This episode is brought to you by Netflix's new series, East of Eden, a bold reimagining of John Steinbeck's masterpiece following generations of the Trask family, through love, betrayal, and the choices that shape humanity, starring Mike Feist and Christopher Abbott as the Trask brothers, and Florence Pew as Kathy Ames, the complex anti-Heroan determined to build the life she wants. No matter the cost, watch East of Eden, October 1st, only on Netflix. Welcome to Friday's edition of The Morning Show Podcast, a daily dose of audio to make your day a little better. As most people in the world are going to be talking about Taylor Swift today, I know you're probably going to be talking about that later, Carlymory. I am. Well, we are going to play Taylor Swift's two second tunes today. Yes, let's go. And I'll be honest with you, since I select the songs, I picked most of my favorite Taylor songs, so they're more old school Taylor.

Interesting. Once she hit me with folklore, that was kind of, I don't know, that was when I started fading as a, as a Swiftie. I have said this before, I admit it, when folklore and evermore came out, I was not like into them because it was the pandemic, and I understand that's what she was feeling, but I didn't also need to, like, I was already sad. Poor girl was going through heartbreak, you know? Like, I, I needed to upbeat music at that time, but post pandemic, oh, I love those albums. I never really gave them another shot. You are okay, you're gonna know. No, I mean, I mean, midnight, how do you not love midnight for Jold, I love it. Listen, give me self titled, give me, like the self titled album, like her first album. debut. I thought it was self titled, it's not called Taylor Swift. It is, we call it debut. Okay, but it's a self titled album. We call it debut. You call it debut. No, no, no, no, we. Anyway, give me red, give me 1989, like give me the bangers, you know? That's what I want.

Well, we'll see what happens. Well, good morning and welcome to the Morning Show podcast. My name is Anthony. I'm Carla Marie and today is Friday, September 25th, 2026. The core for the forehead lines you need to know. Earlier in the week, we talked about how the White House banned CNN and some other media organizations. And then a bunch of organizations said, well, if they're banned, we're not reporting, we're not coming here at all. Well, a judge said, eh, not so fast. They temporarily blocked the Trump administration's ban on journalists. And the judge basically said that these outlets are likely going to succeed in arguing that their press passes were revoked without proper due process. Yeah. So the judge basically put a two week temporary order that says, no, everyone can go back to the White House. All is fair. Like keep reporting. Okay. But the fight isn't completely over because CNN and MS now said that some of their journalists were still denied access to the Chinese president's arrival to the White House.

Yeah. And CNN is still excluded from the White House video pool. So in solidarity with CNN again, for other major networks in the video pool, refuse participate. I got to be upfront about this. This update is not going to change anyone's life. It's not even that important. But it is getting me really riled up. Let me explain. Earlier this week, it was discovered that someone had donated by mistake I would assume a first edition copy of DeKilla Mockingbird, which if you go online, a first edition copy of DeKilla Mockingbird, you can't buy one for under like $14,000, $15,000. It was found in London. And now because it was found in London, a British museum has it. They have our stuff. They have everyone's stuff in these British museums. Wait, but there's no way to trace what an idiot. Now I'm never donating a book again. This is why you do have to check on things before you donate them.

I feel like it would have been a great episode of antique road show. You know, when someone brings a random item and they're like, I found this in my grandmother's basement. That's worth a million dollars. Okay. But I'll never donate anything ever again. This is why you keep all your stuff. The hoarder. It's a hoarder's dream. FIFA owes some World Cup fans thousands of dollars. And these fans did all the right things. They sold their tickets to the World Cup through FIFA's official resale marketplace. Okay. But FIFA's policy said that sellers would be paid within 60 days. A World Cup ended in July. Definitely more than 60 days. Yeah. But some fans are still waiting for thousands of dollars. One man said he's owed more than 15K, another 1900, and then others are waiting anywhere between 3000 to 5000. That's crazy. And it gets even messier because some fans say that FIFA told them their payments were processed. But the money still didn't show up. So everyone's like, are we?

Is FIFA actually going to pay us or not? Now FIFA saying that some payments require additional review or additional banking information because of problems returning the money. This sounds very much like the Kenyan man who took my dollars. Well, here's the thing. And don't say I didn't tell you. FIFA is one of the worst organizations in all of sports. It's shady. It lies all the time. And this is what you get for trusting FIFA. You're going to tell by the end of this podcast, there's a little bit of an AI is insane theme to it. But it finally happened. An AI agent successfully hacked a government. According to news that is just coming out now, open AI had an agent that was able to hack Australia's Medicare system. And it pulled public and non public data. The government right now says no one's private data was released. But who knows if that's actually true. But basically what happened was someone set this open AI agent to pull as much information about Australia's Medicare system as possible.

