a couple voices. We don't get to talk too very often, but we love talking to them. We'll have
Shio Kapatia and Ashland Solomon at noon and at one o'clock, Icrease and Jason.
All right. Football guy hour at one coming up on the midday show. All right, guys. The twins.
Yeah. Yes. Yes. I said something would say. We got a lot to talk about here with the Eagles.
Arrow up, arrow down. We'll get to the phone calls, but there's an opportunity right now when
there's opportunity, I think how he rose been the Max Crosby situation just went bananas last night.
We all thought he was a Raven. I think the Raiders thought he was a Raven Max Crosby did. He failed
the physical. Let's hear from me in rap port. The reporting on it was really wild to follow.
Last night into this morning. What went down? Why Max Crosby is still a Raider and not a Raven?
There really is no such thing as a failed physical, right? Because every player is varying levels of
medical fitness. It is really a decision that the teammates makes about what risk they are willing
to assume. In other words, if the Baltimore Ravens paid a million dollars and no draft picks for
Max Crosby, they would probably decide that the risk of his knee, which is not fully healed from a
Miniskus repair, they would probably assume that that risk is worth it. If they want to pay
Max Crosby his entire salary and two first round picks, they might decide that the knee
Miniskus repair, not fully back, that it is not worth the risk. That is clearly what the decision
that the Baltimore Ravens have made. It is not unprecedented. It is incredibly, incredibly rare.
And for Crosby, who's so happy to be a Raven, who's so out on the Las Vegas Raiders, this is
a absolutely dramatic, dramatic outcome. And really we don't know right now whether or not Crosby
is going to die in because he's doing that on purpose. Something weird happened with the cut.
Okay, okay. Let's say, and it's not like we've phased it, phased it out. It was almost dramatic
there. I was waiting Ian out of the show. Get us back up. Bottom line is this. Crosby is still a
raider. He's still available. And I want how he rose going to go get him. I mean, this to me,
it's an opportunity, John. What's it going to cost now? Well, that's a good point. It's not down.
Not too too far as round draft picks. So here's what we know. We know the Eagles need a past
russure and we're after one, right? They tried on Jalen Phillips. They didn't get him.
Reporting this morning that they were in on Trey Hendrickson, which tells me they're telling us we
still need an edge russure. And this is an unbelievable opportunity. This is a better past russure
than Trey Hendrickson. And we know he's available for less than what would be two first round picks
because that's what he was just about to go for. And now there's no way he'll go for that amount
after failing a physical. Yeah. That's the thing. But now whether he deserved to fill that
physical or not, the fact that he did means that it sounds going to get too first form. Yeah,
you're not getting that. I'm thinking maybe a second. I would, if it's me, if I'm a highway,
I'm off in a second or a third. You're not that's what I only a second or third. Listen,
you got no shot. Let me tell you. No, listen, he's still Max. Crows. It doesn't matter. When
the Ravens did this, they heard his value big time. They, they big time heard his value. So
now you're in a situation, I'm pretty sure now Max just wants to go. So if I'm highway,
I was hoping I say I give you a two and a three. I give you a two that could be. Yeah,
something like that because nobody because you know what the unfortunate thing about it and he's
right. It all depends on what a doctor says about your physical because everybody's banged up at
this point in their career. I say no chance to get trader for that. Why not? Why not? Because he's
not going to get a two. He's not going to get a one. Why would you give a one for Max,
Crosby? Well, if the bidding was two ones, it could drop to one one. Right? If the Ravens won the
bidding at two first one first one first one biggest is half the bidding. I would take a two.
Let me tell you another thing about this story that I'm that I'm feeling the way that the
Ravens handled this was kind of shape. It was a shape. I mean, it was above board. Everything
was above board, right? But it feels like buyers remorse. Of course. I'll give it to this year
and I'll give it to next year. Hey, we can work with that. Yeah, I can work with that. Give me Max
Crosby. Max Crosby. But he's not getting, man, I'm not giving you nothing more for Max Crosby. Well,
then you might not get it. I mean, that like someone I nobody's going to give him a one. Well,
I don't know. I don't know. I mean, he sure doesn't want to be a raider. The raider sure don't want
him. That I that we know. Yeah, the raiders are in a tough spot. Joe, how much would you offer?
