house trying to bleed. Also trading not available in all jurisdictions. Check local regulations before trading. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Trading is risky. 100% loss can occur. All right. Can I bring up something? Yeah. Great stat from Kaden McFarlane. Shout out. Last eight quarters for Oklahoma offensively. How many red zone trips have they made? Zero. That's the correct answer. Yeah, because I knew they didn't make it. They've scored their last outside of the red zone. Yeah, outside of the red zone. Two to nine were outside the red zone. They have played eight quarters of college football and not made it to the red zone once. I'm sorry. I don't care who gets their feelings heard over there.

You shouldn't run an offense. You shouldn't be allowed to run an offensive. That's what you're going to get. And maybe that's not the right answer. Maybe I'm lashing out right now. But they've played eight quarters and they haven't made it to the red zone carry. How does that... Like there are so many questions that I have that just go with, I don't know. And I'm not going to sit here and say that I have all the answers. I have none. But at some point you would think that they could progress themselves and put together a drive and find themselves inside the red zone. Like is that too much to ask? And I know that they're trying and they're trying to figure things out over there. But Jesus Christ, this is worse than what we could have ever imagined. It's not working. And I don't know that Binar Buckle has feels the freedom to step up and say, you know, this is hurting my offense that I'm trying to run.

Or this is hurting my ability to use John Matier the way that, you know, I was using him early last year. Like I don't know. I just think that the offense that he wants to run is not an offense that John Matier can succeed in in this league. That's the problem. Yeah. And so like, while I agree that I think that there's a lot being forced upon been to run offensively at the same, like it's the, it's like the whole crux of the issue is that they want him to run the ball more because they know that that's going to, that's what will help Uncle Homo succeed as an offense. At the same time, Ben doesn't want to do that. So it's like this, it's this messed up situation. Well, it's just like the tight ends. I mean, yeah, what was it? I don't know, you don't know the exact number. But I remember when he first took the, the offense, a coordinator job and you looked up how often he was in 12 personnel. It was less than 10%. Yeah, I mean, miscule.

And now he's being told to run this offense with all these tight ends involved. And it wasn't a great time. And you would know, doesn't it feel very 2014, Josh Hypole, where Bob Stoops was asking him to run an offense that he didn't want to run. He wanted to run Art Browse off. And shit went off the rails and it just, it never works. Ironically enough, the last time that I can really, truly remember a team being booed like they were tonight. In 2014 as a Baylor game defensively. But what makes it, what makes it, here's the thing too. Why did, why did Brent hire Ben Arbuckle if that was, if this was going to happen? If he's going to make that management. If he's going to make that management. Yeah, or not micromanage, but like if you wanted to do all these things offensively, why was he your guy? Why was he your guy? Yeah. I don't really understand that. And maybe we're overthinking stuff. Well, and I think it also has a lot to do with John Mateer. Like he was the hot name in the portal. I think they thought he could do more than he can. I think that's part of it. But it was, I mean, people forget, it was a package deal essentially. Like, you know, they were going to lose Jackson Arnold.

They were not going to get in the high-stake sweepstakes with, you know, Miami and others. John Mateer was this guy that had these great numbers. And they knew if they brought his coach along, he would come along. And probably for a little bit of a discount. And people get it wrong. It wasn't Naggy that was, you know, in charge then. This was all happening before his arrival. Yeah. This was pretty naggy. So, and how much do you think my dad said this to us in an Arburt off the air, Eddie? I don't remember this, but he was like, I remember everything. The great Sam's voice says. He said that he thinks that they wanted John Mateer and Ben Arbuckle was the sidepiece. And if that's the case, that's no good. I mean, I think it's, I think that's some antics. Or did they hire Ben Arbuckle just because they wanted to get a quarterback. I think they knew that. I think they felt like that he was a young and up-and-coming guy. Remember Kevin Wilson called, said how much he reminded him of Lincoln Riley when we,

or not Kevin Wilson, Bill Beanboop. But I think it's all apples and orange. Both of them brought each other. Regardless if they wanted Mateer more than Arbuckle, they wanted Mateer. And the new bringing Arbuckle would help secure that. But don't you think, like, thinking back, like that was a bad thinking process for them. Shouldn't you just go higher if they were the best offensive mind is? Yeah. I mean, let them get a quarterback that they can develop. And but at the same time, hindsight's 2020, when they did this, it was like, oh yeah, this should work. Yeah. They also had a chance for what's his name with Minta? Darian Menta and Joe Crowdick. Joe Crowdick, yeah. I mean, my God, looking back on it now, it's easy to say that, right? But we're all already doing the same. I was saying Joe Crowdick is into this. I don't think Joe Crowdick's doing a whole lot. I don't even think he's calling plays anymore. No. I think he's actually the best. Darian Menta though. Darian Menta's unbelievable. Really, the answer should have been the best offensive. Buster Falkner was the answer.

That was the higher that they should have probably made was Buster Falkner. Oh, can't do anything about it. We're here now. We're here now. Welcome. Do you guys, do you guys, it's, so it's, it's over. You guys think it's, there's no chance they could salvage, salvage this. You don't think Ben Arbuckle could salvage this? I just don't, how can we look at anything that we've seen over the last eight quarters? You can't. Yeah, I mean, I, I think it's kind of crazy to think that they would other than banking on hope that you, that they do turn a corner, hoping that you get Michael Pesuse back next week, hoping that you get, you know, maybe even, I don't even know, a Dermykel card. All this can be said and it's great, but it's nothing more than hope and thinking that they can, they can fix this thing. I think that's what Brent basically said after the game. Like I, I hope they, we get it fixed or we're all left. And it's unfortunate that we're back here in the same position once again, talking about a defense that played its ass off tonight. Yeah. They had carried the loud. I remember telling John Kelly, it looked like Owen Heinecke was going to die on a TV

copy. Yes. I know. I pulled Josh Calaway there. So people, people, of course, I, people are going to be mad that I'm defending my guy Heinecke. There was a lot of people in my mentions and on the board saying Heinecke is just terrible and that he sucks. I know he missed a couple of tackles tonight. He was terrible. He played every snap. He played every snap for Oklahoma tonight. Well, and that's the problem. They played so well defensively and you look up in the fourth quarter and New Mexico's throwing balls into the end zone to possibly score a touchdown, which would need a two-point conversion of his time to game. That's how thin of margin of error this defense has. If they bust a big play, it's like, oh my god, they might lose this game.

