7:16chats this penta has surpassed anything i expected after he left AEW um talk uh hubby talk about where you've been on penta in his journey through AEW and now in WWE what have you felt was his potential how do you think how would you grade AEW's use of him and what do you think his strengths when weaknesses are can is he getting overpushed at this point because it's just sort of charisma and gimmick but still limited on promos and in the ring it's sort of flashy moves but is he gonna be able to tell it to be style story whatever i just say whatever critics might say like kind of where are you on that on that spectrum and where have you been taking me on that journey yeah i mean uh i first really knew him and watching lucha under when he was playing uh uh uh what was his penta panning on juneer and then penta panning on dark uh when he liked you know so he was always kind of like flitting the um in the little spooky department over there uh but uh

8:17yeah i i i liked what he did i was this pointed with his run in AEW uh part of his kind of it it is kind of him because it feels like he kind of reminds me of june russo a little bit in terms of doesn't really necessarily want the spotlight he's uh or a little bit uncomfortable with it even though he doesn't seem it but he seems to be like when he's with his brother he seems to very much acquiesce and let his brother like be the the main guy right which i always found weird because i always found him much more charismatic much more presentable much more everything than uh then ray phoenix so but when two of them are together as the lucha brothers it always seems like he's um sort of looking for um uh letting ray take charge but letting well the ray phoenix letting phoenix take charge so that's and that was a lot that was pretty much like the entire run in a w and so i was happy that they've kept them apart for now to let him really shine uh and all the

9:20rumors of them maybe getting together as a tag team i'm like uh but uh i that would be my only worry would be if he feels more comfortable like bringing his brother into it um yeah if that would be the only like hang up i would have in terms of like yeah in mapping a serious singles champion champion champion push uh but i think he you know he could be an interesting and like i said not like a perennial champion but someone could hold it for a while uh you mean it do you advocate for him being a world or a doubt of each champion if he were to win money in the bank in cash in let's not worry about how he gets there let's just talk about he's holding one of the two world belts do you advocate for him holding it for a while and building one of the brands around him as the champion or is this fun but let's be real they're gonna not land they're not gonna have a belt land on his waist and have him hold it for an extended period of pay ppl e defenses speaking to wwe i'm thinking you know

10:22as opposed to what i would do uh i'm writing my own federation uh put myself in wwe shoes i think it'll be more along the lines like how to use amazane uh not a long time like this is the guy like they've done with kody and roman um i i would give him the shot but it's just like you know because of some limitations uh you know with the language and the way that tells stories like you you mentioned open you know uh earlier in your question um i think that's what would probably be what pumps the break a little bit for them you know going harder on them but uh i i would you know that's the thing i would there's a lot of people i would just give them a shot when they're really hot and and ride with them and not uh you know instead of just like waiting for like the the moment to give them you know this is the go moment of the good pop you know to get people you know let's be sure he wins in a mexico kind of thing uh you know right now i don't think i think you have much bigger fish right

23:46english thing um and uh for the most part it's what he's saying is finished pretty simple hopefully you were able to pick up the stuff he said um you know uh but yeah overall i i think he does really good job as a promo w w is just not just a promo thing you know they also have back and forth with other wrestlers i think that's where he would likely get more tripped up and it'll sound a lot much more uh scripted because you'll probably have to learn more on script in that case um which would probably be the you know the the biggest um uh uh factor to you know that that might hold him up in that case is the more you know in rings get going back and forth yeah yeah it makes sense okay uh so he is in this match tonight because solosikoa got attacked by Royce Keys and his crew uh thrown in the back of an SUV they sped off Jacob Fattu who had told the oosos earlier in the show not lay low don't play into it he uh joined the oosos and tried to chase down a speeding vehicle um newsflash they did not catch up to it and then Fattu said why told you guys i told you we need to

24:50worry about these guys yet he is his actions heavier are they consistent with someone who is aligned with Royce Keys i joked about it with Penta but is there a serious case to be made that he is either sympathetic to them or secretly aligned with them or is he just sweet smart and go and hey let's not play into him because bad things happen and look what happened here to uh to solo what's your take well i mean what seems most logical is uh he's basically screwing over his uh his family on purpose i don't think that's what they're going for how do that's what what's what's intended but that's what seems like mr all you know all gas no brakes is telling him or hey hold on for like what four weeks now um and yet not putting forth a alternate plan uh i was expecting after the this because it's been um what three specific skits were they were attacking the car taking out and the car was damaged and they burnt down the car and then today and he keeps saying that oh

25:54they're really dangerous people going after them and you know is you know if you go half-cocked and that that's dangerous again because totally against his character um of of of uh all gas no brakes and everything we've seen of him but okay well fine you know he maybe he's more knowledgeable in this i could buy all that stuff they're not telling me that story or not really telling it well enough and the fact that we've basically been um uh all brake no no brakes and just spinning our wheels and not moving three you know for three weeks now yeah basically having you know doing cut and pace repeats and doing the same thing over and over again with a little bit different flavor you know it's it's uh we're in frustrating land how do you feel about the way the narrative is presenting what's happening mostly the announcers but also the fact that after what keys did there's no oh he there's no addressing burning a vehicle um there's no addressing them following

27:00dough to be around but not being in the building and they're playing their videos are those weird because they they played their kind of selfie video in the in the vehicle but they didn't but they caught away like well is happening it was just like they went to test or in bear it kind of abruptly i don't know if that's an accident or meant to look like they weren't officially endorsing presenting their point of view giving them a voice um the announcers aren't saying some of the obvious things they're not really questioning fought to in a way that would lead you to be think that they're trying to lead you towards being suspicious with keys which makes you more suspicious these with keys because that would be tends to stay away from um saying obvious things if they think it is giving away uh where they're going so yeah have you talk about talk about that i mean the obviously narrative structure and wv varies depending on the gimmick look at pre-white and the funhouse and um i mean cane got did stuff and undertake over the years i mean there's all kinds of precedent for kind of other worldly things happening but this is you know i criminal activity i mean an abduction and the announcer seemed