Well, at least one would you, let's look, let's look. I'm lowballed. Would you offer the 23rd
pick in the draft this year? The Eagles won. It's certain. It's not next year's one where we don't
know what it's going to be. Yeah, I, yeah, man, look, I value those picks big time. But yeah,
if I could get Max Crosby and have him under contract at a decent number, uh, the answer is yes.
I'm like, oh, he's proven. I'm not giving, I'm not giving him my 23rd pick though. But I, I feel
confident that Max Crosby will give me more than whomever we could pick at 23. Without question.
Are you, are you that confident about? Like Mac, first of all, they're drafting over these past
three years has been unbelievable. Yeah. Right. But outside of that, we can say the Ravens may be
handled it in a shady way, whatever. The Ravens are a good organization. They clearly run well
and they clearly had concerns about his knee. They did. Like they redid Lamar's contract yesterday
in order to create cap space to get Max Crosby. So the Eagles can make their own assessment. They can
take the chance on it. But I'm not thrilled about trading a first round pick for a guy that's
going to be 29 when the season begins is has some version of a knee injury and is going to cost
him $60 million over the next two years. So I, I think Q's correct. Like I would offer a two,
but I'm not doing a one. Boy, that feels, but do you want to win the bidding or do you just want
to get your hat, you know, hat in the mix, right? Like, do you think a two would get him? I feel so
good. I don't, I don't, I don't, I'm about to choose what this year and next year's two. I'll take
that to, I think today is going to tell you everything that you want to know about this. Because the news,
you know, everybody's still kind of processing it. I'm pretty sure there's going to be some teams
that want to jump into the mix. Right. If you're truly not concerned, they just call and offer
whatever. Yeah. But I think that I am concerned. I think, no, you find what Ellie had said.
This is, this is not a joke organization. I mean, the Ravens are legit. Right. They're, they
didn't, I, I agree with you. It doesn't make sense for them to just say, hey, you know,
Willie Nilly, we fail you. That's not their MO. They are an esteemed organization. That doesn't
fit their character. And I know that I know that pivoting the Hendrix Hendrix and does make it sound
like that was a plan all along. But it also makes a ton of sense. If you think you're getting Max
Crosby, you then don't have, you then don't think you can't get him because he's hurt more than you
pivot to another edge. Right. It's not that crazy. Yeah. And they came from Cincinnati. Yeah,
they took one from their own division. Sure. It's a huge thing. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, I just,
that position, guys, is a huge need for me. And I think a huge need for the Eagles. I mean,
think about over the last year, all the rumors slash what they've done. They went out and the
rumor was they tried to get Michael Parsons in the summer. He gets to Green Bay, right? Then they
signed Zadaria Smith off the street. Miles Garrett. Miles Garrett. Zadaria Smith retires. Then
they go out and get jail on Phillips. They bring Brandon Graham back. Yeah, Brandon Graham is
still on the team. Yeah, but aren't they telling us he's a free agent for what it's worth. But, but
we assume that they would be able to do something. I would think he'll be back. But it's worth noting
he's team and Brandon friendly where they would work something out. Is he able to even play
this year? I'll do it. Is he someone who could give us enough brand? I think he can give you
10 really good snaps a week. I think one of the most telling things about what the Eagles think
they have is whether they sign on Smith this off season or not. I agreed with that. He is now
eligible for a contract for the first time in his career, a second contract, three years in.
He's a first round kick. I can't sign him. He's supposed to be a good portion of what we're
discussing. I mean, I can't sign him based on what I've seen thus far, though. I mean,
and what we've talked about, like signing during the season, is it going to happen or not?
If it's not happening during the season, Nolan Smith has not shown me enough to sign him to a big
deal. Doesn't every action over the last year tell you that they're not sold on Nolan Smith?
Tell them because you're talking about an old trying to get somebody a more consistent edge rush.
Yeah, they were ready to make Nolan Smith edge number three. It's no like Alex Hutton Phillip
and Jalen Phillips. We're going to be their top two edges as a as an edge guy yourself. You
does Nolan Smith's aggression almost work against him because over the long run. So,
violence. Yeah, I love the way he plays. He pummels people. I mean, it smashes people. Yeah,
but then I don't see him always play that way probably because his body can't withstand it.
