It's Power Hour, LSU.
Ah, ah, ah, or you getting me ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it's time to all come together as one. Because look, we'll wait, it's done it again. We'll wait, it's done it again. Lance 2027, Five Star Guard, King Gibson. That's why we put the livestream back. He made his announcement on ESPN and out we are alive as we normally are on Sundays at 8 p.m. central. Super excited about Monday night football with the New Orleans Saints. And on top of all of that, look,
LSU, we are in really good position to make a push for the college football playoff. Link Kiffin met with the media, had a lot to say about Cory Barber and that we'll get to some of that a little bit later. But it is weird during the middle of football season when of course we are a football first channel. This is just a ginormous deal. It really is because Five Stars and basketball are oftentimes the most impactful type of recruit you can get. Basketball is more of a star driven sport. You could do a lot more with a true superstar and look. I got word that this was probably going to happen. He did this announcement during some kind of basketball showcase that they were doing on ESPN. And I learned about him a little bit earlier in the week. I just heard that name. I was like, that's a great name. King Kiffin. But today was the first day I actually watched him. And it was just one highlight watch. I cut four NFL film studies for that channel today. And it was really good.
Just amazing stop startability. Had a little bit of a midi to his game. Obviously not the biggest guy at six foot four. But damn he can flat out play. Obviously has a great long range jumper. And you could see just over to the right he played at Montvertis. If I'm pronouncing that correctly. That is where Ben Simmons went. That is where quite a few NBA players have gone. And yeah, you know, does he jump out of the gym? I don't think he's like that top tier like ridiculous athlete like a Russell Westbrook, if you will. But he is extremely skilled. And he does have a lot of juice when it comes to beating people off the dribble. But yeah, I mean, it was just ridiculous, he deep shots all of it. So I haven't been able to do like a full scan and report on him. But honestly, basketball rankings tend to be the most accurate. Of course, there are the occasional
three stars have fall through the cracks. But if you get the five star recruits, you're normally in pretty good spots. And we know we'll we can work to transfer portal. So when we get Gibson in for 2027, we're going to hopefully have a portal class that we could build around him. And then we can make a real push in March madness. All right. One final thing. As much as I want LSU to get to the college football playoff, I can recognize the hardest thing right now in sports to do is make the college football playoff or at least in college sports. It is the hardest thing to do. There's just so much thing, just so much stuff you have to get done in order to make the college football playoff. But I need to make March madness. I do. Will Wade, please, year one. I don't care if we got two players on the roster. We have got to find a way. We just do. Huh? Huh? Huh? I I needed. I needed so, so, so bad. So shout out to the general, but I want to get to what Lane Kiffin
had to say today. And look, I went back and rewatched the all fits of snaps from yesterday. Obviously the same levy and interception, the WinnieWalking drops. There's plenty of negatives you can point to, especially if you calibrated for the level of competition, but there's also quite a bit of positives. Cory Barber was definitely one of those. You know, it's interesting that he got this opportunity when he needed a lot of things to break his way for him to get to this stage. Now think about that. This is a five star on three receiver out of Alabama. So, when discussing Cory Barber, this was a late surge in his recruiting ranking. He was mostly a middle tier four star. And then on three said, no, we think this guy is really special. And he surged up to that five star ranking for their services. The other services still view him as
like a top 100-ish type of four star. And then you take a look at how this season has played out. Philip Wright got hurt. So that opened up, you know, some steps with the first unit. And then Jason Brown has been all that great, even though yesterday was a step in the right direction for him versus the Mignis. I am utterly shocked that Jason Brown and all the production he had, I can't say, has just translated to very little here at LSU. But Cory Barber has surplanted him. And now we are in this spot where maybe Cory Barber starts getting a lot more targets. And I think part of why his targets did go up is that when he walk and said a very difficult start to the game. And I think their skill sets more so overlap than someone like Trey Brown. I was really impressed with Trey Brown last night. And that's what we expected him to do when he came over. It's just a very log jammed room, if you will. At Old Dominion, Trey Brown was the home run hitter. And last night,