And then he's like, you know, you know, because, because less of the sky, it's street justice or, you know, street, whatever. I forgot the exact word, where he said, but like it felt so scripted and so, like, I'm throwing super sorry. Well, but in a way, where it feels to me like they're like, they're basically trying to tell you, you're not really meant to take this seriously, because we don't want you to, we don't want the kids at home to get scared. And we kind of want to like underscore the fact that we're telling a story. And this is just part of the at guys, that that's kind of the tone I get from the way they deliver these things, instead of like owning it, you know, they're trying to undercut it so you don't actually feel the nervousness, you don't feel the danger. And for their part, the six one nine or whatever numbers are using, they, you know, they do, or they are selling the threat, they are selling, you know,

38:58we're going you, you used to, you really screwed, well, technically it was him, where his keys, but you really screwed me. Now now I'm taking this outside the bounds of WWE. And that felt like that feels like I keep saying I want to feel danger in WWE, you know, and they always seem to undercut it, like whenever we start feeling a little bit with like the, you know, with the MFTs and solo, you know, early in the early bloodline days or, you know, even the what they call the reckoning, you know, then they get to undercut. I kind of, I like that, but then when you start selling it in the, you know, this is what happened in the beta, you know, and because, and not in a way where like, if, because that's the thing, is that even like they're trying to report on it and not make it look like they're, you know, and trying to do it in a calmly way, it feels that they're just running a shape down a list of, as they do, this obviously with every single promo, but when you're sorry, with every single storyline they're telling,

40:00but specifically this, you know, this one we're supposed to be, it's supposed to feel like, oh, this out of control, they're still saying the, the, you know, the point by point, the bullet point by bullet point of what you're supposed to be taking away from the story, which feels like they're telling, hey, look, this is what you're supposed to be taking away. This is the way, you know, this is supposed to be what you remember, because you're too busy scrolling on your phone, and you know, this is what you're supposed to be paying attention to. So that's kind of, it still feels that way, and I think that robs it for a midfieling like, oh, wow, you know, there's something dangerous out of control, not part of everyday operating, WWE operations happening. And so that it counters what they're trying to do, and I kind of wish that you just embrace it, and you know what, you're probably some people upset about it because, oh, you're staring my kids. Deal with it, you know, yeah, I mean, don't do it if you can't own it, if you can't lean into it, I mean, just if you were doing something, but now we have to downplay it, then why do it? You know, I mean, because it looks cool, but then you have to undersell it and downplay it afterwards. 41:02he's suspending them. So, and then I'll give this storyline a pass. That's the thing, I don't think think pro wrestling fans, adult pro wrestling fans need a lot. I think they're willing to let you go outside the lines a little bit, but you got to own it and adults in the room have to react in a way that feels like you're not just insulting the audience by going, oh, we just did this for fun because it's flashy and out there. The video with Keyes and his guys with Bronco and Lucian in the back seat looked like they were going for without totally copying it kind of an NWO-esque vibe. You know, the end of it would break in with the messages during Nitro brought to you by the NWO that kind of little scratchy vibe to it and stuff and it was produced by them. And they're doing, it's not copycat because this is this, it's a smartphone era and obviously it's a selfie video and they're what sending it in to Dota V and I guess daring them to air it or it's live and Dota V has somehow it hooked up the car. I remember Tony Consid he's never going to do stuff like

42:05that and then he did it once with, oh, who was it? In A.W. very early on, he did a thing where there was a dash cam that suddenly got connected to the live feed on T, when Dino was on T and T and I gave him a hard time about that. It hasn't happened so then a lot of people go a hard time about that and he hasn't done anything like that since and he does try to stick with they're being a plausible, an apparent and a plausible reason for anything that you see on the TV show. So what do you think they're going for and is there is there a way to frame it or present it differently than they are? Have you? Yeah, I don't know how it gets to them or why they would aerate if it does, we're just going to have to, you know, shrug. I do like the way that this one specifically looks different because you're talking about robbing polished, this is not polished. Yeah, yeah. So that's what I liked about it because again, it adds to that, you know, this dangerous flare and it felt like,

43:06they had it was them cut it off because you know, he cuts it off but as the phone's going down, they're turning it off, you hear somebody else talking, you know, like it's about to start talking. So it felt more natural in the moment, you know, like somebody goes to talk, you know, you're you're standing down, but you're hearing what's going on. So I kind of I dug that. The thing I dug also was in the beginning is when you you actually see them drive by when they're they're shooting, they're shooting solo, walking to arena, you actually see them drive by in the background. So, you know, so that that was already sitting, you're paying attention, that was already sending the mood. It's you know, hey, something here's going on. I'm hoping because you mentioned it. I'm hoping Solo's not involved with them. That would be that would be one of those things. Five two, five two, but there was a speculation of Solo also. I hope neither are involved with them because you know, because it just not it either involved, they'll feel like a swarver in case of a swarver in case of Solo, like, you know, so they beat him up, you know, he allowed

It just swore for Swarve and fought to again, like, I could see him I could see him sabotaging the bloodline, but not for keys just because, you know, he's pissed with them, but I also doubt that too. Who are who are who is the the sympathetic protagonist or hero of this story? Are is there a chance? Keys is our, you know, bronch on the scene we haven't learned a lot about, but is there is there going to be some justification for what keys is doing?

50:40Is it pretty clearly solo? Who's, you know, chumming it up being chummy with LA night? Or is it ultimately the usos who are trying to see through Jacob or not who are going along with Jacob, but too reluctantly when he says lay low or is it ultimately Jacob about to is going to join keys and it's all going to be justified. Um, because XYZ regarding Roman or whatever I there's so many different kind of parts here that I know LA nights of babyface and I know fans like him and they cheer him no matter what we'll get to his promo momentarily here. But what are they going for otherwise or is it, is it just gang warfare? Pick who you want or just try to, we're just trying to do, you know, compelling TV. I've got solo and LA night as baby faces. Whether solo's truly a babyface or he's just taking advantage of, you know, TV with LA night because, you know, he needs backup is up in the air, right? He got over with,

