Man, is it Monday yet we are just working our way up into getting to that game. I'm excited to see what's going to happen in the second game at home this season. The same is need to find a way to win it. We're going to talk about all of that all throughout the week. We need an update what we're going to keep breaking it down. We got practice out there today Thursday. I'm recording this before we go out there. Big injury report coming up. We're going to see what's going on with Pete Werner. Don't expect to see HM but some stuff to keep an eye on with all that. Trip's going to join us on today's show. We're going to go through the worryometer. The confidence meters on some of the storylines surrounding the team through the first three games and see how we feel about all that stuff. A ton to get into on today's show. Let's get it. They're sitting there. Put that on. They're sitting there. Bear. A real joke. Action. Good night. That's just saying a way. Commentent. Got it. background. Cool. Adlogo. They're sitting there. All right. Close more phrases just want them to put that line up and then go through our team group holds the fish fusion Support. After the fish responded on the ground training, you can zoom on. The thing is that you can zoom in straight into the air. Turn off that line. Gaussen Win擝aux. wasn't fine. It was really game changing and affecting of them overall. Where you are on on this one, banks could miss potentially two months. He's a bigger guy. These procedures,
smaller guys can come back quicker where he's at probably about a two month timeline, maybe a little bit lower, maybe a little bit longer, but approximately that, can they survive it with what they got? This one's pretty high for me. Eight out of ten maybe. And I'm not just being revisionist history because Richard's had those blocks in that game, but we did this before the season. We did like the who are the Jenga pieces that could hold this season together. And I think I was considering banks as high as like number three or four or five on that list at that time, partly because I didn't like the answers they had behind him across the entire offensive line. I don't like their depth, especially after Dylan Raidens got hurt. I don't want to say this costs them a game. I mean, Calvin Banks is not a fully formed player yet. He might have given up one of those pressures to Coons that forced to turn over in the fourth quarter. He might have given up two of them. But I mean, this is about as close as you
can get to saying this player was replaced by this player and it turned to win into a loss. I mean, it's really close to that. It's not fair to pin this entire game on Richards, but, but I mean, we saw it. We don't have to theorize about it. We saw how much he was missed in that game. And I think Richards will get better from him. They tried out a bunch of tackles. Maybe they'll have to find a plan B there. Maybe they'll eventually give more help. I know you pointed out. They didn't change the island right there at all, which I think is kind of crazy. They can give more help. They can game plan their way around it. So, you know, it's not going to be, they would have won all these games with banks. They're going to lose all these games without them. If you're doing this on a player missing time, he is high, high on the list for me. Yeah, I don't think it like you said, I don't think he's a fully formed player yet, banks. So there's been some up and down play. I think there's been too much up and down play with the offensive line in general. It's almost shocking that it's as shaky as it is. And I don't think it's
a talent thing. I think they have a ton of talented players. And I just don't know that they're getting everything out of their talent right now. And I think they got to find a way to do it. They have to find a way to help Richards. If he's going to be out there playing, you can't do what they were doing in the last game. And then even last year, it was the same way. Every time you saw one of them, them charts, you know, it's out there like for Waga, banks, awesome Richards. Like, why are these guys the outliers in the whole league? Now, they do a lot of stuff with how they do provide help. Like there's, yeah, I don't know, rates, but they check them released and stuff like that. But I think just getting a guy in there would have done a world of difference. Obviously, you got to send some help over towards Max Crosby. So it's kind of a catch 22. But you got to have a plan here somehow some way to if this is what it's going to be to go through it because you got to have time to throw the ball. You got to be able to run all that stuff. I'm with you at 7, you know, I'm fond of that ranking. I would say offensive line as a whole, though, is
like creeping up on the like from the neutral side to starting to be a worry. And that is absolutely nuts. Like they just aren't given what they need out of it right now. And that's I think going to be one of the determining factors going forward. I do think that whoever sat in the protections, Tyler McCoy, McCoy, Tyler, both of them, one of them, whoever, whoever was the the weak link and weak one. I think that's improved quite a bit. He doesn't look as disordered. Like there are guys losing one on ones, but it's not like you're getting smoked by like on spotted blitzers or whatever. So that's improved that that's a good thing to see. But yeah, I'm with you on that one. I mean, I totally agree. Keep it at keep it at Nate or you want to move. Yeah, I mean, if we're just talking one to one, Kevin Banks to us awesome Richards, you could maybe even call to six out of 10, but it's just it's taking one of your four best offensive linemen out of the mix. And we were already I think that position, the depth there scared us as much as any position on the team, except for maybe the secondary. So it's like losing banks is a big part of it.