he hit that deep side line ball that was not an easy catch by any stretch of the imagination. And he's also not a bad intermediate guy that you could, you know, throw him a slant and he find a way to house it. I did in the evaluation process like Jackson here. It's quite a bit more than Trey Brown, even though there was some overlap with both of them having really high yard per catch averages coming over to LSU. But for me, I like me some Trey Brown. So I do see a world, especially considering he does have one of the rare skill sets, which is a 62 and above wide receiver that could run the side line like the win. I really like him. And I think you could see more of him. You could because right now the LSU wide receiver room, hopefully is hitting it stride. And I'm going to reiterate something we brought up quite a bit in the live stream last night. I'm not worried about when you want kids drops. I really am not. I think drops are very fixable. And I don't think
they're a sticky as in one set of drops will lead to a thousand other drops. I think that's something when you walk in. It's good fix because look, most of us can go out there and catch a pass if we're open. Right. If that's the case, quite a few of you would have had Division one or due to college scholarships. The hardest thing to do is getting open. Not every one of us could do it. Help not everybody on LSU can get open. Actually very few people in college football can get open. Winning walkins can get open. So I want the guy out there. Obviously that could catch passes, but it's a lot easier to catch passes if you get open when you just drop passes while he was open. Those things tend to fix itself at least in my opinion. I've looked at some of the other LSU wide who see were great said had drops early in their career. They got fixed. They just did more often than not they get fixed. They don't just stick with you. Obviously there are a few that come to mind
that had nasty drops and never really recovered, but more often than not, if you truly are talented and when he is obviously supremely talented, he will bounce back and continue his great first season with LSU. Remember he's only a year two player. He is only a year two player. So he's mostly younger than all the other receivers, not named Cory Barber. Okay. LSU basketball is going to have multiple players that can dunk this year and next year, or they had that last year and didn't work all too well. So Cliff could see you. Yeah. So how knows why we pushed the line stream back? You probably should have gone on ahead and started, but I didn't want to lead into the stream basically saying, hey, I'm just kind of guessing that the King Gibson is going to end up signing and picking LSU, especially when I have zero. That's a lot. But I have very little college basketball recruiting knowledge and at this
point of the year, very little college basketball knowledge period, I'm not an arid-tourist or Paul being Cardi here. So there you go. All right. We're going to take an early break here and we'll be back right after this with a few nuggets from Lane Kiffin's Presser from earlier today. LSU trivia.com. Let's freaking go. It's a simple game. It's free to play. Every single day, you'll get five new clues to trying to guess the LSU Tiger Legend. Okay. So you can see right here, I am one of the most prolific underclassmen in LSU history. So I'm going to guess Tyran Matthew and that is not it. Okay. I'm a five-star recruit and NFL draft pick. I'm actually drawing a blank. I actually coded this a few months ago. Five-star recruit and NFL draft pick, Patrick Peterson. Okay. Okay. Now I remember this one. So basically you just keep going until
you get the correct guess and in this case it is Harold Perkins. Get different types of clues in there. The best thing to do and I'm still working on some of these details down here. Copy results. You can share that. Are you missing that sweet swing? If pain is holding your golf game back, you must check out the full simulator at the Lafayette location of Labored Therapy Center. Yes, Chase and his team built this simulator to go along with a full set of programs catered to your needs. Yes, this entire team at Labored Therapy worked hard to fix that back. Your elbow, shoulders, wrists, knees, toes. It doesn't matter. At their Lafayette location, 337-981-4053 all today. But what if you don't golf? And what if you don't
live in Lafayette? No problem. They fixed anything. Therapy related. Both today, Labored Therapy.com with locations in Aaron Crowe, Youngsville, Morgan City and Crowley. Laboredtherapy.com, L-A-B-O-R-D-E therapy.com. Let's go. You know one thing Lane brought up that was fascinating is Eugene Wilson. So, Tray has come over and obviously he had that amazing play extending catch off of a Sam Levitt scramble versus Louisiana Tech. He also had that ridiculous behind the back flip however you want to describe that grab versus Texas A&M. It's also had some drops himself. You know, I think Tray is a good at CC wide receiver. I do. But as far as like the special
