For many people, renting is a convenient option. It offers flexibility and may require less responsibility for maintenance, but only the home can offer a different set of long-term benefits. Instead of paying rents with landlord each month, homeowners are investing in a property that can potentially increase in value over time. That means your home may become an asset as you continue to live in it. Home ownership can also provide more control over your living space from decorating to renovations that really fit your lifestyle. And here's something that many people don't realize. There are education programs and financial assistance options available for first time home buyers. Some of these programs even offer grant funding that may help cover part of the upfront cost and grants typically don't have to be repaid. That's why learning about home ownership options can be an important step toward making the best decision for you and your family. To learn more, visit toolsforhomeownership.com
It is the deal you can show you in 2026 edition. Take a listen at this audio. My parents were married and then they had me. I guess their marriage was difficult so they later got divorced. I don't know why, I don't know the details. All I know is that they separated, so I used to be with my mother one week and then I'll go be with my father the next week. Okay? So back and forth. One week my dad never showed up to come and pick me up. I sat by the door, literally waiting and waiting he never showed up. The following week I did the same thing I did this for months. Okay? He never came. So I felt so rejected. Okay? I still quite literally turned into that little girl when I talk about it. It has changed the trajectory of my life. Okay? So I didn't find out until I literally recently as an adult that my father did not abandon me.
My mother cut him off because she was afraid that he was going to take me from her. Now we have discussions like this all the time. And obviously we comment this from two different perspectives based on our own individual experiences. So you think what about this? Like I said, I know from a legal perspective there's really not a lot that can be done. Unless it's a court ordered situation. If it's court ordered custody or a visitation plan is in place and you violate that, there are consequences. Outside of that legally, nothing you can do. I do think it's unfortunate because I know for sure there are cases where your upset or the father is upset and you use the child as a pawn. I don't know what you could do to deter that. I mean, mature relationships. I mean, I have no idea. But again, I do think when the child gets older and they realize that you have lied to
them, I think there will be a lot of damage done to that relationship. And I think that might end up being punishment enough. I just, I don't know. It's a difficult thing. I have a very, I don't see it. I can call it nuance. And you guys might think it's simplistic. But I don't, I think laws exist because people saw there was a need for something to change in a dynamic, right? That's why laws exist. It wasn't always against the law, not to pay child support. It wasn't always against the law. Some of the laws we have in place, all of them came as a remedy, right? Correct. Right. I think that there is an inherent way that society looks at somebody who's not financially responsible for a child. There's an inherent way they look at that. And what they did was they had a legal remedy for that, right? Yep. I don't think that there's a requisite, you know, a view of that in terms of the emotional
damage that parents do, that we have laws against abuse. So I think that because we know that things like this happen, we write laws to remedy societal eels to some degree. Right. And so, but I think on the back of that, you guys are going to all profess their ex, carry it on. What do you think the remedies for that should be, you and this, what do you think should be? Well, these are always touchy subjects. I mean, because they're variables involved that, you know, we're not exactly sure of, you know, because depending on how the severity of the breakup was or the trauma involved, you know, like say, for instance, if it was a rape or something, you know, you just don't know you would, you would not share that with a child or make up an appropriate story. But if it's just pure malice, then there should be some kind of, um, it can't just be nothing. Yeah. If it were, whenever something like this is perpetrated, and I'm, this is, regardless
of what the, what if you say man perpetrating, I think society tends to think that that needs a legal remedy. Yeah. When if a woman is, is primarily perpetrating a thing, it has a different new eyes view. The law feels like, well, that's just something that I have to say. But I know for me, for years and years and years, my mother told me what a horrible man my father was. And when I met him, I had only her version of it. And when he died, she went, my mother called me and I'd be even better standards like my, like boo, and when she, I was, I was in New York, I'll never forget she's like your father died. And I was like, oh, I was crying. I mean, she was beside herself. And I was like my daddy. And she said, I gotta, I gotta get home with, she's like, oh no, no, you're biological father. And I'm like, what? Why do you cry for him? But then I look like, you call me with this cry for this. And then she told me she had always had a relationship with him and he wasn't as bad as she thought. She put on. Wow.
