No! No! 20th century studios presents the most incredible survival story of the year. I think we'll help out, man! We'll fall on October 16th to survive the unthinkable, do the impossible. You're gonna become so dangerous that the predators can't help but let you go. We're gonna get out of here. We got it, folks! We got it, folks! No! We'll fall, we're at PD 13, and theaters on October 16th, get tickets now. This episode is brought to you by Google Chrome. You think you know a browser, but Gemini and Chrome? That's new. It can help you with practically anything on the web, like restoring a vintage motorcycle from a 50-page restoration block, or finally break down that long article you've had open for weeks. Gemini and Chrome is here for it. Ready to make anything online make sense? There's no place like Chrome. Check responses set up require compatibility and availability very 16+. The early seasons, stars and disappointments are beginning to look more closely. As we work through our first month of the NFL season,
but still, there's a lot to sort through to make sure those lineups are perfect. I'm John McRee, and for this episode of the IDP show, I'll be looking to do just that, going game by game, working through all of the relevant matchup data and information for our relevant IDPs, and making sure you guys can set the best lineups possible to close out month one of the NFL season. So let's get it! Alright, there's a lot to go through this week as always, but by weeks are starting next week, so that'll maybe save me a little bit of time. But I have a lot to say here as we work through these games for the most part. So hopefully again, I can help you guys make the best decisions possible to set those lineups for week four, and hopefully the fantasy gods are kind to us. But yeah, I'll put the timestamps in the episode description as always. You guys can bounce around, find the games that you're looking for. And if you do want to dig into the data and snaps and alignment data,
all that stuff yourself, you can check out the IDP report, which I'll put in the episode description. It not just has like a free waiver wire section in there, but also a breakdown from every single team, every IDP that went through the past week, and my analysis in there as well. So make sure you check that out, and I'll put my rankings in there as well. So if you do want to check those out, they'll be available to you. But let's get into it starting with Thursday night football as always an NFC or AFC North to show down between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns. And we'll start with the Steelers defensive line. I know we're all disappointed by the Steelers defensive line after a really down week against the Bengals and Joe Burrow last week. Alex Highsmith got shut out. TJ, what didn't really do anything? Nick Herbig was nowhere to be seen. I even came Heyward didn't really do much at all. So they kind of have to bounce back this week, right? Like I think so. At least what and highsmith at the very least, like the Browns offensive line as a whole has been good.
But the weak points there are at offensive tackle. And then obviously to Sean Watson will take sacks at an above average rate. So I'm happy to plug in TJ what Alex Highsmith give them another go this week as top 10 plays in a positive matchup. At linebacker, the the mirage of full time Peyton Wilson from week one is really beginning to fade. Unfortunately, he played just 70% of the snaps last week. Patrick Queen ended up with one of his better days last week. But we all know who that how that's going to go. We start to feel comfortable enough to start him. And then, you know, he'll pull an amber herd and shit the bed. That's just what he does, man. He's so mid. And obviously Patrick Graham is showing Patrick bias as well by leaving him as the lone full time. I'm not saying that the Steelers are cowards for not playing Peyton Wilson as a full time starter, but I'm not not saying that either. Right. So I know Mike McCarthy is an avid listener of the podcast. And if he wants to prove that he's not that list, he'll play Wilson more. But until then, unfortunately, just more of an LB three ish right now for both of these Steelers linebackers, but probably lower if we're being honest for Peyton Wilson because he has 70% isn't great.
The safeties for the Steelers have been pretty average as well, which is mostly disappointing for a Jacquan brisker who is getting really good usage in the box, but just not doing anything with it. I'm probably not treating him as like a strong start this week in a below average matchup, but this will probably be the game where he pops off, right. But no, just harder to trust him right now. And then Jalen Ramsey is getting decent enough usage at safety that you can plug him into your CB slot if you're in CB required leagues. And he's another one that isn't necessarily a must play every week by by any means for the Browns. We had a conversation about Jared first last week and him having to move into more of like a DL three range in the rankings because the first two games of the season for him were just so bad, like a really, really poor start in those first two. Week three was better. He actually had six pressures, including a QB hit in that one after just one pressure through the first two games combined. So like I said, on the recap show, there were signs of life at least, which is nice. That being said, I am going to have a hard time to trust him in lineups until we really see some consistent production there, right.
Like there's too many defensive linemen that are actually contributing right now to be waiting on Jared verse to kind of figure it out. So he'll remain in that DL three range right now. Meanwhile Mason Graham, his teammate, has been cooking so far this season for DT required leagues. He's coming off a two-sack game and looks great in year two. He's earned a spot in DT required lineups for sure. And even like DL required lineups, like I'd at least prefer him maybe a little bit oververse right now, which is wild to say three weeks into the season and considering how high I was on verse coming into the year. But hey, I believed in Graham as well, especially as like a positive regression candidate coming into the year. So there's that, I guess. As for the linebackers Carson Schwestinger is coming off a disappointing game in his own right. I know some have been disappointed by his start to the year as a whole. I'm not going to drag the guy for the first two weeks. He still attend tackles in each of those games. It's just that solo to assist ratio. That's kind of been buns. But last week was definitely a bigger problem. Right. So I'll hope to see him bounce back at some point. I don't know if it'll be this week because it is a below average tackle matchup. But at the same time, we're not going to just toss aside and every down linebacker three weeks into the season unless it's really bad.
And to be fair, there are a few of them this year that we'll talk about as we go through the show. But Schwest should be fine. I think I've moved him down to like an LB2 this week. But there's really not a lot of space between most of these every down linebackers. It's really just about matchup how they've produced so far and how much confidence. I guess I have in them to produce this week. So yeah, I'm fine with Schwestinger for now. And Quincy Williams, for example, like he's more of an LB4 defensive back for the Browns Grant LB and Ronnie Hickman are fine. I'm not expecting them to rack up like a ton of tackles. But kind of like with every down linebackers, every down safeties have a chance to fall into an intersection every once in a while. We saw it with Hickman last week, but not banking on that most weeks. And then Miles Hardin should get a decent enough workload as well this week to be like a usable CB streaming option. The Steelers rank eight and 11 personnel rate. So should be enough usage for Hardin to be productive if needed. All right. Oh, right. Yeah. Sunday international games are back. Yay. How annoying. I mean, exciting. No, but really these games suck. I hate the Sunday morning time slot. I think it's awful. I'm happy for the international crowd that you know gets to go watch these games and it's all about growing the game, etc.
That's that's great. And I'll just play it at the same time as the other early window games like whatever that that's my rant. I won't go too much into it. I'm mostly just upset because I'll miss the game since I have my son's hockey Sunday morning. So this is how I cope. But yeah, let's move on to the actual players and teams playing in this game. I'll shut the fuck up now. Indianapolis Colts and the Washington commanders. So Colts linebackers. We will start there. We saw a team Davis Gather played 100% of the snaps last week for the first time this season. We talked about how they were still taking them off the field some with even with the green dot in week two. But last week that was much more comforting to see. I know he didn't have the best game in week three for IDP, but we're also not banking on him to have like the best games. We he just needs to be good as one of kind of our free squares so far this season. He draws a nice match up this week. And I like him as like an LB2 in this spot if you haven't. If not, the rest of the Colts linebackers can be found picking dandy lines on the sidelines except for CJ Allen that MF can't be found anywhere except on the side of milk cartons.