game breaking type of play that's mostly still been a winning walk in trade-as-green jacks and hairs kind of thing. So, I do think Tray Wilson will remain in the rotation. But I do think a guy like Corey Barber can push him and then obviously they're rare similar in a lot of different ways. They were both rated five stars by one service only. So they weren't this can't miss five star recruit. Their body types are somewhat similar. And Tray also returns bonds for us. So, I think Tray will continue at the be a big part of this LSU offense. But I could see Lane looking to target different players who are maybe a little bit more explosive after the catch. Even though Tray had an amazing cut in this last game versus McNeese. So, George Mcdonald and Sawyer Jordan and the rest of that staff. They have some pretty interesting wide receiver
decisions to make because you also have Roman mother shed in their yeah. He scored that one touchdown. But the other catch he made when LSU was backed up when Sam Levit through a high ball to his back shoulder. And he made a very difficult grab. That was one that was really impressive. Mother shed understanding time and space. Make it that play was really, really, really good. So, pumped up for mother shed and this tight in room as we move forward. Now many made a point that Zach Gris also had a drop that wasn't the best ball by Levit. Those two just don't have really any chemistry. I mean, I think when it comes to chemistry, JLo and Ben right now, I better chemistry. It's not there. All right. That Ole Miss miss obviously was the one that we point back to, but there was another one. Because normally when you think of your tied in, that's your safety valve. That's the guy that you trust the most and we just can't get the
calibration right on point. All right. It feels like you're trying to put a needle through a haystack. What is it? Or a haystack there in the... or thread through a needle. Whatever it is. Find a needle in the haystack. But hopefully, LSU's tied in room will continue to improve as we continue to work through the trade-as-green situation. Okay. Yeah, we have a few bammers in here. That is not unlikely. Brambo says LSU 34 to 13. I kind of want to get into my Kentucky prep, but Lane's press conference tomorrow has more to do with the Kentucky game. Whereas today's presser had more to do or sat at presser. It's like a Zoom call. That has more to do with how he felt about the film from last night. Okay. I think Lane is still a little frustrated with the back-ups
on defense. I mean, we were on track to have one of the best nights we have ever had at LSU when it comes to yards per play holding them to 1.3. That is so hard to do. It doesn't matter who you're playing. If you're holding other college football players to only 1.3 yards per play, that means it might as well not show up. I mean, they're not even getting forward in the least. And then we gave out those big ones. And what I think's happened with some of these back-ups at LSU is some of them stayed when they saw that some of the other defensive players left, who they were behind on the death chart. And they're like, okay, now I might have a path forward to getting a chance to play, but they're still not good enough. And they couldn't go in the portal, because they have no film at all. So unless they wanted to go down a level, it might as well stay
at LSU. And LSU side of it is, hey, we still have 105 scholarships to go around. We still need camp bodies to go through basically everything. And if you want to be here, guess what? We'll take care of you, but you're probably not going to play a whole heck of a lot. But you can come in and compete a lot of people move up and down. But I was a little shocked that some of the more experienced guys that have been around LSU for a while had some of the defensive reps that they had. And it's impossible to know if they were just too hyped up because they finally got their chance to play. Or was it a bad call? Was it somebody else's responsibility? But yeah, I mean, it still reminds you how thin LSU is defensively. It is razor thin. The margins are really starting to be pushed here. And this would be a little bit better if this was us talking about that
for the Auburn and Mississippi State game. But now we have Kentucky. And I don't want you guys to get mad at me bringing this up because I brought this up before the season began, brought it up on Twitter. I go on walks and on my Twitter account, Power Hour LSU, I do rants while I walk. All right, so make sure you follow there because there have been some fun ones. And I feel like when you go on a walk, your sports mind is just clear. Like the only thing you really have is your phone, but you got to look forward. You can't just sit and just scroll, not stop. You're walking and I just get my best sports thoughts when I go on a walk. You should do the same. And I think that works in all walks of life. No pun intended. But this was before the season began. And I circled the Kentucky game as one that I was very concerned about when it came to our stamina because this is only our second true road game. Lane brought this up a little bit
