Listener, most of us are trying to eat better and sleep more without knowing whether it's doing anything. The true age test from true diagnostic is built to answer that. It reads epigenetic markers, tiny chemical tags on your DNA that shift with sleep, stress, diet, and exercise to estimate how your body is aging. Its methods were developed with researchers at Harvard, Yale, and Duke, and published in peer-reviewed journals. I like how specific it gets. You see your biological age, how faster aging, and how your heart, brain, and liver may be aging. With personalized recommendations on what to change, it's an at-home finger prick with a prepaid return kit and your report is online in about three to four weeks. So if you're serious about longevity or even just curious whether your body is aging faster or slower, then your actual age, this is one of the easiest ways to find out. Right now, go to truediagnostic.com and use code obscure a 20% off your entire order.

That's truediagnostic.com code obscure a 20% off. Book a love by guest property with Virbo and you get a top-rated vacation rental that's love for all the right reasons. I love my Virbo for the location. Good reason. Oh, and for the pool, because pools are cool. I feel the love. Book a Virbo that's love by guest. You know, you Virbo. irony poisoning starts with a wink. A person learns to say everything with one. Before long, the wink is the only way left to say anything. Every sincere statement goes out in quotation marks, ready to be disowned. Eventually, the person doing it loses track of what statements were meant. The children born in America around 1990 were the first generation to grow up entirely inside the wink. Their television made fun of television and their culture had learned to watch itself from one step back.

We talked to your folks. We asked over some things about where you were and all the details and stuff. As you well, as you recall, you're wonderful, ask three people to see Cassie. It's so important and critical that we just answer some questions and we give by some of those things. We're kind of perfected out with your folks. They're good for you sitting in here. I want to remind you that, of course, you're not under arrest. You're free to lead.

If you don't answer any questions that you don't want to, at any time, you can walk out that door and go hook up with your parents. You're not making a stay here for any reason. We're going to start about, I know we talked the other night about, first of all, why we're here. We're investigating on the site that Cassie Stoddard was murdered. Because of the fact that you were one of the last three people there and you had knowledge of stuff like that, it's common course that we want to go. In the interview, people will find out what you're doing. We'll go ahead and start first, as I recall in the statement before you've known Cassie for a while. I'm going to take a break. Okay. You know, for a little while. Yes. So what is your relationship with Cassie? For a friend. Is it any of your data or anything like that or just any kind of friends? How often do you see her maybe during a week? Every day at school, but this would be my third time hanging out with her outside of school. Let's talk about Friday and I think the day was the 22nd and that was the night that

you guys went up there to visit. Can you tell me a little bit about maybe at school or something, how you learned or how you come to go up to Cassie's place or out to that place she was houses she told me on Thursday. Okay. So we, she was having barely sitting in her house. Exactly. How's she? In December 1996, Wes Craven released Scream. It is a slasher picture in which every character has seen slasher pictures. They know the rules and they recite them out loud and it's opening scene. A girl home alone answers the telephone. The voice on the line quizzes her about horror films before it kills her. Some start to finish the film winked at its audience over the heads of its characters. Everybody watching is in on the joke. It earned more than $170 million. Its killers turn out to be two teenage boys and masks. A boyfriend and his best friend. They explain themselves in the language of the films they grew up on.

One of them tells the girl he means to kill that movies don't create psychos. Movies make psychos more creative. Okay. Between 6.30 and 7. You left your house. Yeah. And I went and picked up her. Probably, yeah, between 6.30 and 7. Okay. And you were driving your way. That way. Yeah. Okay. Let your car you get back and forth. Do you grow that to Brian's house? I do. I do. About around what time? You think it was? All right. I don't know maybe 7. Between 7. 7. And so at school, I told almost people that I was going to have the party there and stuff and they just going home a weekend. Okay. Let's talk a little bit about that. Why do you do like a whole bunch of people? What does that mean? Does that mean 10? Does that mean 20? I told you 5. I grew up with 10. I played with like 8 or 9. Okay. Of course. And you were talking to them and stuff and they'd said that they would see the data

