And when you think of a football Friday, at this point, you don't think of Rick. No. We like to call these in the industry, Grasse Friday. So I turn, and I say hello to my dear friend, the great, I love him. That's genuinely, honestly true, the great, Dan. Grasse, good morning, Dan. How are you? Good morning. This is on another GF, as they like to say, right? A Grasse Friday. That's right. Yeah. And there's a lot encompassing in the Grasse Friday, by the way. A lot of things that encompass the Grasse Friday. Sure. I mean, let's run through the Grasse Friday menu again. Jordan Rennon, 735. Jordan called me either yesterday or the day before I forget. And I saw he called and I didn't call him back. Look, I'm not ready yet. You can't process. I'm just not ready. Gary Myers called me earlier in the week. I didn't return his call. I am, I mean, I'm doing my job. I think I'm doing it as well as I possibly can, but I'm not ready to have like the side conversations. How you feeling? I feel terrible. I feel terrible. So Jordan 735, Rich Simeone is going to piggyback him at 745.

We'll go around the league at eight o'clock, which I love. Arjun's going to lead us around 830. The frenzy 845 fat Jack 915 stuff. You missed 930 NFL picks 950 plays of the week and boom, bam. We're done. And we got a frenzy sprinkled in there too as well, right? Yes, I'm frenzy 8. Oh, I missed the frenzy. I'm sorry. Frenzy 830. So we got, we got a lot going on. We got, we got a lot going on. Since last I, I saw you spoke to you was last Friday. My depression is that it's gone from like a 930 to like a 745, but that, there's been a real rough week for me, man, a really rough week. 930 was 7.5. So that's gradual improvement you would say. Yeah, I was steady. But the giants go out and they, this to me is a very important game for the giants, a very important game for the giants. I would like to think so. You need to win this football game. I would, I would like to think you need to win two football games in a row against two teams that are right for the taking in your building. Now, let's worry about Arizona next week.

Like you said, get through this one. The norrister, I think is somewhat of an equalizer. Aside from the fact that you don't have your starting quarterback. And you may not have your starting left tackle. You're not going to have Brian Burns and all probability, right? So, um, but this is going to be a tough game. We would like to win the game because then at least you could look at the standing and say, okay, we're two and one and we could have been two and one even with all our healthy players, right? Right. Right. Right. You need to win this game for so many reasons to keep things on the tracks to show that Winston is capable to have belief and buy in to John Harball. I mean, there's a lot of reasons here. If you lose a game at home to Tennessee and you're going to hear people, I mean, Tennessee look pretty good last week. They were right there with Phil. I don't care. I saw them against the jets. They were home against Philadelphia. They travel here. I don't think Kim Ward is very good. The running game is not all that great. I mean, this is just not a very good football team. Your home, if you can't be Tennessee at home, then really what hope do you have for this season? Right.

Then what are we doing? Right. Because Tennessee's not you, you outlined it perfectly. Tennessee's not very good. You're poorly coached. You know, this is the ideal opponent. And the other thing, you know, I talked about this, I guess, would you even like back in the summertime? Like now that we're finally here, this is a Denard Wilson revenge game. I don't think he has a lot of love loss for one Bob Salah because remember Bob Salah fired him twice. When he took over the jets, Denard Wilson was on staff. He said, no, we're not keeping you. He went to Tennessee, just this past off season. Denard Wilson was on Tennessee staff. He said, no, we're not keeping you. So he got rid of him twice. You don't think that art Wilson wants to beat his brains in on side. Sure. But my question to you, and I hear that night, and I understand what you're saying. Like, is this game more important? Like, so what does Denard Wilson do differently? Like the, like I could see if you're up by three touchdowns, you're like, we're not taking our foot off the gas guys. We're going to, we're going to, we're going to, we're blitzing literally until the clock hit zero. Okay. Fine. But like five minutes ago, second quarter is Denard Wilson sitting there is Brian Debel sitting there going, okay, they disrespected me. It didn't pan out well for me, guys. So let's do this, which will be far different from what we would ordinarily do.

No, I think it would only be in situations where one team has the upper hand like late in the game. And then you rub their face in it. Sure wouldn't have that. I think so, right? Yeah. You're up instead of taking a knee, you run the ball, you kick a long field goal, you can get one out, you air one out. Right, right. You're running trick plays. You help like three touchdowns with one and two. I agree with it. But like, as far, because I love it, like there's going to be extra motivation. You think these guys aren't, I mean, Brian Debel is fighting for his NFL career. Robert Salis is fighting to be a coach in his league. Then Art Wilson is a new defensive coordinator with the Giants trying to make his mark. I just, I wonder if at all there's this like, all right, guys, they, he wronged me. Second drive of the game. What, what, what do you, like what will be different from anything involving this? No, but I know that it is brought up a lot during the week in meetings and so on and so forth. Like guys have told me like coaches will not be afraid to let it be known that, hey, this one has a whole I hate them. Yeah, I hate him. Sure. I just don't know. I don't know what.

Hey, at this point in time, though, your team, given all the hits it just took on Monday night, you need all the extra motivation you can get. I'll test it right again. You know, and yes, you want to win this game, but you got a long road ahead of you. Yeah, but I need to win this game. Of course you do. But I have to take it from somebody who has a PhD in losing their quarterback early in the season and having to live through years where basically you don't have a chance like get one and take one at a time, but it is going to be a long, difficult road. I said this after this happened on Monday, and I don't know if I like I said, we haven't talked necessarily. I mean, you got James Winston right now. James Winston's not going to be the only guy starting a game for the giants the rest of the year. You don't think so? Hell no. There will be multiple human beings that start a quarterback in your because I up until and I still have hope with him. I honestly truly do up until watching him play for a good bit of time on Monday night. I think I've been said to you. I think you might even sit on the air and I stand by and I don't think it was a crazy thing. As far as backups going this lead, he's one of the better backups.