So he's apparently dead to that whole organization defensive line. Unfortunately, Lai out to lots who got banged up last week, Mr. chunk of that game against the Texan. So that really kind of sunk his IDP potential. He and de Force Buckner do get a much better match up this week against Washington's poor offensive line. Marcus Marriota was decent and avoiding sacks last week, but definitely shouldn't be impossible for both of these guys to have usable IDP performances and a defensive back camp, I'm is really the only usable safety right now for indie AJ Halsey and hunter. There are rotating playing time in that other spot, which would should have just been one really nice IDP role like it was for Nick Ross last year, but no, of course not right Lou Anoromo hates IDP he can't stand it. He's a known IDPest and this just proves it. So buy them for deeper leagues Justin Wally is our CB required option that we can look at and he played just 59% of snaps in what should have been a good match up last week against the Texans.
The Texans decided that they were done with 11 personnel and played like less than half of their snaps and 11 personnel after being like I think they were second in the league in 11 personnel rate going into that week. So another good reminder not to trust small sample sizes, right. But anyways, this week the commanders are another one of those top 10 teams and 11 personnel rate so far heading into the week. So that'll at least keep Wally as playable for me this week for the commanders will start with their linebackers because unfortunately legal shanol is done for the season after on the undergoing next surgery. Hopefully we get a full recovery from him now. The only silver lining here is that we should feel much better about sunny styles like rest of season now at least I do because even when Frankie Louvue comes back, which could be this week the commanders shouldn't be able to rotate at the position like they were in week one because obviously they just have less bodies to do so right. So styles after I think a much more encouraging IDP performance in week three is definitely someone who is going to be able to do it. So for the safety group in Washington, Nick Cross didn't play last week because he had like internal injuries. I have no idea if he'll play this week again kind of the downside of, you know, recording this on a Wednesday morning injury report information is not very valuable. So I apologize to you guys in the in the future of Thursday and Friday, where maybe listening to this and have more information than I do right now and I'm going to be able to do it again.
Just wasting your time continuing to ramble here, but yeah if Cross plays, then I would be fine starting him if he doesn't play it was quan martin who replaced him last week alongside Jeremy Reeves. Martin actually playing 71% deep. So it wasn't like he stepped into cross's role exactly Reeves ended up playing 24% in the box and still 70% deep himself in we kind of saw this a little more with cross in the first two weeks where box usage was a bit higher than usual and I do know that's getting older, based on the same time. wasn't nearly as strong. So it really is kind of looking like a scheme thing here, at least so far, but I do wonder if with Leo Chanel out and maybe less base personnel with three linebackers on the field, if it means we do get to see Cross, get more work in the box now. It's just a theory and Cross has to get back healthy, but I'll keep an eye out for it for show. As for the defensive lineman for the commanders, No! No! 20th century studios presents the most incredible survival story of the year.
How did we help out there? We'll fall on October 16th to survive the unthinkable, do the impossible. You're gonna become so dangerous that the predators can't help but let you go. We're gonna get out of here. We gotta fall! We gotta fall! We'll fall, we did PD 13, and theaters on October 16th get tickets now. Okay, Cardinals Giants next in a normal time slot. We'll start with the Arizona linebackers and call me crazy, but I'd rather have Jack Gibbons than Mac Wilson right now. And yes, I realized that's not actually like a controversial statement, but it's more about Gibbons continuing in a 90% plus snapshot role this season and actually being pretty productive in that role. It's not been crazy by any means, but solid tackle rate and at least better than Mac Wilson and the snap difference is really kind of minimal there between the two. So Gibbons can be a solid play this week. No real concern about him and watch this be the big Mac Wilson week.
But no, we're not gonna believe in that focus. I'm trusting Gibbons over Mac Wilson right now. Defensive back, it was a down week for Buddha Baker in week three. It was an up week for Andrew Wingard, but I'm not worried about Buddha. He's gonna be a starter for us pretty much every week. The usage is great. It was last week as well. 52% of the snaps in the box. We love to see that will happily play him again this week as a top five safety. And Andrew Wingard can still be a perfectly fine like non shallow option. If if you need him, he's he's been good defensive line for the Cardinals. I should probably skip over this one as well, just because this group very much sucks. But they get a decent matchup against James. I just really have a hard time trusting anyone from this group. And I know like Walter Nolan truthers are in shambles right now to start the year because he's not producing at the same rate that he was on that small sample size as a rookie surprise. But if you must, I think if we're gonna give him one more week,
I think he at least has a good match up here to do. So like two of the three giants interior offensive linemen are very bad pass blockers. And maybe he can fall into something this week and we can start to feel better about him again. But not a great start to the year to say the least. And then Josh sweat has been awful. I think really it's one more game of him staying on our deeper rosters for depth only. And then if he does nothing, he's pretty much dropable moving on to the giants now. I'll start with their defensive line because unfortunately Brian Burns tore his ACL. He's done for the year. This is obviously a bummer also a bummer. How the did Abdul Carter get shut out against the Tennessee Titans last week playing 97% of the snaps. Like how is that even possible man? I think I've said it to a few people already this week, but that is probably the most shocking and disappointing outcome for me coming out of last week. Like if you told me Carter was gonna play all but a couple of snaps against the Tennessee Titan what Titans and Cam Warden not register a single IDP point.
I probably wouldn't believe it, but here we are. So anyways, now we have a tougher matchup against the Cardinals who have been decent at past blocking and limiting snack sack so far. I'm mostly trusting Carter. He's an edge two for me this week, but I'm hoping and praying for a bounce back mostly cave on Tibito should see an increased workload as well. Kind of going forward with Brian Burns out for the year. He's worth an ad for like non shallow formats mostly because defensive line backups to injured starters are usually trash. But in this case, Tibito at least has potential even if he doesn't have this massive game this week at linebacker, Arvel Reese had a nice game last week 13 total tackles. He draws an ideal matchup against the Arizona Cardinals who have allowed the most tackles to the position so far. Reese has been playing like a typical off ball linebacker role so far for this giants this season and it's helped him be a solid tackler especially last week. So he comes with DL eligibility on sleepers as well. So he's pretty much a locked in starter on that platform with his current usage.
The question now is whether the team decides to use Reese more on the edge and as a past Russia with Brian Burns out for the year. For now, we'll assume not until we actually see it. So he's still a very strong starter in a positive matchup for me this week as well as remain Edmunds Edmunds is a solid start to defense back. There was no Tyler newman last week that led to a shared role between Jason pinock and our Darius Washington. So if newman is out again, we'll just avoid the backups if he's back he's a fine option. And then Javon Holland somehow has a pick in all three games so far this year. At some point that's going to come to an end in the fact that he's playing mostly deep is probably going to cause a down game. But I guess you can keep riding the hot hand here. It's risky, but I get wanting to start him after he's again got an interception in every game this season. What else drew Phillips is somewhat interesting this week. He played a bigger role, a bigger snapshot last week because the Titans did play a lot of 11 personnel.
Cardinals are typically above average in that regards and he might line up a bit against Tramack bride as well. So I ended up being a nice match up for drew Phillips's IDP potential. Cardinals are also giving up the second most tackles per game to corner back so far as well. So like that for him going to the Rams and the Eagles now. I want to start with the linebackers for the Rams in case people didn't listen to the recap episode or missed it in last week's preview episode or rankings article. But I have some concerns about Nate Landman. These are mostly concerns about his ability to finish the year like as an LB1 or even as an LB2 not that he won't have those type of weeks. But I think there's more risk of them being consistent if that makes sense. And this basically stems from the Rams playing more zero linebacker looks like way more than any other team in the league. Like you might see it once or twice a month from some teams. The Rams the past two weeks have done it 16 times total. And again, it's not like these are killers for his IDP potential but every little bit counts.
