3:12But that's smile. You guys have no idea that Carrie had me on the phone this morning. And I heard true. Just remember that what I sent you, David Banner, Skipper Rost. So what Jamella's referring to is that I threw a couple of grenades this weekend. And I'm so good about it. And I'm so great about it. I felt great about it. And I'm just going to apologize. Although I did work myself up into a tizzy this morning. And I was like too early to be in a tizzy. So yeah, yes, you did. You worked yourself. You lathered yourself quite up. I was upset. You were full of, you were full of vigor this morning. And then I'm in a ladies, what I've decided for all the ladies who listen to the pod. I'm going to, I'm going to teach a masterclass. It's called the get back. And so you, no, no, please expound to the, to the women folk about what you plan to teach them. I will say this here. Let's start some positive news.

4:14I, I, well, I don't know. I don't even know if that's positive news. I appreciate. I appreciate that we actually had an opportunity to have a guest come on our show this week. Release that's what we have. And I think all jokes aside, you and I have talked about this. We've said on the show, people who watch the show, who really understand the show, who don't watch it, just via a cliff know that we have, on several times on the show asked to even a come on the show. And it wasn't about, and so people said to understand, I started to catch off, that that was in response. Because he was like, didn't he say something like anytime, anywhere, or we, or did we start the conversation before that about how we would have him on. I don't remember. Because he, he had said, I think it was after the whole Jasmine Crockett thing. And when he brought us up, brought us into the conversation in response to some criticisms that

5:14you had. And he was like anytime, anywhere. Yeah. Yeah. And then we were like, cool. Like, we're more than happy to do that. Just by way of background, we have a history with Steve and A. Clearly, I, I worked with him aside my side for two years. You've worked with him. You've known him for years. We have history with Steve and A. I, and I would have, I wouldn't necessarily call him a friend. I said, we are friendly. I can't call him a friend. I think as an adult, you get older, you know how to use that word. Right. I think every time I have seen him prior to his recent, his, the last maybe couple of years when he really started using his platform to discuss politics, slash black women, he and I have not, I haven't seen him since then. But prior to, I would see Steve and A, even when the word on the street was that he was going to get this 100 million dollar deal. I sent him a text when we were texting. I said, congrats. I'm happy for you. That's what I think I want to make sure people understand. Right. And there was jealous of Steve and A. There was no beef. There was no, how about the money? How about the money? There's zero beef. I, I could care less about the money.

6:20That's not the issue. But I, I inserted myself into a conversation. And it started with, uh, when I heard Michelle Beato say that she prays for his downfall. And that was exactly what she said. Like that is not a, that is not carried, putting cap on, y'all can go and see the clip. She, she was like, I think she said something like she's not religious, but she prays for his downfall in particular. And she made that real clear. And this was, and prior to her, even saying that, this is when he had started saying things about Jasmine Crockett, he had said something about Michelle Obama. And in the past, even on social media, he had got kind of slick with you, told you to stay on your lane. We were talking about politics. Well, he, well, he got, he took issue because I saw him. Um, I just so happened to be watching ESPN and they were discussing Conlon Capronick. And at the time, I believe I was working on Capronick's documentary,

7:21as, as I was an executive producer. And so I was privy to a lot of information by way of working on that documentary. And he said that he, oh, actually, it was before I was, I think it might have been before I was working on the doc. Yeah, I don't have a time. I don't remember the timeline. But anyway, I was privy to a lot of information. And so he said on first take that he was responsible for getting Conlon the tryout that happened in, in with the NFL. And I know that on a quivically to not be true. And so I said, you know, and I thought it was kind of strange that he would position himself that way because I'm like, well, you're supposed to be covering this story as a commentator. And hence why I was had that other conversation about the role of journalism. And it wasn't a knock on Stephen A or not calling into question his journalism credentials. He has very strong journalism credentials. But it was bizarre to me that he would insert

8:24himself in the story and try to sort of take credit for it. And then a lot of the things that he was saying, he really didn't seem to have a firm grasp about what was happening. And the games that the NFL was playing. And I thought, I thought he was wrong. And I said that. And he fired back at me on social media and said, well, as your friend for many years, I would think you would call me before saying this publicly. And I was like, say less, say less. And I called him. And I texted him. And I never heard back. So I'm just saying that like, yeah, but you know, here's the here's the reality and the response every time. And it does depend on relationship. Like I hadn't talked to Stephen A in a while. And I like you would consider myself friendly with him. I wouldn't say we were friend friends. It's not like, you know, Stephen A went out for and I went out for drinks or anything like, but we were definitely friendly for sure as colleagues. And so yeah, but I don't

9:27necessarily feel the need to call you every time I have an opinion about you or about something that you said. And same. I don't necessarily feel that. And by the way, he has also done that before with other people before. Well, meaning that like I'm pretty sure he doesn't call everybody before he says something about him that he knows. So I just want to say we want to have him on the show because words have been exchanged. It doesn't matter who started it. It's been started. And there are things in which I think will be an important conversation for the culture. And I think it's an important conversation for us to have with him. I'm going into this as I know you are with good intentions, meaning like I want to say what I have to say. And I hope that you've come to say what you have to say as well. I don't know him to be someone who will say he understands and or sees our point. I've never known. I think he's a debater for the rest of his life. I think that I do want to just get some shit off my chest. So I can actually let him know how I feel. And I'm

10:32sure he wants to get some shit off of his chest. And who knows how it'll all end. But I'm not coming in here on some. I'm trying to fight you. And I just want you to understand, Steven A, there are things that you have said that don't align with the community, but more specifically, yes, with black women. Does it mean that you are thumbs down? That's for other people to decide. But what I can say is that because you can point to certain things that you have done for the culture and black women or and or even being raised by black women, doesn't mean that absolves you from critiquing or saying things that have felt unfair about black women. That doesn't absolve you. One good deed doesn't erase the other, the other issues that have been put out in place. And more specifically for me, what I was saying about Michelle Bito, after that comment was made, he dedicated a whole show to me and said that, you know, all of you guys go back and listen, good hour, maybe. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. There are things that I take you to shoot with what he said in that power that I know for a fact are true. And that's what I would

