Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost is an American prelate of the Catholic Church. He served as the 109th Pope of the Catholic Church from 1994 to 2005. Prevost was born in 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, and was ordained as a priest in 1964. He served as a bishop in the Archdiocese of Chicago before being appointed as the Archbishop of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Prevost was elected Pope in 1994 and served until his resignation in 2005. During his papacy, Prevost was known for his efforts to promote interfaith dialogue and his commitment to social justice.
