Imam of the Twelver Shia
Imam Hassan al-Askari was the eleventh Imam of the Twelver Shia Muslims. He was born in 846 CE and succeeded his father, Imam Musa al-Kadhim, as the Imam of the Shia community. He played a significant role in the development of Shia theology and jurisprudence. He was martyred in 874 CE. He is considered one of the most important figures in Shia history and is revered by Shia Muslims around the world.
