Roman consul and military leader
Quintus Fabius Maximus was a Roman consul and military leader who played a key role in the Second Punic War. He is best known for his defensive strategy against Hannibal, which involved delaying and harassing the enemy rather than engaging in direct combat. Fabius was born into a noble family and was educated in the traditional Roman arts of war. He served as consul in 217 BCE and again in 215 BCE. Fabius is remembered as one of the greatest military leaders in Roman history.