But also just you're you're now like, you know, maybe you were two injuries away from absolute peril. Now you're one injury away from absolute peril. Yeah, I agree. I agree. And I think just because of the way it's been spotty overall, like it makes the loss feel even even more and more heightened. So what leave it at eight? Sure. Are you want to go to a seven? I would go seven point five if we had that ability, but I'll round up to eight. Yeah. The other one here Travis HN out of action, Kellan Moore left the door open to him going to high R, which historically when that door has been open, they've walked through it. You know, when it when it's not a big deal, he'll be like, I he has a little da da da in, you know, he'll be like, I, it's going to be time with someone that usually means it's going to be time. So a few week injury here, one way or another running game is a mess. Another area where I feel like they've significantly underachieved relative to expectations
and resources. Where you out on HN being out and let me even rephrase this. Yeah. Does HN being out change with or without? Does that even change? Or were you rating on the run game be the same with or without him? You beat me to it because I was going to give two different answers. I was going to say my confidence in the running back position and the run game has has dipped more than anywhere on this team. Like, you know, back when, oh, how are they going to have room for all these people like two of them are Minnesota Vikings now, Devin Neal and Audric Estimane. We're like, oh, they got HN and they got Alvin and they got Kendra and they've just got so much talent at this position and they've upgraded it so much. And we have not seen the results of an upgrade whatsoever. So my confidence level in the running back position in the run game in their plan for these running backs and their vision for these running backs is just like has dipped more than anywhere.
So my worryometer that they're going to fix the run game, my worryometer that they know what to do with their running backs is like nine out of 10. But because we have not seen them have a great plan for Travis HN and even when he was healthy, they were giving Alvin more touches than him for some reason. I don't feel like this drastically like changes the outcome for them based on what we've seen so far. They'll just keep running for two yards of play with the other guys like they were running for two yards of play with HN unless they get that fixed top to bottom. So I am going to put it, you know, I guess a six for HN specifically though because he's that he should be the answer to it. I mean, we thought he was going to be when they signed him so aggressively this offseason and when they get a chance to get back to the drawing board, he needs to be the guy that leads them out of it because it's it's not going to be Alvin on his own and it doesn't look like it's going to be Kendra right now. It's funny to me thinking back to it because I remember the first time we
talked about HN, I made this impassioned case that like Jeremiah Love was like significantly better and I had this like very detailed stop breakdown and then throughout the offseason, I talked myself more and more into him even as people were hit me up from in the league like, hey, look, like, I don't know, like I don't know about this guy like you're going to like they might overpaid, it might have been this I don't know that I'm ready to settle at that. It's only been three games, but their run game is a whole does not like it hasn't worked. It was better in this game. I'll give him that like it was definitely better in this game. It was built together a little bit better. They were working some play action off it. It was the closest they've looked to being cohesive than all areas of the game until they were completely in cohesive in the fourth quarter and everything followed part, but I'm really worried about their on game. Like you said, I don't know that I think their problems exceed the running back personnel and it's hard for me to to reconcile these thoughts because the offensive line investments
and I thought their running back depth was one of their deeper positions during camp. They let two good players go like I picked up, but you like you're not doing that anywhere at any other position that they had. And I don't know. The other part of this too is like I do wish I had estimate right now and I do wonder if they mismanaged that in some capacity and it's very easy to say now because you have injuries and there's a door open. But man, I would have rather had him sitting there and available right now as opposed to some other people that are on the team that that aren't playing aren't contributing. Like I'd rather have a drac estimate than Tyree Wilson right now. You know, and obviously like you aren't you get a made a decision way further down somewhere. I know people got to contribute and all this stuff, but like that feels like a significant loss, especially given the circumstances and then Kendra being confidence rattling in the last game doesn't help with that. I'm comfortable leaving this at a six, but like I don't think it captures the score of the position overall. That's six for H&N, but it's close to a 10 for the running