He plays bigger than what he is. Sure. And we benefited tremendously the year we went to the
Super Bowl when he when he crushed that guard that pulling guard. Oh, that was fire. You can
like feel the TV shaking. Yeah, he crushed that pulling guard, man. And I'll tell you, that's not,
you know, as like I'm a little bit shorter and was a little bit wider. That still doesn't feel good,
but he was out there crushing him. Yeah, there's something to that in his durability because your
biggest available, your biggest asset in the NFL is your availability. It's going on. I'm Arche Manning,

That's commuterconnections.org. And if we got to kind of, you know, rotate guys out and can't
play guys because they're always hurt, you want somebody that's a little bit more dependable at
that position. All right, so on the record here, 23rd pick for Max Cross. No, Elliot? No.
You know, John? Yes? Yeah. And Josie, yes. I'm a yes too. I will say I feel a little
icky because I think the offense needs a lot more help, but yes. It does need more help.
It's a, in effect, you know, a couple of years ago, the defense needed all the help, but they
went and got sake one and that boosted the offense to where and they fixed the defense together.
Yeah, of course it works together. I just think if this thing's good to go the way we want it to,
they need the defense to stay at a super high level. Max, if they put Max Cross been in the field
with Jail and Carter and Bonn and the two corners and we'll throw a wound in there, I feel like,
yeah, they're going to be just fine. Well, they went a lot of six free games and like,
unless Max Crossby has in the injury and he's not the same guy he used to. You know, it just kind
of feels like to me. That's a big, big part of it. When you talk about the guys that the Eagles have
tried to acquire, it feels to me like they're trying to get a more, more production out of that one
individual instead of rotating that position all the time. Certainty. They want certain. They want,
they want somebody that can be out there about, I don't know how much the Jailics hunt and all those
other guys played. I think like 66% of the snaps, I think they want like 70, 80 out of that
position. Somebody that can be out there for the long haul. And it's one thing if it was going
for two ones the way it was last week. I'm not surprised how we backed out, but if the price
has dropped, I got to jump back in. Let's go to the phone lines here. Chris in Middletown up
at Bird's Town Hall. Hey, Chris. Good morning, everybody. How are we doing today? Chris, good morning,
Chris. How are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty, pretty good here. But you're just telling
I'm feeling about these here Eagles. You know, the Eagles are pointing down like Joe DeCameras
turned a Philadelphia Phillies knowledge. Just almost a flat line. Is that a shot at the hammer?
Oh, wow. I'm kind of shocked. Hammer got a bounce back this week, man. They talking bad about
you hammering the streets. I've never lost three in a row. Hammer. And this could be the week.
Don't hurt them, hammer. I need a little more confidence out of you. You can't say it could
be the week. By the way, I haven't seen him yet, but I was told that the guy whose foot I landed on
that the rail, the Miiverse Jack thing for six months is back there somewhere at McGurks right
now. Now, are you, do you want to see him? Do you not want to see him? Well, I've seen him
before after. Okay. It's a fine fellow. Wasn't his fault, I guess. But, well, no, it was his
fault. He had his foot there. Should have had a clear landing for the hammer's foot. And he
said he was trying to hard for the rebound. And I have the other foot. He bruised bow into me.
Remember, Bruce Bowen, you said, of course, yeah, the slightest foot. No, he's a really good dude.
Apparently, he's here, but I'll try. Oh, there he is right here. My man, my man. He would slide
his foot under his side of the story. No, because he's getting blamed here for probably no reason.
He should get plans. His foot. Well, I mean, he, he almost to rail Joe versus Jack. Now it's
a rail. Yeah, but we're going to finish this next week. By the way, how are we, how are we feeling, Joe?
Great. Jason Poo, 20 laps. You heard? Yeah. I mean, just to be clear, I was at a regulation
pool. Where is that? And it was like, it was probably like a 10 yard length. It was probably like
a half olympic size would be my guess. I'm going to win. Let me ask you guys, he's me and John
talking about all the time. I know his opinion. Hugh, Joe and Elliott, who's going to win? Mayor Fritz.