earlier today. It is such a big fundamental difference playing at home and playing on the road. And I know you're saying, well, no duh. Well, the truth is we've seen that already transpire in the SEC, which teams have still looked good on the road. Well, it's the teams that have things that helped you win on the road, which is in a lead pass rush. That's something we do have, right? Why did Texas beat Tennessee? Texas has past rushers all had career games. Why didn't we beat Ole Miss? Well, we couldn't sactrin it at Jamblers. Nobody really can. It is just a completely different environment when you're on the road. So with the way Duke Gerald's and Prince William made me Ellen is playing, Prince Will is the best defensive end probably in the sport along with Colin Simmons. You do feel pretty good about going up against Kentucky, but you then get into what Kentucky does well. They give Kenny Minci very easy throws to work with. They also have a very
deep and diverse tight end room. It's not just one guy. It's a lot of misdirection. It's a lot of stacking those tight ends. It's a lot of leaks. And Joe Sloan and Willie Stein have done a really good job of that. Not to get confused or will Colin Stein. But Coach Stein is good. He is good. And to go for two in the win was a smart thing. You should always do that in the first overtime when you're in that spot. But what a season for them up to this point. To beat Texas saying him the way that they did on the road. And then to and that's one thing they have we don't is an SEC road victory. And then to win again on the road versus South Carolina when they were sliding underdogs is pretty good. It's pretty pretty pretty good. But the reason why Kentucky could turn me is we haven't won in Lexington since the bluegrass miracle. And then Kentucky is
a brutal place to play because it's one of the few turf fields in the SEC. Now we see plenty of lower body injuries that happen on grass fields. So I saw Marty Smith tweet this out over the weekend that Mississippi States got the best grass. I mean less miles would have a buffet. But one of their home players, one of their linebackers had a non-contact lower body injury on that grass. So look there's always going to be injuries on all different types of surfaces. But we've not played a turf game yet this year. This is the only turf game that's on our schedule for this year. And the last time we were there, one of the best towns that were played at the school had his career altered there. And that was K-Shot. Many of the moons ago. So it wouldn't shock me if LSU spends more time in the indoor this week where LSU has a turf field there. And I think
you need to be prepared for that all the way down to what type of stud you wear, turf tape, daven cameras special. Put that on the back of your arms. Because it is going to be hostile. It is going to be a really difficult place to play. And it's one of those games where you don't really circle on the calendar where you're like, okay, I'm really up to play this game. Whereas Kentucky has a lot of ammunition, right? It's once heard going up against his old team. It's Joe Sloan going up against his old team. So this is going to be really fascinating as we move one step closer to the actual game. And something else obviously is Kentucky's best skill guy is potentially a true freshman Kenny Darby who a lot of you are familiar with. He has been amazing. Now he had one of the worst drops I've ever seen versus Texas A&M. And then what happened? Well, the ran I was making
earlier about when he walk in. Drops have a tendency to fix themselves to really down to players. Darby can get open at will. And he followed up the drop with a big touch down later in that upset victory. So Brambo says Kentucky is going to lose badly. Well, guess what? Right now Kentucky double digit point hundred dollars. Pretty interesting. It simply says to practice game is over. Let's go. Highest ranked defense Alabama has played so far. This year, who would you say is Alabama's best defense? They have played up to this point. Is it Kentucky's on the road? Would you say that? I don't want this to be an Alabama chat. I deal with them enough on the SEC channel.
It is truly, truly, truly insane that LSU had landed King Gibson. If you're just now joining us, that's why we push the beginning of the livestream back. King Gibson, Fistark combo guard for the class of 2027. Pick the LSU Tigers. Really, really, really fun times to be a will-weight fan. Would you say South Carolina is the best defense? Then you should be worried. It's still skeptical if you're an Alabama fan.
If South Carolina is the best defense, you faced. But yeah, Shane Beamer looks like he's about to be looking for a job pretty soon. We shall see. Okay. We'll take one more break. I do need to get through these a little bit faster. And when we come back, we'll take a look at one big key when it comes to Kenny Minch, the Kentucky quarterback. Let's go! On a journey together with Zion Imaging, I want you to see this experience up close. And me as a wedding event DJ, I watched how everybody had so much fun with Zion Imaging. And a big reason for their success is the team. Yes, Jaron Thomas and his family started this off as a passion project. And they have one simple goal in mind. Taking your event to the next level. All right, Will Wade, you have made me a happier person than, uh, what is it? A pig and crap. Shout out to the revelry. Big thanks to our partners, the Gain Day partner of PhL,