and their different stuff. So I called Torade around 7.45 or something like that and then he came to me around 8 o'clock at the Dimmysock cat. Matt. Oh, well in the front porch. He says he's like, oh look up on the balconies. Yeah. Up on the second level. He's balcony. He's about to come out of your house. He's about to be. So we were inside house like home with crab and it's a huge house and stuff. And so we went. How did you get into the house? You go up the balcony. They think it's like that. You ended up entering the house at the same place where Matt will stand. Yeah. But did you notice there was a lower door too in the garage door? I did. I did. Okay. We didn't go that door. You went in the second level. Yes. Okay. Then what? Well, we went into the house on the side. So you went there and you wanted to go first room.

Did you go into a living room, a hallway? There's a living room on the left side. I remember there's a staircase. So what's the first thing you did when you arrived? Did you just go into the living room or did you go throughout the whole house? I walked around. Yeah. Was you escorting by anywhere? I was. That's nice. Okay. So Matt, like you walk around and stuff. I kind of show in here. So you basically look in every room in the house. That's the bathroom. There's a lot of rooms there. Yeah. Okay. There's tons of them. Right? So, so you arrive there with what happens when you get there? She. Cassie and Matt gave us a tour of the entire house. Spack up just a little bit so you've broken the door out. Did they greet you? Yeah. I was sort of. So Matt was outside on the deck and he weighed just and then he went inside the house and we just walked up the stairs and walked. Scream was a joke about a killer who had not appeared yet. He knows exactly what story he is in. He keeps a layer of irony over every sentence so nothing can be pinned on him.

Not even by himself. Ten years later, two sixteen year olds in southeastern Idaho decided to make a scream of their own. They had been six when the film came out. So you walked up the stairs and saw basement door going in maybe in a garage door. They say this is the garage door right here. Yeah. So you went by the door but you went out of the stairs. So they greeted you there. You went inside? Yeah. I went out and saw you went inside. We looked around the where the entry hall and then we got the tour of the entire house. They did. They showed us around. And then I saw you have a big video collection. It's in the comments of movies and stuff. Did you look through those movies? I did. Do you like movies? Yes. Which favorite movies? Ike or movies. Do you like horror movies? Yes. Which are favorite movies?

Favorite movies? What is January? What? What will life look category? There is a lot of time. What would you say is your favorite movie at all? All time, a favorite movie would have to be honest. I'd have to say howling. My favorite movie. Okay. It's a good movie. It is. It's a pretty good classic. Yeah, it is. Oka Tello is a railroad in university town. With more than 50,000 people, the Bannock Range stands up hard along its western side. Sage Brush and Bass Alt starts where the last paved street stop. The first frost in that valley comes on average around the 18th of September. By the weekend of the 22nd, the nights were cold enough to matter. In the northeast of the county, on Whispering Cliff's Drive, a house stood with a finished basement, a door led into that basement from outside, and a circuit breaker panel hung on the wall down there.

Do you have any picture movie on? I'm reading a watching movie. I wanted to watch domestic disturbance, but I've never thrown in watch. So he got a kill-a-lifetime, too, I believe. Okay. We watched that. Did you watch the whole movie? I guess all going the other way around the world. Yes. Yeah. And I was on the couch. I was on the far wall. Okay. And Matt and Cassie were kissing stuff. Okay. And Tora was right by the TV. They had a huge TV. They were in popsicles. What? No, we're going to be kissing. Where we're using to open the, where these ones you have to cut the top open, or the tear on with the teeth, or how? Yeah, to cut the top open. Okay. How are they open in the popsicles? I remember there is a knife in the door that had a child. He hang on it. Okay. And Matt was like, oh yeah. I should have opened it and stuff, and he opened it for me. And then he did it.