So I, I think Jack, yeah, I, I was, I was picking you Joe before the
injury. I'm a little concerned, a little rust. A lot of months, you know, not moving around the
right way. I'm going to go with Jack. Feel like you're getting the, no, not the response. He was
just a clean and clean sweep. You know what? I'm, I'm kind of torn because, you know, me and Jack's
relationship has changed when we talk baseball because you know, Jack, when he, when, when, when we
didn't get boba shed and we started talking baseball, he kind of, you know, cornered me in the, in the
hall. I think he had a more body. He just needed somebody to talk to some frustration. Well, he was
just, he took, he wanted somebody to talk to and I just happened to be there. John was more
a shoulder crying. Yeah, it was like a more of a body type moment. Well, so did that draw you
closer? Well, it was, it was, we speak, we, we speak more frequently now. I can't even just say
yes. Well, so you guys, you guys have formed a bond. No, not so much a bond, but we, we communicate,
our communication has grown over the last couple of months. Oh, wow. And Jack has been working,
I don't know about Jack. He's in a pod on that. Jack has, you know, dropped some weight. But I,
I got to go with the OG though, man. I got to go with the OG. Thank you, sir, because I, because I
did here, my man at Amphor, shout out to the Amphor, he said that he went to school with you. I think
his name was Brian. And he said, you can shoot. He said, you're a shooter. He said, you're not
much of a defense player. And he's saying like that. He said, you can shoot. He definitely said that.
So I'm going to go with the hammer. Thank you. He's not wrong by the way. Cute. The, the, the shooting
part, like, it's sedentary shooting. It's, it's like, he's not fluid. Oh, school 1960s.
Shut up. Shut up. So I'm thinking, is it make it take it? Like if it's make it take it,
you have the rules all been flushed out. So I'm going to, I'm going to deep dive. But if he's
going to get here, he rocks down. But if he, if it's make it take it, he, he, he hitting threes,
it might get ugly for. Yeah. So we did a segment at the end of the summer. And we soft a lot,
but not all. I'm going to go back and listen to it. Okay. Yeah. We had three things left to figure
out. And we'll, we'll be getting into this more Thursday, Friday and Monday. Okay. Chris,
you're still there, buddy. Oh, yeah. We're sorry. We got carried away. I'm just, I'm just back
here producing the show. So hey, have you guys met Chris? Yes. Many times. Chris is yoked. Chris
is swole. I mean, it's probably as big as you. But he's, Chris is a little short. No, Chris,
you're not exactly that tall either. I'm taller than Chris. Well, our apologies, Chris.
You may be the same. We may be the same. But you, you, you, you're a little bit, little, little
thicker. So, but the wide, the wide body power. He's powerful. Guys, let me, let me, let me address
this. Your Eagles thing. But first, I'm going to chime in to Joe. The camera is going to get his
face crushed. Like what John, right? You did too. But I did never do that here. But listen,
here's what's going on. I love to move yesterday. They went out and did a haul how he special.
They grabbed a talented guy, gave him one year deal. So they're going to let him walk and they're
going to pick up another pick on the back end of that. I think that was telling that they threw
that money at him because now I think the AJ thing is shifting to maybe after the June 1
were to spread, spread the cap it. But they've already acquiesced and said, hey, we want 20,
27 draft picks. We don't really care about 20, 26 draft picks with a 27. So they can get higher
picks, which is what they're doing because the reality is, I keep telling you guys this,
all of the you people that Jalenites out there, you need to reach for the smelling salts
and wake up to reality because they are positioning themselves for a new franchise quarterback
in 2027. They're either going to draft one, which draft is loaded with talent in 27 at quarterback
or they are going to load up on draft capital to pull off a tree. How he does this?
Remember? Thankfully, he missed on this, but he's willing to go after a quarterback in a trade.
He went out for free. Mario, Mario, the thing was chipped and the Carson thing was, was, was happy.
Creepy. That was how he, the Watson, the Watson, the Watson. Creepy.
Yeah, but here's, Chris, I don't think, I don't think you're wrong that that could happen.
The way I view it, is it feels to me like the Eagles are positioning themselves that if they have
to move off of Jalen after this year, they can do it. They're going to have the draft picks to do it.
He doesn't have guaranteed money after this season. I mean, it's how he roseman Joe, when it's time
to hedge, he will hedge when it's time to do that. And the more I watch for agency the last few
years, boy, this thing is easier to build when it's a guy on a rookie deal. And the last couple
years as Jalen's cap number goes up, it's just been harder to maneuver day one and two.
They did win the Super Bowl with Jalen on a max contract. They did, they did.