3347 Highland Road in Ban, Rouge, Louisiana, 7082. As a lot of you know, located right next to Chines, the original Cains and walking distance to Tiger Stadium. You need a place to watch a game on Saturday. Check out the revelry in Baton Rouge. And then I want to shout out one of the funnest free chat rooms. Rambo downloaded today. You can scan a QR code or you can click the link down below. Rambo chat last night. I had a good conversation with Jared Mitchell and Ruben Randall. Or should I say Ruben Randall? I was a bad pun. But instead of, you know, scanning the QR code, I just wanted you to see their cool logo. Click my link down below. It'll take you straight to the LSU chat and it helps me in a major way. Check it out with Rambo and you guys got a shout out
price fix. All right, so we made this play last night and we almost hit a pretty big one here with the price fix. This flex play actually got one more play in. I mean, I should have saved it for the stream. But today, this is a follow up from last night. We almost hit this big line up here. Josh Allen anytime touched down. Jackson Smith and Jigba didn't score but had a big game. Dare can retouch down. Jonathan Taylor had two Kenneth Walker had two late ones. Christian Watson didn't score. He had a few touches in the red zone but he didn't score. So five dollars to win two because I did a flex play. I'll take that two dollars. As you can see, I have won $327 on on price picks. Always play responsibly but if you're going to do
a bigger play on one of these lineups, really feel confident in your picks. Don't just go in there saying, hey, I need to win. So I need to go in there. Win some money. Be confident. And I think like a third of those winnings was me putting together a line up. I feel pretty comfortable about it. I think it's a $112 hit. So pretty cool stuff. Price fix. You forgot we played Kentucky. LSU's defensive ranking. Just depending on which metric you look at, we're at the top 10 and all of them. Now, is that a bit misleading? Yes. Because we have faced one good offense up to this point. So Texas A&M's offense is very strange to really pin down. They had a good outing last night against Arkansas but that's Arkansas there. They're worse
team in the SEC by a wide margin right now. But we did shut them down. We held them to six points. Marso Reed said, I think we can at least say he's a decent SEC quarterback. I don't think anyone would say he's just bad. Mario Craver is a good player and outside of one screen. He didn't do anything against us. Same thing with Clemson. I mean, Bryant Westco is really freaking good. He had arguably the best cut back of any runner of this past weekend. And we shut down Clemson. Now offensively, they are atrocious. I'll be honest, but you still went out there and got the job done. So we have only faced one real offense. But we have dominated all the other teams that we have played up to this point. However, two of the five teams that we have played are the cupcakes that are on our schedule. We don't get that Rina win that
quite a few teams in the SEC. I say quite a few, but four of them have Rina wins in the week before rivalry week. So the next to last week in college football. So now from this point forward, it is all SEC games. It is all games you need to buckle up your chin straps for. And yes, we do get the benefit of playing Arkansas. But that will be the final week of the year. Four games in four weeks in the month of November. It's probably going to be chilly. And it's going to be the back end of a back to back road game where you would have played Tennessee on the road the week before and then Texas and Alabama. You can make a case. That's the hardest three week stretch we've ever had. I wouldn't go that that far. When it comes to regular season, stretches of games, but it's up there. It's really, really, really hard. So, yeah. And obviously, as we tend to do, there are other SEC storylines that we can get to tonight.
I know there's been in Alabama, you know, little thread in here. They're good. They're really, really, really talented. Tennessee, obviously, the quarterback position, you know, is what it is. But you would think that they're going to have that solved by the time we play them. And we'll be at their place in Knoxville is a very difficult place to play. But yeah, they're going to have to solve their quarterback problem. And I don't know what the best option is for them moving forward, but they probably will stick with the year two kid George McIntyre who visited our school, by the way. Cliff says the revelry is walking distance to his house. Let's go. Carter McNeese, Clemson, LA Tech, and Ole Piss, all scored more points in LSU than Texas Aiden for. That is how snappy. She had that in the discord. And he was like, I'm so happy that Texas Aiden is
sucking it up. Okay. Pumped up about it. All right, because we started a little bit later. In the next five to 10 minutes, I'll answer any questions that you might have. I did because this kind of was a recruiting livestream. I did want to bring up Eastern Royal really quickly. I've not really watched him a whole lot this year. I wait till the end of the season to start like diving into like a high school kids tape. I doubt it's anything but really, really, really good. But now you read, well, Florida's now the biggest challenger for Texas. And then you also