And when he's playing like 89% of the snaps instead of 100% that could be the difference from LB1 or LB2 production or LB3 depending on what a player does with those extra snaps. And again, he can definitely still have big weeks. We see guys produce on 90% of snaps with tackles or things like that all the time. But for the most part, he'll be more of kind of an LB3 for me. And it just doesn't help this week that the Eagles have been a poor tackle matchup for linebacker so far defensive back for the Rams. Quentin Lake should be pretty much locked into all lineups almost every week. The usage is still really good. The production has been great. We're not really benching Lake. The interesting thing will be whether or not Cam Kinshens is back in the lineup because without him last week the Rams actually changed up their usage in the secondary. It basically forced Quentin Lake to go from playing primarily in the slot to getting more work deep, which isn't ideal but it's not the end of the world. And then Trent McDuffie then split his time from outside corner as to being like the team's primary slot that big.
So which is a good thing if he continues in that spot. We'll see if slash when Kinshens is back in the lineup and how that affects these Rams DBs in the rankings for me. But basically if Kinshens is back Lake is a high end DB one if Kinshens isn't back then lakes probably more of like a low end DB one still very startable. It's just really that's kind of the difference for me. And then the same thing with Trent McDuffie like if Kinshens is back then McDuffie is more of a fringe CB one CB two. If he's not back then McDuffie is more of like a high end CB one. So again, I'm recording this Wednesday morning. So this version of me past John it doesn't know S about F in terms of practice reports yet. So hopefully we get some clarity ASAP for the defensive line for the Rams nothing doing yet from Aaron Donald. But it's coming hopefully only a matter of time that being said he's still more of a DT two right now. Kobe Turner hasn't really been much better to be honest. So he'll probably be more in that DT two wish range for me as well this week.
And then Byron Young more as an edge to I'm not looking really to stream Josiah Stewart as much this week. Even though his snaps were great last week up over 70% he could just be more of a kind of a boom bus streaming option in better matchups. For the Eagles I know Cuperdigine hasn't been amazing for IDP just yet. But his usage remains really strong and in fact it's technically even better than it was last year since he's playing more safety instead of outside corner. And the fact that we can use him in CB slots in our rosters for CB required leagues means that that slight dip in production at least just becomes more tolerable for me. I really like the match up this week still he's going to be on the field for all of the snaps the Rams have been a good tackle matchup for defensive backs as a whole. So it should be a nicer Cuperdigine game I would think and I know they sound Kenny more this week as well. But I really don't think he'll factor in this week at all. We'll see if he ever gets like any kind of starting role if they decide to switch things up a bit. But I'm not really concerned about that just yet.
And then Queen Young Mitchell he had a really nice game last week. But I just have a harder time believing in that being his norm and just more positive variance in his favor this past week. For linebacker Zach Bond has been getting just normal off ball linebacker usage is not working off the edge is not blitzing a ton. It's just been surprisingly bland usage for bond in Fangeo's defense thus far. And I'm not really complaining because that's a good thing for just consistent IDP value. He's in that LB1 conversation for me rest of season as long as that usage sticks. So I'd like to see that. And Jihad Campbell has been really solid as well his usage is maybe like a little bit more exotic. I shouldn't exotic it's nothing crazy. He played much more on the edge in week three, but it really wasn't much before that it's not yeah not exotic it's about his exotic as me putting like plum sauce on my rice which it's a little different but not enough to hurt him too much. So yeah still like Jihad Campbell. I don't know what that example was of exotic I don't know what I'm saying.
Yeah we're less than 25 minutes in I'm already talking shit let's let's lock back in here defense of line for the Eagles Jonathan Bernard return to the lineup in week three. So he played just 25% of the snaps I'm not sure if their plan is to continue easing him back in but I'd really rather just wait and see here especially since Matthew Stafford other than last week really has done a decent job but avoiding sex so worth waiting on Bernard if you're asking me. The other defensive lineman Jalen Carter J. Lex Hunt Nolan Smith they're not necessarily going to be high in the ranks like I said it's it's more of a Stafford thing but he did show some tendency to take sex last week against Denver. And that online isn't really great for the Ram so they could be fine options if you need them and then Jordan Davis is more of like a tackle heavy scoring option for D.T. required leagues but for what it's worth the Rams have been poor match up for defensive line tackles so not as interested in big JD all right off to Texas for a Texas showdown between the cowboys and the Texans let's start with the cowboys linebacker.
So this is really kind of another situation that will likely need more information on before acting but I guess I could lay out the two paths here so if Demarvian overshown is back this week I'm likely benching Jason barham in week one what we saw was Demarvian overshown where the green dot D winters was the LB2 and barham was only used on base stands now it's possible that barham has earned a bigger role with good play over the last two weeks but where maybe they switched things up. But we just won't know until we actually see it right so what we have seen is barham's role more diminished with overshown in the lineup plus the other sign is that the cowboys haven't given barham even a full time role even with the green dot so to me that shows a little uncertainty in the cowboys and how much they trust their rookie again I'm not saying it's for sure going to shake out this way but just kind of reading the tea leaves here it's better to play it safe right like we've already had a few of these situations. So far this year and pretty much every time playing it safe has been the right move so slow and steady wins the race and then honestly I might not even be too excited about playing overshown in it in his first game back either right like Mr. glass may still be recovering and even he might be eased in so it could be a weird week for the cowboys linebackers but we'll see now if overshown is out again this week then barham is like a fine LB3 slash DL2 on sleeper still not playing in every down role like I said earlier they they could be in the same way as the other one.