And when it got to the government website and there were blocks like passwords and things, it just kept trying until it broke in. Open AI said they discovered the hack in August. But they didn't even tell the Australian government until two weeks ago on September 10th, which August to September, not that crazy of a timeline. But if you hack a government system, you should probably tell them right away. And the Australian Prime Minister, I believe it was, is on the record saying we are going to see what we can do legally against open AI. But this is one of the problems with AI agents who is responsible when they break the law or do damage. Hope for humanity. Even when the news sucks, there's still hope. I love an unlikely partnership, but this is incredible. Ford is teaming up with Sesame Street to help families prepare kids for extreme weather and natural disasters.

The partnership launched with a new episode called Storm on Sesame Street, where Elmo and his neighbors rebuild after a devastating storm. It is designed to help kids understand what happens before, during and after severe weather, including things like packing and emergency go bag. I think adults need to watch this. Ford probably thought the same thing because they're also hosting screenings in communities where it has manufacturing plants, where families can watch the episode learn about disaster preparedness and actually pack go bags together. This is incredible. I love that Ford is doing this in communities and for their employees. And if you don't have a go bag, highly recommend packing one. Yeah, do we have one? We have one. Exactly. Yeah. I think by now you've put together that football season is back. And if you watched any of week one or week two football games, you probably saw a lot of ads for draft kings. And that is because draft kings is now live in all 50 states, one app, all the football nationwide.

Stay quick. It's two second tunes. Today all of our songs will be Taylor Swift songs. So who do we have first? Carlymry? First up we have Julia. Good morning. Good morning. Thanks for having me. And Lauren's also here. Good morning Lauren. Good morning. And you are both orange theory instructors here in Seattle. So if you live in this area check them out. Take their classes. They are amazing. Carlymry who's going first? Lauren's going to go first. All right Lauren. Okay. You ready? I'm ready. You know, I'm going to start by playing. Um, I'm going to start by playing with you. I'm going to start by playing with you. I'm going to start by playing with you. One minute earlier before we were recording, you're not as big of a swifty as Julia. This is correct. Yes. Okay. Well, let's see if you can get at least one point on the board. Here is your first two second tune. Okay. I know. I know that. Um, one second. Let me see if I can like play through it in my head. I know that. That is our song.

There we go. I love this is my favorite part about doing this on zoom and we are going to start posting videos very soon But seeing your reaction when the light bulb went off in your head it's priceless We move over to you Julia the bigger of the two swifters that we have here on today's podcast here Two second tune in round one Is it love story I don't think that's right You tell us when it's your final answer. I'll just go with it Incorrect. Oh Correct, which means Lauren you can actually steal a point if you think you know that clue You're not gonna replay it are you? Is that the one I think this was also big when I was in high like middle school and it's like the one where she's in her room And she's holding up a sign like across the street. I don't want is it you belong with me? Is it you belong with me?

Correct Oh I knew now the music video as well that is the music video iconic video it is Well look what we have She plays both characters right. She's like the good guy and the bad guy. Yep Look what we have here a surprising two nothing lead for Lauren As we head into round two we got the Taylor Swift era out of the way we got the fearless era out of the way Back to Lauren in round two here is your two second tune I've no idea no idea I can not a clue. Oh Julia so excited Julia gets out of the zeros club here. I knew you were in trouble. I knew you were trouble two points This is the one that they do the goat screaming goat. Yes, yes, it is the screaming goats video

It's great Julia. You just stole a point back from Lauren now. Let's see if you can tie it up in round two Here is your two second tune Don't blame me. Oh, sorry. I did that before the song. He's over Don't blame me Is incorrect? Oh Man Julia. Well Lauren you can still another point here. Okay Um, I'm just trying to think of even song names now. I don't know Zero points that correct song carl and re would have been look what you made me do It's just really just like a sound. It's any of the songs in the beginning You know that might even though it's round two that might be the hardest clip that we play But it is still anyone's game carl and re where are we in the the score here as we head into round three Lauren is leading with by one point into two to one. Okay Lauren cool. We come back to you now if you get this correct You would actually be today's champion you would put the game out of reach for Julia

Lauren here in round three for the win if you get this right Okay, is your two second tune I That's not ringing any bells no bells no bells. It's about to wait. Let me think No, I don't I mean I would even try to think like of a neat song name and I don't have any I don't know well, but you get no bells the thing you do get is a buzzer Julia you can steal a point and tie it up right now It's wildest dream. It's wildest dreams Correct And listen, I don't want any of the the Swifties out there to get mad at me I do want to get pay respect to each of the errors that we've talked about we got teller Swift and fearless in the first round Red and reputation in the second round and that was 1989. Okay. Well Julia it is tied to two If you get this right you are today's champion if you get it wrong You give Lauren a chance to steal and get the win or we can end up with a tie and push this to the tie breaking round

Everything is on the table Is this too much pressure for you? You're gonna be okay? She's got this my heart rate is very high, but I'm so good Are you using your orange? Are you using your earth? Right here is your two second tune Oh Oh my gosh I know the words. I just don't know the song. I don't know Lauren you can Lauren you can steal Okay, and you can steal the win with this one. It's not the one where she's like It's I was a man. I'd be the man. Is it I don't know what you called is it just called like man like I were a man Well, I was on a car. Regardless of what that song is called It is the incorrect answer. So the one you're thinking of is called the man But this one is a cruel summer