read Florida's the biggest challenger for LSU. Are we still in it? And I read, hey, he's going to commit in the month of October, but that really doesn't make a whole heck of a lot of sense him committing in the month of October because he's visiting LSU on November 7th. So, and he's visiting LSU on November 7th for LSU Texas. So why would it make sense to make a recommitment to Texas or LSU and you still have that visit where you will be treated like a God, if you will. So I just, it's not that I don't care. It's just I'm going to enjoy actual real football
instead of being caught up in that. Okay, that's just how I feel. But for right now, you know, has my confidence wavered maybe just a tad? I don't know. I really not paid as a much attention to it, but I will after the November visit. If it's still on, I doubt it's not. Let's go to Eddie J 5032. And once again, please join our membership program. We have a Blake Baker film study extra. You know, a lot of you watch the film study. We released our defensive one. We released our defensive film studies from every game the Sunday morning after at 8 a.m. And Eddie says, well, Lamar Brown progressed to doose and big rich Anderson's level by the end of the season. Well, I think a better question here would be would Lamar Brown and big rich Anderson
progressed to doose Gerald's level by the end of the season. And honestly, Eddie, we can actually go even once a further. Is there an SEC defensive tackle better than doose Gerald's right now as a true freshman? In the answer to that is probably yes. But he's in the conversation and he very well could be first team all SEC as a true freshman, which would be pretty freaking ridiculous. Like doose Gerald's is so, so, so good. You know, you're always shocked when any true freshman is really, really, really, really this good. And he's not a five star. But look, once again, I'll prefaces by saying I get things wrong all the time. But patrons know this that that was my grade on him. I thought he was that ridiculously good as a recruit. And this really honestly doesn't blow me away. Even though he's
playing at such a high, high, high level, I thought he was that good. So yeah, as far as Richard Anderson, he is a different style of player. You know, you can make a case that he's 20, 30 pounds heavier. He's a thicker guy, but he's also not like, you know, you tend to think of the north of three 15, three 20 guys are, you know, gap pluggers. But that like Richard's a playmaker as well. But to filing greens, put together some good games, some league blocked into starting to play better. So it's just harder to move up in that rotation. But I think Richard Anderson will continue to progress. And then, you know, Lamar Brown has played, you know, you go to the pick six versus Tennessee. Lamar Brown was on the field for that. You go to Dooscheryl's big moment outside of the outfit to touchdown his sack yesterday. Lamar Brown was in a defense tackle in one of our race
car, Cheetah, past rushing packages, whatever their turn might be. And yeah, you know, he's not made a splash play just yet. And I think there's a reason for that because I felt he was a better off its line recruit. Now that doesn't mean I'm done with him as a defensive line recruit because that was a decision he decided to to make. But going over from the offensive line, to playing defensive end is really hard to do. And, you know, he went through a body transformation and a positional transformation, where his main focus is on the defensive side of the ball. It's just not something I'm too worried about. He was a fallen roly as well. But yeah, you do wonder if you start seeing those types of splash plays that you saw in high school. But at the same time,
I'm like, man, I and I honestly thought his offensive line tape was great. Like really, really, really good. And you can go back and listen to it. I said, man, I would play him on offense. And the truth is, if you are on defense and you're not producing to the level as Prince Will or Doose Gerald's, your value as an offensive player to a college football team as a lineman far outweighs your value as a rotational defensive line. Meaning a supremely playmaking great defensive lineman, one of them truly can transcend your defense. Whereas rotational defensive lineman don't affect the game as much as a rotational offensive lineman. And the inverse is also true
when it comes to a game breaking offensive tackle. So let's say Jordan Seaton, who's had a fantastic season, Jordan Seaton can't block all four of the positions. So we click on the offensive line hurts a whole heck of a lot. But a strong link on the defensive line is so, so, so big. If that makes sense. So I think of Richard Anderson would have stuck with all fits of line. He would be, I say Richard Anderson, Omar Brown, he would be a part of the conversation right now. But still really, really, really good athlete. And we'll see what happens as we move forward. But that was just my opinion. Not a lot of people agree to me on that. A lot of people Lamar's for sure defensive lineman. And I still believe in him. I do.