Okay. So did you touch that knife at all? I think I held it first, yes. Okay. Did you have use in the knife? Yeah. Okay. All right. And then there was a land on the camera. When you left, there was a put back in the drawer. Was it on the counter? Do you know what it was? I think it's back in the drawer, actually. Okay. But you saw that, Matt showed you, Matt apparently, helped you get that knife out. Oh, yeah. Okay. And then why did you handle it? I was trying to find a comparison. I was like, oh, no. Okay. I just touched that. But you didn't have a popsicle stick. You just helped them open there. Yeah. All right. I'm going to make kind of those kind of obstacles. So you got the stairs. And then you got the popsicles out of the freezer down the stairs. Yeah. That's where they were. All right. Do you see any other room downstairs? Did you have the corners? Yeah. Tell me about that room. That room is kind of cool. I have like a couch and a cotini and they kind of have like a fridge. I can microwave that, I believe. Okay. So you check out the room. I can microwave that. I can microwave that. Okay. So you check out that room. Do you notice anything about that room that was a light on in it?

You know, there was a drop. And you guys go bad, go get a door, turn that on. And I remember thinking it was kind of out of the way. It had a real. It was kind of like a hard question. It had a real. So, you know what? You know what? Well, you know, maybe like that, but you know, electrical panel is like the breaker box that you turn the breakers on in the house. Like the, like the steel thing. Yeah, it's like a steel panel door and then it's got breaker switches in it. It turns the power off to everything. I'm overseeing one of those on the wall. I have in my house, yeah. Okay. You've never seen one in the wall in that room? I didn't even think of that. Okay. You didn't think of anything, see it? I'm just dying to see it. Okay. But you might have, if the door would have been hanging open on it, you probably wouldn't notice it. Yeah. Okay. So, like, then like shut the door on it. It was open. So, your fingerprints wouldn't be on that panel for you reason. You don't remember when shutting the door or putting your hand on the wall. I don't think my prints would be on that. Because I was actually worried.

It was. Okay. But you didn't recognize electrical panel in there. I had not recognized it. It's something you certainly wouldn't be fooling around with normally. No. So, you, I mean, you'd probably remember touching something like that because they're dangerous. You know, like, you know, okay. Yes. Good enough, I didn't think. Tickets wouldn't really. Oh, okay. So, you're going to go get tickets. You know what I'm going to be. And so, you didn't park anywhere in the way between. So, there would be no reason for like a day to stop. So, you're not. We're at. It's fine. It's helpful in calling that. Okay. So, was this in the neighborhood just not far down? No. It was like maybe 20 feet away from the house. Okay. Then, I met on this to come back and get him. So, this is a track because I'm just, it's probably me. I'm not understanding. But, so, you leave the house and you're just like, you're 20 feet down the road. Yeah. Cassie Jo Stodder was born in Pocahtello on December 21st, 1989.

And she was 16 years old. She was a junior at Pocahtello High School. She was the middle of three with a sister, Christy, six years older. And a brother, Andrew, 18 months younger. She cared about music. People who knew her describe her as responsible and clever. Outgoing and funny. Her uncle, Frank, called her a good girl. He said she did not drink or use drugs. Braw home straight A's and baby sat his son. A friend named Justin Sans said she laughed at every single joke he made. Even the terrible ones. She made him feel special, he said. Her grandmother said Cassie wanted to go to college. She wanted a career. Andrew described her as the headstrong one out of all of them. He also called her a role model, a generous thing for a younger brother to say. We wanted to see, click. We were going to start at 9.45. And we were watching music like you know.

And we were actually a whole newbie. So I can go on playing with this because it was full. So that was at 10 o'clock. So we went inside there. I remember calling that inside. I'm really dear. So now it was about, was it still 9.45 or was it a little later when you called back? So it might choke that whole call. Maybe 10.26. 10.26, 10.27. Okay. The home soldier you're taking. I remember it was a guy. It was a very particular body. It was just a guy in the area. Did you know him? No. So we got, so we got, go. You buy from the guy. It's 9.45. Do you think it's 9.45 when you go inside the lobby there? So someone sees you there. They're going to see you 9.45? Probably. Okay. But where is the movie at? I can go to the movies on the right side. Okay. And then what? Where is it? The first theater. You guys turn and go in.