11:37like to talk to him about as well. And that just adds to a litany of other things that people have said he said about black women. Now, Steven A, I think that for him to say, this is the first time you heard of it, I actually believe him. You know what I mean? Yeah, because I actually believe things happen. You think things happen. Things happen. And everyone's like, oh, but y'all texted him. Things happen. Maybe you do my text. Maybe I don't have a new update. Maybe he might have a different information. Things happen. But we literally did it with, you know, in a in a good faith mindset, for sure. And yes, it is true. Like once he said, like, hey, anytime, anywhere, I'm talking about prior to the last couple of days when he initially said it was said, but we'll reach out. And we did. And we reach out multiple times. And finally, it made its way to Steven A's, you know, per view. I think he probably saw the Instagram video clearly of where we were joking, by the way, people. We it became a running bid on the show that we invited Steven A. And

12:40he still hadn't responded for the new people who have joined the new people. We were literally explaining new to the internet because Kevin Kevin on stage said it best. Kevin on stage said, once you realize a lot of people are stupid, that's just it. You don't you just just operate differently. You're like, you know, so the comments are why do you think it's going to be an important conversation? And I hope that everybody enters the conversation. Me, you and Steven A enters this conversation with respect. No, I have no doubt about that. I really, great. I'm glad you don't. My point being this. Because that's all we want to do is handle this like civilized grown adults. You say what you feel, you say what you think is right. I get an opportunity to say, but I feel I say what I think is right. I take issue with several things. And I want to get that off my chest. And I want to hear his response. And vice versa. He probably is like, why'd you jump into the Michelle Beto conversation? And I had nothing to do with you. And you know why I jumped into the Michelle Beto conversation. And here's the thing.

13:44Oh, when Steven A said he was hurt, I don't know if he was hurt. Maybe he was hurt that I jumped in. He was a Paul that I jumped in because I don't talk like I don't I could see him being hurt. And I think it's because of what you just said. I don't you usually do not engage in that way. I'm not a social media fighter. I don't be putting my dukes up. I don't be in the I just don't have the time or the energy or quite frankly, the nerves to do it. Meaning like my nervous system doesn't operate in a calm way like you are. It can let people have it in a long paragraph. And I'm like, where's the gun? Everybody got it. I'm fired. As some would say. Anyway, with that being said, I really took issue with that would appear to me like a lot of issues with black women. He had something to say about black women. But here comes Michelle Beto. And she had said that comment. And it had been 24 hours. And I was like, he let that right. That don't deserve a podcast. She said, I pray for your downfall. That doesn't deserve an entire podcast. That ain't the first shot. She ever fired a decision. This is a five about 50 left shots in him 50 11 years. Like

14:47been going in and when she went at the network, she went in on him. Let me tell you the one time that I remember in particular when I was sitting on the desk with Ray Rice when when Stephen A said sometimes when he alluded to the fact that women some time with Ray Rice, you guys were talking about we were talking about right. We were talking about right. Rice me skip and Stephen A were I wasn't talking I was teeing up and they were talking about Ray Rice and Stephen A said something to the effect that women should be careful because they might invite these situations on themselves. And he got suspended for a week. And I remember that I remember that day, Michelle Beto tweeted, I will never watch first take again. Did he just say women like I'm, you know, I'm paraphrasing. She went in on him. And then he apologized. I love that you made that about Nancy. Apologized. And I understand I said that was a tough time for him. But I'm all like, oh, she gets an apology. Like the thing is this, it doesn't feel fair. And that's why everyone was

15:50upset, especially black women. It's like, dude, you got no energy for her. The same energy that she's giving you. You're ignoring. That's what the issue was. That's what the issue has been. And so I'd like to discuss why I got an hour and a half podcast for saying, hey, keep it. Keep it. That's what you would. That's at the top of your agenda for this conversation that we're having. I don't know. It doesn't matter why I felt though. I'm sure you could care less about the way I feel. Right. The point of the matter is that was my motivation. It wasn't to take him down. It wasn't because I was jealous of his money. It wasn't because I wanted to see his career be over. See, we wish you nothing but the best. You are. We have said this over and over again. You're the best of what you do. That's why you make the money. But the reality is is that you have some blind spots that are glaring and that was our issue. And so that is why we're having him on. And we want to discuss other things as well. So this isn't a form for y'all who go all in the comments. This ain't a form for everything you mad about. We're not going to go down. Because I'm like, let me just ask him about this. And it's not something like.

16:52And for those who and we have really good friends who just don't fool him period and probably would never have him on their platforms. But they don't have the same history. Like we've literally worked with this man for a decade. And I and I do take issue. He went on another show and said, Carrie, for the last 10 years has been calling me asking me for advice. I was like, what advice I have I asked you for? I would have I been calling you asking you for a ride. I can go down on list of things. And I don't like the dismissiveness or the the fact that we have to do what he says. She says, I just want to talk. I want to come outside and I want to talk and I want to speak my truth while you share your truth. And we'll be here in the middle. We will. And so just for the audience to know is that a conversation at has been scheduled. So right, we a conversation is mischeduled. We're pretty sure we feel pretty confident. It's going to happen. And you know, maybe you guys will see that this week, you know, because you don't really in our business, you don't count it

17:52until it actually goes down. Yeah, until it goes down. When it goes down, you can be like, yes, y'all are going to see this for sure. But do know it's on the books. It's been scheduled. Our producers have talked to his team. So everything appears to be a go at this. Yeah. And we not and it ain't like that puts them vastly in on your face. That's fine. No, I ain't nobody taking no earrings off. Ain't nobody putting all some booties. Like none of that. None of that is happening. Like we are going into this with the in the spirit of what you talked about to discuss. How we failed our our personal relationships, you know, with him. And hopefully at the end of it, like you're right. And he's hoping. Well, this is I it's what I've always hope, even from the thumbs down award, even before that long before the thumbs down award is like, I just hope even though this doesn't quite seem to be in his nature. I don't want to assume. But I would hope it would pee-pimp to himself reflection. And I hope he understands that I'm certainly not saying

18:56this. And I don't think you are either. Nobody is saying that he has to wear kid gloves. And talk about when he talks about black women. Oh, when he talks about black people, I think it was keep the same energy. It's it's it's it's the it's the that if you if you are so offended by me telling you to keep the same energy and you're in your fine and you go on Hannity and you're fine with the president saying that you're not intelligent. You're a low IQ individual. That's not the same energy. You said you're a fine or or or they're keep the same energy. Yes. It doesn't and I can buy the way. Have some questions about the whole Hannity appearance as well. Like why did why did he go on Hannity to talk about? Don't give away my question, Carrie. That wasn't only question. I have about that appearance. But just to because I'm sure as he should, he's going to say, okay, you guys give me some examples where you feel as if I have been, you know, sort of out pocket, whatever that may be, but there's some specific things to say about that.