You don't want to think about these, um, these players that go out onto the field every single time. You know, we're cheering them on and all that stuff. There's not as many like gruesome injuries that you'll see when you're watching an NFL game, players are older. They're also way faster, stronger, smarter. So they know where to be. There's just bigger collisions. And I was watching the the cheese game today and Taikwan Thornton caught this deep pass. And he got up after the deep pass and was celebrating. And he looks down and his ankle is pointing in the different in a different direction. Uh, it snapped on a hip drop tackle. And I I've thought about that nonstop. Like it made me sick. It made because I do cheese videos. And I'm like, I don't know if I want to do one because I have to cover that play. And if a player suffers
a gruesome injury, I try my best to not show it because it's just so so so bad. And if you didn't see it now, everyone's going to leave my stream to go watch it. That's just what we do. But I was watching in live and I did. I was the the the joy on his face to then him falling to the ground. Yeah, a lot of these guys are making millions of dollars in the NFL and everybody in the NFL is mostly making millions of dollars, especially a good player like Thornton. But college guys are now making a lot of money. But they're still the risk of something like that happening. And I have so much respect for every single player that I talk about on here. Whether I criticize or I praise or whoever, just the fact that you're between those mother F and white lines, you are so unfrieking, believably brave. Like it's nuts. I've been very fortunate to be on the sideline for quite a few SEC games and shits happening so fast out there. Like these guys are
moving so unbelievably fast. And it's car collisions. Like it's like, wow, it's nuts. I've never been on the field for an NFL game. And I know it's nuts. It's crazy. Let's go to chance. Have I given up on Kate Enderham yet? I won't. But it's looking bleak right now for Kate, especially with Stacy Cage having the game that he had last night. And I've always said, you know, this off season. And this sudden, you know, when you go out on a limb and take a make a bold proclamation like I did that Kate Enderham was going to have a great season. The reason why I was bold was that's just not any of the practice reports said that's not what I had been hearing from staffers, from players,
players, parents. It was going to be the Dylan Jones show. And then more than like a Harlem Bay area. And there was real steam that Stacy Cage had passed Kate Enderham up. Kate Enderham had good practices as well. It's just me and it is hard to fall off like he's falling off with the explosive run rates that he had early in his career. That stuff just doesn't tail off unless you have injuries or like confidence or, you know, a pretty drastic scheme change like we did. But it's not it's not something I'm losing sleep over because Harlem's playing well and mostly Dylan is continuing to play well. I know his long rush last time versus me niece was only eight yards, but it's important to actually watch how those eight yards were created. They were really, really, really good. He breaks so many tackles. All right. Now something else is I am still worried about the middle of the offensive line for
LSU. Playing on the road is so difficult for all your offensive linemen. And you know, I, I go back and you look at a lot of our road losses. So much of them can just be chalked up to one of the guys in the middle just having a really terrible game. And if that one thing continues to happen, remember offensive linemen really don't get subbed out when you're out there. You're out there. So they're affecting every single play. And an interior offensive linemen really struggling, really sucks because it's in the interior. And it's affecting your A gaps, a good chunk of the time, the interior gaps. So my big thing for this week is what can we do to mitigate that? Now Kentucky in years past have had some ridiculously good defensive tackles. That's not necessarily
the case this year, too, is a really good player on the edge for them. But they're still solid on the defensive line. One of their defensive linemen has a pick six versus Alabama. This is a solid group. But you know, moving forward pretty much every team we play on the road in particular after this week, they have some dudes in their front set. They really, really, really do. So what we're going to need to do is what can we do to manufacture more easy button kind of place? And that's big. That's going to be big for us. And something else that's happened for me is is I and I break I do I cut four NFL videos today.
The single best easy button position in football right now is tied in. And what I mean by easy button is leak it tight in, have them block at the beginning of the play, then have them leak. Five yards here, seven yards here, sometimes it's a big one. And we don't have trade as anymore. And the drop off has been pretty drastic, which is why if this mother shed story continues to develop, we might have something here. And he can start gobbling up those types of targets and yards and all of that. So I'm pumped up to see that. All right. We'll take a few more here on a glorious Sunday night. Big thanks to all of you. All right.