So I think they do rotate him more than enough to damper his value but yeah LB3 to forish range for me this week the cowboys defensive line Donovan as a Rockwell has seemingly turned back into a pumpkin after his big week one and the underlying pass rush metrics like they haven't been great so I'm fine to move off of him for now as a potential starting option the snaps are perfectly fine like there's plenty of volume based producers that we can turn to in better matchups is all and then Quinnan Williams another one that just hasn't done so much. I'm going to go to the squad I'll be moving him down the ranks as well it's just like a bunch of turds on the cowboys defensive line right now and I know there are a lot of cowboys fans out there and probably listen to this so I'm sorry I don't hate the cowboys like a lot of people do I just am really disappointed with this defensive line right now it is been mid AF and I don't want to mess with it in week four in IDP defensive backs though it was a down week for Caleb downs but hopefully he'll be back to Caleb ups this week. Let me see what I did there guys. All right no the usage the usage remains excellent for Caleb downs like I even like the match up here even though I think I mentioned it earlier last week the Texans went from being like the second heaviest 11 personnel offense through the first two games to just 49% in week three but even though downs is like the primary slot he's not leaving the field so it doesn't make a huge difference for him he should still be in a great spot to produce and then the other safety spot I mean Milly Cookers out
Jalen Thompson is out PJ lock is out it's really just Markees Bell left standing in that other safety spot I they brought somebody else in as well one you Thomas I think it was so they're down bad at safety right now but deep leagues you might consider Markees Bell he's mostly going to play deep though going to the Houston Texans will Anderson and Daniel Hunter remain locked into line ups what analysis do you need there nothing you're starting them moving on linebackers as these are all shy year left last week's game for a bit with an injury but came back in and finished the game so he should be fine this week seems like he'll it'll be another week of a Z is all shy here and Jake Hansen the cowboys have been a below average match up so far for linebackers but both Hansen and a Z is all shy year are full time guys so I'm fine with them in non shallow formats defense a back I don't know what's going on with Jalen Petri and why he's really done nothing with like prime usage like there's a few of these guys to start the year and odds are at least a couple of them are going to pop off and be solid options rest of season I tend to believe Petri will be one of them but so far it's just been not great the cowboys are a below average match up for for DB's I've got Petri as a DB to this week purely based on the usage and I know
read blank and ship has been a bit better but he's not playing a full time role and is also playing more deep so he'll come back down to earth for sure I'm not really trusting him but yeah disappointing for Petri so far and then CB required leads were still rolling with camarie last year a ronso as a solid option OK on to the Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens will start with the source of language that is the Tennessee Titans and specifically their their linebackers so I already have ranted and raved about this situation a plenty so far I'm not going to do it again if you listen to last week's preview show or the week before's or this week's recap show you'll have heard me talk about it it's gross where not starting with the Cedric the Gray until we actually see him take over a full time role or at least surpass Cody Barton snaps because we obviously can't trust the Tennessee coaching staff to do the right thing so for us we should be looking at this situation with skepticism right like that they will ever
figure it out and only until we actually see it with our own eyes should we put be putting gray back in line ups like 47% of the snaps last week Barton played 69% I'm so disgusted I won't even acknowledge that percentage with a nice so instead we'll treat the Antill Anthony Hill Jr. as our new king happily start him and pretend this other situation doesn't exist I mean maybe they use gray more to help like defend against Lamar Jackson and Derek Henry this week because it sure is hell won't be Barton making those tackles but I don't know that's that might be me just inhaling the copium here but I'm not going to get sucked into it we'll just wait and see I defense a back I defense a back a money hooker and Kevin Winston Jr. have been really good really good to start the year really like the usage and the production from both of these guys nothing really concerning about the matchup either I think we'll get some good box snaps from this great safety group right like I said with trying to stop Lamar Jackson and and King Henry like there will be safeties rotating down to support that run defense so should be opportunities here for both of those guys CB required leagues this doesn't look like a good Marcus Harris matchup the Ravens rank
26th and 11 personnel rate this season at less than half of their offensive snaps but also the Ravens are giving up the fewest tackles per game to the cornerback so easy to avoid this Tennessee cornerback group this week at defensive line for the Titans Jeffrey Simmons still the only one I want here the rookie Kelldrick Falk got a sack last week but he's not playing nearly enough to trust in line apps Simmons at least gets a week offensive line to work against and at the very least there should be plenty of tackle opportunities for both of them so he's a top tier start for me in DT required leagues and a DL to otherwise for the Baltimore Ravens tray Hendrickson will start with their defensive line yet because tray Hendrickson hasn't quite looked like his usual self through the first three games like he's getting pressure but the underlying metrics are much closer to average then like his usual elite self from like the past five or six years that we've seen him but he got the sack against the Saints and week two but nothing in like tougher matchup against Indy and Dallas so now he gets Tennessee who somehow so far have actually not been a great matchup for pass rushers the offensive line has played pretty well at least most of them the exception being the left tackle Dan Moore junior who so far is the only Titans pass blocker charged with allowing a sack this season per pf f and he owns the worst pass blocking grade on the team with a 58.4 now
cam ward himself has been sack five times which is more on him though somehow didn't allow a single sack against the giants last week I won't get back into that so he's definitely been slightly better at avoiding sacks than last year but there's still room to take advantage of this matchup if your Hendrickson specifically who will line up almost exclusively against Dan Moore junior at left tackle so I'm willing to give him another shot this week as an edge to and then Tavius Robinson is like at least a nice volume based option in those non shallow leagues as well we also saw nomdie madabouk a return last week he looked good enough to be a DT two in lineups as needed so the snapshot was pretty close to his norm in his first game back from next surgery so that was encouraging if you do need him at linebacker I'm starting to get back into that. I know Tennessee hasn't been an amazing matchup just yet but broke one is still an LB one this week as for Trenton Simpson and or Teddy Buchanan I still think I'd rather avoid this situation it's definitely one that should be more easily affordable since it's a poor matchup but with Buchanan playing just three snaps last week I'd rather wait and see if they ramp him up or if Simpson is going to stay as LB two so for now we wait DB Kyle Kyle Hamilton is in for sure again matchup
doesn't really matter for the hammer we're not benching him where we have him Marlon Humphrey is really the only other option but not a must start in CB required leagues in a poor matchup all right next up it is GB versus TB and we'll start with the Packers and their linebackers because Edren Cooper left the Thursday night game with a concussion it's definitely possible that he clears protocol in that kind of 10 day window that it is but it's not a guarantee so definitely pay attention to the situation because if Cooper looks like he'll be out definitely grab Isaiah McDuffie as a potential fill in McDuffie should play a near every down roll if Cooper is out and this has typically been a good matchup for linebackers now Baker may feel isn't playing in this one so that changes the offense for sure but coming into this week the Bucks are were at least giving up the fifth most hackles per game to the linebacker position. Isaiah Franklin is the other linebacker if you remember him yeah he's mostly just okay as a starting option like he did at least hit double digit tackles for the first time this season last week so that was nice to see because if you remember last year it took him until week 10 to get double digit tackle so technically it is a better start for Zier than last year but yeah I'm an optimist guys you see I the glasses always have full over here all right Packers defensive line and this is the best way to get the best matchup ever.
