President M. Russell Ballard is a senior leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was ordained an apostle in 1985 and has served as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles since 1985. Prior to his apostleship, he served as a member of the Seventy and as a bishop. President Ballard has also served as a member of the Church's First Quorum of the Seventy and as a member of the Church's Council of the Twelve Apostles. He has been a member of the Church's General Relief Society and Young Women's organizations. President Ballard is a graduate of Brigham Young University and has a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School. He is known for his leadership and service in the Church, as well as his commitment to humanitarian work and disaster relief.