by position and the run game. No doubt about it. And it's a 10 that could follow. Like all we got it. We just got to see it like something, but there's yeah, I mean, we're going on a season in a quarter now almost like if they if they don't have it in this game where where it just hasn't been there. So I mean, I think it's a fair concern overall. Like at this point, like I think I think a nine or a 10 there in the overall worry of the run game just reflects that like benefit of doubt is gone and just show us, but I'm willing to come back here and I'm not closing the door on it. And I think they can figure it out. They just have to figure it out. And yeah, two other points on that conversation. Like I've made the point a bunch of times on the show. I especially hate their running game in in the obvious running situations. Third and one, fourth and one, both teams are lined up in their run front. So they're you know, I don't think they're good in those situations. I don't think they're particularly good in like more obvious run situations like early in the game when they're trying to establish a drive first and 10 runs. Have them in great second
and 10 runs. Have them in great. I think I think their most running success has been after Tyler Shuck has softened up the defense and and it's either an actual draw play out of a passing formation or they're almost like passing to set up the run. And then I saw your stat that the run game's been terrible in the red zone. The red zone they've been lights out, but they still only because they've turned to the pass in the red zone. So they are not they are definitely not relying on their run game in like money situations. And then the second point I was going to make is I also scratch my head right away when they released Audric Estman. I'm like, why not just wait and see if you need it when his four weeks are up. But I think they very deliberately sort of chose Zameer White over him. So Zameer White's been the guy waiting on the practice squad. So so he's the guy who will now fill the Audric Estimate role. I don't know if they saw something they liked veterans Amir White, then Audric Estimate or not, but but he's he's the guy that that got the spot, I guess, and and will probably be activated unless you only need three with Camera, Kendra and CJ Donaldson,
but that's kind of playing with fire with with Camera and Kendra's injury history. Yeah, I mean, Zameer did look in the last preseason game. So yeah, maybe maybe so there. Yeah, to your point too, like they they they thought they were going to get better in the red zone this year because of the run game. And like that hasn't happened yet. So I think there's something and I got a story up on the site breaking the saw down. So go check that out in the world as that football just about to turn around in the in the red zone. And we won't get into all of it here. But yeah, I think one thing that gives you confidence about the red zone and I don't have this on the list, but like I'm I'm fairly confident that's that's a real trend. Is that I think at some point like they aren't going to hit on 80% of them due to the passing game. But like hopefully you're getting a little bit back from the run game. So as this reduces, like hopefully this rises and you can maintain a level somewhere up here. I don't know that they're going to be the number three scoring team in the red zone this year. All season long. But like I think that there's a world where they could remain top 10 if the run game comes up. So that is a reason to maybe believe in
that being a real trend early in the season. Continuing this presented by Shobber Insurgency, Airheart Agency, Jordan Tyson, which we're off the worryometer. We're on the confidence meter. All right. So just a little insight, not a report just whispers in the wind, reading tea leaves, trying to put things together. I don't know that it's going to like if I had the guess, I don't think it's a Minnesota return right now. Maybe on the other side of that. Maybe like I think he's going to get another look and kind of come up with the plan of action. But I get the sense, and again, I'm just reading tea leaves here. And sometimes when you're here in thoughts, like thoughts change fast, like people change direction immediately. So I'm not locking in to anything here, but just kind of where the conversation's at as of today. It feels like there's a feeling of patience in the air. So what we'll see how it goes. Like, but again, like sometimes when you, when you can actually hear what people are thinking, you hear the actual thought in the moment
as opposed to like once the decision is made. So I don't think any decision is by made at this point. But if I had to gauge where I'm guessing the decision's going, I think I would guess beyond the four weeks. But when you come back, what's your confidence meter in him changing the offense? I would hope that their plan for Jordan Tyson is he's eligible to begin practicing after the Atlanta game. Whenever he starts practicing, whether that's right away or another week or two, I don't need him playing in a game six days later. Like, I would think that would be foolish for them. I think open the practice window, get him out there, get him in walkthroughs, get him in limited participation, get him a full practice. Like, like, I would treat it that way. So hopefully it'll be a great son when we see him back to practice. But yeah, I would not, I would not expect and I would not advise. He sits out as long as he sat out and then he gets three days of practicing and he's out there in a game. So it would, I guess, is the right approach. Yeah,