It's definitely a group that will put anyone's optimism to the test Lucas fitness we talked about him last week after his big week two game and how we'll see if he can give us more than one game with a plus 75 pass first grade this season week three he did it 75.9 he beats the allegations and hopefully can build some kind of rest of season momentum now I know he only had one pressure which was a cubie hit in that last game no sacks but to be fair we did talk about how Michael Penex Jr has been better than most. At avoiding sacks in his career that proved to be the case on Thursday last week so Van nes gets Jeylon Daniels this week they make her may fields backups no idea what to expect from this cat but he will at least be protected by Tristan Worfs and Luke Cadeckey at those offensive tackle spots so that should make things a little tougher for Van nes but not impossible he's still in that deal three range for me right now defensive back a key Sean Nixon is in for CBR card leagues for sure Evan Williams and Xavier McKinney they're in like a larger group of like full-time safeties that I guess I just have wavering confidence in as starters like they can be fine they might not be but mostly I guess I lean toward them being fine yeah that's going to make you guys feel good about having them on your rosters right but no really they they are fine like there's nothing wrong with them as as options is all I'm saying but we also just don't know what this Tampa Bay offense is going to look like without Baker so we'll see for the
the box the linebackers please hopefully we can get Josiah Trotter back really hoping this was just the one-week absence like I hate getting teased with like a new young star and then losing him after you know for multiple weeks and especially if we're going to replace him with the the dynamic duo of servosky adenos and Christian Rose boom like we do not want another week of that crap for anyone that did miss it for Trotter's vacant snaps were shared by servosky adenos and Christian Rose boom so don't start either one if Jay trotts is out if the trotts come back then he's going to be in most of our line ups otherwise it's just Alex and Zaloni for defensive line Ruben Bayne missed last week not sure if he'll miss another one here or not but it would be unfortunate for him since this Packer's offensive line has been abysmal like it could be the one for him to kind of finally take advantage of and show some signs of life instead I'm mostly just watching y'all y'all Diabbie to see if he can do anything because he's been really bad so far as well just a 45.8
pass rush grade through the first three games of the season we know he's typically better than that but rough start here so if he can't take advantage of this matchup then it's no no Diabbie for me for a while so he'll be a deal three this week but could fall if he's should again they they really should be playing David Walker more he's literally the only one showing any signs of life and you know I guess Vita van Aishan Robinson as well but like as a pass rusher walker has been good like he's just not getting enough work to trust for IDP even when Ruben Bain was out last week he played just 32% of the snaps defensive back let's talk about Taiki Smith and Antoine Windfield junior for a second because I know IDPers are frustrated by the slow start from both of these guys Taiki especially and the usage for both again like as I keep saying it really hasn't shifted all that much from last year like they're both getting deployed very similarly Taiki is still the one getting slightly more work near the line of scrimmage but right now he's just been giving us this kind of average Joe production and another guy who has gotten off to a really slow start that probably shouldn't be based on the usage and
again we're still early into the season so like by week 12 we could be looking back at this and laughing and saying why the hell did we ever worry about this man he is cooking but that could be the case with like several of these under performing DB so far so I just kind of end up liking Taiki as one of the guys that I think can come out of that slump but we'll see and both guys are just more DB2 types right now but I get it if you don't trust trust them like there are lots of options at the position and then for CB required leagues kionte scott gets an okay matchup against the pack who are slightly above average and 11 personnel so he's really just an okay CB required option for me here all right jaguars and the Bengals are next it's been quiet back to back weeks for Josh Heinz Allen after a big week one performance and I think he's more than due to get back on track in a strong match up here in week four so the nice thing is that Heinz Allen will mostly be avoiding the right tackle Amarius Mims who hasn't allowed a single pressure this season so sorry to Trayvon Walker and then he'll line up almost exclusively against the left tackle
Josh Heinz Allen will Orlando Brown Jr so Brown has actually allowed eight total pressures three sacks through three games Joe borough has also owns the seventh highest pressure to second version rate this year the last two games have been pretty bad for Heinz Allen but he should be in a much better position to produce this week so he's still in that DL one conversation for me I like the matchup enough this week and then Trayvon Walker unfortunately he does get the tougher matchup against Amarius Mims but Joe borough does help this not be like a terrible matchup since he will take sacks even though he didn't really last week he can only keep that up for so long it's it's part of his lore at this point Joe borough will take sacks so we'll we'll maybe see if that helps Walker as like a DL three at linebacker FOIA has been really kind of useless the past two weeks for IDP he had a pick in week one which helps kind of cover up the lower tackle numbers but seven or fewer tack fewer tackles in all three games this season he's still a full time player but really looking more like a lower end starting option right now
we'll see if he can bounce back and what is at least an above average matchup here against the Bengals but still nothing to get too excited about he's he's had two games to where the starters have been pulled for garbage time so that does play a small part in like the lower production but this one should at least be more competitive to allow for a hundred percent of snaps for FOIA and then ventral miller is doing a little more with less right now but that's kind of the problem is that he's not playing full time snaps he's hovering in that 70 to 75 percent snap range every week so it just becomes that much harder to trust him but he's a good option for deeper leagues but if you do have every other every down options odds are that you kind of have to roll with those guys first at DB Travis Hunter got his first pick last week but still just a handful of snaps on offense no touches on offense at each of the past two weeks so he's more of like a CB2 or DB5 until we see otherwise because he's not really playing an every down role on defense either just really
disappointing stuff from the Jaguars on this one it's still again very early in the year but yeah discouraging to say the least and then Antonio Johnson Eric Murray are just okay starting safety options the usage is very average the production as well so not a lot of must starts on this Jags defense right now okay for the Bengals will start with their linebackers bear Carter and Maturest Knight Jr both are essentially full time options and that should be a case the case again this week Jacksonville isn't the greatest tackle matchup for linebackers so far but we've gotten every down role for Carter who has been a fine option and like a 90 percent role for night who has been pretty efficient I'm perfectly fine trusting these guys just depending on my other options defensive line for the Bengals Dexter Lawrence finally had a big day really nice to see that after a couple quiet games with the Bengals but Jaguars aren't like a bad pass rush matchup matchup so he's definitely startable in D.T. required leagues and then boy and Moffe still an option or at least the top option for the Bengals but really mostly just for deeper leagues and then defensive back DAX Hill has been a bit up and down for IDP to start the season
that's honestly mostly just the nature of playing outside corner so not a big surprise there but this week I think he should be in a much better spot he draws a good matchup against the Jaguars who have allowed the fourth most tackles per game to cornerbacks this season he also should get a little bit more work in the slot as well because Jalen Davis who has been the primary nickel defender for the Bengals he picked up a hamstring injury last week so he'll he I think he got placed on IR actually so this will give Hill more opportunities to just be closer to the action in a good matchup already and really just one of the stronger options for CB required formats right now and then Jordan battle has been great as well we'll keep starting him Brian Cook got injured last week he was replaced by Kyle Dugger in that deep safety role not sure if Cook will be out long but Dugger could be an option for for deeper leagues only all right Jets and Bears are next we'll start with the Jets defensive line because I'm assuming we'll be getting another week of case
kingdom at quarterback for the Bears he didn't take a sack last week against the Eagles which was pretty impressive I'm still only mostly looking at David Bailey for for the Jets right now for their defensive line he's been good to start the year and getting plenty of playing time so he'll line up mostly against Darnell right at right tackle which isn't the easiest matchup so I've got Bailey is more of kind of an edge to slash DL3 this week but have to figure case kingdom won't remain unsackable forever at linebacker Demario Davis has been good he got a sack last week as he was blitz just a little bit more than the first two weeks with the team it's not a ton though which is a nice change for him so I've got him as a high end LB3 Jamie inshurewood who has been just okay more of kind of a mid range LB3 and then defensive back Andre sisco has popped off for two strong games in a row now remember he's filling in for mink of its Patrick so I think a lot of his value will depend on whether or not minka is back this week if he is we shouldn't be playing Andre sisco