25:17I just feel like it's disingenuous. And by that, I mean, I feel like it's not a fair debate. If you go on about how what you've done for everybody, like no one wants to hear that. We've all done something for everyone, but you can't take responsibility for everybody's career. You can't say you made every single person. It does take some the actual person to be involved in the process. Yes, you provide a platform. Yes, you probably tell the bosses, I like that person, but then the person has to go on and be great as well. And I just have a hard time accepting or sitting there. Like I honestly, when I watched that Monica McNuchy-Nesho, and he was like, if they were on first take. Yeah, it was so uncomfortable. It was cringey for me. It was, it wasn't, I would say that at the moment. It was very uncomfortable to watch. And I thought he put them in a bad position. I'm sure I don't know this to be true, but I would hope that there was some kind of conversation that happened after that because the way that he came at them and then to just, and then he also

26:21talked about, I think it was Monica later on the show, later on his own show, I should say. And so I just, I didn't love that energy there, but, but anyway, we'll talk about it. We won't give away everything that we intend to discuss, but this is the spirit of what the conversation is about. So don't expect us to ask him about every political person or, right, we don't, this is not a political debate. It's not a political debate. This is not like Stephen Erie, you went for president, tell us why, you know what I mean? Or even that as some people have suggested that, like we're, we're, we're going to be surrogates for the Democratic Party and just sit up there and try to like, no, I don't, I mean, respectfully, I don't give a shit about that. Like I don't. It's like, and I've seen him sort of frame maybe some of the criticism that he has received as like, it's because I put Democrats on blast. I was like, this is not a political conversation. This is a community conversation, which is much there will be politics discussed. I'm sure in some former fashion, but it's not a political debate. This is a cultural conversation. This is a

27:23community conversation. This is it. There I say a colleague conversation, a colleague conversation. You know what I mean? Like I, I believe that's what this conversation is about. And we're going in not sp... We hate man. We hate to be, none of that. None of that people on the board. So you angry people in the comments, go sit down. And we've been really well. But we've got Kevon stage. I'll just remember what Kevin on stage. Kevin on stage. We remember that part of it. It's like wow. There's a lot of people who are that smart. I also had a couple of run-arounds in sports. So this past weekend, Friday night, I, Neil Moosaka had a vent, the cookout, as it is called. And it was really cute. And it was a, it was a nice little quaint event here in the city. And I went to the event. And I thought it was lovely. And one of her agents who works same agency,

28:23I work, I was like, hey, let's go and chat with Naomi. I'm like, that I want to go meet her. And I was like, she's so, and I said, so the first thing I ask, because I'm silly, I go, who's been dressing you? Because you look amazing. She's like, I dress myself. I was like, girl, you can come dress me. She has been looking like a million bucks. She is walking fashion play. That's the first thing she has looked in sensational. She looks sensational. And she was like, I took all my, I was like, you do, I was like the social media, the out everything her, her social media guy was there. I can't think of his name now. Followed him. Sebastian, I believe this isn't amazing. I mean, they've been doing so much great work. This is what I love about what she did. And I'm gonna tell you, because as you know, I love tennis. I'll say that I am the resident tennis expert in my mind. You are. She is doing something like if it wasn't for Serena, like Serena, you know, kick down all the doors. So these girls can show up in their full glory. Because before Serena, do you remember when they find her at a rolling garros because they didn't like her outfit? They

29:23said it was too sexual or was inappropriate. Was that the cat suit? The cat suit. Okay. Right. There was over. There was Venus who had the beads in her hair, which was playing against Lindsey David and Port and they took points away because her beads kept falling out. She was like, it's my hair. So when I remember these early struggles of black women in tennis who were not a label to express themselves with fashion and or who they were mentally grown on this. Who's that line of fighting the air right now? I'll get to that later. I'm gonna tell you what I'm up to. So the reality is these women, I felt just weren't allowed to be their full beautiful selves without somebody coming in from the tennis federation suggesting it was not right and or inappropriate and what they were suggesting without even suggesting it was that we don't understand your culture. Therefore, it's fine. We don't understand why you're doing this. Therefore, it can't be done. And black people understand that women understand that. More generalized folks understand that and it was so heartbreaking. But if it wasn't for them showing up and being so

30:26excellent day in and day out, we wouldn't be able to see Naomi Osaka warm up in a full ball gown. You know what I mean? I feel like we wouldn't be able to see Coco stand there and be her sassy self or we wouldn't be able to see the list goes on of the Sloan Stevens of the world now actually doing playing and reporting at the same time. Like it is the freedom that these ladies have and no one bats an eye is because of the founding sisters. And I think it is beautiful. So when I see her take her creativity to 10, it is amazing. And I told her that and she's painfully shy like woefully shy. I don't even know if she was I maybe she said hi to me. So when I saw that she posted me, I got all excited. I was like, so sweet. But thank you. Thank you for posting on T because the reality is is that she's very, very, very quiet into herself. And that whole night she was there like to herself. And what she also did, she also had a baby early. That's like that's taboo in tennis. That's taboo in sports for women period. She had a baby early. And she said

31:31and I'll come back. I'm allowed to do that. You don't have to tell me my clear is over. She Black Lives Matter. When we were at the height of George Floyd hysteria every single day, she wore a hat of a victim that had been murdered at the hands of police. And she was an advocate in her own silent wake is remember painfully shy. Not much to say she doesn't talk a lot. And she wears and she done you could tell in her media sessions. She does not enjoy these at all. Right. She tolerates them because it's part of the job. But like she does not enjoy that part of it. She's just a first in so many ways. She took some time off and said, you guys give me the fine. I don't want to talk to the media anymore. And everybody's like, that's weak. You can't do that. Sure you can. Sure you can. If you emotionally are put out, yes, that is a part of your job. But if you want to take a beat, take a beat. You're allowed to take a beat. Who says? And so I watch her do these things that are considered the first and they are in very many ways. But thank God there was a serena and a Venus who had to take all the hits, who had to be called all the names, who had to be considered