51:46you know, the stuff he was doing. So I think they're fine letting him play babyface. I don't know if he's going to stay in that roller. He is at least for now as we're speaking, but you're supposed to feel for him as a babyface with a true or not. I think he's himself. He's justified for what he did because he was, you know, almost killed by the bloodline and Jacob about to. So I think he's justified in terms of what he's doing, but, you know, also like going way over the line. Because cold the frame as in that initial angle, Cole said the bloodline drove him to this. I mean, that is the one narrative clue we have that steered us, but the crowd was booing. Because that's what they, because they want to, you know, because like he's, he is the bad guy. He is because he's, he's going a step too far granted. He hasn't gotten a step too far with people who haven't necessarily wronged him, you know, or he doesn't feel like they've wronged him because the whole, you know, so it, because remember, so it was after him. So that's what, what drove him into that. I'm pretty sure like everybody was involved in some way, shape or form with, with keys at that

52:51point. And he feels betrayed by everybody. So, so in his mind, he's justified. So he's actually, so he's, but he's a heal, but he's self, you know, he, in his own mind, he's justified. He's, but he's now going back to, I'm just going to just, you know, wipe the slate clean, destroy everybody to get my revenge. You know, I think that will lead to some people saying, Oh, yeah, cool. That's cool. He's doing, you know, but I think that that kind of leaves him kind of like in between just based on how they're, how they're like booing Roman Reigns right now. I think that the, the bloodline is more firmly in the heel seat with Jacob Fattu, possibly, you know, kind of like on the fringes of it that he could turn baby face. I think that's kind of where we're out right now. It's a lot cleaner than it was in the while ago where it felt like they weren't really sure where it was going. But at least it seems like the fans have kind of decided they've been booing Reigns. They've been cheering L.A. night. They've been cheering Penta. So I think some, in some of those cases, I think where things

53:54are beginning to solidify. So I think it's baby face group. And at least, hey, look, it's three direction fight. And you got one baby face against two heels as opposed to, you know, our usual two baby face groups and then versus the heel. So I think that I think that's where they are. It's still a bit murky because I guess that you have Jacob Fattu who might not be, you know, bad. You have Solum Succo who might not be good and just staying to vanish. You know, you got some, you know, you could almost call as it is right now, keys gray because he's justified, but also not doing it right. You know, he's looking for revenge, not justice. So if you check comments along these topics, I'm like good, says does WKRBOT faces or heels for this or is getting a reaction all they care about? So you speculated what they're going for. Ultimately, is it fine just to have it not be clear if there's an end goal?

54:55There's an endpoint that they're building to. Is it fine to do months of having wrestlers who you don't know whether you should or feel like you ought to be cheering them or or booing them and you're sort of hedging or reacting in the moment. It might change week to week or segment to segment. Is that fine as long as you have LA night as a strong baby face? Pentates a strong baby face? Sammy is a strong heel. Cody is a strong baby face. That's that right. Thank you for opening that door. Yeah. Thank you for having another. Ultimately, you want to get people in the old days to pay money, but now people are paying money because we're going to watch the show anyway. So still factor, but ultimately what you really want is engaging with the match and one to go see the paper. You're right. You want to see the blow off. You're going to see the development. You know what I'm saying, but I'm not that people are going to, you know, it's not like on the level as it was, you know, like at the territory days because that was like you're you need to do this. WWE is a brand and that's going to help them to some level.

55:59But you ultimately want people to be invested, right? So how do you do that? You can invest them in one is see it good. You know, one is see someone succeed. That is your baby. That's sorry, that's your face. You want to see someone succeed. You have a strong face. Cody Rhodes, for example, you want to see him one or you have a heel and you want to see him lose. You know, you want to see Roman Reigns get beaten. You don't care who it is, but you're going to tune in to see Roman Reigns get beaten. Or you want to see the story and you want to be invested in the story in which case it doesn't necessarily matter if one is, you know, if people divide in one or the other. Like passing of a torch moment, Okaada versus Tana Hashie, right? Some people are going to love Tana Hashie. He's the old-school guy, but some people are ready for the other one. The story is the passing of a torch. Does this torch get passed? You're more, you're interesting that. So ideally you can, you write the book, you can show the book, right? You want to have the story,

57:01the heel and the face all converge in the same story because you have now triple engagement, right? That's the ideal. But you don't necessarily need to have all three of them in one match. So the problem with the bloodline story is that it hasn't been as engaging as it needs to be to draw you in. It's interesting. You know, last time I was on with you, I was like, I'm interested in it. I'm wondering where it goes. But like, you know, if I miss next week, I'm not going to be, you know, just not driving me to TV. It's not driving me to paper. It's just, it's unscreened. I'm interested. I'll watch it. You know, like you're straight to the channel. Oh, look, you know, let's see what's going on here. It's fine, you know, but it's not going to, it's not going to get you to buy the ticket. It's not going to get you to, you know, is it okay to have an exception like this, though? Because obviously, Oba will get into it. Oba's a top clear, clear babyface. So it's Javane Evans, penta, clear babyface, LA night, clear babyface. Bailey, a clear babyface against Lyra, even though Lyra has the case that she makes,

58:04live going for heel heat, all of judge him day going for heel heat, JD, a heel going for boost. Is there enough of the face heel construct that it doesn't matter if at the top of the card, mainly in the men's division, although with Becky, you get a little bit of that too, with the care, where it's like, I'm kind of having to choose who I cheer for, opposite of live. Is there enough of the heel face construct that the exceptions are a novelty and keep things from being too forcibly structured or do they need to get past this and try to avoid it, but everyone's in a wilder situation comes up where you kind of got to do it. Like philosophically, how do you feel about that? Well, I mean, I think it's ideally you want to also have someone you can cheer for in it, right? Because the bloodline, the bloodline 1.0 story, which I think is, you know, modern WWE has probably been one of the ones I've most enjoyed, it was more about the dynamic between

59:04everybody. That's what was the real draw. It was what was going on. Okay, you know, arguing, you know, people want the same as they had to succeed and brains to fail. You know, you can make that argument. But above all that was the story. People were engaged in it, you know, the moment where, you know, the moment, don't want to care about really J. Usso, but when J. Usso said, nobody, you know, I don't care what the tribe with chief things in that famous spot, when he says that, and then the collective gasp in the audience, they're like, you know, what he had just said. You know, it was that moment. So because people were invested in the story in that, not necessarily who's the big, because I mean, remember, Zane was not, you know, Zane was trying to, you were hoping for Zane to join a group that's toxic, which is hilarious. But, you know, you know, you don't really wouldn't want that, but you wanted it because you were engaged in the story. You want to say what the story was? Because you liked him and he wanted it so badly, because he needed to be accepted. Yeah, so, so, you know, but you had him, you know, pushing that.