Is there any way you can help us out with a map of the theater to show us kind of where the movie was in there? So we know. And again, we're just trying to confirm, you know, that's it. So you know, you can do another page if you want. Just flip the page. Yeah. All right. Box here. Parking on the hair. Sorry, park that way. And you're absolutely unequivocally positive. That you two went into polls. You two bought tickets for polls. Yeah. Okay. Okay. And so Andy asked you about the guy that was taking the tickets just so we know, um, yes. Do you remember what Harry had? Do you remember anything about him at all? I didn't remember anybody else there working behind the counter. Is that talking to anybody? No, I'm just talking to my friend. Now, as soon as you bought tickets, you went in there 9.45. But we hadn't started because it starts at 10. So you had to hang around on the lobby for 15 minutes, right? Well, no, we went to the bathroom.

Okay. We went to theater. Okay. So you went to theater. Sure. Okay. So where are you set in the theater? If you could just try to understand about the, uh, you're going to buy the ticket. Still 9.45. Yeah. Correct. And then you buy the ticket, but you're inside. Yeah. So then you go to the bathroom? Yeah. And then you come back out. No, they're not letting you in the movie until 10 o'clock. And then I go to the movie, like, I mean, I mean, I'm a tennis v-forced. So they were sitting and everything. So it wasn't like waiting until 10 o'clock, right? Uh, so you got to end it? Wait a little bit because there's a movie in there before I think. Okay. That's what happened. So you just put in the lobby? No. No. We were saying the bathroom. And then we talked about some stuff. And then, uh, with theaters and stuff. Do you remember what the, uh, coming attractions were, the trailers, you know, on the movie, when you're sitting there watching it? I remember it. We're just sitting inside the movie on the next page. Just go flip the page.

Yeah. And then I was sitting. Just draw the movie house, a big square movie house. And then I was just kind of giving it a little location in the room. Okay. Stairs. We always sit in the... Hiddled. So we were... I mean, you always do. Did you do this time, you know? Yeah. There was a lot of people in there. Uh... It wasn't like, you know. A whole house or anything. Estimate. How many people do you think were in there? Half. Like, 10 people? No. Five people. More than that. Uh... I remember... It wasn't like full. Maybe half of the theater probably. No. Half of the pack. I don't know. It just maybe... If I were to say number, I'd say about... 30. Well, 30? Okay. Frank and Allison Contreras. We're going away for the weekend of September 22nd, 2006. They had a house on Whispering Cliff's Drive. And two dogs and some cats in it. Cassie took the job of staying there and looking after them.

And she was being paid for it. That Friday morning, her mother, Anna, dropped her off at school. Years later, Anna still remembered the green shirt and the white jacket her daughter had on that day. That afternoon, Anna drove Cassie and her boyfriend. Matt Beckham out to the house. She left them there at about half past five. The job is the entire reason Cassie was in that house. It was a weekend of work she had agreed to do for family, with a key of her own. Friday the 22nd was the last day of summer. At about half past six or seven that evening, at Matt and Cassie's invitation, two classmates came over. Brian Draper, Intoria Demchick, were 16 as well. Juniors at Poca Tello High. And she knew them. She let them into the house she was responsible for. Then she walked them through it room by room. The tour went to the basement. Somewhere in the course of it, one of them unlocked the door that opens into that basement from outside. I'm trying to ask you what interesting details about the movie.

Do you remember any like the coming attractions, trailer, stuff? I do know that from what I saw, it's kind of like a sort of like a sacred white hoist. But there was no original character or anything. So what was the movie about? You watched most of the movie? I don't know. I was a girl there. I sat. It was maybe two seats away from me. What side of you? Two girls. There's a girl, and she had a friend. So you were talking to them? Yeah. We got a whole day with no, they remembered that song. Did I recall you saying their names were for names of Heather? I remember her name was Heather. What about them? I didn't know I thought they were her names. Do you remember where they went to school? I thought I heard them sing Highland. That's just, that's the one.