One final ran at the end of this. So I want us to start looking at college football a little bit deeper. So this was a discussion in our discord. It's a part of your Patreon subscription. And I kind of want to give a free Patreon subscription out right now. If you go signing for Patreon, I'll cover your first two months right now. And you could be a part of our chat room every Friday at one central. We do a Patreon only chat. So if you go signing for Patreon right now, the link down below. I'll cover your first two months. We had a debate about Kentucky being left out of the top 25 today. And if that's a big deal for LSU, it's really not. But it kind of sort of is because there's two schools of thought of how you want to view the college football playoff
committee. If you believe that the college football playoff committee has a pretty set standard of criteria when it comes to which teams get into the playoff and which ones don't, if you believe that criteria is set, then you don't really need to worry about the top 25 wins. Because what that criteria does is it doesn't cut all the teams off right at 25. However, if you think those people in the committee room actually have conversations, one thing that they point to is top 25 wins. And there's been a lot of complaints amongst fans in college football that a lot of SEC teams with multiple losses get ranked in the back end of the 20s. And that bullies the number of ranked wins for the SEC. And look, there's a good debate on both ends
for that. But I wish Kentucky was in the top 25. So if we were to win this game or lose it, it would look a lot better than we lost to unranked Kentucky because we don't have college football playoff rankings right now. Now, Kentucky is number 25 in the coaches poll. But the reason why that's relevant is because Kentucky was ranked versus South Carolina and they fell out of the top 25 poll altogether. There were 23rd versus Kentucky and they ranked two spots. This hadn't happened in decades. Like this is a rare occurrence that you go on the road, beat a comfort seam, and Kentucky was was was underdogs right. So they won on the final play of the game. And yeah, I mean, they they was a ridiculous comeback. But a lot of voters penalized Kentucky for that obviously.
And they're not ranked. So I wish they were ranked. It would make LSU's resume look better. And if you're like me and you don't think LSU is going to win out because obviously I had 11 and 1 LSU. If they were to win out, they would probably be in the SEC championship game. I don't know if that's going to happen. I don't think it will. I think the most likely scenario is LSU is a 9 and 3 team by the end of the year. I think that's the most likely thing. And then you're going to start getting into straw grasping over if LSU deserves to be in the playoff at 9 and 3. They get to 10 and 2. It's not a guarantee either. So what if you get to 10 and 2 and then in the debate, it starts getting into top 25 wins. Because you think Tennessee is going to be ranked when we play him. I'm not sure. You think Arkansas is going to be ranked when we play him.
I'm not sure. Mississippi State maybe. All-Ran probably not. So then people start picking apart your resume and they're like, well, where are your top 25 wins? Which is why it's a stupid thing to begin with. It's not only important to watch the games and not look at like simple metrics like your simple wins and losses. It's how did you play in those games? It's part of why I have a so anti-Texas getting into the playoff field last year. They never really played good on the road. They should have lost Mississippi State. They played terrible versus a bad Kentucky team. They're miraculously won that game. They played terrible versus a bad Florida team. So it's I think this is a good way to basically break down what the hell. What the hell is this metric system that we use? Are we going to use game control? Are we going
to use strength of record? Are we going to use strength of schedule? But yeah, I wish Kentucky was ranked in this eight people. I do remember that and I'm not going to get into that again because that can get into a very slippery, that is slippery slope argument. That's not the right word. But that was probably the most laughable thing I've ever seen. How says they would have dropped out next Sunday Carter really does not matter? Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. But honestly, like at the end, when it's really close and you start comparing just resumes and they put the Fancy Smean CESPN graphics up, top 25 wins and all of that, it does kind of sort of matter, especially now that the SEC
approval rating is at an all-time low. The SEC haters have never been louder because they have actual ammunition now. I saw Preston bring this up earlier and it's a random play made many a times. Why am I so pro? Nine game SEC. We have played in Lexington twice in 24 years and we are in the same conference. Twice in 24 years, we have been in the same conference and gone to their place. That is so stupid.
That makes zero sense that that is even a thing. That you can be in the name one sport where you're in the same conference and you don't play at that team's place. In 11 years, once every 11 years, it's crazy. That is nuts. But now with the nine game SEC schedule, we will play in Lexington one every four years. I thought Duke and Pitt should have been ranked a couple of weeks ago. How many of you thought that Virginia Tech kick went in? Let's go to P4. We will probably have an AP voter on the show pretty soon. Wink wink nod nod. There's an AP voter that dropped LSU down to 19 after last night's win.
Wild dropped all Miss even though they were on by. These types of voters shouldn't be allowed to vote. Very cool. Mee M Trucking for me. so Good luck and no one missing your 209. Who'd at? So excited for tomorrow night. That'd be crazy. All right. Once again, the Patreon offers still going to hold up. Actually it might have gone through. Yes, whoever signs, signs of her Patreon, I got you next two months.
Ask any money. It is a great house in there. It's a great service. All right. We will see you guys tomorrow while I have an offensive film study up tomorrow at 6 p.m. Central. That is power, LSU, boom. Tonight, while we're doing steaks, maybe, they've never been higher. Let's go.
