He described the car as either the light blue and color of blueish greens, so that he failed to get the entire license number, but the last three numbers on the rear plate were either 804 or 804. I'm sorry. Crawford said he made an attempt to follow the hit run car, but that he was unable to obtain transportation.

Some cars had tuned hands, two and three times, that meant more checking. By the end of the second week, we've gone through more than half of the 4,600 names on the list. By the end of the fourth week, we had less than a thousand to go. At the General Hospital, the victim, Sheila Gordon, was pronounced out of danger and recovering. 27:29On the top of the right hand fender of the car, I found a lip-impent in red lipstick. I lifted that plant with a piece of solar-faying tape and placed the tape on a plain white car which I have right here with me. You know, this guy of the marks people did a cheese and some art. Now, Mr. Jones, these pieces of evidence that you found on the defense car, did you compare them with other objects? I did. For you please state what comparison you made at your fight. Well, in the first place I find that the fabric marks in people's exhibits see taken from the bumper of the car as the same counter-inch as the stockings worn by the victim. See, look good. Secondly, I found the fabric marks shown in people's exhibits seen from the Colleen hood of the car to be the same counter-inter as the coat worn by the defendant.

28:30I thought I made a comparison between the lip-impent found on the right fender, shown in people's exhibits, and various examples of the victim's lips. See, made the examples by placing her lips against heavy stiff white tape. I have those examples, right? With that, that baby mark, people's exhibits, you think. So much. Now, right now I ask how did the lip-impent taken from the defendant's car compare with the sample imprint made by the victim's lips? I found that there were 17 points of similar between the two. These points are similar, they consist of various small lines or wrinkles which match identically. It has the same form as the old one. Jones, do you have an opinion as a film to the origin of the lip imprint on the defendant's car as shown in people's exhibits? A G. I do.

29:30What is that? My opinion of the lip imprint of the defendant's car as shown in exhibit G was made by the lips of the victim Sheila Gordon. The witness. So, Mr. Jones, we recognize the court that you're a qualified forensic chemist. Where are you going to set yourself up as an expert on women's lips, too? Well, I've done some research on that problem. Mr. Jones, isn't it possible that any number of lip-impents made by different people would look exactly alike? No, it is not possible. There are no two things in the world exactly alike. There are no two sets of lip-impents alike. Well, anyone who's been around at all would know that. That's all, Mr. Jones. Thank you. It gave you wrong.

30:30It's awful for the defendant. There will not offer any defense of this time, Your Honor. It appears to me that if not only has been committed and the reasonable cause of the defendant committed it. But the defendant will be held to answer in superior court. Excuse me, November 4. Suspect Ralphans lower the range of the superior court department 88. And the date of his trial was set for December 1. She was guarding the motion by the defense of this miscalacate and run felony charges against Ralph Angelo. Because of the prosecution's failure to produce the complaining witness to which Sheila are Gordon, the court feels it would not serve the interest of justice to continue the case. Case is missed. The search for Sheila Gordon went on. Behind us, we had logged three solid months of police work, checking and running down more than 4,000 cars, hours of labor in the crime lab, more hours pounding the pavement, questioning the people, checking, rechecking.

32:37Without a trial and a conviction, it didn't mean a thing. Three days before Christmas, we received information that the missing girl was living in a small town, South of Los Angeles.