Now that to me, I'm angered with her now because not only she treated my father crazy, the one who raised me, but she denied me an opportunity to know that man who had been looking for me the whole time. Hmm. And shaped your opinion of him. And shaped my opinion of the world. Yeah. Oh man. Like, like I always wanted to be a huge guy. And then when you got found out that the name I had, the people that I come from literally only area I live in now, they came from the south, they built, there's a place that I call Ballard Mountain. They call it head mountain chains to battle my those my four fathers. That is five minutes for where I live. So you took my birth right away from me. That's not to me. The unfortunate part, it's hurtful. It's horrible. It's a horrible thing to do not only to a child, but to a young man and certainly an older man, period, whenever you find out the lie. Unfortunately, lying is not a crime. We just, just by the, the world that we live in. No, it's not. And apparently it is not a crime.
The only way it is a crime is that if you commit perjury, if you lot of federal officials, if you file a false police report or fraud to obtain money, property benefits or anything like that or any kind of ID lying. In terms of lying about whether or not this person is this or that in terms of their character, that is not a lie. It's a horrible thing. Now, it should be. It should be. It should. And a lot of things weren't laws until somebody made them that way. The laws like that have champions. Right. There are people who champion a law that happened. They go to the Congress, they tell stories. They, they supplicate Billmakers. So just because it isn't a law doesn't mean it shouldn't be. Yeah. Absolutely, but I think you, you, you hit the hand, the nail on the head. Because that isn't it. Someone has a lot of you for that, right? No one has done it. There, because there's no extensive stories. I'm not going to be the one. I'm not going to be one of those. I'm not going to be one of those. I'm not going to be one of those. Oh, see? Oh, okay. Okay. Okay.
Okay. You want somebody else to do the heavy one? No, no, no, I'm just saying. I'm just saying, I think that it is, it is unreasonable to say that this doesn't have something that I think that should be illegal remedy for. You know, there could be a civil situation, but you can't, no, I, I totally, you can be wrecked. You wrecking people's lives and, and there's no record puts. I think that that's until. Many people believe buying a home requires a large down payment and years of saving, but that's not always the case. Across the country, there are programs designed to help first time home buyers take the next step toward home ownership. Some of these programs offer down payment assistance or grant funding that may help cover part of the upfront cost of purchasing a home. Grants are especially helpful because they generally do not have to be repaid. There are also organizations that provide home buyer education, financial counseling, and guidance to help individuals understand the home buying process before they begin. The goal is simple. To help more families become informed and prepared for home ownership, if owning a home is something

What do you think the remedy for that should be going right to the phones? The consequences to somebody demonstrating that type of behavior of denying a child a healthy life experience with their own parent, particularly a black girl with their father should be severe. However, no matter what the punishment is, there's not going to be a replacement for those opportunity in time, pictures, videos, conversations, cards, and other life experiences connected to the healthy development of that child with their parent, particularly a father. Those aren't going to be replaced. No matter what the consequences are, opportunity in time is gone. It's your fault if you were to want to evolve with helping to contribute to that type of
behavior, whether you be just a parent or a parent's henchman. First, you know, I feel very sad for the young lady that this happened to. I can't imagine not knowing my father. I couldn't imagine it. I knew both my parents. They raised me and all my siblings. I just couldn't imagine being in that situation, but I did want to say that. I learned a very long time ago not to get involved in that revenge game because it feels like that's what happened with her parents. They are playing some kind of revenge game or whether they meant to do it or not, it affected her in a very negative way. I feel like what should happen is what is already happening, which is that now the other living parent is going to have to deal with how this child feels about what they did or what both of them did. Now both of them can't confront it. Now it's just one parent that has to confront what has happened. I hope that this young lady does confront the other parent.