Like he has been up until Monday night really good. He's, I know that you're going to get some of the James Winston and you're like, oh God, what was that throw? I understand that. But I didn't see any of the, oh, look, see, that's a throw. See, that's why he was the number one pick. I didn't see any of that on Monday. I have to think he's going to be considerably better moving forward because if he's not, then I would agree with you. You're going to see multiple guys starting for the giants this year. 100% you still got 15 more games. That's the thing, right? It's not just like one game. Dude, you got like a whole season. You know, and if I asked you over the summer, do you feel comfortable with James Winston as you're starting quarterback this year? They say, of course not. Hell no. Yeah, but who what player around the league? If I said to you, do you feel good with that backup quarterback as you're starting quarterback for 15 games? Would you be like, yep, I feel good about him. But there's a reason where he is where he is right now in his career. Like an evil in a league where quarterback play is so at a damn premium, right? And you will do anything to find somebody even quasi competent. There's 32 teams in the league who felt that he wasn't good enough to be their starting

quarterback. He's not right. But but how many is Kate Clubnik good enough? I mean, he's played a game yet in the NFL. Right. Maybe Mac Jones is good enough. Like, like, maybe there's one or two backup quarterbacks. You like that guy is capable. But my point is this, like once in a lifetime, you get court Warner, you get Tom Brady, right? Who just come off the bench and then they're all the famers. And we just didn't know it, right? That's why I said, like his play is going to drive the Giants crazy enough. At some point to where they're going to say, we need to go to the bullpen. We need to find another option to Jake Hainer. No, they're going to have that's what I'm saying. They're going to have to go get another guy, man. Trust me. That year when Aaron Rogers went down, the jet started three other quarterbacks, three guys and two of them weren't even on the team when I was just got hurt. I mean, they talked to Flacco yesterday. You know, how do you feel about? By the way, that one like in making a list in your head on Monday, when you realized, all right, they're going to have to go get somebody else. For some reason, Flacco did not even pop into my thing space. Would you be, I mean, look, he's not a guy that I want, starting 15 games either.

But I, that's not the worst alternative to bring him in. Statue back there though. I know he's a statue, but, but the Giants offense is built on like a quarterback that can move a little bit. Well, you're going to have to have to playbook is being thrown out the window, right? Because dark's not, that dark's not that guy. You know what I mean, but Flacco, I mean, obviously, Harball knows him. He knows Harball. It was his first coach. They had a lot of success together. Yeah, I don't know. They want a Super Bowl together. Then this is the thing they pick up so the food is people like you got to go get so who are you going to get? But that's what I'm talking. Quarterbacks were just sitting on the corner. You drive by like, all right, let's go. We're going to bring in. Look, that's why it sucks, man. I mean, it sucks for a million reasons, but that's another one. Like all the good options are already on somebody's team right now. And, and even 32 teams don't have good options. 100%. So now I'm going to go from, from, okay, Jackson, daughter, I think it's a great option to the guy behind Jackson, daughter, who's probably not a good, and then I'm just going to somehow find a way to get another guy who's a good option. Well, I think about this whole thing sucks. The NFL wants to emphasize the whole off season program, right?

And so think about OTA's mini camp, training camp. I mean, how many months does that go on? Where you're in the system, you're in the program, you're learning an offense, blah, blah, blah, blah. Now you're going to bring on somebody from the outside. And they didn't have six months in the system in the off season program, all that other stuff. And you're going to basically just say, Hey, man, here's a crash course in physics, learn the book by tomorrow and you're going to go play on Sunday. Yeah. Yeah. That's exactly what's going to happen. Does Jimmy Garoppolo do anything for you? Because I mean, he's available. Yeah, maybe I won't. Here's you could do a lot worse than Jimmy. I know that all of you might disagree. He'd let it seem to a super bowl. He had a lead in the fourth quarter of a super bowl. Well, and I'm not, this is not like her. I'm probably not actually asking you, well, what's that time we saw Jimmy Garoppolo? I don't even remember. No, it was a few years ago. The last time he started games on a consistent basis. Do we know that Jimmy Garoppolo is going to be capable of being a starting quarterback again? No, but you know what? I might have more faith in him or just as much faith in him as James Winston for 15 games. Maybe, but that the here here in lies the problem is that you're, you're now desperate.

And desperate. And again, I think James Winston is a competent backup quarterback. But any of these guys that you're going to have, that's what they're going to be back up quarter. Right. You're not look dude. I mean, we're stating the obvious here. It sucks. What happened? Like your options are not great. And as you said, like, should they be right? Anybody who is worth a damn is already on an NFL roster. So you're looking at either a guy like Garoppolo, a guy like Flacco. You're going to go raid a team that maybe has three semi comp like, you know, does they know Connell do anything for you for the Raiders? Like those are the type of guys. Right. He started games. Yeah. Do I want to go grab Joe Milton and at least an athletic guy at least right? I could do some of that RPO stuff. I'm going to throw the football. You're going to steer clear. Zach Wilson. I can tell you that. Yeah. I promise you that. That's a lot of these guys. Yeah. But it stinks for two reasons. A, you were excited that this year could be something and B, the maturation of Jackson Dart is now stunted for an entire season.

You know, 100%. I mean, I thought the giants were an eight or nine win football team. So I think they could get to eight. Ah, yeah. I think they could possibly get to eight. But as far as the excitement now, it's, it's kind of ripped away. It is. It's, it, it, it looked trust me. And I know not every situation is exactly the same, but this is, this is the fighting. You know, Jackson Dart. He's not to the giants with the way the jets kind of built the whole campaign a few years ago around Aaron Rodgers because he's having a rod. Jet's super bull talk. Right. No, but I mean, and he's Aaron Rodgers. So he's going into the hall of fame first ballot like Jackson Dart's not even close to that as far as a resume. But I told you, I mean, like when he, when Aaron Rodgers went down, like the building, forget about just football, like the building itself was like a funeral home for a week because they realized the whole year, even from a business model that they put into that season with this guy being the central focus and then Poof was gone. Like that's your whole year.

