Luis Alberto Garavito

Luis Alberto Garavito is a Colombian social scientist and researcher. He is a professor at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. Garavito has written extensively on topics related to social movements, rural development, and the politics of development. He is known for his work on the Escuelas Campesinas de investigación-acción, a network of schools of peasant research-action that bring together academics, communities, and rural movements. Garavito has received several awards for his contributions to social science research and has been recognized for his work on social justice and human rights.