it's definitely possible that sisco played well enough to start over like dain belton once mink of its Patrick is back but that's not what we saw when all were healthy so have to be cautious with this one if we can and then for the Bears we'll start with their defensive line because the Jets offensive line did look a bit more human last week and gino is once again welcoming the sacks after he did take one in week one he's now got the fifth high his pressure to sack and version rate in the league so good to see the old gino back good news for Montess wet as well he's going to be high end edge two for me this week and then even dayo oday ingbow as like a streaming option has been solid Austin Booker in a similar boat like the bears are playing all three of these guys with oday ingbow getting more work on the inside so I don't mind the streaming potential of this bears defense of line at least in deeper formats at linebacker though tj edwards and devon bush have been really quiet in the tackle department edwards got a pick last week which helped cover up the fact that he had just three total tackles the bears
defense is one of the most man heavy units in the league right now and we're really starting to see that sap the tackle efficiency of tj and and devon bush like they're still out there so like we saw last week like there's potential for pass breakups and interceptions to help kind of close that gap a little bit but I worry more about the baseline production for these two which has me definitely lower on them relative to other full-time linebackers and it's a better tackle matchup this week too so that should give us a better idea of at least whether or not these guys can be trusted in good matchups but I do still have a harder time putting them in right now until we see it at defense a back Dylan Thiniman has been hot to start the year he's playing we played mostly deep last week but that helped him also get a pick his usage is a little bit more volatile depending on the matchup so he'll have his weeks where he's playing up more near the line of scrimmage he'll have his weeks where he's playing a little bit more deep so with the jets being like a more pass heavy offense that might not be this week that he gets a
lot of snaps in the box but at the same time the jets are also allowing the most tackles per game to the safety position so very happy to keep Dylan Thiniman in line-ups this week and the other thing to keep an eye on here in the the Bears defensive back situation was that they actually initially kind of changed up who their primary slot defender was going to be because Cam Lewis actually started to play more in the slot over Malik Muhammad where Muhammad moved exclusively to the outside but then what happened was Cam Lewis I think he suffered like a non-contact injury late in that game so I think he's probably done once that happened Muhammad moved back into that slot role but he also stayed on in non-nickel situations so this could be a situation now where Malik Muhammad his usage allows him to be the primary nickel defender but also play a hundred percent of snaps much like what we see with Chris Johnson in Miami like that would make him a locked in CB required options for sure all right we got an AFC East matchup next New England Patriots Buffalo
Bills Patriots defensive line I'm not sure if Dremont Jones will be back this week so it's possible we get another week of rookie Gabe Ackis and Ackis has been really good so far like he's had at least a half sack in each of his first three games like it's obviously going to be a very tough streak to keep going here against Josh Allen and the Bills but with Dremont Jones and Harold Landry out there's plenty of playing time for him to come through so he's only going to be a deeply gopchant if you really need him but he was at least kind of giving worth giving a shout out to this week at linebacker Robert Splane has really done nothing so far this year he's been a pile on out there Robert Spine Blonde no nah no no not him right we have a lot of these drought so far this season and then tackle rate for the linebacker position is a little down to start the year but this has definitely happened before and we'll expect these things to kind of normalize as the year goes on unfortunately Christian Ellis laid an egg last week after a big week two performance I remember he is getting blitzed a little bit more he's getting some more work on the edge so that
does create a little bit more boom bust to his game but he's playing a full time role and he still a fine deeper league option as needed at defensive back Marcus Jones had a nice week three thanks to an intersection but we're not trusting him for the most part he's not even doing much as like a punter kick return or whatever he's doing and his snaps on defense are very much typical of like a part-time nickel corner right he played just 58% of the snaps last week and now he's going against the bills who rank 29th in 11 personnel rate coming into this game so not trusting Marcus Jones he will be on benches for me for the bills I mean how do we not start with Gregory the man Russo he's edge one for me this week because I honestly I just don't know how we possibly sit him after the start to the year that he's had do I expect him to you know keep this torrent pace at two sacks per game where he's on pace for 36 sacks on the season no of course not he's going to chill out at some point but right now he is basically the hottest hand in the league and we're just leaving him in our line up he's going to line up almost exclusively against the right tackle Morgan Moses which is
better than Will Campbell at left tackles been really good to start the year and then Drake may has been allowing sacks so still love Russo this week again especially after overcoming a tough matchup last week against the chargers offensive tackles linebacker I gave torel Bernard like just the tiniest bit of praise last week for being better than disappointing through the first two week and then of course he goes out and has his worst game of the season that that'll really teach me for using positive reinforcement on mid IDPs but no he he should be fine here it's a good enough matchup that he should get his opportunities it's kind of the same thing though as in Jacksonville where the part time guy is doing more with less like that's what we're seeing with Dorian Williams but Dorian is much riskier than even like a ventral miller because as efficient as Williams has been as a tackler he too is just a part time player and playing often fewer than three quarters of the snaps most weeks so very difficult to trust him defensive back there there's nobody all that exciting here for the bills like coy bishops usage has been really good he even played 50% of his
naps in the box last week he's just doing nothing with those opportunities so a low end starter for me at best this week and then johnsy gardener johnson he had the pick last week which helped his day but he's playing mostly deep and hasn't been great overall either so all of these guys are really just options in in deep reliefs right Miami and Minnesota next we'll start with the Miami linebackers shadow Jordan Brooks for having a nice tackle game in week three it obviously can't be easy living in the shadow of the rod father but you know Brooks he will have his games and he's where he's looking like his old tackling self but yeah Jacob Rodriguez Jordan Brooks both solid starts again this week even in a below average matchup we've got a really sick interception from Rodriguez last week like the guy just does it all folks he is him and then a defensive back uh Chris Johnson had a bounce back game last week as we trusted in we talked about that after a quiet week two where the starters like they sat in garbage time we out of yada johnson is still an every down cornerback and playing in the slot as needed so we'll continue to love that for CB required leagues
and then we also saw Dante trader junior get back his starting job next to Michael taft trader actually played an every down role and it was a good one as well I think it was 46% of his snaps in the box which is what helped him kind of lead the team in tackles last week taft played 29 percent so it seems like trader could get the more ideal usage going forward which we love so he'll definitely be a starting option it's not the best matchup for safety's this week but he's also not like a high-end starter but he definitely has that potential so he should be rostered at least in in most formats right now and for this Miami defensive line honestly another group that deserves to be dismissed because they have not been good like that's not a huge surprise considering there's no real stars here and that includes chop Robinson like through his first two games he's looking more like the chop that we saw last year opposed to year one so he's on fraud watch for sure as this former first round pick who is only flashed as a rookie for Minnesota their defensive line have been anything but frauds Dallas Turner and Andrew van Gainkel continue to find ways to be
productive they're getting a ton of snaps blitzing a bunch coming up with big plays like they're thriving in this Brian floor as defense and now they get Malik Willis who owns one of the more advantageous pressure to sack conversion rates in the league and a really bad pass blocking unit they will be locked into starting lineups for sure and then linebacker two like even Blake Cashman Eric Wilson Wilson is sure he's more of a boom bust option because his usage on the edge and as a blitzer is so much higher than the average full-time linebacker but this is the kind of matchup that we should expect that boom week even after hitting one last week as well so and then Cashman has just been rock solid so he'll remain an LP one and then defensive back Josh Mattelis is a fine safety option even he had like a half sack last week but playing mostly deep so usually these below average matchups I'm not going to be too excited about these guys like Mattelis and then Byron Murphy Jr. he really let us down last week just one assisted tackle in what was an ideal matchup for him or at
