Welcome to their Money Talks podcast and Mirror Host or Money Talks. In this podcast, I'm helping you level up your five soft skills. Public speaking, the storytelling and social dynamics, emotional intelligence, and creativity. Five soft skills for you to change your life forever, skyrocket your confidence along the way. In today's episode, I am going to be talking about calling people brother or my friend. And if you're a girl, you could even swap it for sister. I call a lot of people brother or my friend. Recently, I went to this steakhouse and there was this one guy that was taking my order and I was like, you're my friend. I think you forgot the ranch. And when I said my friend, he did not mind and said he was like, Oh, man, let me get that for you, my friend. A lot of times people will call you their friend back. This was something that I learned from my dad. I guess I subconsciously picked it up because when I was a little kid, my dad would call multiple people his friend. And whenever he would say that other people were more receptive
to his ideas, the remix to that is brother. When you call someone brother and it's a tense situation, both of you guys humanize one another. There was this one time, there was this contractor that was doing some work. He was not doing it correctly. So instead of saying, Hey, you're not doing it correctly. I said, brother, I don't think this is what we agreed on. And when I said brother like that, I softened my message and he was able to understand the message without personalizing it. That is one thing that I have learned throughout my life. A lot of these informal hacks work the best in speaking to other people. Brother, my friend, say these and you will turn tense moments into simple moments and both of you guys leave feeling good. These are charisma hacks. Thank you very much for joining me and I'll get you next time.