32:31all the things so that these young ladies can now actually enforce the rules and the freedom that they want to make their lives better. And so I was really happy to see her. And I told her that I was like, you're a hero. Keep doing what you do. And you may not think about it because it's not happening in real time. But I'm going to give you your flowers because I've seen the she loves that scene. The arc, you know what I mean? Yeah. Meanwhile, Novak getting put out look over to Winston is getting out of the first round. And Venus, all so lost to by the way. Yeah. Well, she's tired. I think I'm a book coming on at midnight. And so they're not they're not putting Venus, you know, on court nine, right? Right. She's on the she's on the center. She's got to be on the main stage. So so that's why it takes so long, but I know that that's been an issue forever. At first of all, everywhere for every match, Wimbledon, you name every slam. That's just how it is. And a lot of people are like, Oh, I'm not going on till midnight, but no one thought that that was going to be four hours and 36 minutes. No one knew that he would fight to the end until he had nothing left in him throwing up and everything. And I know the conversation you and I talked about this is like, we'll know that retire. I mean, father time is, you know, the body's unforgiving that he keeps score. So I don't think he's going to retire because he's a jimin. I and he's like, you ain't going to tell me what to do. But I know that he probably doesn't want to go out like that. Right. You know what I'm saying? Do you feel like it's it's kind of caught up with him now that

34:33well, he said he's been sick for a while. Like the vomiting that's happened. Something's going on with his body physically. Maybe his body is rejecting something that he's doing because at one point, he said he felt physically the best he'd ever felt in his life. I had I posted this. I said, it is it is brutal to fight your mind and your body at the same time. I think his mental strength is incredibly tough. So could you imagine being out there and playing five sets and your mind is like, keep going, keep going, but your body's like, we ain't got it. Like that's an incredible conversation that your body and your mind is having and they are on opposite ends and they're fighting one another because I know that mentally, he's like, I can't I can't go out like this. I got to fight, but he had like 70 unforced errors. He was so I don't know. Today is probably a reckoning where you're just sitting there and you're just taking stock. First of all, trying to heal your body and then today is like, you're at home and you and your mind, you're like, hmm, am I? Like what's going on? Is it time? How many more slams do I have left at me? Is it time? Is it time?

35:36And then, you know, our good friend, Joy, we posted, is this the longest match in the history of tennis? And then of course, you're coming to nerve. Oh, yeah, reminding her like, no, it was, it was blah, blah, blah, blah. Right. That was like, it was a necklace. And John is nervous. Like 11 hours and some minutes and it happened at Womble Den over three days, I think. And you know, she just did it. Somebody asked you, but I agree it was a long match. It was who tires. Yeah, I saw somebody posted something apparently that Andre Andre, I can see it said about just what it's like when you're when what you're talking about when your mind is still there, but your body just done. And yeah, body will do it. And Andre, I can see was saying that what a lot of athletes don't realize. And I think he was speaking, he was speaking to his board, but I think it applies in general to professional athletes. He's like, it goes fast. He's like, literally, how you felt six months ago, it will totally change like six months later, even though you might

36:37feel like, hey, I'm in the best shape, this and that. And then six months later, it's like, what happened to me? And he's like, it just goes very quickly. Like your downfall happens way faster than you think. And you know, and not in the way that you expect. And it just takes some time to have that conversation with yourself. Like, is this, is this how much more do I have? Right. And so he's the last of the Malikin. He's the last of the the the the big three, which was Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Jokovic. And he was the youngest in the sense of he got his he got his glory a little later. Roger was the dominant one. Then it was Rafa, then it was Rafa versus Roger. I mean, it was an incredible era, right? And then Novak came out of nowhere, and then it was all those three just hanging with each. It was just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful tennis. You know, Kelsey's been dealing with a lower leg injury the whole season. And so I mean, it took her out for weeks. And then of course, she got traded and all of that. Asia, I don't think that I saw specifically what the injury was or what it is, but it was just determined as health reasons. That was it. And I'm sure there's probably some thinking that, you know, the ACEs got to play off run on the other side of this as well. And you do. And you also,

43:56they also had, I don't know if you remember Asia posting this when they first released the WNBA schedule. She was like, huh? Like, and it was suggesting that they had such a tough schedule. And they were like, how are they going to do all the things? And I know that happens a lot with athletes. And they always say, my schedule is crazy. But I can see her. Yeah, I can see her some low management happening with her. I mean, she's leading the league is scoring. I mean, she is doing Asia like things this season. So, okay, I was right. It was the last four feeble world cups that we won. But the roster still looks amazing. You got Chelsea Gray, Caitlin card, cage beckers, Angel Reece, it still keeps saying, Naphisa, go. Handle, Brianna Stewart talk about it. Yeah. So like, we still sending the big dogs. Like, we still we still stop it with the big dogs. And so I believe that first game, I think is Friday, Friday morning, you know, I think it's Friday morning East Coast time. I think China's the first country that they play. So anyway, I'm really curious to see how this team plays.

46:03which all women love women love. Yes, we love a planner. I'm traveling this this coming week for Labor Day weekend going out the country. I'm coming back and then I'm traveling again going out of the country and I have a small window of time to be around. We should let Buffy know that too because how we're going to get these pods out. Yeah, we'll figure it out. So I told him these are my small window of time, literally like maybe four or five days. And he backed me with a list of restaurants of my choice where I wanted to go. Very well thought out. Okay. Then I said, and I said, yeah, I probably, I don't know if I can be in New York in the summer. It's just two. Cold. I'm not me. See it be winter. It's just too cold. I don't want to be in New York. With New York winter is I'm not used to it. It's a different kind of winter. It's a harshness to the winter. You just don't want to go outside and then when you do got outside, you got to put on layers and layers of clothes and convenient. And it's also no offense,

47:07like when you want to go workout, you got to lather up to put on a bunch of clothes to go work out. And then you unlay your layering and layering and laying close. It's just a lot of work. And I can see why people don't want to work out, but I do, but I can see why. Because I'm on my fitness journey. So he then says to me, just out of the blue, he's like, I agree with you. I am thinking of maybe spending the winter in Turks and or the Cayman Islands because I didn't like the cold either. I used to love the cold, but I don't like it anymore. You know what I mean? And he was like, you just got to find a place and he just went on and on and I was just like, okay. So, homie leaving the bread crumbs. I was like, maybe you know, you know, right? Leaving the bread crumbs. All right, baller. I'll see you. We get it. We get it. You're loaded. We get it. Nothing wrong. Praise the Lord. Yes. Yes. The praise his father. Yes. He's heard my wants.