I think both of those guys are supposed to be back next week. We'll see. Are they going to be 100% probably not? No. They're supposed to have them back or lose one of them back. He was great, but he was solid. He had good moments and then he had moments where it's like it's his first time really playing. He just peaked in the wrong hole. They had to play him so much. The defense was fantastic. They were elite. They were in elite defense. They were really great tonight. David Stone was great tonight. David Stone was awesome. David Stone was great. Jayden Jackson was great. They got held the entire night. I mean, PJ had a big play. Danny Quid made it. He at least caught some havoc.

I don't know how many, what his stat line ended up being. He had to be in one attack. That's somebody else. That's somebody else. It was replying to me that the Bowen brothers aren't actually that good. Oh, come on. I was like, you got to be kidding. Bowen was almost all over the field. He was amazing. He was amazing. And I know Eli gave up a couple passes. He almost had a lot of hits. But I mean, if you're biggest criticism of a guy is, well, he dropped a pick six. Eli seemed to be in position. I know you need to score, but that just shows you how much pressure the offense is putting on the defense, too. Yeah. And it's breaking the team. That's what I think is forcing some of these undisciplined penalties and these errors and even satinium moughing upon is like, everyone feels this weight of they cannot screw up because they know waiting around the corner is a jaw material interception or a stuffed third and short or a three and out or a big sack or something like they know what's coming on that, that's out of the ball. And so everybody feels that weight and then that forces you into that playing in a way

that causes you to make more mistakes. You're not playing freely. 100%. Let's face it, when Satanya had the drop against Ole Miss last year, that was coming off the Texas loss. I mean, they lost two games in a row. The offense was terrible. I mean, like, and he's trying to make a play. He was trying to make up for it. Yeah. I don't know. And it just feels like Brits teams now, the last few years, have felt that tremendous weight. And so they've made these massive errors. Every massive errors. Yeah. And you can, those were, that's like one of those like, things that you can feel inside the stadium. You can, and even like the, it's a little bit like the Spencer Ratler. A little bit like to me. And he like, everyone showed up tonight. Not with their pitchforks, but everybody was like, I'm ready to just better go. Yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna, I'm here. And you could feel it as soon as they crossed midfield on that final possession, right? Before half time and I don't even begin to understand running the football without any

time outs left. But neither here nor there, take Sandel, miss the field goal. You could just feel it. Like as that drive was going. And you knew, you knew Sandel was gonna miss it too. Yeah. Like I was like, he's gonna miss this. I just, it's, it's, I'm at a loss. And I think that there is no like, you thought last week was dark this week. Now you're trying to figure out this offense. Like you're trying to find something. And Brent Vittables was asked about it after the game. Like, what do they have to hang their hat on? He said nothing. Yeah, he's like, did you watch the game? They play in Athens, Georgia in six days. Yeah. And Brent, I think Brent's like, he knows their ass. What can you, what can he do? Like what are the realistic options for Brent Vittables this week? Well, I think you could fire up in our buckle. I think yeah, doing that or at least giving, I mean, I guess if you give play calling duties to someone else, you are, you're essentially firing. You're firing in our buckle. Which I just don't know. I know everybody wants that to happen.

And I understand and maybe I don't know if it would help. I think that one thing that, and why I don't think they will do it yet is, like if they're going to figure this thing out, they're going to need John Matier to play well. And I think firing John Matier's office of court area, the only guy he's ever played for that he knows his system. And he knows how he calls plays. Like, I know, and everybody's like, well, John's not playing well anyways. I don't know if he's going to play any better if you suddenly change play colors in the middle of the season. Like I just don't know. So like I can understand if they were like, we're not there. They make that move yet. It's now, they go and they get their shit kicked in by Georgia. I do think it'll start to be a conversation in the by week. It's natural. I think it's fans to say, especially the quarterback position. Like, let me, let's see the next guy. It's time to give with new by our chance. But like you're saying, it's not realistic. I mean, I don't want to sit here and say you're not right to want that. You are because it's been terrible.

But you also have to realize the reality, which is all the things that you just talked about. If they're going to get out of this, it's more likely going to be John Matier and Ben Arbukh. I agree with that. I agree. If you take him out, put with new power in, then maybe you complete some passes here and there more than John would have. But I think the operation though, I just don't, I don't, I agree with that. I don't think, especially when they can't figure out who a running back is. I think we all know though, they're going to get to a point where it's like, you have no other option. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, carry. They figured out running back. They tried, they tried to pull them. That's a problem. That to me is maybe the most frustrating thing that they're doing. I asked George on the yesterday reaction, carried you like the yes sweep out of their own in zone. I know George has talked about the toss sweeps and how unproductive they were. I mean, they just ran them all night and they never worked. Apparently, Toy Blaleck can only come into the game with his feet in the in zone. Yeah, I just, and, and, Xavier Robinson, I mean, I, I'm not trying to get into, you know,

criticizing people individually. I think but John Matier that comes naturally because it's a quarterback, but I would rather see you, most any other running back out there besides Xavier Robinson. He just looks lost. And I don't know how any other way to explain it than he doesn't look like the guy that he's going to be really good at OSU next year. I mean, seriously, seriously, I, how do, how have they gotten to this point where they, they look slow to a certain extent. And then you look at the defense and it's completely different. I mean, we've had this conversation. I feel like almost after every game for the last three, four years, well, think about it. Like what you watch tonight is like you see Hayden Hanson catch a ball and bowl his way through five people. And like that's what it's supposed to look like. That's what if you're, oh, you play in New Mexico, you're supposed to be bigger, faster, stronger, more mean, all that like that. Actually look like something like that. You can go back and say, okay, that was really impressive. And every time I see Rocky Bears catch a pass,