It's like it's over before it even started. Yeah, which is so deflating. It really is. And you could sit here and say, well, I think Winston will play okay. And maybe he will. For arguments, maybe he even plays okay. It the whole thing is still absolutely horrible because I mean, I know for a fact, a large portion of the reason outside of the 20 million that John Harbour took the job was he loved Jackson Dart. Correct. He loved him. And I've heard he actually liked him more than he thought he was going to. And it's gone. The whole first year of that camaraderie of that maturation of that learning of him growing on the job gone dead done. The thing that I would be worried about more than anything are the other injuries that are starting to mount because you hope it's not horrible, right? You hope it's not like a snowball effect because all these things you're saying about James Winston or whoever's going to be the quarterback. If you have a competent supporting cast around him, then maybe the quarterback is not asked to do too much. But I mean, you think about the four guys on Monday night who got nicked up. Obviously your quarterback, your left tackle, your best pass Russia, your

stud wide receiver. Now neighbors is going to play. He'll be fine. But like those other guys, I mean, think about it. Like you could not sit there and identify four more important people to this football team than the guys that got injured on Monday night. And if we had a draft and the four of us went around the room and I started. And it was like, okay, take off the Giants player. Yeah, it will be the most destructive. I would start with Jackson Dart. Where would you go? Next one I would go to because of what we've seen from this Giants team in the past. When he's not there, what happens to the rest of the unit? Andrew Thomas. Okay. You're going to end your time as Raymond. You're up. Yeah, I was literally saying Andrew Thomas, right? At right. Well, so he's off the board. Where would you go next? Probably Burns. Yeah. And then RJ was probably busy doing something else. I imagine would take Malik neighbors. That's right. Hi, RJ. You kind of set that one up for him too. I mean, he left them Malik neighbors. Right. And I don't even think he's a like question marks. Like these are the these are the Brax Warriors just to be that guy. Yeah, what is your

emergency? Rick would have done it. If Rick worked on Fridays, he would have come on and be like, I'm going to take Zvada. Well, Dave, think about it. In the NFL nowadays, who were the guys are quote, unquote, the positions that get paid? franchise quarterbacks, stud left tackles, stud pass rushers and a stud wide receiver. Think about it. And those are the four guys. And the blessing that the giants have had is that this year, you don't even have to pay the stud quarterback and you don't even have to pay the stud receiver yet. Yep. So that so having a year of complete control and not having to pay the quarterback, that's how the window to it's things. It's things for it. And like I say, I want to see good football and not just with Jackson, but we're all these starting quarterbacks that have been injured the first two weeks of the season. Like it's going to be a water down product. And God knows we're only two weeks in for crying out like what is the rest of the year having store God knows. But by the way, the packers were horrendous. Yeah, they're bad. I mean, their offensive line is a mess.

You see, they were, they were like thrown out there, starting Tucker craft it on the offensive line. Well, I mean, they're, they're, they're best offensive lineman got carted off in the third play on Sunday afternoon. And I said to RJ, like, you know, I've made peace with the game on Sunday. It is what it is. That's, but you, you would agree. That's a horrendous loss. The way the packers look last night as a boy, that they even stinks even more. 100%. But you know what? The packers are like notorious for likes. I know that they're missing a lot of guys now. They actually have a built in excuse, but they usually are like slow starters anyway. It's weird. That was, that's less than was jarring. No, this is a look at the Falcons is being all that great. This is so bad that like, you know, they were showing, um, Gouda Kinst and, um, policy in the bootless. I mean, like you, you got to wonder, what is there by? You know, like would they do something in season? That seems so anti green Bay. They did it with McCarthy though. I know. That was a long time ago, but they did do it. The packers like to do. Let me see when they're by his standby. But I mean, be John, who's great was all on it last night. He looked like some of the spins that he looked like the Madden game.

Like he really and truly, right? Didn't he look like a video game with some of the stuff he was doing? It's kind of what he does. Why do you have to go to rate for that? Like I couldn't say like, yeah, he looked like a Madden game. Mom, yeah, because you know, strike me as a video game guy. No, no, you're fault. No, I'm going right. I know right answer. That's right. I know I know Madden. Like it's not like I've never played or never seen the game. By the way, you have to go right past me right to because Ray is our gaming expert. I'm looking. I'm looking right at Ray. That's why. By the way, speaking of Madden, how horrendous is that movie? Look, it doesn't look good. Oh my. We're not before we crush it. Is that that's not like a Disney movie? Right? It's an Amazon vehicle. Okay. Yeah, looks terrible. I mean, holy I want to use an expel. Like he doesn't watch on which came. It's almost like they're not even trying. Like he's not even trying to sound like John. Like hey, like if I told you all the people that walk the earth, when would you get to Nicholas Cage to play John Madden? I think James Winston would be a choice. Didn't we do all this when it was announced that he'd be playing the role? We kind of we kind of would give it. You know, you could put a fat suit on him and dress him up and all that stuff, but like if

it's basically like Nicholas Cage trying to look like John Madden, but sounding like Nicholas Cage. Yeah. What is that? What is that? What is it? No, not the beast. Not the beast. What is that? That was the stage. The wicker man. A little wicker man. Not the beast. It's a good time. Oh, God. It's almost like in the latest trailer, they're almost like kind of displaying it as like a somewhat of a parody. Like they're it's like unapologetically like almost a parody. So that's not a theatrical release. That's just not a theatrical release. It's not a theatrical release. It's a prime video. Yeah. Sort of. It's not a real release, but they's like now that November, November the 11th. Streaming, streaming's where it's at. No, no, no, no. It will premiere in certain theaters November 11th, followed by the global streaming release November 18th. Okay. You know what? I'm sorry. That doesn't count. Select cinema doesn't count. You got to go to like some bougie art house or something.