48:14However, I've seen what you've done for others. But it leads me to believe. And of course, I'm not this kind of woman, but I wonder, do men know that women know what they're doing? And if that is the case, we'll get mad if a woman then tries to run them for money. Not my, not my particular game at all because my ego's too big to be like, give me some money. But like, but I'm hungers, flat out to pocket. I'm at. Right. I got you. When you're like, here, just take the card. I'm like, I'll take it then. If you say, if you say, if should that be you, should you be led to do that? All good. Right. Well, then I'll just do what you say. Right. I can follow rules that grow up. That's when I really shabbered my fall to rules. Zippered lip up on my way. They hand you a credit card. Oh, that's when you're going to be quiet.

49:16Is that what this is? Oh, my God. You see, Cosco, at least I've had enough money to lend an opinion on it. Like I've been broke. This is outside of my pay grade right now. I've never had I've never had enough money to lend an opinion on this. Okay. Okay. Well, Cosco really soon come. You know, I mean, don't come. Let's put that happy birthday, Cosco, really. We put not in a universe for you. It's about I get a four Turks or Kco's. He's like, neither one. I got it. But first of all, I was just like, I just, I was just like, why do they, they always do, but why do they? One, I get it. You're letting me know. Thank you. Appreciate it. You've been he added. He said, in Cayman's great for tax havens. Okay. So you need a tag. I think I got it. So he's he's dropping multiple breadcrumbs in this in this revelation. So he wants you to know that he is financially stable enough to where he could afford to spend a significant amount of time and entire winner in a foreign country. And he also

50:21has enough money and means to where he has to think about how to shelter all that money. So that is interesting. What is money? What is money? What is money? I don't know. I don't. What is money? But you know, I thought about, I thought about you because, as you're us to our conversation, it is. We're going to get to that. We're going to talk about the scamming, wide receiver, or he's not actually a wide receiver, but we don't talk about the, the scammer who is embarrassing my franchise, the 49er scammer. Yeah. I have a hell of a month. Go on. Girl, this is like the off season. Just been dressed. I'm like, in a season star. So we can stop doing shit at any rate. But I thought about you because I sent you this video, Carrie, about the woman. There's a trend online where people is not just women, men and women. They're asking single men and women. They're asking the friends they have of the opposite sex, why they're single. So I never do that.

51:24I think Carrie should do it. No way. Well, one, I was like, do you even have any male friends? Yeah. I was going to say, I was going to say, I don't think I even have one. No, right. I was like, did you add? I was like, do you have a male friend? It would be like, someone I've worked with. Who would be my male friend? I know what I'll do. I'll ask Sevenay. You know what? That would be the way we could open the conversation. As Sevenay, why you still single? Do you want to, you want to, you want the interview or not? You want the show to go on or not? But no, it is, it's an interesting trend. So you have men asking women, they're women friends, why am I single? And this one woman, she asked her do, she asked her male friends why she was still single. Y'all got to hear some of this. Here it is. I think the biggest reason why you're single is because you live in Houston. You're a lover girl that lives in Houston. It ain't no romantic love in Houston. The most obvious reason, get this out the way first. Your ass is too big. You're going to trigger every sexual insecurity

52:28in a man. That's one. You're too damn strong. No man wants a woman that's strong within him. Especially if you're in a gym. You got a bunch of male friends and you like air females. And there's no air for male. It's going to be okay with you having a bunch of male friends. You're just not going to have. So, Carrie, what I would say is you said you would never do this. But because you're asking for, I, but what do you think people would say if you did ask them? Well, they're not going to say I'd be putting hands on man because I don't believe in that. That's the first thing. Because this woman said that in this video. Oh, yeah. A man was on male friends was like, it's because you put your hands on, and I was like, I'm not putting my hands on any gentleman ever. Yes, that is that is not, I do not approve of that. I don't think women should hate men and vice versa, obviously. And I'm not super strong physically. Because I think that also was funny. They were like, well, you really strong. And wait, and they what one of them said is because you can outdrink men. And I was dying.

53:30I was and I can't do that either. But I do it. It would be it would be it would be along the lines of things that I think are ridiculous. But I probably would be smile more, be nicer, be kinder. You think that's what they would say? Yeah, it is because maybe you too tall or you know, or well, you're too smart for sure. They would never say that. They want to want to ever feel for is it is because I asked his two fat. And I was like, the thing is, it's like what is wrong with you all? Which comments to me? Reach of insecurity. All of those comments sounded so vain. It was, oh, you, you too strong. Okay. You're asked to be, you got too many male followers. Yeah, too many male followers, which I didn't even know was the thing. Yeah. Only one that was valid was like, you be put in your hands. I'm like, yeah, you would be a non starter. That's a non starter. That's a non-flashable. But the other things were just ridiculous.

54:30Like, although, although I could, I could look at a guy and say, this could never happen for a guy. Why do you think I'm single? Guys would never do that because they all think they is 20 women to one man. So men would, depending on the guy, no, there are guys who are single freezans. And you know, for obvious reasons. But like an eligible bachelor in theory, like he would, the comments wouldn't be, a woman wouldn't say you follow too many women on social media. That's why you're so. A woman would never say that. Right. She would deal with it. She'd be like, who I thought it's women? You know what I mean? Right. A woman would never say, um, because you got a big head. You know, I remember, I don't know. You're too muscular. That's the right. You're too muscular. That's right. Are you too skinny or are we just wouldn't the, the equivalent doesn't exist. Right. Does that make sense? It just doesn't exist. And so in my mind, I thought it was really funny. But girl, the comms would be unhinged. You think we should play that game? Do you think I can call my friend?