I guess it would depend like on how cautious they were being with the initial move. If that was like a highly cautious move and he's already like sprinting behind the scenes or something. Maybe, but yeah, I don't, I don't think there's a need. Like, the feeling I get is that people feel like, hey, look, Rainy, how long career, how do you like, just be cool? Yes. Which I advise. Yes. Yeah. And I don't like, I don't know what if there's going to be a level of desperation coming up. Look, I can, I'll tell you what, like you could use this dude against Minnesota with their attacking quarterbacks and all that stuff. But I don't think any of that should, should decide it. I'm eager to see him. I want to see him. And look, he could get on the field and just, man, there's no issues here. Like, but yeah, just be smart. Don't push it. Don't rush it. None of that stuff. Don't keep him out, just to keep him out that way there. Like just make sure you're making the right decision. But what do you think the, the confidence is on him? Just significant impact. I love that they don't desperately need him. I love that they can practice patience because
Chris Alave is playing as well as any receiver in the NFL. Devon Vale is playing as well as any number two receiver in the NFL. Joanne Johnson and Noah Fant are legitimate pass catching options who are catching touchdowns at a high rate. So it's like, Jordan Tyson can be brought along as a, here's a 10 play package. Here's a, here's a 40 play package. Here's a, you know, like, it's not like a, you know, we're crumbling without you. Let's rush him back in there and, and let's make design the whole game playing around him. So I like that he gets to, you know, come along at that rate and enter a passing game that's, that's really clicking right now. And, and I think they're going to fit him in great. I don't think defenses will be like focused on, we got to stop Jordan Tyson. So I think he'll have some opportunities early. And so my, my confidence level is, is really high. The only, the only thing that would stop me from saying he makes a big impact is, is I think they will bring him along slowly and treat him as the,
the sort of the third receiver for at least a while till after the by week or something like that. So I'm, I'm talking between two different numbers. I have a lot of confidence in him being able to make an impact. But I, I think it'll be more like December when he's really hitting, hitting on all cylinders. So it would that be a seven. I don't know. I'll let you pick the number here. December feels a little cautious like a little too. Like I think once he's out there, he's rolling it. Look, yeah, I don't think it's, it wasn't like a surgery level hamstring injury, either. I think it says, all right, let's back off like take the full amount of time here. Because there was the issue with him coming off the, the pro day, he had an injury, tried to practice with it. They bid on them. Then he's out. And then I just don't think that there was ever probably the fully appropriate amount of time with it. Obviously, like he was healthy by the time training camp came around. But I think this is just like the, hey, let's back off and get like a real plan for this thing and see where it's at. I think once he gets out there, like it's going to be
full go. I like, I don't think it's going to be either you're playing or you're not. Like, I don't think it's going to be, you know, and I think when he's playing, there'll be a significant impact. I don't think it's a December thing for him. Oh, like I would expect him to bear his bangles like to be, to be about where you'd expect it to be for that. I think once he's out there, man, it's like a, I think I'm throwing it nine. Like I'm at a nine out of 10 on him, like making a real impact on this team. Incredibly talented player. I don't think he's going to have trouble getting open or anything. I don't think he's going to struggle with the play speed of the NFL. A lot of their stuff is about winning in space. Like, so it isn't, hey, go out there and win a one on one. I drop it there. I mean, do you want to put it agree to it at eight? Yeah, but I mean, just to be clear, when I said December, I meant like, that's when I think we'll
be seeing like Jordan Tyson the nine. Like in December, I feel like the offense will be fully what it is. A lave Tyson one, two punch. I do expect him to be out there on the field a lot in November. November is basically the four games after the by week. I expect him to be like a full time player then, but I expect the next month to look like his preseason and I expect November to look like his first month of the season. And I think by December, he's, he's looking like rookie year edgy bush is kind of what I meant by that. Not that he won't make any impact till December, but December is when I think we'll see the nine out of 10 Jordan Tyson this month. I think we'll see the seven out of 10 Jordan Tyson. So just depends on on on where that falls. So eight out of 10, I guess, just because I, I think they'll be patient with him. But, but when he's playing his full, you know, 60 plus snaps of game, I think he's going to be an awesome addition to the team. No doubt. Now, this is where I think he gets interesting. Juwan Johnson keeps us up easy yet. Right now.