And by the way, the cast is terrific. You got to make a bad. You got to make a bad. You got to make a bad. Christian Bale is Al Davis. Catherine Hahn is Virginia Madden who's John's wife. John Malaney was great is the EA sports founder. Sienna Miller is in it. Shane Gillis is in it. It's done by David O'Rossel who's a well-known filmmaker and director. Yeah. It's just with an open mind. No. No. That's where the movie marketing can actually get it in trouble. Who the hell is Marshall? Lichplague. Yeah. I saw Marshall Lynch in the thing. I said, what are we doing? Well, but so what? That's the least of my concerns. It's a concern. Marshall Lynch plays a gene upshore. No, he doesn't. No way. I'm kidding. Yeah. I mean, no, he does not. Catch us live weekday mornings from 6 to 10 a.m. on ESPN, New York. The MSG network and streaming live on YouTube. This is DPA Crow and Rothenburg. John and Marbott give it his track record. I think the guys are supposed to go in there for their care games. I'd like to wait with 7 or 8. Is that possible? Beep beep beep. The world's not going to work. Keep spinning. The games keep getting played. Nobody feels sorry for you. Time to go play the next game. That's why you're paying $20 million a year to figure this out, right? I mean, if this falls off the rails. That would say a lot about a lot of this. Or this is a P.A. Crow and Rothenburg on ESPN, New York. The MSG network and streaming live on YouTube.

Dean R with you ESPN, New York, MSG. I by the way, I don't know if I've told you this. I feel very confident and very bullish on the giant. So in the game this week, are you more confident or more bullish? 50, 50. Confidence and bullishness. Confidence and bullishness are intertwined in how I feel right now. Now is that more tailored to the giants or the opponent? But as a confidence, a source of that, you think? I think more confidence because the team I'm playing is not good. And additional confidence because I think this coach is good. I think this is a winning coach. I think you will get the team in the right frame of mind. And I know they're banged up, but they're playing a team who's just not very good. By the way, one of the teams they've played already, they've played only two teams, not the jets, but Philadelphia. And I know that you have an opinion on them because you don't like them and they're near division. What about that? Do we get a read on them? They're 2 and 0, but they've only been six points better than the two teams they've beaten. Yeah, I think the two bad teams are what they are, right?

They just find ways to win games. Hertz doesn't play great and then he goes on a big drive. But when they won the Super Bowl, they were not. They were great. They're lines with that. They're not that team anymore. No, they're still pretty good. I think they still win 11 games. They probably still win the division. But do I look at Philly as a realistic threat to go to the Super Bowl? No, I do not. No, I do not. And I'll tell you, no, no, no, no, no. And I'll tell you, I'll tell you, I live in a charm life because you have the green base situation that we talked about a little while ago and they stink and they're going through it right now. Well, they, but here's the thing with them. They stink and like, how does it get better? Well, my point is, remember, Jets got their pick. Oh, I know. I know. Cults are winless. Jets got their pick. Things are coming up Jets. Yeah. I mean, imagine you went up with like three top 10 pick. Oh, well, you know, I was bullish all summer that the Cults one was going to be the gold mine. I'm not convinced of that yet.

Still? No. No. So the Cults lost at home to Baltimore and they went to overtime in Kansas City. That just lost the Baltimore. They got crippled by Baltimore and Baltimore. What happened to them last week? Crimpled. Yeah. It's like crushed and trampled. Crimpled. Oh, you can buy those two and you can't happen with the game. Oh, no, listen, they're all in two and that's great for you. I'm just, I'm, I personally, no, I think they go to three this week. What are they? Host Houston? Yeah. Yeah, I don't think that's crazy either. They're going to win some games though. Some, but no. No, I think that pick could be 12. I do. Do I think it's going to be three? I do not. No, I didn't say three. I think it'll, it'll, it'll, it could fall on the top 10. I will say, which will be unbelievable. What do you expect from your jets this week? That'll be a good test. I really don't have a feel on the game one way or the other. I think it, first and foremost, it's going to tell us just indeed how good the defense is. Right. Good offense. That's true. Yeah.

I mean, like real playmaker. No, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, one points in both games. You know what I mean? So like, is it going to take 30 to win this game? Probably. I think the jets will score two. I think this is good. This is going to be, I, I would like to think this is going to be their best performance of the season offensively because the Detroit defense thinks it should be, but you know what then here's the thing. And I know whether it was bad last week. Isn't like green based defense's world beaters. They look pretty good against the jets. Uh, true. Absolutely. I think that they, they went through some stuff this week, just talking to some people there to where like they had a few, you know, I don't want to say difficult conversations, but kind of look in the mirror conversations this week, which I think will better them going into the game on Sunday from an offensive perspective. Uh, you should, you should move the football. I mean, if you're going to rank defenses, this is one of the worst defenses in the NFL. They stink. There's no other way around it. They stink. And again, I don't think the jets are the best defense in the NFL despite the fact of what the statistics tell you. But again, we're going to get, we're going to get it less in here just to how good they are. Cause the choices would lose this game in a competitive manner that Monday morning,

like, Hey, you know what? Pretty good game. Yeah, because I think already through two weeks, they've shown you that there are leaps and bounds better than they were last time. This team is at least three touchdowns better. If they played last year's team, they'd been in by three touchdowns. They would, they would cry. Last year's team was, was an embarrassment. It was the last five weeks. It wasn't an NFL team. It was no, and they may not seem to be capable and competent, but I was really bothered, really horrified by what I saw from Aaron Glenn last week. Um, I thought at the end of that game, he looked completely overwhelmed. Yeah, you like to have a few of them back? Absolutely. 100%. But defensively, they played well. I mean, you know, he gets credit for what the defense is doing. Yeah. But I mean, his, his, his, you know, game management. Correct. You got the end of regulation all the way through overtime was, was grotesque. Right. It's a little contradictory. We talked about that all week, right? I mean, like, you know, you say you're trying to win the game. Well, then why aren't you taking time out? And vice versa. So yeah, it's a little kind of backwards, but, you know, in the off season, everybody joked and laughed when he said, you know, defense, calm defenses, my super power.