55:33Do I have a male friend? I was like, whatever male friends, like two or three of them, I would, by the way, you should definitely go. I'm going to have your husband leave me a person. Because you know the first thing I'll say, you just, you two single. That's why you two, that's why you got a. He's. I'm going to find your husband. And I'll buy that. Have a. He's my friend. You have a video. I'm having to video. No, he would be a totally. Oh, he would. Oh, my God. I he would write up his alley. He'd be like, I heard me. I wish I started. Then we think of somebody else who is my friend. Do you, who else could we do? I'm like, who else could you? I'm sure I do. Should I do an agent friend of mine? That could work. An agent friend of yours could work. Yeah. Yeah. As Carlos or something like that. I don't know if you do it. Actually, Carlos would be great. Yeah. Yes. Yes. He'd be a good person for. Yes. What he said. I mean, he seems like a pretty reasonable person. And because I, because I, it may be how he has a reasonable person.

56:33Maybe I'll ask my other friends ex. I'll ask her ex as well. I can only ask my friends exes or their current partners. Those are the people who are my friends. I don't have me. I just don't have male friends. That's right about me. I just don't know. Some people actually think. So one of the criticisms of this young lady was one of her male friends said you have too many male friends. Like and there's a dude. Like a lot of dudes are not going to want to. They're going to be very, they're going to question that. And be like, why do you, you know, why do you have so many male friends? So yeah, I don't know. That's a great question. Like I just, I don't have that. Oh, I can ask, I see again, I can ask T. He would be sweet. He would give a good response. So Debra Joyce has been. He would give a good or he would give a good response. It would be, that would be, it would be sweet. I'm going to go take all the, I'm going to take. Yo, me, no husband's response. And I'll, I'll balance it. I balance it with Debra Joyce has been. All right. Because yo has to go roast me till that. He is going to roast you.

57:34Because he enjoys it. That's his love language. You're like, yes, he's going to come free. He is going to like see. Just follow here single. That's the. Here are the many reasons. And you talk to free. You're right. You don't know how to be. You out here being too free. You are you being too free to free and liberate it. With all your, your, your lovely ways. You think you know who? Who I'm kind of, there are a couple who I'm kind of friendly with. I can ask Rick Ross. I can ask two chains. I can ask my friend. I can ask those friends too. Should I mix it up? Should I mix it up? Yes, that would be absolutely incredible. So yes, we are getting this done. Carrie is going to ask her, her male friend why she is still single. But yes, let's get to the story that we definitely wanted to talk about as you gave us this another dating update. I actually like, I got to be honest, I actually like this. I actually like his effort. I think it's very nice that he is going through this.

58:35I hate that the dating world has put me in a position to be like, every time. But listen, I'll spend the, you guys, if you all see me on a beach during the pod, ask no questions. Ask it right. Right. I pretend like none of this, none of this conversation ever occurred. But the whole point was that he was dropping specific information to let you know, like I'm a man of means. And that leads into what was, I think, the story of the weekend, which was this man who was arrested by the FBI because he was impersonating 49ers, why I receiver. And he scammed over 20 women out of $1.3 million. And so just so people understand, like, why would you, in your mind, given NFL player money, even, you know, whether he's lying or not, people need to understand the scam was he was coming off as very well off, that he had invested well. And so he had a partner that he was working with who is, I believe, only 18 years old, which is crazy at the time. Because he did this over what period of time?

59:37Yeah, because it was like over a specific period of time. It wasn't in, it was like a couple of years, one year. Yeah, it was like a couple of years for sure. Okay. And so the, the friend, the partner, was claiming to be his financial advisor. And so of course, what he, you know, women that he was meeting on these dating apps, you know, they're seeing him living well. And then he's like, oh, well, I invest it well. I got multiple homes, blah, blah, blah. So naturally, an easy way to build them out of their money is to say, I can put you on to some of the investments that I'm doing. And that's what he was doing. And that's how he was getting their money. So it wasn't like they were sort of funding his lifestyle. Yes, his name was Dejan Love. And his accomplice was 18. Yeah, Taylor, Jamie Chan. And yeah, it was, they got him in Boise, Idaho. And so everybody is, because this man, when he sold the Bitcoin, he like, he went all in like he committed. This is like acting method acting level commitment. Would you mean tell me more?

1:00:37Because he got a girl, he was posting videos and him working out on the beach with his helmet on, with his 49ers, helmet on. Right. And the weakest route you could ever possibly run. Oh wait, is that the video that is going viral? Where the guy was doing the dance with doing the dance? Like the, the, the, maybe that okay, maybe I'm confusing it. There was a video of a guy like, and wasn't doing a dance. He was just doing some, some, uh, footwork. Oh, doing the, you said, was he doing the dance? No, he did. He was doing, he did. He did do a footwork drill where he looked terrible. And I was like, I was like, watch this. Yeah, and be like, they know way. Is it because somebody posted a video of Stefan Diggs working out on the beach. And they posted it like next to this video that he put out there. And when I tell you, there's a remarkably astounding difference between the two. One, you could definitely look at it. Be like, that do plays professional sports. The other one, like what, what is this? What is happening? But to these women, they're seeing him like he had a McLaren,

1:01:39which clearly he had like, gritted. And so he's presenting the picture of wealth. And that was the draw for a lot of these ladies. For all the ladies. And the fact it was one girl they put on blast because she posted after I guess they had gone out. She posted on social media. Ladies, this is why you should never settle. I'm currently dating a NFL player. And it was him. And I was like, oh my god. Sister might want to, we might want to reframe that. And so now everybody is running to the internet, telling their interaction and talk and, you know, people have posted a lot of the videos. He had workout videos. He had all these, and he is carrying this helmet around like Ricky from Boys in a Hood. You should carry his football everywhere. Like it is crazy. That's okay. That's when you know people are totally insane. And have what he's for sure insane. And the thing was because he, or he had a video of him, a video of him signing his NFL contract, it was crazy.