But when Jordan Tyson comes back, ball distribution inevitably is going to change in some form or fashion. I don't think Chris is going to lose targets. I don't, I don't think anything about what Chris is doing really changes when Jordan Tyson comes back. Because I think, I'm more kind of, views the game to the lines of, and I don't mean this in a disparaging way at all. I think he, I think it's one of his better traits as a play caller as a coach of everything. I think he kind of views it like, man, like you're playing Madden and Calvin Johnson's on my team. I'm throwing the ball to Calvin Johnson. Like where's X, where's X, where's X? I think he kind of tries to get his playmakers into those situations where they're going to get the ball. Like, no, I'm not going to just play six receivers and rotate them through when I have Chris Alavi. I'm going to get the ball to Chris Alavi. I think Chris Alavi is still going to get the ball to say I'm about, and he should. Joanne, I think she should also continue to keep getting the ball, but like, ask to come from somewhere. So I think there is a little bit of question here. Do you think he, he stays on his
current pace once everything's out there? I do. I don't think his current pace is unsustainable. This isn't eight out of 10 for me as well. I agree. His target share can't be too, too high. I mean, he just had eight receptions on eight targets. I'm not predicting a lot of eight for eight days. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. But it was four for four of the week before three receptions on seven targets. His, his yards 54, 66, 53. But we saw that kind of numbers all last year. I don't think he'll average one touchdown a game. Obviously, but my confidence is really high in Joanne Johnson because unlike what we were saying about the run game, I think, Kellyn Moore and the coaching staff truly does have a vision for Joanne Johnson. And they've shown it to us since, you know, week one of last year and for a year and a half down. And I think obviously him and Tyler Schuck have a good rapport. Like, I believe in all those things. I don't think he is just like a benefit of a guy is out and he's, he's getting like more looks because
of that. I mean, I think, I think he's a big part of this offense. I think maybe Tyson takes a little away. I think he takes a lot away from Bryce Lance who's not getting a lot of looks now. But like those go away, I think maybe a Noah Fant player too would go away. I think Devon Valleys numbers would go away a little bit. But I think, I think we've seen Joanne Johnson's role in this offense so much that I believe in it. I believe in it too, but at a pace of 980 yards. No, no, I mean, what do you finish with last year? I he's on pace for 980 right now. Yeah, yeah. But I mean, he's average in what? He's average in 60, 60 yards of game right now. I don't see he's average in 60 yards and five catches for 60 yards of game right now. I think he can be a five catch for 60 yard guy for most of this. He's not really doing so, but yeah, a thousand year pays for us. So the way, I guess so is 60, 600. Yeah, I mean, that you're right around right around a thousand. Yeah, like he's average in just a little bit below right now. I don't think so. Yeah, I think I have to. I mean, when you say that number, it's high,
but but four for 48 every week, sure. Like, you know, close to this, close to this. Yeah, like, I think I think it'll feel the same, but I just think the number of dips a little like I has to. I have to do a little bit. I guess like Chris could lose a reception too. Like when you're talking about a single game, yeah, yeah, no, I would never be surprised that you want as five catches for 60 yards in a game, but he's going to do it every single week. But that's where they get you. That's where on the lines they get you. Yeah, of course, he's going to do that. And then he doesn't. But I have total confidence in him. And I think the yak ability that he's showing to give him the opportunity to potentially out produce. But I would say one of our best takes on this show is to watch on since like everybody in the world's on a rate. And them. Yeah, they are. That was like one of our best offseason takes. Welcome back to Noreal and stop football, presented by a loft 18. We continue the confidence meter, worryometer meter, presented by fandal. The next one that we got up on the list, the states will play a complete game. One in the near future. Let's, let's, let's call it in the, in the next four weeks. Do they get the complete four quarter performance? My confidence meter. I mean, they're making it hard for me to believe that. I, I believed it very highly. Oh, they, they have to be able to fix this first quarter, first half stuff and they immediately fixed the
first quarter, first half stuff. And I watched that last game and, and I know you did a good job of breaking this down on a previous pod. I'm not surprised at all that the film looked better than the game felt. I mean, it wasn't like they collapsed in the fourth quarter. They were moving the ball into the red zone on every drive in the fourth quarter. They just had four turnovers. They didn't forget how to play offensive football. The drives just blew up. It was like, it was like a total of four bad plays and that's it. So I'm not, I'm not worried about them being able to produce offense continually, but, but how can I have confidence that they can do it for four straight quarters when we've yet to ever see it once? So three out of 10, even though I think they're going to win more games than they lose, I don't think, I don't think we're going to see that all four quarters game. I think it's possible, but I can't bet on it. I leave it in neutral rating. Yeah. And the reason I like, I'm going to leave it there. I really felt at a certain point in