Well, so far through two weeks has been proven right. Well, let's say, let's see what this week looks like. You go out there and you hold them to 24, 21, and you make some, some real plays defensively. You know, it's going to be good weather there. Um, you know what? That would tell me a lot. I'll say this, you know, if you want to like, again, like cut the season into quarters, if I would have told any jet person at the beginning of the season, you got to legit shout to be two and two after the first four in a heart. And that could happen. I'm not going to sit here and tell you this game Sunday is unwinnable. And this damn, I think this spread is six and a half. You can win the game. It's not like it's like you're 14 point. I know this isn't like this isn't the lines from like three years ago, whatever it is. Listen, Amanra is really good. Jameer Gibbs is a real problem, but their offensive line is not great anymore. And their defense has been terrible the last two years. I mean, that was really Dan Campbell those own, you know, devices. Yeah, he can make a massive blunder at any point. Go for fourth and seven. It is on 27. I mean, what knows what he can do?

And then not looking too far ahead, but next week, I mean, who the hell knows what the bear's quarterback situation is? You could be facing case kingdom next week in all probability. So, so would you beat this appointed at one in three? Yes, the way that it's played out. Yes. Okay. So, so we get through four games, Jets are one and three, but like, you know what, they should be better than this. Yes. Okay. Yeah, 100%. I think now that we've seen these other teams, totally. And remember, it's a stark contrast from what a lot of people were saying at the beginning of the season before we even kicked it off, right? That all they could go on for to start the season. Yeah. Those three NFC North, if you don't be Tennessee, you're going to be on for. Well, now you got an opportunity. And you're two and two and you have some some really nice games coming up. Well, and not, not just that though, forget about like, you know, looking ahead or the games that we identified at the beginning of the season, look at some of the games that people probably put off his losses. You need to tell me they can't go into LA and beat the chargers. After what we've seen from the chargers, how screwed up they are. Yeah, that there are massive. Has New England looked like world beaters the first two weeks?

Yeah, I don't look at New England as a team. You're going to beat right now, but I'm just saying like you, you're not going to lose to him by 50 like you did last year in your building. You shouldn't get run out of the building any week now. Like you're a, you're a component functional. Right. You're, you're, you're, you're a good, competent team, as you say. I wouldn't say good. I wouldn't. Well, I, I, good and competent. I kind of like linked together. I mean, you're, you're capable. You're capable. I mean, you're, you're a competitive football. Yeah. You know, I can't say good solid. You know, like those are always the two words of good solid. Yeah. This is, you know, that chair that I just got. It's a good solid chair. Yeah. Yeah. Good solid automobile. Football Friday's ESPN, Eric brought to you by Draft Kings, Draft Kings, the crown. Is yours. All right. Let's get to the calls. Arty Brooklyn, Arty, your on ESPN, New York. Hey, Dave, welcome to Jet World. No, I mean, I get it that you want. I get it that you want to have seven wins and stuff like that. But going into the season and not having any playoff aspirations is like that's

yet life, you know, and now just losing to green bear. Walk out of there. And I said, we had that hope. And then I just walked out. I think the games now are Aaron Glendes, you know, that's, that's his games. I mean, again, you got to admit, if they lose to the Detroit and the bears on the road, I mean, I mean, you're asking a lot. I think to beat one of those two teams, even with the backup quarterback, Caleb's not playing right now. We don't know that. We don't know you. The backup quarterback is Geno, right? I mean, what about it? Say again, he's saying that you know, like a quarterback, I guess I guess. He's a backup quarterback. And you know what? I mean, we start talking about like what we're going to look like. And then one hit and then let you compare and let you see we were at a third string quarterback. You know, and the giant sign is extended this guy. And you're talking about picking up a guy from Cleveland, picking up a guy like

a gob, Garoppolo. Why are you extending them then? They're ridiculous. This guy should, I get it because there's a difference. There's a difference between being a quarterback for 15 weeks and being, Hey, can you come in and finish a game or come in and play two or three games as a big difference there? But if you rather have Garoppolo, then then you're Winston, then you made a mistake for signing. Well, I don't know that I'd rather have Garoppolo than Winston. But remember, Arty, you didn't go into the game. You didn't, you didn't resign Winston thinking the Jackson Dart was going to be lost for the season either. Nobody, nobody goes through life like that. I get it. But and then the thing is true with Cleveland coming in. If you're not being Cleveland at home, then what are we doing? What are we doing? I mean, sorry, Arty, don't worry about, don't worry about Cleveland. You still got two more. We're about Sunday. You know, Sunday's going to be difficult. Very, very difficult. Not sure who I already and then you know, when in Chicago, I mean, if you go up against,

yeah, what's his face? Tyson Beijing or their case, can you shake when the game? They scored 39 years old. They scored three points last week at home. And that ain't the purple people leader defense. Three points. Yeah, that's not a game that you can't win. Of course not. And if you lose these two games, I mean, I mean, that's, that's not a great look for the day. Let's face it, even if Caleb Williams goes on IR tomorrow and like we know he's not playing next week, Jets will still be underdogs in that game. It might be, it might be like a pointer to, but those will be underdogs. 100%. By the way, for those that'll be watching, which I mean, everybody's going to watch the games, Jets get drew breeze in the booth. I'm back to back weeks. Really? Yeah, because they're Fox games the next two weeks. And it's the, who's a breeze this partner? Adam Amin this week. But next week for the Chicago game, Adam Amin gets, uh, shut it off to baseball. So I think it's, uh, Tim Brando, they said that's going to take over for him.

