Dave Tough

Dave Tough was an American drummer and bandleader, best known for his work in the swing and big band genres. Born on July 17, 1910, in Chicago, Illinois, Tough began playing drums at age 12 and went on to join the Duke Ellington Orchestra. He later formed his own band and had several hit songs, including 'On the Air'. Tough was also known for his virtuosic drumming and his smooth, melodic playing style.