that game that it was the best Tyler's ever looked and the best at Collins ever looked and then they just couldn't land the plane. Yeah. No, I think Tyler had a couple plays where he looked like he was, he was sped up and that was a problem. And it doesn't take a ton of those, the kind of put you in a couple of bad spots. And then, but like, here's the thing. And this is part of the four quarter thing. So it works against it. But when you go back through and then it's like, well, like the reserve left tackles a reason, like, yeah, you kind of end up feeling a little bit better about the film, but he is part of the thing here. The only reason I, like the other reason I think that they could do it in the near future is that I like, they are like, they could play a four quarter game against the Browns and maybe not play that well. And it could feel like a four quarter performance. And I think you could do it against the Steelers. And I know the Falcons look way better, but I'm not like there on the Falcons yet either. And you got the bucks in the near future. Potentially without Baker in there in this array a little bit. So I think the schedule maybe
allows you to do it. But yeah, I can't get above a five on it. Like until we see it. Until we see it again, it's something that's never happened with this, this, this group. So we got to see it. Let me say this. If you, if you phrase this as sensual win a game by double digits, I think they're going to do that sometime in their next. It's, it's one, two, three, four, five, six games at Atlanta, Minnesota, Cleveland and Carolina at home, Pittsburgh and Paris at New York. They're going to win one of those games by double digits. Now, well, they have a lousy quarter somewhere like, complete game. I think I'm reading a little too literally. But like comfortably take that take that 11 point lead in the first half and keep it. Yeah, I think they'll do that once in the next. Yeah, I mean, I guess that's going to help them define it in every now. I think they'll definitely do that. Complete game is is a loaded phrase for sure because it's four quarters three phases. Yeah. It just feels that. I feel like when I think of it
like that, yeah, I can see how you could get to a three on it. I'm thinking for a bit like, they take control of the game and they just, they just keep the playing study smooth landing. Feels like it's on autopilot and everything hits and lands right way. So yeah, I totally, I totally get how you could get there. Um, Oh, 10. No kidding. But to be fair, we were tens before the season. We're not surprised by this at all. And that's why we believe what we're seeing because it's confirmation bias of what we thought we'd see from him. He's just a stud. He's an awesome player. I continue in this presented by Aaron Rose. We're talking about Chase Young's production. Uh, 10 out of 10 might just hit there. On the last show, I was talking about where his contract is going to end up. He's got one year left. He's making $17 million a year right now. Um, to get into the top five, I believe the threshold is, uh, $41 million. By just about every metric, he's ahead of the guys that are setting that barrier into the top five on average annual value.
Took it discount on the last deal kind of. Um, do you think he plays well enough to get into top five ad pressure money? Well, 100% top five, yes. Um, because just because it's his turn in the rotation. I mean, like the, the NFL money is so ridiculously silly right now that anyone coming up for a contract like the ones from two years ago are obsolete now. I mean, it's gone from 40 million to 50 million, you know, just two years, two years later, you know, like from the Miles Garrett contract to the Will Anderson contract, they went from 40 million to 50 million. So he's going to get there just because he's a top 10, top eight, maybe top five ad pressure. And it's his turn to get a contract. Um, TJ Watts, 41 Daniel Hunter 40. I think he passes those guys up, you know, the, does he pass up eight hundred cents at 45, Mike and parts is at 46, maybe not because those guys are younger. And that's a big
part of the formula. And he's now going to be on his third contract or fourth contract. I want to look at it. But um, yeah, I think, I think he, I think he gets into at least fourth place among the current deals. I guess it just matters who, who else is also up at the same time, which I don't know for sure. Will Anderson already got his deal. But if there's a couple other guys out there like Will Anderson, then I'm not thinking of maybe they'll pass him up. But, but, I think so for sure. He's only a couple months older than Aiden Hutchinson, believe it or not. He came to the least I know he came in. So yeah, how old is TJ? Why? TJ Watts, he's a lot of wheels older. Who was the other one that you said age wise? Um, Daniel Hunter, who's a lot older, I think. Yeah. TJ Watts, I'll talk about it turned 32. Age production, all that stuff. Like these guys stay in their prime until like 30, 31, 32 wish, you know, um, he's gonna, he's gonna earn it and he's gonna pass it up because of
