Author and psychotherapist
Marieke Bigg is a British author and psychotherapist who has written extensively on women's health, mental health, and the history of science. She holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Cambridge, where her research focused on the debates on human embryo research in Britain. Marieke is currently training as a psychotherapist and works as a peer support coordinator and client liaison at the mental health charity Mind. Her most recent book is No Such Thing As Normal: Disorders, Diagnoses and the Limits of Psychiatry. Marieke is a strong advocate for challenging the current psychiatric system and promoting a more nuanced understanding of mental health issues. She is also a popular speaker and has given talks on mental health topics at various events.