least we thought so like the usage was there he was getting targeted he basically never left the field but one of the big problems last week was that the box went from being the most 11 personnel heavy offense in the league through the first two games at 84% to just 36% in 11 personnel in week three which was a massive dropout off and undoubtedly had an effect on Murphy's production so this week Murphy gets the dolphins who are about league average in 11 personnel but he also again doesn't leave the field so still a fine option in CB required leagues but the tackle matchup isn't just quite as good it really big let down last week by Murphy so hopefully he could bounce back all right Bronx and Niners next we'll start with Denver's defensive line because Brock Purdy is the only full-time quarterback who is not allowed a sack through the first three games of the season so far now this Denver defensive line did look much better last week specifically Nick Benito who we talked about because the underlying metrics were there for him he just wasn't
getting any sack luck at least through the first two games he was able to get Stafford last week which is nice to see him overcome a slightly tougher matchup so far this season the 49ers have been the toughest matchup for past rushers obviously with nobody getting a sack on Purdy yet but left tackle Trent Williams might miss this game I haven't heard much but he did get hurt last week I think was a neck injury if that's the case then things look much better for Nick Benito to be the first to sack Brock Purdy this season if Trent Williams play though I'll definitely like Benito less it's just more about the matchup here than anything else but Benito still a deal too just on the lower end right now and then the defensive tackles Zach Allen and even Malcolm Roach both have been great to start the year again this matchup is a brutal one but I don't think we'll really be benching Allen in DT required formats at this point just depending on who your other options are and then Roach is at least a solid depth option for for those in need in DT required leaks linebacker Kingleton has been okay he remains a fine start just in sternad played just 66% of the
snaps last week after 90% something like that the week before we knew this would happen which is why we weren't going to get excited about his snap share he's really just a very very deep league option only and then defensive back telling ohu Fonga went off last week with a couple of picks one of which went for a touchdown yet at a sack in there as well so his usage has been solid and slightly better than Brandon Jones though both guys can be used interchangeably this is one of the better tackle matchups for safety so far this season so definitely happy to ride the hot hands of who Fonga and Jones here the matchup isn't ideal for Riley Moss this week but he should still get enough targets although somehow Patrick Sir Tan saw it like nearly twice as many targets as Moss last week so you don't see that too often but definitely not the norm and then we're not messing with Jacquan Mcmillan this week 49ers played the third lowest rate of 11 personnel in the league so we'll probably see another like 50 to 60% of snaps for Mcmillan which I don't want in my lineups for the 49ers defensive line I doubt Nick Boasa comes back this week and if this that's
the case then there's really nobody worth starting here in a tough matchup like I know the Bronco's offensive line hasn't been great so far but they still got Garrett Bowles that left tackle who has been a wall and the rest of that group is more than capable of bouncing back especially against a really weak pass rush unit assuming no Nick Boasa again for San Fran at linebacker Fred Warner is staying in our lineups even in a poor matchup on paper Warner has been great doesn't deserve to be benched we'll see if Drake Greenlaw is healthier not he left last week's game with an injury and was replaced by Garrett Wallow to close that one out so the rookie Jaden Dugger he stayed as the base personnel Albee 3 so he didn't move up the depth chart with Greenlaw out honestly I'm probably not messing with any of the non-Fred Warner linebackers for the 49ers and this one just because it's a bad matchup like deep leagues can always take a shot on Garrett Wallow if Greenlaw is out but that's about it and even if Greenlaw plays like he's not been a full-time linebacker so he too is just a deep option then defensive back we're probably looking at another mid-updened stout game
this week unfortunately like the Broncos are about average in 11 personnel rate so snaps won't be ideal unfortunately which is a bummer at safety we saw Marcus sigil give up some of his snaps to Malik Mustafa last week it wasn't like a lot but definitely noticeable where sigil played 84% of the snaps Mustafa played 21% I didn't see anything injury related there so it's possible that the team might be shifting back to Mustafa now that he's healthy again we'll see I would probably avoid this group if you can Jaiya Brown is probably the safest one if you have to play someone right chargers and seahawks next so start with the chargers defense of line we had a nice tuli tuli pelotu game last week the seahawks their offensive line hasn't been great but with Sam d'Arnold back that does make things tougher so d'Arnold has done a nice job avoiding sacks in the small sample that we've seen him so far this year I'm still playing tuli as an edge too because the volume is there and this offensive line will let him through but there's not much else
for the chargers that I'm really trusting here like Cleo Mack for deeper leagues but I would like to see mezador cut into his snap share more and more as the year goes on because I think he's looked alright at linebacker so dianne henley ended up having a nice game last week mostly due to a couple fumble recoveries but he was making some tackles as well unfortunately that concerning usage that we talked about where they are taking him off the field for certain rundowns continued where played just 88% of the total snaps and then 76% of the team's run defense snaps now just because he had a good game last week doesn't mean he'll be able to consistently overcome that usage every week and for the most part I'm expecting him to not overcome that usage which is why he's like a high end lb4 for me again this week defense back d'Arnold james played every snap with his wrecking ball hand and his usage remained as good as it's been so that was promising to see unfortunately just four tackles in that one so we'll give him another chance in a in a great matchup for tackle potential Seattle's allowing the fourth most tackles per game to safeties but
if he's going to be hampered as a tackler by that injury and if the tackles aren't there again then it does become a concern so we'll see how things go for d'Arnold and then oh yeah Sega Genesis Smith I know had a couple picks last week but he's playing a shared role with the other safeties there I yeah two picks last week I think it was about two-thirds of the snaps for Sega Genesis last week which we're not trusting in lineups at this point for the Seattle Seahawks we'll start with their linebackers because it's a nice matchup here for Ernest Jones and Drizzy Drake Thomas with the chargers giving up the seventh most tackles per game to linebacker so far Ernest is an lb1 for me this week Thomas is more of a deeply gopchene he played just 83% of the snaps last week so a little more fluctuation there which I'd wondered would be the case if as we got healthier safeties for Seattle specifically Nick M&Wari as his usage ramps up and we'll see if you know Julian love and Tio Cotta are back this week but even still they played AJ Finley and
Rodney Thomas every snap last week so they could be leaning into more db's once all the safeties are healthy which will likely cut into Drake Thomas's workload probably more than anyone and I guess we'll talk about those db's because Nick M&Wari even with Julian love and Tio Cotta out last week he was still eased into the lineup so he was also dealing with hamstring injury early in the game so he did come out for a bit but he was able to finish the game but even before that he wasn't playing a full-time role so Seattle clearly doesn't feel he's ready to take on a full workload yet or at least they weren't last week which we warned about in last week's show and this week I'm sure you know if he's practicing fully that he'll ramp up a little more but I'm still not treating him as like the locked in db1 that we drafted him to be I'd rather see it for sure so if you listen last week you avoided a dud let's continue to be patient here again I think his usage will be better this week but he's still more of a db3 for me right now until we know for sure for the defensive line this is a better matchup for the interior defensive lineman more so
than the edges for Seattle which are rotating a little more anyways but Leonard Williams remains a great TT required starter and a solid DL starter Byron Murphy slightly less so but still fine and then deeper leagues dare call to Marcus Lawrence and Uchena and Wozu like they're playing musical chairs over there right now or who's going to lead the group in snaps or production hall has been the best of the bet the bunch so far but he's also not always getting the most snaps of the bunch so deep leagues only with this rotation all right aFC West showdown now between two undefeated teams in the chiefs and the Raiders will start with the chiefs defensive backs because Jaden Hicks has been really good for IDP so far but it's possible we get Chamari Conner back this week it seemed like he was close last week but they opted to sit him for another week so we'll keep an eye on this and if Conner is out again then Hicks is definitely an option getting good work in the box and making the most of it so far but if Conner is back then I'm definitely not starting Jaden Hicks