the timing and all that stuff. But I think, I think he's gonna have a, have a, have a, have a, another double digit season. And it's going to be on the, like the double digit season almost feels guaranteed at this point, just based on how he started already. I mean, he's definitely going to get there. He looks unbelievable. He's, he's had good matchups against two good tackles and just made both of them look kind of ridiculous in the process. Yeah, man, like he's going to get paid and I think he's going to get paid big. And I think it probably happens. I think it should be a priority of this off season, honestly. And if they aren't coming right, if I'm Chase, I'm just playing out the season and then I'm dipping. Like, because the, the money, the money's there. Like it is only going to be there. Um, like if, if, if it's a standoff, like, yeah, just bet on yourself and go for it because at this point, you already have and man, the way he's playing, like there is extreme, extreme money out there and he did not get it on the last deal. So, um, I think he'd be totally within his rights to
do it. And I think he, I think he should. I mean, I really do. What was Turan's line on the show, the other day, did he say he thinks he's the strongest player in the NFL or the strongest past pressure in the NFL? I don't think that's hyperbole. I mean, there are a couple other past pressures. We just saw Max Crosby's and all someone, uh, Will Anderson, TJ Watt, Miles Garrett, Michael Parsons, uh, Aiden Hutchinson. There's, there's a lot of other guys in the conversation for best past pressure right now. But throwing bodies around the way Jayce Young does, he, he might be the strongest of that group. Yeah. I mean, when you got like, Pennies swore on skates throughout a game like that, that, that saying something like Max, Max doesn't play that strong. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely the combination of power and like his get off is so fast and so strong. And I think he had, uh, he had the second fastest get off in the NFL last year. Maybe it was first in the Miles Garrett was second. He was either one or two on like the fastest one in the NFL, uh, like single snap and then overall he was like a top three or four guy overall get off time
last year. So it's get off power speed. But like he's just there. Everything's together. Like he's exactly, we've set up a million times like he looks exactly what he was supposed to look like the day he got drafted right now. And that player was second in the draft. Those guys get paid top tier money when they live up to that hype. Took him a little bit to get there. Path was a little bit winding, but I would say, um, he has definitely achieved the last one here. Pete Warner has been filling that void left by tomorrow. Davis everybody kind of talks about it about Kaden Ellis in the Mario, but it's actually Pete for tomorrow. The way it's been set up. And they've created this this great little run scheme where they're blitzing off it and they're getting people off balance and they're kind of timing everything. If you get under center, like they're just bringing one of those guys out. You are their Peter Kaden. Um, and that's kind of been one of the keys of their run defense through three games. And I mean, this only with respect to Pete Warner, not really about tomorrow at all. You haven't really had to sit there and contemplate
a void because of how well he's played until Pete went out and then you contemplate it avoid. He's done a good job of maintaining where was that? Maybe some levels aren't all the way there, but other places I think he is. How confident are you that that's realistic that you go through the whole season? And it's like, yeah, Pete Warner did that. Yeah. I mean, this obviously feels like the position, the right position for him, doesn't it? I mean, it, and we talked a lot about, it used to be every Kaden Ellis conversation we had had to be that we are not disrespecting to Mario Davis in any way. He's one of the greatest all-time saints and greatest all-time linebackers. But Kaden Ellis does bring a different dimension to the team. And you get the bonus of Pete Warner moving into a position that suits him better. Certainly the combination of Warner in the middle at Mike and Kaden Ellis versus Demario at Mike and Pete Warner, I'm very confident that they can
produce as a duo as much or better like I believe in it. I believe they got Pete in the right position. I've always thought he was a, you know, whatever a good solid player. What do we do every year? We do our top 21 rankings. He's always like, you know, 12 to 14. And it just feels like they've now got him playing in the position that suits him best. So I do believe in what we're seeing. It's very similar to our Jawan Jawan's conversation, I think. There's a world where this combo is better than the last combo. But if you flip it, you know, I mean, like it's just like Pete being in that spot, I think is a plus on Pete. And I think Kaden's a big plus on the other position. And yeah, I mean, we aren't talking the 2020. We're talking last year versus this year. Like, and I don't think, and I think a lot of what I'm saying there is about maybe Pete not having the impact that he looks like he was having early in his career too. I think kind of where it was out last year was like, yeah, like it's fine. Like he's doing okay. Like it's replaced,