So the Brando and breeze next week in Chicago. How do you know this? I, I mean, I could say something really snotty and snarky, but I won't. Uh, it's notty to me or day as whatever. I mean, but I, let's, let's put it this way. It came across my purview. How's that? Okay. So, so maybe like your Twitter feed. Yes. I saw your direction. Pop up. Yes. I mean, it's just, it's a, but you, you know, just kind of know a little bit about what's happened. Like, you know, Adam Amin's schedule, you know, what he's got going on, you know, Tim Brando was sliding like it's impressive. Yeah. It's a lot of knowledge. Mm hmm. I guess I, I mean, I don't know. And then you get Jets playing bolt at one o'clock on Sunday. I, you know, I know we've been doing this for years, but you and I grew up and, you know, a lot of us grew up in a different time. I, I still can't warm up to that. I just can't. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Well, because I like to concentrate on the giants number one, of course. And then I like to concentrate on the Jets. I like, I wish they would play it all three times.

Oh, you might like think about it. There are people that grew up like young fans that don't even know what the hell we're talking about. They never used to be allowed to play at the same time. Exactly. Ever. Never ever. What, what time of the giant? Oh, giants are one. So, jets are four must before. Right. Maybe one. Wasn't that fun? I liked it. Time for the big blue report brought to you by King. So I and this will not be an easy conversation for me because I have not talked to my friend Jordan. Ron. Since it's happened. Trade phone calls though. Not not trade. He called me. I didn't call him back. Why don't you call him back? Because I'm not ready yet. It's a bad guy. Bad friend guy. No, let's bring him in. He's everyone's favorite. He is Jordan. Ron. Hi Jordan. How are you? Well, tell the people I did text you the other day before it was out that he was going to be after the season with exactly what it was. So you've been a great friend. I kind of fell on the sword earlier in the show. I said, I didn't return your call when I saw you call, but it was just because I'm not ready yet. Yeah, but I think everybody can see what this is though. What? If Jordan covered the New Orleans Saints, I don't think you have any interest in him. I'm just being dead. That's not true. Are Ray my wrong or right? No. No, Jordan, you know that's not true. You think Dave is caring about Tyler's shock and how he looked in practice on Thursday. He doesn't. He wouldn't have information doesn't, but while I would say, you know, Dave likes the

information and he let he likes that I can fill him in on stuff. He does take care of me like my success at the station is all Dave. How? Because he got a platform. He ain't. Would you, would you, you pounded a table for him? I fight, I fight for my guys. You pounded a table. Listen, Jordan's my guy. Rick hates Jordan. I love Jordan. There's, there's a real man. Who's Rick? He's, he's, he's the one that throws their host on the show. I didn't even need to make the joke. You took it. You did it for me. So he is like a layup. Uh, Jordan, you know what the thing that stinks so much about this, Jordan? You see the, and you're like, oh God, this is awful. And then we learn, no, no, it's not going to be awful. It's guys, it's going to be fine. So you get your hopes up. Okay, it's three weeks, four weeks, five weeks. You know, look at the schedule. Winston can win some of these games. They're going to keep their head above water. They're going to be okay. And then after that, you learn, no, no.

It's the torn, you know, MCL and PCL and he's, he's going to have to have surgery and Maniscus involved. And now he's going to miss the entirety of the season. That to me is what made this whole thing so heartbreaking. Yeah, I mean, look, it's a rare injury because somehow is ACL actually state intact. Usually you don't tear the MCL and the Maniscus to the degree that he did and have your ACL stay intact. And that's like the one in the field where you can really, you know, diagnose that with the field tests. It's pretty, you know, that's, that's rather easy. They honestly thought he had probably an MCL, you know, sprain would be out several weeks. You know, who knows how, how long he would be out for. You know, that's why they do the imaging and look, I was talking to Camp Scataboo yesterday. He thought the same thing. You know, like, that, him and Jackson's art, that's what Jackson's art told him. Like, you know, he wanted to go back in the game. They told him it was better for him, not to obviously the doctors were like, no, no,

no, you're not going back in. And then after the game, he's like, he said, oh, yeah, be all right. But and he goes and takes the test and it showed otherwise. And it is, it's disappointing that the season just loses so much, so much air was taken out of this. So much juice is gone now, right? Yeah. And it's like, I hear all these quarterback ideas. I mean, come on. What are we talking about? No. Like, what are we talking about? They just invested in James Winston. They just signed him to an extension. They made this evaluation. They thought he was, you know, the best or one of the best backup quarterbacks. They're not now going to go trade for a backup quarterback to play over James Winston. And let's be honest, like all these names were saying, oh, Jimmy Garoppolo, but at least he's free, by the way. But like, what is Jimmy Garoppolo going to do against the tough schedule in the second half of the season if you have to play him every week? Gardner, Minshu, what's he going to do? Go two in eight. How many games are going to win with Gardner, Minshu?