1:00:07In this story, you got Ellie Knight, maybe, but again, he's kind of like only peripherally. I mean, he, it's funny because like every single time he's talking about what's going on, he says, look, I got, I got a title shot now with a rant on Monty and Bag. We're worried about, we'll do the picking, we'll pick them apart later. We'll worry about that later. Let me win first. Let me take my stuff first and then we'll worry about that. Like he wants nothing to do with the story. So, again, it kind of feels like fine. It puts over the title. Yeah. Well, no, and it gets him over because that's what he's true to his character. Yeah. And yeah, and like I said, the title also, but and the Brainst in which, and that, because I think that's another problem, is that this story is about Reigns, but Reigns and I know that it's also, so, you know, so yeah, so that's that's the thing. So I think it's fine for a story to exist as long as you're telling it well. This is not, you know, going over well, but we could say the same thing when you have a strong baby face and he's being booked early, like look at Cody Rhodes, the last like year, you know, or they keep handycapping them. So I think that it's fine. All the three different versions of it can exist. It's obviously

1:01:14easier and more, you know, for the long, you know, for the long term, I mean, like for a generation, if you have a top guy, for you just to have the one top guy and go to simple stuff where everyone wants to see Oba Femme, be the top guy, maybe have a rivalry with with with with a brawn breaker, you know, build up the rivalry between the two of them. So you have one you cheer, one you, one you, boo. It's the easiest. You could then pepper in the story that, you know, use a story to pepper and to season it instead of, you know, it being the main driving because it's a lot, I think it's a lot harder to drive a wrestling event based on storytelling than it is to just on the star, who the, you know, who your stars are in both the people you cheer for and the people you go against. That's not to say you can't do it. It's just it's a lot harder. It's, you know, you're, you're you're further behind the the April in storytelling. People have different perspectives of what's going on. So you move some not everybody might buy into it. I bought heavily into the Bray Wyatt story. I love the Bray Wyatt story. You know, obviously a lot of people are not because of the because of

1:02:18the subject matter. TNA, one of my favorite stories was the whole hive story with Rosemary. And I know everybody, you know, a lot of people had that, you know. So, but again, it's, it's, it's a lot easier to have just a popular person, an unpopular person, them going against each other. If you could get a good story out of it, that's a bonus to it. And they're sort of, you know, his gimmick is he's from the streets of Oakland and now he's using, you know, his street smarts his street techniques to make a statement as Dota be would would force the neutral with their force neutral phrasing that's he's making a statement. So yeah, we're on on how Royce is coming out of this so far. Yeah, I mean, I like that. I like the concept a lot. You know, of not nest 100% sold on the execution thus far, but the concept of him feeling great, great word there that says he hasn't really integrated with the roster. It makes it gives them the feel of an outsider, which enhances the danger. I like the idea that they paired on up with a group that we haven't seen on TV. Again, outsiders. You had mentioned the NWO that had that feel to it again because you know, they were

1:12:03literally called the outsiders. You know, so that that feel of, you know, we're bringing something that's an alien to this antiseptic WWE is what feels, you know, cool about it. And again, it's I call it a danger factor, but you know, that's that's what I'm referring to. And I love that concept. One of the lines that weighed that kind of tick me out was like, oh, we've never seen like an outstretched setter group dangerous like this. And unlike you had the reckoning, you had the white six, you had why it you had even from his time, what was called that group? 1:15:07which he expresses. Those are all still traits that that defined him early on and he still has. Um, but he is trying to get through those to lay low lay back. That's how we that's the right way don't give him what they want. So yeah, how do you think Royce Kees is doing in this? I'm sorry. How do you think that Jacob at two is doing in this? Yeah, I don't think he's doing too good. I'm not falling on it. I don't think. Um, I think it's just the story line, particularly, particularly their part of the story is just if you think that it's, it's, there's kind of past three things. All we got week one, jumping, blood, broken car, week two, car on fire, week three, brother kidnapped, estranged brother kidnapped. Again, and with Fattu saying, you know, chill out, chill out without giving a, this is the plan. You don't even tell us the plan. You know, he just say, Hey, look, this is what I got a plan. This is what we can do. This is how you fight them. And then you see them carry out the plan. We might not know about it, but here just feels like I'm, I'm, I'm siding with, with, um, a night one when you're something chill out.

1:16:13I'm like, I'm with Fattu here, but week two and week three and Fattu selling, hey, chill out, don't do anything rash, you know, because they're not even getting beat up over it in the, the second we just burned the car. And I'm like, like, what did that matter? You know, because he said, oh, you know, Laylo and then they go to the ring and it burns on the car. It didn't end up in a beat down. It had to end down the beat down. Then it would have made sense that Laylo would have been the right thing to do. But the car would have been burned down when they went to the ring or not. So what was, you know, what was Jacob's, you know, wise, advice there about. And then here the same thing, like, Laylo, what was he saying? You know, you need to hide. Again, it just, it doesn't, I don't know why he's saying that. And the fact that he's supposed to be as streetmart, street smart as, as keys, because they, you know, they came around the same circles. They were made him and track them and want to follow him and stuff right now. Right now he's giving us, it's like, you're something that you always say, way, when you want to be a good heal, cut off everything that people like and give them nothing. Or what they like. That's what we're giving us right now. He's giving us nothing. Just keep telling people to cheer and stuff like that. You can't get in. Nobody want to see that you want to follow a baby face. You don't have no type of action. I don't react to anything and don't do nothing. So I don't know. You could say, this is a heal term for him. But I can say he's so far away from me and a baby face. So you can just have him turn on the bloodline and try to meet that baby face. He's so far from there right now. That's how they presented him because he didn't follow. Yeah, I mean, that could be the strategy. Take away the things that were attractive to the fan base about him, subtract them so that they can position him to be

1:24:28boot. I don't know. I'm not convinced that's what they're trying to do, but it could be. I mean, that is on the table as an option. What else? Oh, good. Yeah. So maybe that could be what you could have sold it as is that that that his inaction and his trying to get and him preventing the Uso's from acting is malicious compliance towards what Raymond, what, uh, Roman Rans' instructions were. But again, it, it, they haven't reinforced that. That's what they're, they're going for. All right, Drill. And I can't even go off of that no more. I have to eliminate