I'm impressed. I love that guy. But like, name me anything else besides the tight end tonight that you come away saying that was a plus. Well, without Charles Harris, surely they got Elijah Thomas involved tonight, huh? Two receptions for nine yards. I didn't have a big problem with, you know, the passes that went to Livingston, except he was a part of of interception because I was clearing out. I and I hate to say this, but you subtract the two interceptions. John was pretty good. Yeah. And you can't, you can't say just get rid of them. I mean, the number seven to 15 on third downs tonight. I mean, what was John's final style? I like 19 of 25, 19 of 25, two 60, two 62, two 38, two 38 with two touchdowns. I mean, if you, again, take out again, and you can't just get rid of the interceptions. They were bad interceptions, but the first one, the first one was so tough. If you can't just laugh a little bit about it. It's like, I mean, because everything is like, he's got to play better. This all this pressure on John Mateer first pass.

Boop. Interception. I mean, it's bad. But again, it goes back to like, and I tweeted it, but they can't run the ball. And so, and I get people don't like John, it's the same situation as last year though. He's the only way they're ever going to score it. He's also the reason you're probably going to lose a game, but he's also the only reason you're ever going to score points because they can't literally do anything else. Would we be okay if they ran the ball 25 times with one running back like, is that the point? Yes, please God, do it. Please, just do it. Yes. Try it one time, just like, it may not work, but God. What is the mentality in trying to get so many guys out there? I don't know. I said this on the instant reaction, and I really want, I'm going to find it out. How many teams are playing four running backs in a game like this, in a tight game? It's bewildering. There's no, I don't watch any calls for football team. You know, you watch Kentucky today. CJ Baxter, he's getting all the carries for Kentucky.

You know, Kiwain and Amis. They win in and push Texas A&M around. I'm going to look up these numbers. I mean, these numbers are just dog shit. Eight attempts for Lloyd Avant for 27 yards. Jonathan Hatton, six attempts for eight yards. They average under two yards of rush. Xavier Robinson, two carries for nine yards. Tory Blaylock, four for net two. It just, how can a football team be that bad when we've always talked about? For the last nine goddamn months was, we've got to have an emphasis on running the football? Yeah, that's it. It's crazy to be Georgia two running backs. That was it, two running backs carried. They had other guys have like one carry because they blew them out, but they had two guys take the majority of the reps. Let me look at Kentucky today. And Dylan McCullough is a good coach. Like, how does this happen? CJ Baxter for Kentucky today, 19 carries.

When was the last time an OU running back? Had a junior. Xavier had like 20 something last year in a game. In a game? Yeah. I mean, why is that not happening now? I don't understand. It just seems like they did. They planned to not get anyone injured in the room is working though because nobody planned to get hurt. Alabama had had two running backs. They had one with 12 and another with 11. I mean, maybe we're the idiots for thinking that is Jason Whitton their best offensive coach right now? Based on like, based on the position of his position. Yes, absolutely. Yeah, night and day. I mean, did you see Zion Ragan's had the 43 yard touchdown catch today? I'm happy for him. Good. Couldn't get on the field, although you. The wide receiver unit's bad right now. I mean, just and but I don't know. Are we bad or do we just not? We haven't seen him. Like they don't mean Parker. Let's say it was pretty good last year. I mean, I think part of the problem is John just dials in on Isaiah Satane.

Yeah, he's just going to throw it to Satane. OK, the quote in the post game, but mature man, all time. Ridiculous. Yeah, I almost said something else. All time ridiculous. You can't say that. And what? So they talk between people, no feeling bad and just kind of being embarrassed. Well, I feel terrible for John because you can and somebody put it on in the message board. And I think I completely agree with it from the Crimson Corner, just in that there's a small like human part of me that does feel bad for John because you know the weight of the expectations. You know how he cares. He definitely cares. The entire team loves him. Yeah. But it's just not good enough. And too honest. And the quote, well, go to the quote. The quote was that essentially he was somebody asked him what happened on the Satane Touchdown. And he said that he didn't see him until the crowd erupted. He erupted. And he was like, something somebody must be open.

And then he saw Satane down the field. And it's like, man, don't say stuff like that. Don't say that. That you know, the reason you finally saw the wide open, wide receiver was because everybody in the 80,000 people there saw him running wide open. This Friday returned to theaters for a ventrous end game on core. I know I said no surprises. I've never really helped him pull off one last one. Reassemble the team. Six thousand. Three teams. One shot. Relive the experience. He messed with time. Time tends to mess back. The story continues. Down it. This is the second chance. Jolce, Marvel Studios, Avengers End Game On Core, R&P is Friday. Get tickets now. We need to pitch it up to you. Maybe it'll probably be for children at 13. This episode is brought to you by Google Chrome. You think you know a browser. But Gemini and Chrome, that's new. It can help you with practically anything on the web, like restoring a vintage motorcycle from a 50 page restoration block or finally break down that long article

you've had open for weeks. Gemini and Chrome is here for it. Ready to make anything online makes sense? There's no place like Chrome. Check responses set up require a compatibility and availability varies 18 plus. Can they travel to Georgia? Can all 80,000 travel to Georgia? Because that's the only way they might be able to score. I mean, this is going back to like literally like pass run. Yes. Yes, it is. I just I don't know. He was so wide open to so wide open. Under through him, he still got a fair. He under threw him and he threw it late to the point where it's like that mic it intercepted on a play that should have been an instant touchdown. I mean, but hashtag be positive. He did see it eventually, eventually. But you are, I mean, you guys were talking about Brent. And he basically just said, yeah, I know this is bad. I asked him, I asked him about our buckle for all the people out there that want to say, sooner scoop doesn't ask tough questions.

