About this episode
This illustrated children’s book presents an adapted version of the classic fairy tale The Snow Queen, following a young girl named Gerda on a quest to rescue her friend Kay. After a magical mirror shard turns Kay’s heart cold, he is lured away to a frozen palace by a mysterious winter deity. Throughout her journey, Gerda encounters various characters, including a sorceress, a helpful raven, and a generous princess, who assist her in overcoming obstacles. The narrative concludes with the triumph of friendship as Gerda successfully frees Kay from his enchantment and returns home safely. Additionally, the source features a famous winter poem by Robert Frost and an educational section detailing various cold-weather sports.