1:25:29out of the whole conversation because tonight, um, neither the Uso's nor Jacob responded to LNI when he came back. I know it was a while seeing with solo again, taking on taking, but any other time, anybody has ever gotten a touch Roman, which LNI just did it last week. They would have something to say or want to do something. They didn't do nothing tonight. And also Roman for weeks, until, except the, like four weeks ago, he told Jacob to have the national problem and you have to look, I ain't worried about it. He ain't test ties him about anything. The Uso's got to beat up. He didn't test ties them about that. He didn't test ties him about that. He just walked in and he was worried about who going to win the tournament and he got pungent and stuff like that. That was my reason on why I think Roman is not going to get added to this story at all. It's like because he has devotions, some away from just keeping out his hands. You know, one that's in the new with it at all period. So it's hard to tell how can you judge who are facing this or whatever. With the

1:26:35main guy, don't even want to respond to it. Yeah. I mean, I don't know if it's a feature or a fly in other in their mind and other telling the start. They're avoiding it because they can't make it make sense or they see that as intriguing and they'll be a payoff down the line. I'm not sure. What else do we covered so much on that on that aspect of the show so far? Anything else you want to tonight? Oh, Roman. And Roman is 10 of like the least pin in the role was the judgment day and the vision all over the world. They had everything. You can see that slowly the heat for the judgment day is growing a little bit more and more because the multiple times they came out, they kept getting reactions and kept getting mood, kept getting whatever they even tried to make J.D. feel serious tonight with the promo that he could about the off from my head and how that and mom and dad and they let Becky respond to it and call out to it and stuff like that. So I like that they've

I think you still don't have a lead heal that you would really need to just make people go but you got something you got something right now and I'm gonna talk on the vision afterwards but how do you feel about what they did with the judgment day tonight? I know they lived with the Becky and the man of them and stuff like that and things but how did you guys like it because I think it worked for a few different things? I think I have a very normal-sized head as a quote that will live in infamy and the way he said it was just perfect. I have a very normal-sized head. I love that moment and then Raquel's patting him on the head not literally but basically when yes that's true. You have a very normal. I assure you that's true. I thought it was entertaining. 1:28:39all stressed out over this and you start to feel bad for J.D. because Joe Henry is picking on something that wasn't a flaw of J.D.'s character. He didn't decide to make his head bigger because he thought it was cool. It's not like getting piercings or a tattoo or a hairstyle or clothing or muscles where you like you know you're like people make fun of Brian Cage for being super muscular if they want because that's a choice he's made but the whole you have a big head thing it's sort of like hey let's pick on something that's different about this guy that he has no control over. So I think the whole thing just feels like Vincent Mann bullying it's flawed in that way. That said people are getting a kick out of it because it's J.D. and he's selling it well. Now how have you all thrown you? I'm sure I'm able to say about it but what do you think? Yeah I mean to be fair he could play far quad in a live action Shrek movie. But I've liked the overall the I've always liked the judgment day and it seems like well someone that seems I might be getting a little bit of a push because the audience was in there was Perez too so I'm hoping to see that give her a chance to see what you could do.

But how did you all like everything? Yeah, I'm excited here. Javier's take on what we saw with Breaker. Everything Daryl brings up the dynamic backstage with Paul Heyman. I don't know if it's Paul look like he was thinner in the face by the way. We can get a wide shot. But it seems like he's been losing some weight. I don't know. It could just be the camera angle lighting. But the idea breaker and Heyman standing next to each other, but not looking at each other and talk kind of side talking. And then Breaker finally turning to him at a peak moment in the promo. It's an interesting dynamic there. And then I mean, it's, I'm confident it's leading somewhere where they know where it's leading. So you've got Breaker who they've always said isn't he's not a lug head.

1:39:48He's, you know, got a football player, lineman body, but he is intellectual. He is an intellectual too. And they're kind of playing up that there's some maturity and strategy that comes along with his decision making. So yeah, Hoppier, tell me what you're, what you're, how you're enjoying this and what you're pulling from and reading into as a result. Well, they've done that story with Breaker when he first came. Was it he was shooting his zane or who he was shooting with? Where they basically the story where he is intellectual, but then he could also be pushed into snapping. And then that's when he makes mistakes. And I think that's how he lost the first intercontinental title. And then he won it back as he actually fessed this, but plus 40 Kai cue points. But, but yeah, so he, so that kind of felt that I had, that that's what felt like after the slab. I did not like the way they did that though. How the entire thing played the entire from that point on, because when, when Joanna Evans, let's be real first.

1:40:52And where I think these characters, these, these wrestlers are at. Brom Breaker, if all the family is going to be your one and your in the future, Breaker is the possibility to be your, your, your one B, right? His foil right now. I don't think there's any, anybody else, Goon third, but Goon third also, you know, now on the other side. So, but in terms of like these two should be the rivals you're pushing for, you know, you could then maybe float in trick willems and stuff, but that's what I think you really should be protecting from Breaker. For Oba's sake, if, if not for Breaker's sake. So, so when Jovan, Jovan Evans is going to be popular. He's going to be great. He's not unless, you know, again, the stars can align. He might have a zizzy and you're going to have, he could catch Superfire and he's going to be, you know, you could get out there. He's still young too. He's still, you know, fill out.

1:41:52But right now that character is more of the, you know, let's, you know, the bouncy, the bouncy's not going to be the world champion in the next year. So, when he slaps him, I'm like, he's got to leave in a body bag. Yeah. You know, and especially when he holds back the rest of the group and says, you know, he's trying to get a rise out of us, right? What is should have happened in that match is Breaker should have dominated him. From the beginning, he should have destroyed him for five minutes. Then he could maybe, so he starts getting cocky and, you know, he, he doesn't pay him and then, you know, so Jovan to get some, some licks in and then have olba famines. And so the thing is to get olba fam involved, have him come, come, come to help Jovan Evans. I know the reason they don't do that is because Jovan is going to be in money in the bank. So then what are you, you know, what are you setting up for money in the back?

