Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui is a Bolivian indigenous rights activist and academic. She is a prominent figure in the Bolivian social movement and has written extensively on issues of indigenous rights, feminism, and decolonization. Born in 1959 in the Bolivian highlands, Rivera Cusicanqui has been a vocal advocate for the rights of indigenous peoples and has worked to promote social justice and equality in Bolivia. She has also been involved in various academic and research projects, including the development of the concept of "indigenous feminism". Rivera Cusicanqui has received numerous awards and honors for her work, including the Right Livelihood Award and the National Prize for Social and Cultural Development. She is currently a professor at the Universidad de San Andrés in La Paz, Bolivia.