I hope that she finds, you know, peace and all that, but I learned a long time ago. You don't play this revenge game. I'm a Christian, so I believe Vengeance is the Lord. So I just got in my car and I heard the conversation and I can resonate with that because I have two daughters who are one is in her, latter 30s and the other ones in their younger 30s and both of their mothers would help them for me for 30 plus years. And one came to me about five years ago and said, my mom finally admitted that she lied about you and she kept me away from you and the other one did the same thing. That's, you know, most of them haven't been going through in that situation and I understand I heard the girls, the young lady's pain who was speaking out on it. So I understand and yeah, so it's a bit too long and right now I'm trying to bridge the gap with my daughters and develop a relationship after 30 years.
My husband is actually going through something similar to that when we got together. He explained everything to me in the house. His child's mother has a one child to port and how the eras and everything and how he was in. He was in his child's life for the first little bit of her life and then the mother just up and left and pretty much told the courts that she was scared for her life and made every thing private and he didn't know he's right up until, honestly, when we got together and we started doing research and we found out what he actually was right where and they got them on a false allegation or they not false allegation. He wanted to take her to court for false allegation for child alienation. His child is actually 16 years old and he hasn't got the see her since she was a father.
We did a research and we found out what we can do, what we can't do. Court and it's just a whole lot of mess that's going on. When you all were talking about it on the ready, I was like dang, like that's exactly what my husband was going through right now. So here is the scenario. My parents were married and then they had me. I guess their marriage was difficult so they later got divorced. I don't know why, I don't know the details. All I know is that they did separated so I used to be with my mother one week and then I'll go be with my father the next week. So back and forth, one week my dad never showed up to come and pick me up. I sat by the door, literally waiting and waiting he never showed up. The following week I did the same thing I did this for months. He never came so I felt so rejected. I still quite literally turn into that little girl when I talk about it. It has changed the trajectory of my life.
So I didn't find out until I literally recently as an adult that my father did not abandon me. My mother cut him off because she was afraid that he was going to take me from her. So I literally had to grow up without a father thinking that my father didn't love me. So I would go on dating these men who were amazing to me. I've had wonderful relationships and I would literally feel like the love was never enough because my father didn't love me. How could another man love me? What do you think the remedy for that should be? We're going right to the phones. My son is going through the same situation. He pays child support every week. He's caught up on his rears. But he can't seem to talk to the kids and has been some months now. I think the last time the kids been over to my house in Atlanta was last last year in the summertime. That was the last time and we saw them.
The last time and the mom, I don't know some sort of vendetta, all because she want my son to be with her and the kids. But I have a funny feeling that she's feeding the kids a lot of negativity about their dad. And when the only thing my son, he won't reach out or anything. I mean, he hasn't reached out. But it's like, I guess I had to wait until the kids get older in order for them to accept me. I said, but whether they don't accept you because of what she's feeding them. Well, basically, I'm one who's going through it myself. Dylan, we're a woman that is, you know, basically keeping me from my child. I've been going through this for about three years, four years now. And still, there's no consequence in the courtroom at all. He's violated plenty of times. And I've never gotten any remedy over it. And I tell her all the time that you're going to make his child present you when he gets older because he's going to find out that I've never abandoned him. I say fighting.
I say fighting all the time. And I'm not going to stop. But there needs to be some kind of consequence to this. I think the child should be able to see their parents. Yeah, even if the man is a dead-be-father, it should be up to the child to still see their parents. And let them figure out what they want to do with their parents. I even let my child make the choice when they were younger. I say, you know what? He's going to find out I'm not going to tell him anything. I'll take care of him. And he sees who takes care of him. Now, this time for our feature. Welcome to the stage. We spot lots of the funniest comedians. Oh, D-D-D-D-Wait, wait a minute. Let me introduce this next comedian because this joke might make you feel some type of way. Welcome to the stage. Trade touch. I found that that I don't like tall people. That's just what it is. Six-H, you'll know what it is like to have to put your car in part to put a gate code in. You have no idea how to put a gate code in. I'm going to get my phone through the drive-through. Put my foot on the brake and then come on. Treats with me. This is insane right now. It's crazy. No, I'm not going to open this door. If you want to reach with me, you're going to tap a bell for paper to demo right now. You're going to pay for it. Because it's burning through here. It's supposed to burn through here. Tap a bell.
