Charles Haddon Spurgeon was a British Baptist preacher and pastor who is widely regarded as one of the most influential preachers in the history of Christianity. Born on June 26, 1834, in London, England, Spurgeon was the son of a cobbler and was raised in a poor family. He began preaching at the age of 16 and quickly gained a reputation for his powerful sermons and passionate evangelism. Spurgeon was the pastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London for over 50 years and wrote extensively on theology and preaching. He was known for his strong convictions on biblical authority and his commitment to social justice. Spurgeon died on January 31, 1892, at the age of 57.