I'm not that good at school. I was going to go to school now. Okay. What did she look like? Well, it's pretty attractive, of course. She wearing tight jeans. She had, I was brown hair and she was proud about to hear it. Okay. So that would say probably about five, three, five, four. She was pretty short. I would say five, five. She was matured because she'd have to hear it to me. She's probably five, six, five, seven. What colors are her? I was brown. Definitely brown or was it strawberry brown? It was like my sister's hair. It was like brown, like, strings, like, like, wanted and stuff. So you're pretty confident for me this up? Mm-hmm. Just not sure if she went to Highland or not. Yeah. I'm a positive gentleman to Highland. But she had a senior at Pokey. No. So she had to go to Highland or Central.

I gave her my talent on that with I don't know. Did you heard her say Highland? I mean, some of you gave you the title. I guess. Yeah. Yeah. Well, if you don't remember, that's Highland. I don't remember. But if she said Highland, then it kind of helps us a little bit. She did. Okay, good deal. All four of them put on Kill Bill Volume 2. Outside the sun went down at about half past seven. Draper and Adam Chick stayed about two hours and all. They left before the film finished, saying they wanted to catch another one in town. About 15 minutes after the two boys walked down. The power in the house went off. A big house goes properly dark when the power fails. By Beckham's later description, he and Cassie heard noises from below them. One of the dogs would not leave the head of the basement stairs. It stood there barking and growling down into the dark. And nothing either of them could see. After a while, some of the lights came back on. And the two of them assumed it was the power company.

Cassie did not like any of it. Beckham telephoned his mother and asked whether he could stay the night. He did not want Cassie on her own in that house. His mother said no. But she offered to take Cassie back to the Beckham house for the night. On the other end of the line, she could hear Cassie in the background. Saying no. Cassie had the animals to see too. And she had promised. What's the movie about? I mean, your movie buffs. These are things that you pay attention to, right? I mean, if you leave, you guys, parts of the movie are so many characters you can hook yourself with, describe somebody in the movie, describe what happened. Anything, what's the whole premise or the plot of the movie? What's it all about? Well, it was... It was a little ridiculous. Yeah, I don't know why it knows. You can have to get it. Like I said, you have to get it in details. Okay, it's about a guy. It's wife. I don't want to know why it knows as well. I know what this movie is about. Yes, I'm saying. Okay. And then I remember... I can't really explain it.

I'm paying attention to it. You know what we did yesterday? We want to watch the movie. Really? Listener, I picked my first bank at 16 and stayed with it for years out of pure habit. And I paid for that habit one fee at a time. I wish somebody had told my younger self about chime. Your story, you didn't really watch them. You know what I'm talking to girls. Okay, but there are two sheets away. You can do a lot of talking. You're picking up something.

You're picking up at least one image off the screen that you saw. Tell us about one person, describe one person you saw in the movie. What they look like. I'm saying a man in his head, a tea screen. And white noise on the head. Yeah, you understand. People got some problem, believe me. And it's really important that this is the time and interview where you really need to cowboy out. And you really need to decide how you want this thing to follow you.

At about half past nine, Anna telephoned her daughter. Cassie told her they were just watching movies. She said she would call in the morning. The car came from Matt Beckham later that night. He got into it and went home. And that was the last time anybody who loved Cassie Joe Stoddler saw her. We've done our homework. Okay, yeah, we've talked to a lot of people. We viewed tape. Okay, and I'm here to tell you, you didn't go to the movie. Okay, you were now at that movie theater. Okay, now that's neither here nor there. But the thing is, you're going to have to get by that. Yeah, because you didn't go to the movie. That's funny. Well, you're going to have to tell us where you went so that we can put you there. Because it's, it's, I don't want something to cave in on you. That, that, that's not working for you. Right. Okay, we're here to help you, bro. You know what happened. Okay, what? You didn't go to the movie. We didn't go to the movie. Okay, okay.

