Well, hello there friends! Welcome to a super special story time explainer. If you're hanging out with your mom, dad, or your caregiver, go ahead and snuggle up nice and close. Get super comfy. Today we're going to dive into a story about a little girl, a bright pot of blue ink, and a very, very silly cat. Are you ready? Let's jump right in! Alright, look right here. This is our little girl. Do you see her brown hair and those big bright pink cheeks? And oh my goodness, look who's right there beside her. It's her furry best friend. He's a kitty cat with so many soft, soft stripes. He's got these bright green eyes and a super long tail. It looks like they're just having a really nice quiet day at home together. Now, do you see the little girl sitting at that bumpy red table? Well, she's got a really big job to do today. She wants to write a very special story, the kind we call a poem. She has a little round pot of wet blue ink, a pointy little pen, and a big blank white pad of paper. But look at her hand reaching up. Scratch, scratch, scratch.
She's scratching her head because she's trying so hard to think of the perfect words to write down. Ah, I see. Here's what she's thinking about. Right up there in that little thought bubble, you can see her mom and dad. She wants to write her beautiful poem all about them. But wait, just a second. Do you spot something fuzzy sneaking up right beside her? Uh-oh. Whose striped tail is that pointing right at her? Boeing suddenly that silly cat jumps right up onto the desk. And what does he do? He plops his furry little bottom straight down on her clean white drawing pad. Oh, you silly, silly kitty. How in the world is she going to write her poem with a big striped cat sitting right smack on her paper? So she tries really, really hard to focus again. She closes her mouth tight, scrunches her face, and thinks of something brand new. This time she imagines the big, beautiful blue sea with big, swirly waves and a soft sandy beach. Ah, what a nice poem that would be. She just needs to get her pen ready to write it all down.
But watch out. Wush. Up jumps that silly cat again. He gives a big, fast swish with his long, striped tail, and clatter, clatter. He knocks the pointy pen right out of the little girl's hand. Oh my goodness. He is just being so incredibly playful today, isn't he? I think he really just wants to play with his best friend. Okay, she's going to try again. She rests her chin right on her hand and thinks about a pretty bright red rose. But then... Lick. The cheeky cat leans right in and gives her a wet, tickly kiss right on the very end of her nose. You know, it is definitely hard to write a poem when a cat is tickling your face. All right, now she has another grand idea. She throws her arm straight up in the air like she's saying, I know. She imagines a giant, splashing, blue humpback whale swimming right above her head. She decides she wants to write a giant poem about a giant whale in the deep blue ocean. But oh boy, watch out. Because here comes that swishy tail again.
Swish, swish, splat. Oh no. The cat's tail knocks right into the little ink pot and all that wet blue ink spills everywhere. You can see the little girl's eyebrows pointing down. She looks super frustrated and just a little bit annoyed. She picks up the naughty, wiggly kitty right in her arms. She actually has to tell him using her very serious voice that he just cannot stay inside right now. He keeps bugging her and won't let her do her riding. And just look at that big messy blue ink puddle all over her nice red table. So she decides she absolutely has to put the silly cat outside for just a little while. But wait, where is the cat? Where on earth did our furry striped friend go? Oh my, it looks so, so cold out there. Burr, a poor little cat is sitting all by himself on the outside window sill. Do you see those bear trees with absolutely no leaves at all? And look at that freezing, wintry purple sky behind him.
He's wrapped his tail super tightly around his paws just to try and stay warm. He looks so cold and honestly very, very sad. And let's take a peek at the little girl inside. Do you see her face looking through the window glass? She's trying so hard to write her poem, but she really doesn't look happy at all, does she? Her big eyes are staring right at her cat. She feels terrible because she misses her best friend. It's just no fun at all being inside all by yourself without him. So she sits right back down at the table. Slurp! She sucks on the end of her pointy pin. Scratch scratch scratch. Slips her head again, she is thinking very, very hard. What should she do? She really wants to write, but she also really wants her kitty back. How is she going to fix this big problem? Aha, suddenly her eyes get super wide. She just had the absolute best idea ever. And if you look real close at the window, you can actually see the kitty cat peeking in. He's looking so hopeful with his little paws pressed right on the glass. He totally wants to know what her big idea is. Just look at that big, beautiful smile.
She opens up the window and lets him come right back inside. They're best friends again. And do you know what she's going to write her beautiful poem about? She's going to write it all about her cat. Now I have a question for you. Do you have a furry best friend at home that you just love to give big giant hugs to? Think about them today. And you know maybe you can tell a little story about them too. Thanks so much for hanging out with me for this fun story time explainer friends. I wonder what magical adventure we'll go on next time.