1:02:41But the thing was, and this is, you know, this is a conversation about social media and being people being allowed to create their own reality. But it's also a question about the large amounts of media literacy that we have in this country. Because when you went to Google him, the AI summary comes up first, right? And what people don't understand that that summary is based off what is already, like other stories. It's not like AI went to check out and see, did this guy really do it? So you have to look at where is the source material. So in the AI summary, it said that he was a player with the 49ers. I'm like, but the something, but the source material was him. The source material was not the 49ers. It was not like, it wasn't a roster. It wasn't that they took his Instagrams. Yeah. And they made. And so it, so when you tell people to Google, you got to tell them, check the source material because AI is a summary. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped

1:08:51I get, I get so tired of people. People will be like, uh, your mama is Diana Champion. And I was like, if you press the link, it's clearly not my mama. It's clearly 14-year-old white woman. I'm like, what are you talking about? Who's dying? Like, yeah, so I'm over. I lost the fight. I don't even care. Like, it's crazy. It's insane. But okay, so these women gave him money. And are they expecting to recruit, cook that money? Yeah, they were expecting like a return. Because, and Buffy just dropped this in there, is that he was presenting himself as not just the member of the 49ers, but also a wealthy real estate investor. So of course, if he's like, hey, I got this property. He, give me 20 grand. I'll get you back, you know, when I'll double it or triple it, yeah, they're going to give them the money. Because they're looking at how he's living. Living his life. Didn't you say he bought a woman a Corvette? So this woman said her experience with him was that they went shopping and he's spending all the money. Like, he just spending it up. And he was like, she was like, yeah, because I think she said she wound up giving him like $10,000 or $11,000.

1:09:54And she was like, yeah, because when I went shopping with him, he had it like that. And he bought me her Corvette. So for him, that's like an easy worthwhile investment. Like I'll go, fall, you know, he might have returned all that shit the next day. Number one. And it's like, yeah, I'm going to take you shopping or go shopping with you there. And I'll be up in the Louis store and I'm going to be buying all this stuff. And if I know that my return is going to be 10 to $15,000, like that's an easy investment to make. Like that's nothing just to give you the fantasy of I got money. And so it says something about where we are. And just the scamming get a bag at all costs kind of culture that we live in. And it also says something about everybody has this get rich quick mentality. And when I say that, I'm not talking about him. I'm talking about the women that were entertaining him. Because they're thinking like, I see a lick. This zoo play in the NFL. He has money like that come up mentality. And I'm like, ladies, if there was ever a lesson to be learned here.

1:10:55It is like you got it. And that is why that's why I'm like, I don't believe you. We're the house in the can. Right. That's why my man is telling you like, yo, so Terpson, K-co's perhaps I will spend the winter there. And it's like, you'll use been the winner. You ain't go give me the next thing I know. Can you split this? Right. Nope. Right. Exactly. I'm like, no. I'm not. I heard about you. Five diners. Yeah. I know we all love to. No, no, no. You know, it's really interesting what you can get away with now. I go back to the top of this this pot. Once you realize that everyone in the internet is stupid, you'll have a better understanding of how things are. Stupid and apparently fake. Yeah. Well, because well, first of all, the internet is about presenting a lifestyle. I've noticed everybody on social media, whenever somebody posts about how happy they are, I'm like, you am. When everybody is over posting their mate. Right. Yes. Like you in trouble. That's why you in trouble.

1:11:56You in trouble. Why he over posting his wife? He did something wrong. I just don't you don't have to post to show you're happy. I don't. I'm not, but that is a true or whatever is going on. That is a true way that this generation believes. I get it. I totally get it. I think it's different though when you see, because you don't see like, I don't use that what I said about Nihomi as an example. Her social media is on fire, meaning it's actually just showing that she really has fashion and style and edge and culture. If you're showing me something great, like there are these true people who have style and fashion and they are giving you some information. But the constantly posting to show you I'm rich, the constantly posted show you I got it like that. I always it always makes me pause. And I'm just like, something's going on. There's, I don't know what it is. And I'm sure studies have been done. And I am not a psychologist, but to show consistently every now and again, flex. Get it. Get it. Jamel, every now and again, shout out here flex and go look at her page right now showing this white outfit.

1:12:57She's showing off her boobs. Stomach out. My stomach, my stomach. My husband posted those photos. That was on his page. That's my castle. He's like, my wife fine. Take a look. My wife take a little LED WK take a look. And we looked and I saw I was like, okay, she fine. She's not bragging every day how fine she is. It makes you get to be fine like this today, Jay. But like my point of constantly posting and showing that I'm this. And I'm like, I don't get it. I don't get it. And I don't believe it also. So when someone is saying something to you that makes you pause, ladies, pause, men, pause. Like everybody can literally think about like wait, this doesn't. But nowadays, you know, nuance, reading the room, that skill set that, you know, isn't there being a little cautiously optimistic. That skill set isn't there anymore because there is this get rich quick or get the bad quick type of mentality that is pervasive.

1:13:59And I find that it is also more popular. Even in our cases, it's like sometimes we forget, I'm like, shit, I guess I do have to brag about something. Oh, man. Yeah. I guess. I don't know. I'm a woefully private person in a lot of ways. So that's why I didn't grow up and the idea of show me, let me show you. Like, I don't know how to do it. Like, so I find myself, you know, people who are my social break, okay. So maybe you should maybe talk about something. And I'm like, oh, more than you're like, I don't want to. Oh, or I don't want to show. It's like, you know, every now and then you feel a little awkward. Like I, you don't have to. But I get there is a game to it, especially if you are selling a product or you have something you want people to buy from you, there is a game to it. You know, you know, that dance, there is that social media dance. But this guy sounds like it seems unbelievable. Like he's out shopping and shopping. And I'm like, what kind of shopping was he really doing? Was he like, I come back and get it? Or he's taking the bags with them, you know what I mean? Right.

1:14:59Right. Was it like, can you hold that for me? Can I put that on there? Right. Because that was a thing. Yeah, what is he doing? Like you shop, you've been in, you've been in spots with people. I've dated men who had a lot of money and they were like, okay, I'll come back and get it or sit at your house or shut the store down. Like you've seen it. You've seen it happen. So maybe he was doing that kind of thing or maybe his friends were working. He had other people in the stores in on it too. Who knows? But I'm like, what was he really purchasing and taking with them? And what kind of Corvette did he buy you? Was it because they had to come with a car no? Because that's what I'm saying. That ain't a gift. You bought it. You bought it. You bought it. Right. You bought it. These girls had this conversation on poor Mize the other day and it was so honest. I was like, God bless them because I'm not really going to be that honest. The girl goes, don't buy me something. I got to pay the car no to the house no. That ain't a gift. But she's right. That is not a gift. Like if it comes with a no, it is not a gift. So yeah, when I, I mean, when I bought my mama card, you just say, my pay for a cash. I didn't say, oh, by the way, you owe, you know, $9.58 a month.