Okay, listen, do that. Just listen, clarify. We've been at you, okay? Okay, no, listen to me. Don't underestimate how much we know. Okay. Okay. I told you the first night that when I saw you, that I don't think you're the type of person that could kill somebody cold blood. And you guys might be close friend. Especially your close friend. Okay. Okay, I hope my second. Okay. Okay. I can tell you what we're doing. I'm trying to hide this, but I guess I can tell you. You can get a half to a minute. It's the only way out. We went through cars. And that's going to slow up until it. So I'm going to take that. So you went through cars. What does that mean? We checked for the cars that there were a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot. We were happy. Where was that? Where? A story of the drive. I don't know.

And then we call that because he wanted to come to. Okay, so you didn't go to the movie, but you went through cars. You didn't go to the movie, but you went to where you went through cars at. Because you went through cars. You didn't take anything out of cars. We didn't find anything. Okay, so can you take us to a car that you went through and we should find your fingerprints on that car? From home, he telephoned Tori Adam Chick. Adam Chick answered in a whisper and said he was at the theater. Beckham took him for a boy keeping his voice down in a dark cinema. At about half past midnight, he tried Cassie. She did not pick up. He spent the next day, Saturday, with Tori Adam Chick. Colin Cassie again and again. Nobody answered that telephone for two days. The Contreras family came home on Sunday, the 24th, September 2006, and found Cassie in the living room. They had been gone a weekend.

They had left a 16-year-old in charge of the house and the animals. Then they came back up from their own drive and opened their own door to that. A little over a day and a half had passed since she died. At the end of September, that valley still runs warm in the afternoons. In turn, it's cold after dark. For all that time, the house had been quiet and the telephone in it had run. Nobody had picked it up. Officer Hatch was the first at the scene. In the flat language, the job requires. He recorded large amounts of blood, deep lacerations and stab wounds. Police in paramedics confirmed what the family already knew before they reached a telephone. There was no forced entry. Nothing had been taken. The weapon was gone. Investigators said afterwards that she fought for her life. An autopsy was performed the following day. After the murder of Schumel, counted 39 wounds, he classified 12 of them as potentially fatal. Each of those 12 had reached something a person needs in order to go on living.

He gave the cause of death as stab wounds to the trunk. The wound he numbered first was in the middle upper chest. It went through into the right ventricle of her heart. When Schumel opened the sack around the heart, roughly two cups of blood came out of it. Under cross examination, Schumel declined to name the weapon. As directly, he said he could not even say it was a knife. Dr. Charles Garrison examined her on the 28th of September and testified that at least two knives had been used. One was a survival type blade with serrations along the back. The other had none at all. The serrated blade accounted for most of the 30 wounds. The wound through her heart came from the plane one. Two knives in one body is a finding about how many people were in the room. It is the reason the state never had to settle for one killer, one witness. It was also contested. The defense called its own pathologist, who distributed parts of what Garrison had concluded from the wound photographs.

Years later, Adam Chick saw a post-conviction relief partly on the ground that his own lawyers had never had the knives tested. Investigators went where the physical evidence pointed, which at first was sideways. A fingerprint on the door of the basement breaker panel, along to Victor Price. Her mother's partner and later her husband, he had done electrical work in that house months before, which the contraris family confirmed. His alibi stood up and the print meant nothing. Matt Beckham was the last person known to have been with her. Detectives found him flat and strange when they told him. A great many 16-year-olds received the worst news of their lives that way. He took a polygraph and passed it. His story about where he had gone and who had collected him was checked. And it stood and he was cleared. We went to... I had gloves. And then we went... I remember we drove by Tordes' house and... Hold on. Let's just really... Let's reseror ourselves, Matt.