1:42:55But that aside, it's just bad optics that then when we book the match is then Jovan Evans beats Breaker for the majority of the match. And then Breaker needs help to win. And he didn't win. You lost by DQ too. I mean, what are we layer? It's there. That's a loose. Yeah, that's a loose element. Yeah. Every layer was there because you're like, okay, Jovan's going to get it. Oh, he's not getting it. Well, he's getting a lot of offense. Okay, they're telling the story of Jovan gets a lot of offense, but ultimately he eats a spear and he lives just clean. Oh, wait, nope, they're not going to do a clean one for Braun, but certainly they're going to have the vision interfere and help Braun win, which is, oh, wow, they're really protecting Jovan. And then that didn't even work. And it was a DQ when I was it read who shoved them off the top rope or whoever, um, theory. I think it was Logan. Logan? Okay, one of them. Yeah. It was like one, I kept him in like you. I was, I'm not as long as you're talking. He's like, okay, he's, he's, he's going to be steamrolled by break or, oh, wait, he's not. Okay, well, he's going to lose to break or okay, he's not.

1:43:56Oh, there's going to be interference to protect, to protect him and losing. Okay. Oh, he's not even losing after interference. I mean, I'm repeating it because it's so shocking that they decided to give this level of a push in this level of protection to Jovan. And the question is, is Jovan can Jovan benefit from this or is this something that defines down breaker because Jovan isn't at his age and his personality, his, his, you know, presentation and his body type and not having success necessarily consistently leading up to this in the ring. Um, does this actually hurt Brian more than it helps, Jovan. I mean, and the thing is you could probably have put, I don't think there's a restaurant in the roster you're going to put into that position that Brian was in today that would have run list. The problem is that Brian is important for the future. You know, he, he should be built to be as a badass because right now you're building Oba Femme to be unstoppable, completely unstoppable.

1:45:00You should be doing that with someone too. Yeah. For him to be the big guy, the guy that's going to be, and it's like, if, if I know it was selling for Cocoa, be where and then Coco one by DQ in the build the rest of the media three against Hogan, that'd be crazy. It, it's, and what's frustrating because like, you have, because with the person that, that, that breaker is with that intelligence, that malicious intelligence that he has, his physically, Oba Femme looks like should could overpower him, right? He looks like he has a lot of the, you know, physically he out, out does breaker in a lot of, in a lot, maybe not in athleticism. But overall, I think you give him the, the, the, the head. So, and I mentioned this last week, Femme should not be beating breaker, breaker should be beating Femme because of his intelligence. He should be winning and not like flat out like cheating either, but like, you know, grabbing

1:46:00the, grabbing the, grabbing the tights, little bit here and there, she just enough to, to edge it to his side because then you're building up something that matters with Femme when Femme finally is able to get his hands on breaker and be beaten for real. But again, but when you have him going, it just felt like what, what, what we can talk about in, in AEW where like, when, when, when, um, um, uh, uh, only a few minutes long against, yeah, I was like, I tried, I tried to land on one. Yeah. Can you, Omega goes 20, you know, 20 minutes with, um, uh, uh, Nick Wayne, you know, yeah. Yeah. That's kind of what this felt like and, and, and, and, and it's worth. So go in 20 minutes of QT Marshall or, yeah, WW, you know, WB's not, not a company that does that. They're more, they're more cognizant of that. So when you do it on this match, I'm, I'm like, you know, I, I understand the, because I always try to figure out why you would do it. Right. I think, I think the reason why they would do it is because Javan Evans is in the money

1:47:03in the bank, and they want everybody in them and they're trying to give him something. So that he seems like he belongs in money in the bank, because as it is, he doesn't look like he belongs in the bank. He's obviously there just to be the guy, you know, to take the big, the, the big bumps. You know, I get, and you want to try to build them up like, oh, look, he can, you know, and, and that was obviously the mandate because if you listen to the commentary, they were like, Chris Connelles were talking about, um, would have been funny. Remember the quarterbacks then. Yeah. You know, um, that, that's the thing. He just kept, they, they, they were like, Javan, my God, what am I? Oh, my, that's bad. It was great. Javan, and I'm like, obviously they went in with saying, we're going to put Javan Evans over for money in the bank, but you're not in the money in the bank. Javan Evans looked good for money in the bank business. You should be in the building up the next generation. Yeah. I know. I, that is, if they better, they better push Javan. So right now, I think they probably looking at Brutson, somebody who's already established and they're trying to figure out what they want to do with him because if you go out for what they tell you right now and how his response with Heyman, he's somebody who's trying to figure out what he want to do. You got a question about with Heyman, do you know what you're doing? Do you know what you need to do? You kind of second guess it yourself. You ain't confident no more. Now he's trying to develop something totally different and their sacrifice and what they previously gave us to give us something new, I think. But he wasn't protecting it all in that whole segment. I'm here. Yeah. With Brutson and Heyman, Heyman does things subtly and they know where the camera is and

1:55:22how to pull stuff out. I love it because you just talked about what it looked like. We're looking at each other and then they turn. When he turned to him, as with the conversation was, was Heyman saying, you didn't take out, you didn't take out a family's back, you didn't take him out, he's still breathing. I mean, kind of weird thing to say, you know, when you're expecting to kill him. But you know, okay, so he's saying he's still breathing and then the response being a breaker saying, you know, the thing is that he's going to take me out, I'm still breathing and I'm going to be dangerous for everybody because everybody and then this all he turns to Heyman says everybody, including that he's dangerous to Heyman. So I like the, you know, I really like that without it without them to comment, commentator two seconds later saying, oh, was he referred to Heyman? You know, so, but I really dug that to to a level personally in my life because this is kind of like mystery box storytelling.