above replacement level, but nothing that's really changing the outcome of your team. And I think him in this spot is a significant improvement for him. So yeah, I think it's totally, totally locked and totally where it's at. Just injuries are going to be the thing. He's dealing with that stinger. That to me is maybe a bigger deal than the HN one right now to keep an eye on. Well, what kind of see how it plays out. I thought that's when was okay. Absolutely absurd. You got fine for that head. Um, whatever. All right, let's hit a break. I'm going to be right back. Guess what Louisiana? It's back the legendary 10k third square. 10k is a sports shrink you grew up with. Thought football is not time for the get Gordon question of the day presented by Gordon McCurden and injury attorneys. I got one for you since I was not in the building. Just put your memories 2006 Steve Gleason game, domcoming obviously they're celebrating the anniversary on Monday. What was the light? I really can't compare. I mean, I can compare it a little bit to the Saints Super Bowl, which did not take place in the Super Bowl. The NFC Championship game did that year. But there was so much involved in that game that when you hear people like Mike Turekot, who's impartial, you know, say it felt like a Super Bowl. I think Chris Berman said he's
never been in an atmosphere like that. They're not just being nice. If you weren't there, it really was. It was one of those sports has an impact. This is why we love sports moments. It was it was like if they made this a movie plot, you'd kind of roll your eyes and be like, oh, this is so Disney, it's not true. You know, it's like the miracle on ice has so much more meaning than one game. I mean, I've never ever thought anything, anyway, anyone has described it as hyperbole in any way. It was it was so emotional partly because everybody in that building had not only like lost so much in their lives, they thought they were potentially going to lose this team, potentially going to lose this building. And so not only did they have that back within a year, this was like leading the fourth. This was like the first big thing that came back to New Orleans. This was like showing New Orleans that it could come back. And so that would have been a special
moment no matter what, but it was also a shockingly two and oh, Saints team coming in, playing against their biggest rivals, taking taking the lead four plays into the game on, you know, a play so great that there's a statue outside of the building. I mean, you two in Green Day concert before the game like like all I can say is I can't put it in the right perspective, but you know, it's been 20 years now. So I'm sure there's tons of Saints fans who've only heard about it as a legend and weren't there. And it's like it is not over exaggerated. It was one of those like like sports what sports can be life is bigger than sports, sports was bigger than life like it. I've never been a part of a moment like that. No doubt about it. I mean, I'm sure it was like that when they had the the Yankees meds game after 9-11 and you know, I mean, just like sometimes sports is amazing. And it was that night. Yeah, I mean, hopefully that there's never another moment, never has to be another moment like that again, because those things are, you know,
proceeded by tragedy. But like I was thinking about it yesterday, I might be getting way too deep here for a Saints podcast. But I don't even know if we have the capacity as a society to have a replicable moment anymore because of like our collective conscious of this no longer settles in one place like nobody pays attention to anything long enough or anything that actually really matter anymore. And that was one of those things where like like with 9-11 like the whole world, you know, in some form or fashion had a piece of them here. And now these like terrible things happen and we look at them and we just keep scrolling and it's like, oh, well, look at what with Miles Teller got going over here. Oh, they're getting at them in the comments and like, we don't care about anything anymore. So I don't like, you know, there were these moments like throughout my life where mankind was at its best after a terrible thing had happened and it restored your faith in humanity. I don't know that like I can remember a moment like that recently where it felt like there was just this thing where you could see the good of man due to the
reflection from a terrible thing that happened. And I just wonder if we'll ever have another thing like that again because it's like, there's like a terrorist attack somewhere or something and it doesn't even register anymore like nothing registers anymore. And I just don't like, I don't know, choose them. We were kind of there with that. That was the last one where it felt like everybody kind of rally behind it. But there's been bad weather events and terrible things happening in the world. And it's just like, nobody goes there anymore because we never get there to begin with. Like, it's just it's a weird, I don't know. Like we've we've reached a place where I like, I don't know if these things are maybe I've become too cynical because of the way the world is. But like, I just feel like that we don't come together anymore as people. No, that was, I mean, it was a come together moment. There's no doubt about it. I mean, that you're you're right to want more moments like that in the world because it was, it felt like one that night. Yeah, I was way too deep for a say. It's five guys. We're going to end it there.
But yeah, it is, man. Like we we suck in some capacities and these like moments where empathy is needed. Like I don't think empathy exists in our society the way it used to before the world change. Anyways, that's going to do it for this one. We'll talk to you next time.
