Jesuit priest and spiritual director
Saint Claude de la Colombière was a French Jesuit priest and spiritual director who lived in the 17th century. He is best known for his role in guiding Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque and his devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Born in Paris, France, de la Colombière was a member of the Jesuit Order and spent much of his life in prayer and contemplation. He is now venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church.