I can't stress to you enough that we are your best friends right now. And please don't utter this. We know you're a bright kid. We know you've got a lot going for you. And we want to help you to get a lot going for you. And we want to help you. And right now is the perfect time that we can... Man, we can really help you out. Now we've got a lot of bargaining chips right now. It's just so requires. Like Andy said, we possess some knowledge. First hand knowledge. We know. And what we're really waiting for is you to come straight with us so that we can help get you out of this crap. So it's not going to ruin the rest of your life. Okay. We want to help you. Okay, we're really doing it. I just really want you to believe in us for a minute. And really... I understand. I understand. You need to tell us the truth. So this is the truth. Yes, this is the truth. You can... These things we should be able to go out and confirm in qualifiers is...

I was trying to hide this because I heard from a friend that... That's a 10 years of prison. What exactly... What were you doing? Tell me exactly what you were doing. We parked outside our house for hours. That's all I wanted to say. That's all I wanted to say. Do cats do some hideouts? Just take a minute. It's all be quiet for a minute. You can take a few deep breaths. Really go deep and do some soul searching. And get your way back. And then you can go ahead and tell us. Okay. Can you tell us when you're ready? Just take a few deep breaths. Like your dad said, you just need to calm down. If you're telling the truth, this is going to be easy. If you want it, it's going to be hard night. Yeah, they got you. Now, before you go any further, we have some aces in our pocket. Don't waste any more of our time.

Okay, don't underestimate what we know. Because it's going to come down to one or two things. Okay. We already have one strike against you. Okay. You've already lied to us, and we don't appreciate that. Okay. These are the types of situations that you don't lie in. Everything else in this world is game. And I'm a firm believer in that. I don't give a shit. If you lie in anything else to a cop, whatever when it comes to a murder of a beloved friend, you do not lie. Okay. The second part of that is, I want you to take a deep breath. And I want you to think about what part of this that you're involved in. If you're involved in that, and if you are, that's fine. We can deal with that. Fine. We can deal with that. Well, guys, take this. We're not being like, kill my friend. I know like, you're Cassie. Oh, I don't know. Kill Cassie. Doesn't seem weird that all of a sudden now,

you know, you left a place, and I was like, now you've already told us at first, now you know, I'm hoping that you're going to come clean, and you're going to tell us, you know what I mean? Exactly. You know, all right. We left her house. Okay. We parked over here by the grass. Okay. We called Matt. I don't know what that time was. It was probably 10, 15, probably 10, 10, 15, 15, or 12. I don't know. 9, 9, 40. I don't know, guess. He said he could back to us. You're back to about what? The cars. So, so, so, we should expect Matt, because he's not going to stop. He's not going to stop. Matt's taking a polygraph tomorrow. Okay. You can lie in the text you test. Of course. We're going to ask it. Okay. Now, you're saying that he has knowledge of that you're going to go through cars.

Yes. Detective spoke to Brian Draver and Tori Adam Chick on the Sunday evening, with an hours after the body had been found. Beckham had told them who else had been in that house. Both said they had gone downtown to see a film called Pulse. Neither could say what happened in it. A teenager who just watched a horror picture could tell anybody how it ended. These two could not get through a description of the plot. Interviews went on for four days. In the two sets of parents were in and out of them. Detectives first saw Adam Chick at his own home on the Sunday with his father. He was on sitting in. Draper's first conversation was not recorded. And he was not in custody. In that stretch, Draper presented himself as a friend of hers who wanted to help. He offered to take a polygraph. And then he came apart before the examiner could start. Tell me about the play that Tori's been writing for the movie. Well, there's a film festival and January.

So we wanted to make a movie. And there's a thing going there. Did you ask Cassie to make a movie with you? Yes. We really wanted to be the hang character and stuff. What's your movie about? We make a Sasha flick. What is it? Like a Sasha flick. I count on reading stuff like that. Okay. And what was the thing? Tell me about the movie. The idea was totally different. In my two years first. The story. But there were four kids. You only know. Yeah, there were four kids. Which is kind of just give us a general idea of the movie. Okay. We already got it. I mean, did you read it out yet? No. There's an idea. Just kind of. Yeah. Okay. There were four kids. And they had parents with them. They had a child in the mountains. And I see.