Like, what are we even talking about? But you have to have an insurance policy, right? Because it's sure. And finally, like the definition of a backup quarterback is a guy who can maybe play a couple of games for you. If he plays every week, he becomes a starting quarterback. You do not give up an asset for that. No, any sort of real asset like that is, you know, come on. It's the door Sanders or Mac Jones. Like these things that I'm hearing, even Jay, Jay McCarty, unless Jay, Jay McCarty's basically free, it doesn't even make sense. But you need another quarterback in here. You need to. That's what I was saying. James Winston's play may drive you crazy enough to where then you want, you can't send him out there because he's become a liability for you. But he's getting several games here. Of course, but my point is is when do you think, do you think they will maybe look to be more proactive and then go bring in somebody else who can step in aside from somebody named Jake Hainer? Yeah, it's get through this week and see where we're at. See how James plays. See where we're at. You know, Jimmy Garapolo, Joe Milton, those make the most sense to me because they don't

cost assets that affect your future. What about a flack over union with Harbour? Why are they getting in here to flack? I'm just saying. I mean, it's worth a phone call. Why would the other, he's on what Cincinnati, right? Yeah. Okay. The Cincinnati bangles have an injury prone Joe Burrow, who by the way is complained about his back. Yep. Why are they going to trade Joe flack for a seventh round? You want to give up a fourth round pick a third round pick for Joe Flacco? But you know, people always look at it from their own perspective. There's a big any sense at ease. You point, of course, it makes no sense. Zero. No, no, I don't know. Did you know, by the way, did you hear Joe Flacco comment on that? Yeah, I don't think I'm getting traded. He basically said that trade was. He basically said people, because people text them and you know, people start rumors and he basically said how dumb it is. All right. So, James wins. This is true. He was Jordan and this was concerning. He was awful. I can't believe he was that bad last year. I said last Friday with Dan on the show.

I said, I think he might be the best backup quarterback of football. Like, Mac Jones, like he is right up there. He was so bad. It was jarring. Was that didn't expect to play? Playbook was not set up for him. I'm not going to see that again. Am I? I think that was James Winston got flustered to be honest with you. He started off poorly and just couldn't get it. And this is part of what the James Winston experience is, right, David? You see it even at practice every now. James Winston fires a perfect pass in a tight window between two guys, 30 yards down field and you're like, holy cow, what a throw, right? And then the very next play, he's throwing a five yard pass, a swing pass to the running back and he over throws the guy by 15 yards. Like that inconsistency is part of his game. That's why James Winston is the backup quarterback to be fair because it's not like he hasn't had opportunities to be a starter in his league. He has. He's not consistent enough to be a good winning starting quarterback.

I mean, go look at his career record. His career record says he's a losing starting quarterback, right? So I think that's kind of what you get with James. There's all over the map. Now that was the low end of the spectrum. Detroit last year was the high end of the spectrum, right? He played excellent in that game. He was really good. He even ran the ball. He caught a touchdown, ran over a dude and stiffed arm, down the way to the end zone. Like, he played really well in that game. So there's a wide range of outcomes with him. And that's kind of what you have to expect. There's going to be games here where he plays pretty well. And there's going to be games where he looks terrible and he throws the ball to the other team. And but the other day was like, I think that was just the bottom of what you could have. Yeah, that was jarring. Like they they call the screen pass. All they needed was like eight yards. They probably would have got a field goal attempt. He over threw the guy by 15 yards. They rolled the mountain. He's all by himself. Either he can run or throw to, was it the, it was the O Johnson and he basically grounded the ball at his feet. Plus there's one thing, like you said, but I think also like we were using the analogy,

it looked a little bit like the kid who was, you know, caught off guard by the pop quiz and he didn't study for the test. Yeah. Well, I don't know if that would have, that's what it was because I mean, they had plays there to be made. He just didn't, for some reason he was throwing the ball so inaccurately that about the one where he threw it at moving his feet. Yeah. Imagine if Miles Garrett was coming out of him in that game, but I don't understand. How is that not preparing? That's just not making it through. He's a quarterback. You just got to make that throw. You make like he was, I don't know. He was, he seemed flustered to me and just never, never got on track. The giants were messing that game. And look, you know, somebody said to me afterwards, he said, you know, that roster, there's a coach who watched their first two games because they were on prime time for the team. He's like, they're well coached, but that team that roster still has some holes and you saw that against the ramps. I mean, the safety position with Tyler Nubin, the cornerbacks really had no chance, right? The run defense and the depth there.

The lack of really explosive weapons aside from the league neighbors who's still coming back from injury. Those things do exist with this team and that's why you're not going to go mortgage anything for you shouldn't at least mortgage anything big for a quarterback to be like, we got to make a run this season. Right now. So that doesn't make sense. That's why make a run with dark. They're not going to make a massive run with we know that, but did you heard the rhetoric that? Of course. It's silly. It's silly. All right. Walk us through. We know dark's done. We know that in the season, walk us through the other three massive injuries. Malik, Brian Burns and Andrew Thomas. Yeah. So Brian Burns yesterday is still walking with a pretty bad limp. He's in a boot. He was not in a boot when I called. High ankle sprain or low on ankle sprain, Jordan. They've said low ankle sprain. So I'm going to take them at their word for that right now. John Harboh, so far has been honest about injuries. We'll see. But he said low ankle sprain.

So Brian Burns, if he can play, like whenever his foot tells you that dude will go on the field, even like if he's limping around and if he can, if he's any chance, he can play. Now I don't see that being this week. You're probably at the throw in the towel this week. Andrew Thomas is the one that we have to watch. And is the biggest concern. Malik neighbors. He looks good to go. He looks fine so far. I mean, obviously we'll have to see what happens when he lands on the shoulder and he takes a hit. Right now as we stand, that's the least of their concern. But yeah, if I've made a list, we made a list Dave and said, who are the most important players on the Giants? We did this early on the show. Those are the four guys. I mean, I got you three and four. I get it. I get it. Do you think that the game plan talking about James Winston, how this offense is going to look different, given the fact that there's a Norrister barreling down on the area, do you expect that it will be a little bit scaled back given the elements instead of, hey, let's go out there and let it fly all afternoon.

