Hello there, little friends. Today, we're gonna open up a magical storybook and explain all the wonderful pictures inside. It's all about a little boy who has a very, very big imagination. Our story is called My Huge Shoes Story. Are you ready to go on an adventure with me? Okay, let's go! But first, I have a super fun question for you. Have you ever tried putting on your mommy or daddy's giant shoes? You know, when you stomp, stomp, stomp around the house and your little toes slide all over because the shoes are just so, so big? Well, the little boy in our story today did exactly that. Wow, look at how big that smile is. There he is, sitting right inside a gigantic brown shoe. It's so big, it looks like a little boat he could sail in. And look right next to him. Do you see his feathery friend? That is a stork. A stork is a big, beautiful white bird with a very long orange beak. Now our little boy had a very silly idea. The story explains it with a fun little poem. It goes like this.
Ever since I recall with Glee, I pondered if my folks' shoes you see were so vast, my feet could surely fit. Two in one, a whimsical hit. That's a fancy way of saying he wanted to squish both of his little feet into just one of his daddy's huge shoes. Can you even imagine that? Well, look what happened next. The little boy actually squeezed both of his feet into one huge white sneaker. He wanted to stand up super tall and balanced, just like that graceful stork standing right next to him. I am a stork, he thought, already to stretch out his big bird wings. Let's play a quick game together. Can you stand up on one leg exactly like a stork? Try it right now. I'll wait. Lift one foot up. Hi. Whoa, Wibblewabble. It's a little tricky, isn't it? It takes a lot of practice to balance like a bird. The little boy thought it would be super easy, but oh boy, he was in for a big surprise. Early the very next morning, while the whole house was fast asleep, the boy decided to
try his trick. The book tells us, that morning, all in slumber deep, took a shoe, tiptoed, no peep. Shhh, he was trying to be so, so quiet while his mommy and daddy were sleeping in their beds. Tiptoe, tiptoe. Okay, so here was his big plan. Step one, put on that really big shoe. Step two, tiptoe very, very carefully across the floor. Step three, oh no, tumble down. Let's count his wobbly steps together. Ready? One, two, three. Wibblewabble, woo. Uh oh, look at the boy falling backward. He's trying so hard to be a tall stork, but he's tumbling right out of that giant shoe. He's reaching out, trying to grab the edge of the table so he doesn't fall, but his little hands are slipping. His stork magic just isn't working out the way he wanted. And then, crash. Oh my goodness, what a loud, scary noise. The whole table shook, and mommy's beautiful fragile vase fell right onto the floor.
Smash, it broke into lots and lots of little pieces. Oh no, look at the broken vase. Mommy and daddy heard that huge crash and came running right into the room. Look at their faces. They look very worried, don't they? They're a little bit scared because falling down from climbing on things can hurt. And look at the little boy sitting on the floor with his little paper beak. He looks so surprised. Our storybook explains it like this. Mom and dad rushed faces in woe. They fretted about the shattered vase, in danger's path, I'd set my pace. You see, making paper wings and climbing up on things to act like a bird just wasn't a safe way to play inside the house. Mommy and daddy love their little boy so much and they just want him to be safe and sound. So, what do you think we learned from the story today? We learned that climbing on furniture and wearing shoes that are way, way too big can be a little bit dangerous. You might fall down and get a big outgie. But do you know what is incredibly safe and super fun?
Reading a magical book. That is the absolute best way to have a big adventure without getting hurt. His mommy and daddy taught him a beautiful lesson. They said, we can dream, discuss, imagine and feel in stories and books and list appeal. That means books hold the very best kind of magic. You don't ever need to climb on tall tables to fly. You can fly right inside your very own imagination when you read a storybook. Just look at this amazing picture. The magic is literally zooming right out of the open pages. Do you see that giant flying stork and the bright yellow moon shining high up in the sky? Look at all those glowing sparkly stars. When you read a book, you can be a stork. You can fly all the way to the moon and you can do it all while being perfectly safe in your cozy little room. And that brings us to the end of our wonderful storybook explainer today. It's almost time to snuggle up, get super cozy and close our eyes. So, I want to ask you. What are you going to dream about tonight?
Are you going to fly high with the storks or maybe explore those shiny twinkling stars? There are endless adventures waiting for you right inside your very own imagination. Sweet dreams, little friends.