I basically asked, do you believe in our buckle as your offensive coordinator moving forward? And he, I guess, said yes. Well, he said, yeah, he said, he said, I'm not going to talk about confidence. Look at the talk of confidence, yeah. I mean, he is our guy, basically. But the other thing too, I mean, this is, I was on the message board thread. It was bad mistake by me probably. But I was in there the whole game. And for most of it, until it was almost over. And you get into this whole thing like, I know everybody gets themselves all lathered up about, you know, now we're back to the denny in the two-year extension. And I think you probably have friends. I had friends that were texting me. Like, that thing looks so stupid now that the extension. Yeah, it does. I mean, stupid would be one way to say it. Probably not the word I would use. But look, there's Georgia and Texas left. That's what's scary. Like, there are people that want Brent gone right now. There's more than that terrible.

But I'm saying, if they look terrible at Georgia and get blown out by Texas, I mean, they might not win another game this year. That's the case. There is a legitimate. Missouri might be the most beatable opponent right now that they have left. It's not, it's not, it's not really lost by three though. Yeah, but they lost at home. But we knew that, I mean, we knew that we know that Mississippi state's going to be a tough win. I just don't think I think winning on the road is going to be tough for this team. Yeah. But it's going to be a close game. We're talking about two teams. South Carolina and Missouri, that Oklahoma can maybe beat. Maybe. That's bad. Yeah. It's terrible. And especially when you know what you have on the other side of the football, like that defense can win a lot of games if they had an offense to Matt. Like, that was the first time that we had heard Brent really talk about complimenting and being on the other side of the game. He basically said, I know all of you guys all talk about me, always talking about the defense. I'm here to tell you that I'm not here to talk about the defense.

I'm going to tell you how shit the offense is. And it's a problem. That is the first time that he has done that. Kudos to him for saying it, but there's not a single person watching that gives, can I say it? That gives a **** about that. Nobody cares. I know. And it should have happened years ago. Should have happened two years ago. It's, look, again, I go back to the R buckle thing. I mean, you bring a guy in. He's, was he 28 when they brought him in? You tell him that he has to keep his whole staff. Just like Seth the Trail had to keep his whole staff. Like, that's not worked twice now. So what are we doing? Like, if you're not hiring an offensive coordinator that's capable enough to bring in his own staff that knows his system, that preaches his system, like, what I want to do is I'm going to do a bunch of people working here that don't know me or like me or, you know, haven't come up with me. Like, no, I mean, we bring in somebody new. There's some personalities and integrations. It's a great point, Kerry. Like, looking back on it, like, why wasn't he able to just

bring in whoever he wanted? Especially at like wide receiver. I mean, as close as a wide receiver. And then we know in the air raid system, I know Emmett was at tech and, you know, he's been a part of that system. And maybe he would have hired him anyway or retained him. But he wasn't given the opportunity to do that. And then when that doesn't happen, you're the boss. You're 28 years old. And it's hard for coaches that have been in this league as long as some of these guys have. And to say, oh, yeah, I'd have to have told respect for Ben Arbuckle. I'd go to war with him anytime. Like, if I need to make a hard decision or bench a player, I know it's going to be the right thing. Like, no, they're out for themselves. But, yeah. I completely agree with what you guys are saying. We're talking about just having a functioning offense, though. They can't do that. Well, I'm just trying to say, I don't think Brent has been setting this up the right way. And I think the entire, you know, offensive mastermind committee, whatever you want to call it, it's been a disaster. Like, there's almost too many cooks in the kitchen. Too many cooks in the kitchen. I agree.

And just, you're right, Carrie, because thinking back to 24, it was so bad in 2014. It was so bad. And thinking back, it's like all they made only one coaching change. And it sure it was a big one, play collar, but they didn't do anything else. Jojohn didn't get fired. No. You know, image didn't get fired. Bill Beatombo, like, it was, they kept everybody. DeMarco. DeMarco probably deserved to be fired, but he left. That season, everyone deserved to be fired. They kept them and forced them on to. And we'll just go get Ben Arbuckle in a quarterback. You know, it's not, it's no, it has worked. It's been worked last year. And we were, you know, it was masked by the injury to Jojohn. And we all just kind of were like, well, it's, you know, a quarterbacks hurt. And they're playing two-trout, true freshmen on the offensive line. And, you know, all that. But it's like, clear. I think you're right. And I think that that's part of the problem of this whole situation is,

I think Brent has mismanaged it to a degree. Or overmanaged it, maybe. So do you guys think now that we're here is it's safe to say Brent, do you think Brent's job is on the line this season realistically? I think it's, I think it's, they have to lose the Georgian Texas for me to go in that direction. And badly. Should it be? But I think they probably will. Should it be is a different question. Right. I think it should be. I don't know if it is. I think we've talked, I think the reason. I think the reason. And I don't want to speak out of turn, George. But when we talked to Roger Diney, we had that little one-off thing. And it was about the contract extension. There were all these things that kind of came out of that like, no matter what happens the season, Brent's going to be secure. And that's how it felt when I was at the border region speeding this week.