Isn't this the one where like breaks down and like everyone sings it and there's the dance on TikTok Which I guess I could say that for every song, but yeah, here's the good news Neither of you are losers yet We have a tie breaking round. So this is how it works We have a song that is 10 seconds long a clip that is 10 seconds long Only one and this is how you're going to buzz in you are going to scream your name the second you identify the song the moment you identify the song You yell your name we stop it and if you give us the correct title you are the champion So you are gonna race to see who gets this answer first Now I'm sweating Here I've been sweating In overtime sudden death is your now 10 second tune This is in a Disney movie I don't know if that's true. It could be I think it was in a

Her name Welcome to New York for the win You know what honestly I almost feel like we have to give you guys a tie, but Julia is the official winner. So Congratulations Julia. That was awesome People are weird all you can do is shake your head and say Really dude I think Stanford University forgot that they have black students That could be the only reason that this happened. So Stanford University has been in a lot of trouble this week because it was found out that they used AI To take a picture that was taken in 2024 and make it look more diverse So the original picture had An Asian woman a white guy and a Hispanic guy. Okay, what they do Well the white guy just became a slightly different white guy in the AI version of the picture

Like he looks similar enough, but his hair is different and his face is a little different The Hispanic guy became a black woman. Oh, that's bizarre and the Asian woman became a thinner Asian woman I don't understand There was no reason to run this picture through AI and change all of the kids faces and change their ethnicity And their weight and their hair Just a take a new photo B did those people give you permission to run their face through AI? Nope. No lawsuit Oh that photographer are you allowed to do that to their work lawsuit? So one of the articles I read interviewed the Hispanic kid who got replaced with the black woman in The AI version of the photo and he said that the picture was like everywhere on campus And he recognized that he was in the original picture But didn't know how he ended up being a black woman She wasn't there that day. But here's the craziest thing I am sure that you have black students Go take a picture of your black students if you are trying to use your black students in your marketing materials

Go take a picture of your Asian students if you're trying to use Asian students in your marketing materials People ever what turn it all off turn off the AI and we're all gonna learn AI ethics This episode is brought to you by Netflix's new series East of Eden A bold reimagining of John Steinbeck's masterpiece following generations of the Trask family through love betrayal and the choices that shape humanity starring Mike Feist and Christopher Abbott as the Trask Brothers and Florence Pugh as Kathy Ames The complex anti-heroine determined to build the life she wants No matter the cost watch East of Eden October 1st only on Netflix It's like all the other pop culture segments but better Because it rhymes it's pop stop My initial reaction to the four new songs some Taylor Swift are That I'm obsessed and I went into this being very sus because I was like, I'm not gonna like it

I don't know. I'm not sure where she's going with this. I love it. I'm gonna do a breakdown a beach song of what I thought of them But the disc two of life of a showgirl drop last night like that's how it's listed on Spotify But it's the life of a showgirl the encore these are my quick initial thoughts of beach song without revealing anything pacien 0 love the vibes and then I said we love a bridge. Oh a wrap. Okay Next song Cleveland I personally so happy that Cleveland is getting love shout out to all of our Cleveland peeps I love the song. It is my favorite but it does feel like a sitcom theme song in a good way and my favorite line is you only need to find one person in this world who doesn't find you completely inseparable and I found mine. I mean if that's not a love song, I don't know what is and then there's pink clouding it is giving midnight which I did say I love that album. It is just giving me those vibes and

Oh she wrapped again on this one so that was fun and then babble on I actually had to listen to it twice Because I was like what is going on here? Because it was driving me nuts and I'm pretty sure the melody And the overall vibes are giving champagne problems. So it's like champagne problems 2.0 Those are my thoughts leave comments on here. Let me know what you think a DM me at the carlumery I'm very excited Big sports weekend I'm going to start with college football where 12 of the 25 top teams are playing one another so it should be good football Like what we were saying where teams are winning like 86 to 0 exactly you have six games with ranked verse ranked The first game is number one Texas at number 14 Tennessee This game is very interesting because the president might show up as a spectator for this game And I didn't know this until I was listening to an interview with uh Steve Sarkiesian He is the current coach of the University of Texas He said that one thing that people don't understand is if a president is visiting a game

And let's say the president is arriving or leaving from the suite and going to another suite or leaving the stadium While the president is moving all communications are cut in the stadium Which means you have to have a plan as a coach if you can't get into your quarterbacks Star headset. That's not fair to these players and you have to have a connection with the booth upstairs That's helping you call plays and you know this guy is not moving fast around the stadium But they don't even know what it happened So no one indicates to the team we're about to put the president In motion and your communications are gonna cut out my game. How crazy is that illegal? Uh the other ranked games you have number four old miss at florida number 17 Iowa at number 18 michigan Number 23 Texas a.m. At number 10 ls. You number 20 Oregon at number 12 USC I'm excited for that game and the number 19 Missouri at number 24 Mississippi state And if you didn't want to watch football this weekend The W NBA kicks off their playoffs on Sunday with the number one seed Minnesota links
