Welcome to your Daily Dose of Hope, I'm Phyllis Nichols and I'm glad you're here.
Early on in this in the Daily Dose of Hope, I know I did an episode about doom scrolling.
Talking about like maybe we need to start hope scrolling, right?
Looking for positive things that are being shared on social media.
Because when things aren't going well or sometimes we just need a distraction, maybe because
we're tired, we've had a tough day, trying to avoid something maybe, you know, we start
to scroll or just kind of numb out looking at social media.
And we just kind of disappear into funny videos and that sort of thing and there's nothing
wrong with that.
Sometimes all of us need to take a break.
But I just want to remind you today that hope doesn't live in this scroll.
It lives in action, right?
And we're present in our moment and when we're really present in our own lives and it lives
in those small steps that we take.
Maybe deciding to stop doom scrolling and looking at the worst possible scenario.
There are a lot of scary things happening in the world.
Those are real.
I'm not saying we should pretend like they're not happening, but we also can't dwell
on that to the exclusion of everything else.
Sometimes it's a small step to take care of yourself.
Reach out to a friend.
Do something that helps you feel positive and helps you move your life forward.
Even something tiny can make a difference because progress, even slow progress, it creates
energy and energy creates hope.
And if it feels hard today, I hope that you'll close the scroll when you pick up your phone
and you're kind of going to your just your habitual right looking on Instagram or wherever
you go and ask yourself, hey, instead of doing this, what's one small thing I could do
for myself instead?
And then do that.