1:56:23Like what does that mean? What does this, you know, are they really together? You know, because they're kind of friendly, but also there's like blood, you know, there's a little tension there, you know, they're kind of not really selling, they're, you know, not not showing you their hand or anything. So you kind of got to guess where things are lying. I'm kind of tired of that storytelling, but you know, it is what it is. But overall, and in this case, I do have faith that Heyman will land on, Heyman, at least just going to land in a good place. So because, you know, he made sure to drop the vision like a bad habit when it was just ostentory and Logan Paul. And that's pretty much it. So yeah, I mean, it's, it's intriguing with what's going on with the whole, almost like love triangle between Breaker and Femi and, and him. And although I do think that Daryl's right that we're going to get Femi's going to have

1:57:24to go through break, sorry, through, um, what's the name? Bron, Bron's Maria, there we go. He's going to have to go through Bronson read before he gets to, uh, to Breaker, which is great, you know, just you keep them apart. And again, then Femi should lose Breaker. I'm saying, Breaker, Femi should lose Breaker. Tom Staupp in the P. W. T. V. I. P. form says, uh, I love Javon telling Breaker what the five fingers said to the face. Javon's whole deal is not aimed at me, but I love how contemporary he is and how naturally that seems to be his real personality. He reminds me of real people. My daughter goes to high school with an imagine. I imagine that's widely a good, relatable thing for that teen demo. So we, we talked about the booking making sense, but what about Javon's character? And Dorella, I'll go to you first because I'm, you're here. You're bright at the topic. Um, what do you think of, of Javon's character? And then obvious can follow up right after Dorella's done.

1:58:25I think Javon got a character that's very intriguing to the younger demographic. He's already young himself. He's 22. You got a lot of time with him. And he has a charisma that he gives off that separates him, different than everybody else that you, if somebody else was doing that, you're kind of think like they're being used as a comedy, a something like that. But they give him a little seriousness and he cares himself in a believable way. I think him and how Penta is being shown right now is kind of similar, just to fun on the beginning level and Penta already increasing it. That they have a certain time, but charisma that catches people. That how Javon acts and people just feel good when they see him, when they see him, they feel good and they want to see good things happen to him. And they light when he fire up, they light when he fight back because in that whole match, yes, he, he almost offense, but the fans were behind him in that offense.

1:59:29They wouldn't see him win. They wouldn't see him do something on the brunt break us. So I like that energy and they need that energy because they need to get younger people. I like the energy that he gave us. I'm here. Yeah, no, everything I said, nothing I said is meant to be insulting or putting down Javon Evans. It's just that it's like I mentioned, you can put anybody else in the roster in this spot and they would be perfectly fine with it and great for Javon Evans. Breaker was the issue because Breaker is a level above him and I think we'll be a level of home. So that's the thing. And you're right. I mean, there is no way I could pull a good sibling that doesn't sound insulting to him. But he's not your main event acted in circus. He's the one that warms up the crowd kind of like kind of like in the new day, one new day is good. Or Matt Riddle back at that kind of like more excitable energy, weirdness and get people

2:00:33hyped for what's going on. That's kind of what, you know, it's because that's the thing. He doesn't need to be champion to get people to buy in on him in that respect. Did he, how do you feel about this, the decision to do what they did in that match with Braun? How did you think he looked credibility wise against him the way that he went about? Not just selling because we know it can sell for him, but come back and getting his offense in and the timing of hitting big spots and choosing the right moves that would look like they would thwart Braun Breaker's physical power strength dominance over him. I'm not going to say it was like Braun Breaker versus Rey Mysterio. You know, kind of deal where you have like someone like obviously, you know, more massive. I think that that was part of my issue. I think that the that Breaker sold too much for Devon Evans. But did Devon play his part well, even if you think Breaker sold too much?

2:01:34I guess that's you might say, well, there's no way for Devon to be as credible. Devon shouldn't look credible against Breaker, but did he in the isolation in this match? Like if everything broke his, that's the thing. Yeah, I don't think so. If the question is dead by it, I don't think about it. Because I think you do it where if everything broke the right way and like a miracle happen, like race had matches like that where he's dominated a big guy for the entire match, because everything broke his way. You know, then usually we just get caught like at the end of 15 minutes and gets just matched with one shot. I think that once the times that that Breaker went on offense, that should have been it. Or it should have been like much more devastating on Evans than not. That's why even in terms of me losing myself in the match, in buying that the offense was real. And not only the opposite, he was giving but taking specifically. That's kind of where I felt like a discord there.

2:02:38Since this I think came up on the on the fixed the other day, somebody asked about men, women, wrestling. When Tessa Blanchard was champion in TNA, she was mainly feuding with Sanny Callahan. And okay, you know, and she would again, she would be dominated at times by Callahan, but then she would string a bunch of moves together. And I bought it because you know, Callahan's not a big guy. But then they had a wrestle, Brian Cage. And I'm like, there's nothing she could do to Brian Cage. You know, nothing's gonna be credible here. Again, I'm not saying that it's on that level between Javan and Breaker, particularly when you need to build Breaker up. You know, again, if it were someone completely different, like that's not going to be your possible future. Like put in Scott Steiner there, I would be fine with, you know, with the half. It's just the question of this guy. And again, he had too much offense on a guy that's built,

2:10:59Well, I was out in the main event. It was okay. You know, that's why I paused thinking that. Okay, I just have a comment on something we bear said. I'll save it. Yeah, that makes more sense. So anyway, forget that comment. I was just imagining the different things that Javon was doing to kind of counter-bron and outmaneuver him. And I can't think of one instance where it was like a mistake that breaker made as much as just ingenuity and quickness and strategy from Javon. I mean, this was designed. If you were watching WWE for the first time this week, raw and five years are forever, you would just assume Javon is like a top tier world title contender made event guy. I mean, because it bronclerly is, you would have no idea that he's eakin by and lose into mid-quarters in recent weeks otherwise. And it was an impromptu match too. It wasn't a, this is coming up after you got beaten up for a couple weeks, so then Javon went in with the perfect game plan because he studied the tape and he knew

Your bun is used to be a fast pace, giving you different angles, giving you something different. And that's something that we haven't seen. Bryan break off on face yet. And that's something

Just if it felt, the stuff she was saying felt more natural, felt like it was coming out. It really,

2:18:15it's really the the wheelhouse of being like a starkey, you know, the starkey like, you know, but aiming it at the heels supposed to the baby faces, you know, since people want to, you know, cheer her. I've almost would rather see Vickair vacated from the from the story and just get more Becky one on one with somebody. So instead of having it, you know, being a the three way thing. It fixed an issue I had on the last couple weeks with Vickair where Vickair seemed to be ducking Becky, you know, when she's supposed to be the final champion, I think that fixed it. Say, fix this thing out. I'll give you both title facts. That's all she has. She has just had that about two weeks ago. You know, because that was that that's been a point of contention even before she won the title in and Jilly. So yeah, I mean, I and as far as Vickair, yeah, she hurt her anger's definitely has definitely improved enough now to be able to, you know, do do cut a promo.