I was talking it, especially to Joe Harris. Look, and you, people out there can get it. Well, and that's what I wanted to get to. I think the reason that he was so secure is because he has the ultimate support from the very top. Yes. Which is Joe Harris. Joe Harris, and I know everybody wants to get mad at Roger Diney or Joe C or whoever. I think Joe Harris had a very big part in this contract extension. And the one before. Yes. And just go look at his comments to us the other day at the border regions meeting. And I'll say this too, we talked to enough people with a lot of money. And I'm talking a lot of money. Some of the highest and highest of donors. And none of them are waffling. Correct. At least before this. Right. At least before. Yeah, and that thinks could change. They go get their ass kicked by Texas. I do wonder if their tone changes on that. But what you're saying is, is accurate. Like the people that are in this state. In this day and age, you've got to have people that are paying for your roster. Yeah. And the people that are paying for the roster were just fine with Brent getting another two years in that extension saying,

we will keep funding this right. Because if you lose that group, you're screwed. Yeah. Because they're the ones paying for it. Then you got to go to somebody like Harold Ham and say, we're screwed. We need some money. And you don't know if he's going to do it or not. It's just amazing to me. This is probably the reason that they're in this position. But it's just like, all they have to do is put together an offense. And that's the good one. If you want to abandon Ben Arbuckle, you could save some money by going out and just saying, we're going to get rid of everybody on the offensive staff. We're going to go get the best possible offensive coordinator out there. And that's going to be less expensive. And rebuilding your roster, you know, keeping people or finding a court. That's going to be a lot cheaper than buying Brent Vinnables out. Yeah. Yeah. And maybe that's what they do. But I want to, we're not trying to make excuses for Brent. We're just trying to tell you guys what are the options? Yes. The options, the economics, how it all works out, why this would happen or why that wouldn't happen. Because I do think Eddie's right.

Oh, he deserves it all the time. What I mean is it's a different question. Like when Eddie says, should he shoot his job? Yeah. He's the head coach at Uncle Homa. This is unacceptable. And I think Brent was sitting here with us right now and we gave him some truth here. I think he, well, I probably wouldn't even introduce him. He'd be like, he's not acceptable. Yeah, he just said that he knows that he's not doing a good enough job. And I think that that's why he's so pissed off is because he knows that. And so I, you know, you hope he can figure it out. I don't know if he can, but I think you're right, Carrie. The other thing that I find very interesting in all of this from a reporting standpoint is the fact that no one wants to give me the buyout. I find that very odd that, you know, I asked directly to Joe Harris and Roger Diney. And those guys, they know the buyout. Yeah. And I asked them on the record, what's the buyout? Which it makes me think that sexton was able to make the buyout. I don't know. And I've put in, I've put in now like four different records requests.

And I get, it's not officially inked or it's not officially done. And once it is, they'll finally release it. I don't understand why it's not officially done. And I also don't understand why the school, if it wasn't some crazy buyout, they weren't trying to, and I'm trying to say they're hiding anything, but it's just really odd to me that I know that they know the number. Yeah. They know they know the number. It's just kind of weird that they wouldn't, you know, just say it. Especially when like it was implied that they're protected in this. Well, I think I gained a little bit more admiration for the defense tonight. Especially the way David Stone played. Dude, they battled their ass off. Again, I just, I, watching them playing in the fourth quarter, it just felt almost unfair to an exerting extent. How many exceptions did you have in the fourth quarter? That they had to continue being run out there.

Because they did, they played their ass off. I mean, I think Brent set after the game basically like, got a bunch of guys that are really tired in there. He's talking about his defense. He's talking about the guys that want him the game despite the offense's inability to move the football. Here we go. Here was there any, while you looked that up, was there any point in the fourth quarter that you thought this game's over outside of the moment that they started taking knees? Because to me, when, even when they got the ball back with three and a half minutes left or four minutes left, it was like, well, Namesco still has two time outs. They have a two minute warning. I don't have any faith that the OU offense is going to be able to move the football. They're having to throw the ball. Jason Eck was talking about it after the game. They're having to throw the ball because they knew that they couldn't run the ball. I look at it here. Oklahoma in the fourth quarter, they threw four passes. They ran it.

You had two possessions. You had two possessions in the fourth quarter, three and out, and a- But how did they have in the second half? Second half, they had one, two, four, four possessions. That's not good. No, OU actually had possession to start the fourth. Then New Mexico got it, Oklahoma got it back, New Mexico got it, Oklahoma got it back. So technically two and a half possessions in the fourth. I don't know, guys. I don't know how this is going just completely in the wrong direction. I truly don't understand. They have to dig deep and figure something out offensively. I'm very curious to see what they do in Athens. I think they're going to get their ass kicked. If Ben Arbuckle is any good at this,

and if this offensive staff is any good at working together and figuring something out, I'm not saying they're going to go win in Georgia, but they'll be able to put something together that is competent. The thing that's hard is what you guys mentioned. They have worked to put this system into motion, the 12 personnel, 13 personnel, the types of run game that they have. You're going to just scrap that, and there's an option. You can just scrap it until Ben Arbuckle, it's your show, you run it how you want. You take your own grave. This is your job to eat or save or to lose. If that was the case, I would want to allow him to do what he wanted to do without any kind of, anyone over my shoulder like a Kevin Wilson. We just flat out think that Ben Arbuckle is not calling the odds. I don't know. That's just an idea. When you bring him in, he ran 12 personnel, 10% when he was at Washington State, and they ran at 71 something in the first game.

84 in a second. 80% in the first game. That's extremely high. I think the best thing they have going for is the time in the game. They gave an offensive analyst. I know it's Kevin Wilson. They gave a half a million dollar raise. That's very important. That's a antenna going up saying, okay, what's going on here? Why is this guy have all of a sudden a ton of say in what they're doing offensively? Do you not believe in the guy that you hired? No. Exactly. And they have it from the beginning.

