Jacobo Velez

Jacobo Velez, known as El Callegúso, is a Colombian saxophonist, composer, and music director. He is the founder and leader of the salsa ensemble La Mambanegra. Velez has a strong background in traditional Afro-Colombian music and has been instrumental in popularizing the genre. He has collaborated with several notable artists and has released several albums. Velez is known for his unique blend of traditional and modern styles. In his free time, Velez enjoys playing with his band and exploring new musical ideas. He is based in Cali, Colombia.