Right, but, but what is that now, but as the cap number goes up, these two days of
free agency become less and less active. So I don't think that the issue is actually Jalen's
cap number. His cap number is still relatively low. I think it's like $30 million. It's not really
that big compared to most great quarterbacks, but compared to a rookie quarterback.
Agreed. It's, yeah, but it's still it's not taking a high percentage of the cap.
I think the, the larger issue with this team in terms of maneuvering things is when you hit
on every pick in the first three rounds for four years, that's just a very expensive thing that
a lot of teams don't have to deal with. I agree. Part of this reminds me of the 49ers when they
got really good five years ago and they moved off of Jimmy G and they ended up with Brock Purdy.
Yeah, to me, it extended their window. Now, if Jalen plays great rookie deals,
right? Yeah. If Jalen plays great, Hugh, this isn't a big deal. He'll be the quarterback.
He's under contract, but if he doesn't play great, all this is out there. I think that's why
they brought in the brain trust. I mean, we keep forgetting about the brain trust. We had three
guys that are here. I think most of them don't consider them a brain trust. I consider them the
brain trust. You mean, Manion, Grasard, the manion, the manion triplets. Who is it?
Jarod Johnson, right? That's right. The manion triplets. Who's the third one?
Jarod Johnson. Oh, the triplets. Two and a half men. They brought in the, that's what
Kyle coined the matter or somebody on you, people calling them two and a half manion.
But that's why they brought in the, they brought in the brain trust.
Because they, they are at an impasse to your point. I think there is some conversation about,
you know, Jalen hurts and whether or not you want to extend it. And like I said earlier,
he's well within his rights. If he wanted to, to ask for some more money because of what he's
accomplished. So he's what he's accomplished so far. They should not give it to him. It does.
I'm just saying. Let me come on. Let me do that. That's another conversation. But like I said,
he's well within his rights. So not it. You bring in the brain trust and you try to resurrect
this, this passing game with Jalen hurts and AJ Brown for that matter and make it better.
See if you can make it work. And if you can, if AJ is going to, I'm excuse me, then Jalen's
going to get paid and we can move forward with the plan, with the master plan.
All right, guys. Let's, let's hit this for our, our ends with you to camera, John Richie.
Prediction for the next day or so. Rest of today, birds, town hall, McGurks, do you expect the
Eagles to be active? Or is it going to be all right? Requel and his are big day one, day two
signing and then a kind of quiet. Now, what's your thought on what happens next couple days, John Richie?
I expect, I expect how a to move and be active, inquisitive on this max.
Crosby, yeah. There is nothing that how he likes more than a legit bargain, a guy who is
an all pro player that you can somehow get for a steal. And this feels like if it drops, if that
first round pick drops out of this equation, and you can get him for a couple of twos or a two
and a three, holy cow, custom made for, for making this team better in a hurry. I love that idea.
And I think how he's probably feeling it out right now. All right, so John Richie says Eagles
could go across me. Joe Prediction for next couple days is AJ here by the end of the day.
My prediction for the next few days is not much activity from the Eagles and no AJ trade,
not this week. Do you think this is going to the draft or June one?
Look, this June one thing is really a complicating factor.
Absolutely, yes. I think the fact that Buffalo and New England already got a wide receiver hurts.
My instincts, I don't know how to answer your question, obviously. I would just say probably post
June one, but maybe the draft. Look, it could be this week, but I'm starting to be less optimistic
that they'll get what they want and they're not going to have to figure it out on the fly in the
summer. Yeah, I still don't think he's going to be there at training camp, but when it happens,
I thought it would happen today. We're not there. We shall see. All right, coming up on the other
side, we're going to have James Seltzer, the Goldbirds guys, the Goldbirds guys, James Seltzer,
Elliott, St. Brooks, Joe and John. Great show this morning. Thank you for joining us. Thanks,
guys. All right, we have broadcast from McGurks and Horuschen for Birds Town Hall presented by Nova
Care Rehabilitation. Join the same patch today celebration. Go on on all McGurks locations next
week, live music, Irish dancers, a long Irish food and drink specials all day long. All right,
come up. Go Birds, guys. Your phone calls and the AJ situation. Yesterday, what happened in New
England? They signed a receiver. Where does the leverage go now? Where is the AJ thing going? It