This episode is brought to you by Google Chrome. You think you know a browser, but Gemini and Chrome? That's new. It can help you with practically anything on the web, like restoring a vintage motorcycle from a 50-page restoration block, or finally break down that long article you've had open for weeks. Gemini and Chrome is here for it. Ready to make anything online make sense? There's no place like Chrome. Check responses set up require compatibility and availability varies 18+. And I think what they did last year was they saw his offense, which was not run heavy. And they said, we need to be run heavy. Yeah. And now he's not running his offense. It's always amazing how much clarity there is after the fact. Yeah. I think during the moment, like you want to believe in all the BS, right? You want to believe in like, you do. Like you want to believe in all the, like, oh, we're like, yeah, like Kevin Wilson. He's going to get a raise and he's going to be involved. And it's going to be great. And they're going to got all these tight ends. Jason Witten, he's a Hall of Famer.

Oh my God, this is going to be awesome. And it's like, oh, wait a second. This makes no sense. Why did they do any of this? Yeah. You've built, it's almost like, you know, Jim Nagy comes in. They build a personnel department. It's like, oh, they've kind of cut their legs out from under them and recruiting now. But that wasn't the case, but there were some, yeah, there were some moments where they didn't get along. We know this. Like, you know, I mean, go back to the J-NOT situation. Like, yeah. And this is almost kind of like it, too. It's like, they've built this department around their offensive coordinator to support him when they're kind of just cutting his legs out from under him. And he's the one that has to call the plays. When he's never had these types of packages in his offense. Well, then if that's the case, why is he calling plays? Like, truly. And that's no fault of him. If he can't do it, if he's not able to do it, if you've built all this stuff around this 12 personnel or 13 personnel or 11 personnel or whatever.

But they're going under center for God's sake. I mean, that would never have happened if Ben Arbuckle would just been allowed to do what he does. It never would have happened. Like, they're talking about setting up the pass with the run. That's never been the air raid. Yeah. But when it comes to that, what they saw, and man, we're really getting into this. But I think they saw was, Jon Matier can't really make decisions fast enough to run the air raid. Right. So now we're doing this. So they've just fucked everything around with everything. They try, it's basically like plug and holes and they just keep coming out of one other. You know what I mean? Like the water's coming in from other places. But you take care of this and then it comes out of here. You're running around. Of course, like, they're trying to plug holes among guys. Like, I got silicone. Another guy's like, I got flexile. And I think it's like, I can't remember anything. I think it's like, we're going to use this. And we're going to do the whole wall. I think they just, I think they found out last year, which is why they did a lot of this.

They found out last year that Ben maybe wasn't ready for this. Yeah. And so then they did all these things, thinking they're helping him when it just in reality is making things worse. I mean, the post-mortem we got on Seth was just that he wouldn't take any input. Yeah. And that he would listen to anybody, he was stubborn, wouldn't take advice or, you know, wouldn't take... This feels like the opposite. Yeah, this is like, now they're in the opposite direction. Yes, it's like the opposite. It's like, now they got a guy that they'll take some advice, but it's like, there's too much. Yeah, it's too much. Look, these are a lot of generalizations. We don't, like, theory. Theory of... Yeah, theory of... We haven't heard. We've been in a great light, you know, on campus corner. We just throw shit up against the wall. I can tell you this, though. I don't like the offense. I do think that the... It has gotten to a point on the offensive line where I'm like, how does this ever end here? Yeah, every year. It's just not... Like, that should be the one thing that you're like. It's true. I want... I need an offensive line coach or gave or somebody to just sit me down and say,

this is why they're so bad. Because when I look out there... Gaves in a dark place. It should have been this bad. It should never be this bad. How is it this bad? These guys have played football at the Vision One level. It's not like they're throwing a bunch of... Took no best at having an eye to the rosetta in there. Like, and then you get... You get false starts. And Marriott Harris is not good. He's going to get murdered at Georgia. Well, I mean, you prayed to God every person out there this week. Before their head hits the pillow. Before their wife... Here we go. Might give them a hand job. You need to pray to God that Michael Fussusi will be ready next week. He's not going to solve everything. But it might help a little bit. Maybe Ryan Foujet can go to write tackle. I'm just so sick of coming in here and talking about an offensive line that gives them no chance from the beginning. And here's the thing. They're not good, but they're not as bad as the...

You know, Jackson Arnold here when they went to Ole Miss. They're not the worst offensive line in the history of the school. Thank God! But that's what we've had to judge this. I know. Like how does the success look like in Bill Bidenboz? And I like all those guys as well. I like Bill. I've been a writer for Bill. I just don't understand why this continues to be an issue guy. And the development. There's no development. I mean, everybody... Ozzayda, you know, he's at home grown. He's got the young guys. But if he was bad tonight at times, like there's no consistent development. And he haven't seen that really for the last five years with any... I mean, who could you say you've seen that with? Nobody. You can't. Really, since Creed Humphrey, what offensive line is Bill developing? You know, it's funny though, because I've watched... And this might be just a terrible analogy. I feel like... I have... 335 per morning. You look out, Luke Backlanko's start for Arizona State.

Does... What does Ty ever play much for Mississippi? Probably not. Troy ever. Or Troy ever. What about Joe Ty? Joe Tates is a two-year-stress. Josh Tates is a two-year starter at SMU. Like, you look out and so all these other places... It's everybody. Every position. Every ploy. And that's... It kind of rules into Zion Ragnens is making plays elsewhere. All these guys leave the program offensively. And all of a sudden they find success. When Michael Hawkins is a great example. I know there's a lot of people that are like, well, they should have never given up on my targets. Michael Hawkins wouldn't have had any success here. And that's not a fault of Michael Hawkins. And I don't think Michael Hawkins is a great passer. But like, there are things that Michael Hawkins does well. And West Virginia has figured that out and said, well, we're going to do all these things at Michael Hawkins. And Rich Rodd Historian has made a report about that in his success stories. Uncle Homa doesn't know how to do anything that helps their quarterback. There's no more lineage. There's like, it's stopped. And like, Jeff Levy was okay.

