Inventor and draftsman
Lewis Latimer was an American inventor and draftsman who worked with Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell. He is best known for his work on the development of the electric lamp, and his designs for the Globe-Supporter, a device that helped to keep electric light alive in the real world. Latimer was a prolific inventor and held over 25 patents in his name. He was also a skilled draftsman and artist, and his work has been exhibited in museums and galleries. Latimer was born in 1848 and died in 1928.