I named the guy John Carter. Okay. And he's the. Sure dad. And. And, you see, yeah, and. There's a moment that he killed you know. But then. Fakes skate. Who killed someone with that? That. John. Well, of course. Yeah. Okay, and then who's his job? Carthage guys he's just he's just a imaginary guy. He's a manager. He's a imaginary. Oh, no, but in the story, how is he like he's the he's a slasher guy? Slasher guy. Where does he come from? He's just in woods like Friday the 15th or I don't know. So what? So if the kids get killed too? The other way. The other way. They escaped. Then 20 years later they go back to the cabin and they stay there and of

course say they're they're the same again and that's no that has been a bit. That's by the way really. Okay, what about what about a Torrey's version? This is a little different ones. He's so much kind of his version. His version is it's similar to mine but It's just about the name and stuff. What's about the, you know, the Hagen Tax. And I think his version, I think like I have the case of Hilton in his version. How do you kill a horrible guy, of course. How does he kill? What was he killed? Well, I got killed. What's your knife, you know? What's your knife? What's your knife? What was he doing? Okay. How can I help you? All right. And then, does he wear a mask? No. Because he, what is he wear? I don't know about that. Well, he wears this maybe from like a, a jumpsuit or something.

Like Jason? Yeah. Well, I should say Jason word jumpsuit. What? Oh, well, Jason didn't wear jumpsuit. Who wore the jumpsuit? That was Michael Myers. Oh, it was Michael Myers. See, he doesn't wear a shit in Halloween, right? I do, yeah. Okay. So who's bad, who's more bad? Michael Myers or Jason? I like Jason more. Okay. What about Tori? Um, some more of a Halloween fan. I think they're not. For rather, they're a teen fan. So, does Tori have a knife poison? Oh, no. He has, he's a little poached knife. Probably knives. They're about. I'm gonna get that. Try that big, okay. And it's like pocket knife. That's a lighter sauce. Love castle. Like what was for, friends or loved. Like in Crusher on a moon, did you have a Crusher on a moon? I did. And I was about to ask her out. But, and that did. I always thought that they were bad, even a couple. Mm-hmm. Uh-huh. Yeah. You know, it's like, I don't know. But then I did. I always thought that they were bad.

You know, a couple. You know, because he, but he likes to smoke weed. And I don't. And Cassie hates it too. And Cassie's gonna do drugs. And I'm gonna do drugs. And Cassie's gonna do it. I know, you know, like, she's treating all kinds of stuff and I'm too. Right. And I met her before, Matt. And I was gonna ask her out and stuff. And then he just knows on it. He ends up with her. Yeah. So, then that's cool. The kids are happy together. I mean, did he tell you about work having sex with her? I remember how he brag about that. I remember coming to the bathroom, we went to the bathroom, we went out to their house and there's a common rapper in the toilet. And then I asked him about it. And he said that he and I said, I had sex with him. Did he have a fever?

What, what he came, did he talk dirty about her? No. Sort of make you a little bit uncomfortable when you guys watch the movie through the kissing stuff like that. It was like, do you wait, do that in front of me? I guess it kind of like that. What about Tori? Tori, I'm a crush on her too. I mean, you guys had a little bit of a little bit of, you know, usually happens on things like this is, you know, guys like you come in straight up, you know, you tell the truth. Maybe you hold back a little bit more because you don't want to go all the way and somebody else, but we interview comes in by Tori, and he comes in, gets it up. He's a guy like you in the cold, and then you're like, dang it. I should've been up front first. You had a bit of a thought with what? About killing Cassie. I don't, I can't be, I'm concerned about that. You know, I'm not sitting here accusing you, but I got to tell you that I'm concerned about that. I'm concerned yet something to do with it.

On September 26th, he was read his rights with his parents in the building. By then, the film was gone. Now the two of them had spent that evening going through parked cars, looking for things to steal, offering a petty crime in place of an alibi as a strange trade, unless the alternative is worse. On September 27th, he gave a third version in a small room with his parents and officers in it. It's active Andy Thomas took him through it and the detectives titled the recording, The Confession.