I mean, he was doing really well at Mississippi State. But like, compared to Lincoln Riley, he was a step down. And then it's progressively gotten worse. To be fair, anything would have been a step down from Lincoln. I mean, those were his, as much as we hate him. Those were his historically and rate offensive. I would kill for Jeff Levy right now. Yeah. It was a top 10 offense. Yeah. It was a top 10 offense. And everybody looked at that like it was dog shit. Well, guess what? Whatever that was that we watched tonight, whatever that was that we watched in Michigan, they still haven't gotten to the red zone. It's crazy to me. Michael Hawkins was 10 for 17 for 192 touchdowns tonight. And the 38-27 went over. You ran for like a hundred years. I ran for like a hundred years. 18 for 123 on the ground, three touchdowns. Yeah. I mean, the only thing that makes you think that it's not completely a disaster is that Jackson Arnold's just not very good as a quarterback. Like he didn't go somewhere else. And I mean, you played for Hugh Freeze. He's not there. Didn't you break him?

Possibly. I think they almost broke in a lot of people. They broke in Eddie. Yeah. This is far from broken. I can't wait to talk to you guys for math this next week. Don't be a baby. Will you get to go to the between the hedges? It's like one of the greatest college atmospheres out there. Sure they might get their ass kicked. But be a little grateful. Come on, man. Okay, I know what's happening here. You're so. I can't believe it. I'm not miserable. Don't be miserable. I'm not miserable. I'm saying it with a smile. It's just, it's beyond disappointing. Yeah. It's beyond disappointing. Because I think that like I just, the fame base was so ready for something great to happen. And I feel responsible. I think what in a way? No, why? Because I mean, we thought that this thing was going to be so much bad. That's not our fault. That's not our fault. I mean, no one foresaw me in this bad. Yeah, I know. I know. That's the thing is like you can feel bad for believe like us believing in that they would

be better. But like it's like, well, no shit. Like shit. They should be better. They're supposed to have a burst of bad. And that was last year. Yeah. All we were saying is like, it should be better this year. We expect it to be better. And it's worse now. But I do think, I do think, you talk about people breaking. I think John Matier has a serious confidence problem. Oh, yeah. The way he talked after the game. And I know people are giving him hell for the crowd thing. But like his answer about how tough of a week was on him. Do you think he was good to be booed? No. And as much as it happened tonight, he has a serious confidence for you're right. And the way he's talking about, I don't want to get into his faith and all of that. But when players start bringing that up in terms of their confidence in things, it can sometimes be in a way that it's like, oh man, he's really going through it. And I think that- Well, your boy Landry Jones did that a lot. Yeah. But Landry would do it after throw for like four, five. No, no, no, no, no. That one year of bad luck when they were terrible and he had two rimmers.

And he just came out of his hand as he was trying to throw back. And I just the way he said before I answer any questions about football, I want to talk about my Lord and Savior. I almost put the camera down. Yeah. John didn't do that. But like, I do think that like just the way he spoke tonight about it, like I can tell he's really, he's searching. And yes, the thing that sucks the most about it is I truly do believe there is nobody that cares more than John. No, I agree. And that's a shitty situation. You can say that about really almost everybody on this team. I mean, they- Yeah. This is a good locker room. But they think what he gives John. Yeah, everybody loves John. There's no doubt. The other thing I thought about was their best players are not their captains. Like the captains are not holding up that standard. Again, we go back to- Offense. We go back to the beginning of August and it was like, oh, they got three offensive linemen as captains. That's a good thing, right? Like, it looks like it might have been them trying to cover up for, you know, the fact

that- Yeah, the fact that they needed to be better. Maybe. But what they let- I mean, I don't know. I just- it's not good. And I think that like it's depressing to think about this is- this is just week three. I mean, my God, where are they going to be after week seven? Eight, nine. They haven't placed anything on there. We don't even know that. We don't even know that. We're gonna get to the season. They have what we want. It's gonna be like, Jones Town or Johnstown. I was wondering about somebody, you know, throwing a brick through our window, one point tonight. Yeah, by the way, they did win the game tonight. So we've talked about it like they've lost, but- It doesn't it feel kind of like- like there's so many parallels to 24. It feels kind of like the 16 to 12 Houston game. Yeah. Where you walk on your like, what the F was that? Are they school- Like that was like they hadn't lost yet that season. But I remember walking out there being like, this might be really bad. But again, in 24, it just kept getting worse.

And right now it keeps getting worse. It's going- it's on that track. And- and- and boy, they don't have Maine on the schedule. There's no Maine. There's no- Wish we did, and there boy come- come down. Yeah. What was his name? Jack. Jack Web, Jack Web, shout out. You know, he does now? He's the Patriots, yeah. He's on the Patriots pre-imposed game. I remember you telling me that. Yeah, shout out Jack Web. Oh boy. Well, the goodness is- It's time to go home. Got some fun ball games to get into here over the next couple of weeks. Trip to the- It is. It is such a great SEC match-up weekend next weekend. Yeah. It was a great- it was a great day to catch football the day. It was a great day. Freaking turn-adad, chambles. Oh, he's a- He's a- I think he's gonna win the Heisman. But what a moment. He's unbelievable. And that's- that's the other thing. You just like again, you watch Mississippi. You watch Miami the other night. I mean, part of it is like all these other teams. But those- I hate that. Why do they have what I think we all want to watch? Well, to be fair, we got to watch Trinidad Chambles and, you know, Daryl and Minta.