2:19:17Again, it's going to be rough doing a, you know, back and forth conversation, you know, get, you know, trying to get points across. But it's, you know, it's, it would be moved up and read and maybe move a little bit away from that and just give us some charismatic people to see what they can do with it. I think we'll be a what when I watch for care, I'm rooting for her, but I'm thinking about is she going to mix up a word or screw up or, you know, like you're just, you're like the, you know, the old cliche about the parent that the spelling beach is going, oh, you saw this spell that word, you know, like it takes you out of it a little bit because is she's like, I don't find the word. I mean, there's, there's a level, there's not a comfort level, but there is a familiarity with what she's saying. It doesn't seem like they're memorized words, and she doesn't know what they mean. And that you can tell they're trying to figure out, you know, what they're trying to figure out how far do we go with her talking? And it seems like Becky's sort of a crutch for that. I think if Vickair was just fluent in English and her English matched

2:20:19her, her charisma or look and her ring skills, I think they would maybe not have Becky in the situation, but she's there to kind of add someone to insult live and speak on behalf of, of, of a care a little bit. It's like Bob Newhart back in the day when he had the, you know, the, he'd do comedy bits and he was him talking to the phone, but he'd say what the other person of the phone was saying so that what he said in response made sense. We go, oh, so what you're saying is, oh, so it's interesting. You're asking me this and he would say it and Becky's kind of holding, holding, carrying some of the weight that Vickair would if she were more fluent. So, but I mean, Becky's entertaining. She always entertains me, but I don't know if it's great to have live with two baby faces coming at her. What do you think of lives roll in this? Yeah, I mean, um, now he's fine. I mean, I'm impressed that she's a, um, turned this character into something that's, that's, that's lasted this long and, you know,

2:26:31in the most recent Procinctorch newsletter part one or two from Greg Parks talking about the performance center and evaluating has it accomplished its goals has it done so on a budget has it done so with a diversity of talent it's putting out there. Um and so there's been some there's been a lot of analysis but Tom Stelke who's in that area and as close to the performance center as any uh analyst and reporter out there has been really making a strong case in the VIP forum for the performance center being um a success and structurally sound and um noting you know they are running live shows in front of crowds it's not just studio audiences so really interesting discussion there um so check that out read Greg Parks's column in the newsletter hope everybody's doing that who's already a VIP member it's on the VIP website or on the PDF of the newsletter and there's just I say this because like there's a lot of fat there's a lot of you get it's easy to hit the app and go on social media but what do you get out of it? I mean really at the end of it are you getting a lot out of it? There's just super ephemeral surface level stuff that

2:27:31might just be people baiting people into arguments and they might not even be real people the form is real Greg Parks puts his heart and soul into that weekly column read it break away from social media like reward people who are actually putting in the effort to put their thoughts down in a coherent way both column form and in the VIP forum and I'm proud of um a lot of things in the VIP forum in terms of the tone it's taken and the depth that issues are discussed but if you crave that and you kind of feel guilty after being on social media just getting pulled in there's a place you can go guilt free and get a lot more out of it so back to Tom's stuff is coming in LA night hoverier LA night did not change my mind with that promo and it's pregnant pauses so we could try to remember what else he was supposed to say so there you have it long journey to get to that line from Tom but just throw it in there I think at LA night I think is pretty tough line right now I think he can miss moves he can forget his lines he can juxtapose things he shouldn't um but are you expect do you juxtapose things you're supposed to not amount it's that's a long day um can

2:28:36you intentionally juxtapose something I guess you can yeah anyway um I'm trying to think of it's inherently a screw up and baked into the term so um yeah I think he is speaking truth to power he does so with confidence even when he's screw it up he doesn't you know sell it a lot he isn't like just collapse you know and in a heap um he put he perseveres and pushes through so I think it's working I'm really intrigued with the match with Roman Havier and I think tonight did a good job you know joking aside about LA night obligatory screw ups um in the ring and on the mic I I think this is going to be really fascinating match yeah and I don't mind on the map on the mic is it seemed like he's speaking for real and sometimes we do the place yeah that's that's same with miss moose and matches sometimes like they all they screwed up I'm not gonna star off why does everything have to be surked to sole perfect like it's okay for someone to slip so I'm not making a blanket defense valina what I mean is in general in matches people just go oh

2:29:39she slipped or oh he he felt he lost his grip and it's like that's gonna happen that's that makes it look more real enough polish so no one overdo it but it's only bad it's only really bad when you go right back to it you know right but there's that yeah you're just underlining yeah we just know totally um but yeah I I liked it I mean um I'm gonna say what I didn't like is not exactly true but it goes to show that it was somebody's baby that the idea was that Roman Rans was going to be more of a baby face uh that he was going to still be you know pricklish you know kind of like dominion guy but now he was gonna he was gonna win uh he was gonna win for uh uh fairly and this is supposed to be his baby face run so he could fight some heroes he needed to fight before the eventual passing of torture maybe Oklahoma family uh because really night sold the idea hey there's a new new Roman Rans uh he's it's about fair play he wants to rewrite his legacy and I'm like

2:30:44are you trying to baby face the dude here not the guy um because that's the point they wanted us to get some there's a writer out there the one is to know that Roman Rans is now doing fair play that he's not relying on the bloodline yeah even though we have decided that he's gonna be a heel going forward we don't want to give up that storyline we don't want to give up that idea so but yeah so I mean like I said it's not that I'm necessarily angry at it or I'll set or anything but it's and it doesn't really it didn't really count it you know it wasn't like a baby face Roman by saying it but it did a little bit you know he's he's winning fairly and he's you know and this is legacy and I'm gonna you know you know you know I also liked the fact that he was again he speaks real he's like I might not be able to beat this love this very inner Roman you know I might have been able to be you know Roman you know and be you know and see this sort of because he's there's a big level between the two of them but like no I'm gonna you know I'm still gonna win so I dug this this problem because the fact that he's gonna yes the basic character the the road to money in the bag