1:16:03Like no, because I wouldn't have been a gift. Yeah. I can. Otherwise, what's that point? That's then that conversation is more like, hey, I can help you. I can get you started. I can, I can put the down payment on it. I maybe pay this year, the first year, but you got the rest of it. But you got the rest. I was like, yeah, that's not quite how that gifting the car experience goes. But you know, I really, and I get it. Like as everybody's getting a clown on, not only about some of the videos that are posting, because I guess to those of us in sports were watching this and we're like, this seems so utterly preposterous. Like, I don't know why you would have believed that this, this dude, you know, when you're saying, you can run a passion daddy. You can't run a passion, you can't, you can ask no male fans that your dating is like, have you ever heard of this dude? Do you know? Do you know? But apparently he's been a scammer his whole life because there are some friends he went to school with who are like, oh no, this dude been lying. He's like, he's been a pathologic liar his entire life. And I just don't, I don't understand that mindset of like, is your, is your present reality so bad that you have

1:17:04to create new fictional realities? Like, is that, like, to me, that's like a mental, right? Yeah, that's a mental illness. Like, this is a mental illness. It's like, you know, wow, you are unwell. If you are out here doing that and, you know, taking advantage of people, I know. And of course, I'm not surprised that there's people who are like, I don't feel sorry for these women. That's what they did and this and that. And I was like, I understand that because they were clearly chasing their own fictional reality. Yeah, I'm okay with that. So I get that. But I'm sure there were some women in there who may have been like, honestly trying to be with them, trying to be with him or, you know, trying to think like, oh, this investment, come up, or give me a second to say, right to this guy. Like, and that shit ain't cool. I'm like, yeah, like, that's my money. That's right. That is the money. But he knew who to target. And he knew who to target with, you know, and I can say this because I talk to somebody about

1:18:07it. We're not going to get into the particulars of it. But Jamel and I, because this is what I thought when you thought about this, we recently started an investment group, a company, right? It doesn't take as, as Trig Daddy would say, who cares about your LLC? That's it. No money in your LLC. Don't about to care about your LLC. That's right. So don't talk about it on your day. Just I would never. At like, you've never heard of an investment group. And tell me how that goes. Right. No, I will say this the update or not, because I've noticed that video is getting women are commenting left and right on that video still to this day. I hope they go and listen to the podcast and its entirety. That was clearly a joke. Please be as smart as you are. Because if you are, you just can't, it just happens. You can't stop it. You just suppress. You open your mouth and the smartness falls out. The smartness comes all out. You can't suppress it, ladies. And the update, I'm smart again. You know what I mean?

1:19:08You come back to us, you come back to us and the world of intellect. Yeah, because I am holding information as one should always. Right. Especially with somebody you just meet. Like, of course, you ladies withhold all the information. And then so, but the other thing that I was going to say to you was that you and I had started this investment group. And I was really proud of what we have been able to do with a short period of time. And I think that I thought at first when that investment came to you and I, it had to do with the WNBA League. And when it came to you, I mean, with the franchise and the WNBA, and when it came to you and I, or it came to me, I was like, is this a lie? Like I held on to that information on the Cigamel for like six months to a year before I even moved because I was like, I don't think I can move on that. It just, so I, I, I understand how women are hold on before they dive in. So I think when I'm thinking about this story, the first, I usually think women's first

1:20:10instinct is to pause and like, I don't know if this is true. Like, to me, that's just our first instinct. But they are sadly are. There are more people out there willing to trust a man or whomever if he appears to have it. But even in my mind, I was like, even, you know, when this, when I, when I got this opportunity to invest, I was like, I don't know, who are these people? Give me some names. Right? You're caught. Automatic skepticism. Just how we move. And I hope that that's a cautionary tale for everybody. Like, ladies, look, I don't care what he say. You know, people be in debt trying to pretend to be something they're not. You know what I mean? Living paycheck to paycheck. It might be big paychecks, right? It might be $50,000 paychecks, you know, every couple of weeks. But they in so much debt that as soon as they get it, it's out the door. You know, they got big bills to go with these big paychecks. And so you should be really, really cautious. I mean, I've learned more, you know, and this is not that you've learned it. But more people are in debt than people are living free. You know what I mean? And that's just a crazy world to me.

1:21:11That's why I'm just like, all right. I mean, you know what I mean? No matter what it looks like, you just always have to have but it's tough though too because what you sometimes encounter are people who are so diabolical that they're willing to sell the bid at any cost. I mean, it's an incident I wrote about in my book, in my memoir, I wrote about this incident about how somebody tried to, this dude tried to try to scam my mother. And really? Yeah, so this is, so yeah, again, I wrote about it. So it's not talking about a school is that this is how he sold the bid. I mean, he wasn't necessarily trying to scam her in terms of like out of her own money, but just pretending to be somebody that he wasn't. You know, I think there was in an effort to emotionally manipulate her. So he may, he just so happened just accidentally his ATM receipt, you know, like he, I think it fell out his pocket or something, but he showed her to her.

1:22:12Right. And then on the ATM receipt, it said that he had $90,000 in a bank, right? So, and you know, coming from we come, that's a lot of money. And that was like in his check-in account, right? Like it wasn't, wasn't in the same as it was in the check-in, but still it was just like, oh, wow. And he, you know, pretended that he was... So dinner on him tonight. And he's meant a little money and he pretends to be this big businessman. And he took her into a car dealership. I think it was a BMW dealership. It was either BMW or Bians. I don't remember. It was one of those. And quote, bought her a car, right? It was like, you know, he was just like, oh, pick out whatever you want, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, you know. And all of these other things. And so anyway, long story short, he turned out to be a scammer. And it's like, you know, she kept calling me like, when are we gonna go pick up the car, this and that. And he like never called her again. It was so ridiculous. And the dealership was calling my mom like, hey, we got this car for you when you come in to get it. And she keeps calling him. And he's like, go sit her completely. Oh my god.

1:23:13So it was, it was, yeah, it was a crazy, crazy situation, crazy story. So any ladies, it's a cautionary tale. Be careful out there, y'all. Fellas too. Cause fellas gonna be like, what about us? You fell as two. They'll run y'all in a minute. Cause they know what y'all weakness is too. They know dangerous power. Dangerous power.