Like that was Baker and Kyler and Jalen and we got to watch all those. We're asking for freaking, you know, Graham Harrow. Yeah, I mean, no, like not even Graham Harrow, you know, give me a Nate Hibble, you know, like just something, you know, like I watch these teams and I say, give me the Kentucky quarterback. I think that they're off. I know we want to get out of here, but I think the thing that pisses me off the most is just how easy offense comes to everywhere else in the country outside of- You know, you get the football. We're living in the upside-down world. How did that- But now the defense- The worst historically bad defense that- Oh, you had in the mid-20 set, you know, 2010s to late 2010s. Now they- I mean, I watch Lincoln Riley. I watch USC today. Their defense looks like speed D and OU times. I mean, except they probably have some better athletes, but they were awful against Rutgers. Rutgers put up 35 today. If Oklahoma could just score 23, I'd be happy.

And they'd have a chance to win. Yeah. A lot of- Well, maybe not a lot of games, but they- No, they would have a chance to win a lot of games. But it is- I mean, I give Brynn a lot of credit. I mean, he brought defense back and it was literally dead. And he just forgot to bring the offense with him. He just didn't have any offense, yeah. And that will ultimately be if it doesn't work, will be the downfall as him not being able to figure out whether it's- Whether it's- Again, what we talked about where it's getting too involved and he's got, you know, too many cooks in the kitchen or he's not letting this guy- The offense- Be to his thing. Or it's just the mere fact that he screwed up on these hires, you know, or put his faith in the wrong people. By the way, it's a huge recruiting weekend. Those great, great performance. Pretty spectacular. I mean, legitimately- I thought about that. It's like they had all the huge recruits there and the crowds booing the team- The entire game. Kids want to come play for a program in which they're going to get booed at. I mean, I do probably don't really care. I don't know if that's going through their mind, but it's certainly something across

my mind. We can ask Josh and Parker, we'll talk about it on the recruiting report this week, but I think sometimes it's either one of two things that like, yeah, it's really bad and it's a bad look, which again, nobody's saying that you shouldn't have booed tonight because I think it was well-deserved. Yeah. The people don't realize these high school kids, they lose a lot of football games. They lose a lot of football games. And I think that like there is something to be said for the standard or whatever you want to call it. Like these kids kind of know- Well, I'm- Hey, you're putting out a bad product. They're not sure you're coding it to them either. I'm sure Brent sold over goods after game like we played like shit. So do I mean, do we expect them to, and we'll talk about it all week here on the CenterSkoov.com YouTube channel, but do they, do we expect them to make any changes going into next week and not like changing coordinator or changing quarterback? Are they going to allow it? Like if you're going to go down, you might as well go down, right? Yeah. I wouldn't, you know what? And I say this with no information. I haven't asked it. I will check tomorrow, but I wouldn't rule anything out at this point.

The way that Brent talked to us after the game, it was- He never talked, in 2024 he never talked like that. This was the first time that we've heard him say like, that was not, that was terrible. Yeah, like he didn't say that verbatim. Was it the first thing he said? That was ugly. Yeah. Yeah. And I think that that's why I'm saying like, and again, I don't think anybody's going to get fired tomorrow. I'm not, that's not what I'm saying. I just would say I would not be surprised by anything that they do. Anything's better than nothing, no. Because they know, these people- There's something's better than nothing. They're, I mean, look, Brent said it. They know that it's terrible and they know who they're about to play. And like I wonder if it's a last ditch, if they do any sort of last ditch effort here before they play George. I just don't know. I just don't think this is the way to do it. I think you go play Georgia, see what happens, and then you have a buy week. Yeah, and I don't know what getting rid of any one position coach right now at this point of the season is going to be great. I mean, you could put Kevin Wilson as the offensive line coach. You could put Kevin Wilson as a play caller.

You know, you get rid of- I think you have to- I know who else you get rid of. I think if you're Brent, and again, people out there don't want to hear it and not get it. But I think if you're Brent, you say, okay, we play Georgia, we're going to get Fisusey back, we're going to get Kip Lewis back, Kosolevin, whoever. Let's try and figure out what can we do offensively this week. Give our buckle a shot at figuring this thing out in Georgia. Let's go put our best foot forward this week because there's still one last team. Well, they just came off their best week of practice, though, do you? Yeah. But I think that's what you have. If you're Brent, and I know we want to live in the world, to fire everybody and change everything up, and that's going to fix things. They don't live in that world. We have to remember that. They don't live in that world. And so I think that the world they're living in is let's see what we can do this week, and then we'll go from there in the by-week. That's my guess. It's starters. One running that. Maybe two. I would have. One or two running that. Patent and avans. I've not seen anything from Xavier Robinson or Torrey Balalock to give me.

And I'm probably not fair to Torrey, but like very minimal. It's very unfair to Torrey. But yeah, I mean, I agree. Patent, though, there was some runs tonight where I'm like, oh man, like if they get one more block, he's got something. And he's just a bigger guy. And at this point, it's like, he's a true freshman. His ceiling's high. You got to get him in the ball. Just hope that maybe he can be a spark for you. And then a vaunt is just consistent enough to just keep putting him on the field. The problem with the vaunt is he's not past protected very well. He's screwing that up a lot. And at least he's not big enough. And so it's hard to put him on the field. That's why Xavier Robinson comes in on passing downs. So. All right. We're going to be back on Monday. We're going to be here on the YouTube channel. That was so depressing. It's probably, it might be depressing. But you know what? We're here with you. We appreciate all you guys. Always be here for you. We appreciate everybody listening, checking in.

I know it wasn't the most fun game to watch. And plenty of concern moving forward. But we're going to track it all. We're not going to stop covering the team. We're going to the game. So we'll be back at it again next week after the Georgia game with these guys. These two will be either in Atlanta or Athens. We'll figure that out when they do the post game.