and honestly probably not starting Conner either in his first game back just in case he's back in so just be cautious with this situation if you have either guy right now and then Lajerius need I think remains a solid CB required option the Raiders do play the lowest rate of 11 personnel in the league but I think we see Sneed line up more against Brock Bauer's and or Michael Mayors this week for those slot snaps to stay pretty strong I'm expecting about 75% of snaps for him this week and obviously most of that in the slot and in the box for him to still be a CB required option at linebacker Nick Bolton remains a top option the Raiders have allowed the third most tackles per game to the linebacker position this season and Bolton is one of the better tacklers at the position so he's in all lineups for me this week and then even Drew Trankwell should be a solid option if you need him defensive line George Carloftus continues to kind of be unlucky in the Saved column he's playing enough and well enough to get home it just hasn't happened so far he at least made up for it with an interception last week I'm still trusting him as a DL2
even in a below average matchup and then for the Raiders I mean they're they're linebackers Nekobi Dean has been on fire to start the year nobody should have to convince you to start him he's now gets the second best tackle matchup for linebackers this season he's a top five play for me this week for sure Kuei Walker also remains a fine starting option even though he's been outshined by Nekobi Dean so far the snaps are there the matchup is right defensive line max crossby is going to be a starter pretty much every week the the snaps and the potential remain just too high to pass up even in a tougher matchup against Mahomes after him though there's nobody that I really want to trust on the Raiders defensive line like I know Malcolm Coons has played pretty well but until I think we see a better snapshot it's harder to trust these guys for me outside of very deep leagues he's still behind Quitty Pay in terms of playing time so that's really the biggest issue for me for Malcolm Coons but we'll keep an eye on him because he has looked good for defense a back Jeremy Chinn is in no problems with him in this matchup he's a top 10 play
for me this week we'll see if trade in Stukes is back or if it's another week of Isaiah Pullemau but that one really only matters for deep leagues to Ron Johnson I would assume should still get a fine enough snapshot as the nickel lining up against Travis Swift to be a startable CB required option all right on to Sunday night football finally I know these episodes are long I appreciate you guys bearing with me as I ramble on I don't expect anyone to listen to these episodes in their entirety that's what the timestamps are for but you know by weeks again coming up soon that that'll hopefully cut down the time but anyways lions panther Sunday night football defensive line for the lions Hutchison we're not taking him out of lineups DJ Wannem had a nice week last week he's more of a volume dependent play though at linebacker we we've been talking about it but Jack Campbell's slow start is it's annoying there's no doubt about that but like I said on the recap show and I think it wrote about in the IDP report I'm not overly concerned as much as I am just kind of frustrated through the first three games like he is playing more than enough and he's not missing
tackles really to say that it's something that he can control it's more just been bad luck so far that the plays haven't gone in his direction I'm fine trading him as like an LB2 this week instead of his usual LB1 but I'm not dropping him or or benching him for the most part or panic selling like anything like that it's just it's just a slow start hopefully we'll see him balance out in the coming weeks hopefully for Derek Barnes still a solid DL2 starter on sleeper more of like an LB3 LB4 otherwise his his snaps did come down a little last week but he's been pretty good and worth trusting in deeper leagues and especially where you could play him as a defensive lineman defensive back no Brian branch no Kirby Joseph still this week so Christian Isian and Chuck Clark are going to be the starters for at least another week I liked Isian's usage more so than Clark last week so I would prefer him of the two for now but I do think that if only one of branch or Joseph come back soon then Isian will be the first to lose that starting job but he should be fine for at least one more week here so especially if you could plug him into a CB required slot for the
Carolina Panthers the linebackers please can we get Devin Lloyd back I think I mentioned it on the recap show but I was a little concerned that he'd miss another week after not practicing it all leading up to week three again I haven't seen anything noteworthy as I record this on Wednesday morning but hoping he'll be back soon otherwise Bobby O'Carrick should wear the green dot again in what is a good matchup which is another reason I hope for Lloyd's return but we'll see how the week shakes out if Lloyd is out again Tyrell Dodson would slide back into that LB2 role and be an option for deeper leagues since it's not full time I'd even the back Trevon meh rig continues to disappoint despite ideal usage like this really hasn't been the norm for him since he's taken over this box heavy role in Ezra O'Evro's defense like he does at least get a prime matchup to show us that he can still be trusted if he doesn't do it this week though I will have a harder time believing he will ever again but yeah Nick Scott missed last week's game not sure if Hill missed another one Nathan Ranson played that deep role and he was at least efficient relatively to that you know that
role and he's one that I'd actually love to see get that box heavy role in Carolina's defense and put Mayrig deep like it just makes so much more sense especially if you know these guys their college profiles like I think Ranson could cook in that box heavy role but unfortunately the you know I'm not the defensive coordinator otherwise that is absolutely what I'd be giving you guys just you know direct your complaints to Ezra O'Evro defensive line Jalen Phillips didn't capitalize on a nice matchup last week unfortunately gets a tougher matchup this week against the Lions though not impossible the the problem really is that both of the offensive tackles for the Lions have been great Penny Sule and even Blake Miller who came back last week I've got Phillips just more as a DL3 this week right last game of the week Monday night football in the NFC South Falcons Saints Falcons defensive line which guys be upset if I skipped over the NPCs of the Atlanta defensive line no you wouldn't oh well I appreciate that thank you very much saves me some time let's talk about their linebackers they have been they haven't been much better for Atlanta a divide to have a low
is out there for 100% of the snaps but not really much to show for it so deeply gopchant only here Kendall Daniels and Harold Perkins Jr continue to rotate just depending on game script like Daniels is getting more of the rundowns Perkins is getting more of the passing downs no thank you for now defensive back Billy Bowman Jr came back last week and played pretty close to his expected usual snap share which is really encouraging considering he was coming off in a kill he's injury I actually really like this matchup for him against the Saints who do run the third highest rate of 11 personnel and they have given up the most tackles per game to the cornerback position this season as well so I know Bowman is like mostly classified as a safety on fantasy platforms but for all intents and purposes he's technically a corner I did petition to Gary Davenport to have that changed on mfl but I don't think it works so I apologize guys but either way I actually really like Bowman as a fair bit this week as like a DB2 it should also be a better week for Jesse Bates and Xavier Watts at safety Saints have been a good match up there the usages perfectly
fine for these guys so hoping they can do something with it this week but more as like a safety two for Watts safety three for Bates not getting too excited here and lastly the New Orleans Saints their defensive line chase young stays hot he's going to be a top start for me most weeks now like I'm becoming attached again hopefully he doesn't burn us I will say this matchup could be a bit tougher with Michael Penex's ability to avoid sacks but youngs earned a spot in our lineups I just you know just don't panic if it's a quieter week for him the nice thing here that keeps him as an edge one though for me is that the Falcons are giving up the most tackles per game to the defensive line position so there should at least be a nice floor to bank on on top of the pass rush upside and then same thing with Carl Granderson as more of an edge three like he's been a strong tackler for the position typically so I like this matchup for him as well at linebacker Kay Nellis is in for him great matchup he he's been solid we'll see if Pete Werner is back or not he left last game with a stinger so it could be Danny Stutzman for for deeper leagues it's a good
matchup in a good defense if the snaps are there I don't mind Stutzman or Werner but again more for deeper leagues and then defensive back Jonas Sanker at the usage remains unideal probably will again this week with the Falcons being a below average offense in terms of 11 personnel rate Falcons have been a good matchup for safeties but again kind of like Billy Bowman Sanker's not technically a safety for how this data collects its tackle information and where he lines up so we'll leave him alone this week it really just in read for deep leagues and only because it's it's an okay matchup but not excited to get him into lineups either but that'll do it for another week so thank you all for tuning in liking subscribing to the youtube channel that's that's really helpful and important to me guys I appreciate it a ton if you don't mind to do so I'm happy to answer questions in the comments as well I'll try to get to as many as I can otherwise my rankings this for this week are included in the episode description I will always update those as the week goes on and as we get information leading into Sunday so please do consider checking those out