Well, I think the Giants wanted to be a run first team, which accent are. They wanted to be a big physical power run first team anyway. With the backup quarterback now in, who by the way, isn't as mobile, takes away a little bit of the offense, right? You're not going to be running RPOs left and right. I mean, maybe one or two here or there every few weeks, but like that part of the offense has to be thrown out. This team is going to power run the ball and then work, play action deep balls off that. What does James do? What is James's best ability? He has a big, powerful arm, the ability to throw the ball down the field, push the ball down the field. So that's what the Giants are going to be. Maybe even more so than they were before. Like that's what you're going to see. He's going to be a passenger. He's not the conductor. Oh, by the way, yes, I'll have the conductor hat. Oh, good. Maybe wear that one day for us. But yeah, he's going to be a passenger in this and they're going to try to run the ball and bleed the clock out and then hit a few big deep passes off that.

That's what they're going to do. They're not shy about that. All right. Last one, we'll let you go. We got rich to me, waiting in the wings. I have said all week and a lot of the guys are like, oh, I don't know. I don't feel great about that. The Giants are going to win this game. The Giants are going to, they're going to round the troops. I think they go out there. I think they win. I think it's not all that competitive with seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Do you echo this sentiment or are you of the mindset that this is going to be a real dogfight? I would have said that if you told me Brian Burns and Andrew Thomas were definitely there and they were going to be playing and I have serious doubts about both of them right now. I don't know. I think it could be, I think it's going to be a tight game. I still do think the Giants are going to be able to, you know, like I said, play that philosophy of run the ball, play physical, wear the Titans down and they probably will win. But I'm not as confident and I was a couple of days ago. That's for sure. Great. All right. There's been a really uplifting conversation. How did you handle this week? I've been traveling a lot. It's been a rough week off my then-nighters.

I've been short week the whole nine yards. Well, you know, we did the show Tuesday. It's like, oh, don't worry. He's going to be back and then Wednesday is like, great. Now he's out for the season. It's been a really awful week for me. I'm not going to lie to you. It's been a horrible week. He have a tailor made opponent this week like we talked about. They stink and they're horribly coached. Uh, Giants are going to win. You'll see Jordan. Mark, okay. Giants win. Because if they don't forget it, I'm gone. It's going to be a long season. Oh, if they can't win this game, it's going to be a real long season. Thanks Jordan. You just, you just want to stay afloat. Be around three and three after six games here. And then you see him like, have a chance. Yeah. Have a chance. All right. We'll talk to you. Thank you Jordan. All right guys. Ryan, King's Hawaiian, best slider in all of football. All right. Let's move from the Giants to the Jets and bring in the great Rich Simeone and the Rich Simeone report brought to you by Super Bowl 61. Good morning Rich Simeone. How are you? Good morning gentlemen. How you guys doing? Hey Rich.

I'm doing terrible. I've had a really long rough week. I'm not doing as terrible Rich. Yeah. Yeah. I thought about you Dave when it happened and look, it's the dark side of the NFL. It sucks for the fan base. Get fans went through it three years ago with Rogers. So it's awful. I know. I know. Every fan base has been through it and it makes it no easier for me or this fan base. Rich, I was pretty vocal. A lot of people were somewhat defensive of, I thought Aaron Glenn at the end of that game was just making some head scratching decisions. Did you feel the same way? Well, certainly the one at the end of regulation where he let the, he basically gifted the pack of a free Hail Mary by not choosing to take a time out with a minute left. I thought that was mismanaged for sure. Yeah, absolutely. You know, taking the ball at the beginning of overtime, I prefer to get it seconds. I mean, you look at the data and it's like a 50-50 proposition. Although there really isn't a lot of data. This has only been going on for one plus years under this system.

So take that for what it's worth. I would have taken it second, but I'm not going to kill him for that. Some of the play calls, you know, the end of the first half is inexcusable. You're holding the ball for four minutes. You can't get across midfield. And you don't even get a shot at the end zone. That was like moving in quicksand. So yes, there were some glaring o'clock management miscalculations by Aaron Glenn in this game. And a little contradiction, too, right? And trying to explain it, I think it's pretty evident to where, you know, on one hand, we're trying to win the game. We're trying to win the game was the edict as far as going forward on four down at midfield, but then not taking the timeouts either at the end of regulation there. So it's like you're trying to win the game, but then you're not giving yourself any time to win the game. That one needed to be explained a little bit better. So again, this is still a work in progress. Obviously, I said earlier in the show, Rich, he's going to get a lot of credit for the way the defense is playing. I mean, that's looking like his superpower, but there are still some other things that you need to maybe tidy up as far as wearing both of those hats, head coach being the most important one. Yeah, there were some mixed messages.

I mean, it's interesting that, you know, who they played this week in Dan Campbell, who's like the ultra aggressive, fourth down coach. And, you know, when they hired Glenn, I thought he would be some of that as well, but, you know, at times, you know, they're going forward on fourth and one from the 50, which I did not agree with, but he's going for the win there. But then yet at the end of the regulation, he doesn't want to put his offense back on the field. So, that was like an ultra conservative playing not to lose. So, you're right, Dan, some mixed messages. And the defensive part, yes, he's done a good job. I mean, it's only two games, but they are ranked number one in defensive yards allowed. So, I take that with a grain of salt right now. I don't think they've played a good offense yet. I mean, you saw the Packers last night. They struggled. I mean, they got some serious offensive line issues and the Jets beat up on the Titans, who I don't, you know, they're quarterback plays below average to say the least. So I don't think the Jets have been truly tested on defense yet, but that will change on Sunday.

Oh, I don't change big time on Sunday. And also, you're going up against a defense for the Jets that, I mean, you know, the line's defense. It's just bad. And this is not the week that you can be ultra conservative and try to eke out, you know, 21 points. And you need to put up points. Like, you need to have 400 yards of offense. Like, like going into this game, which I need to see 27 points for the Jets in my mind, have a realistic chance to win this game. Is that realistic that the Jets offense is, is, because that line's defense stinks? Can the Jets offense be really good this week? Yeah, I mean, they can get 27. I mean, we've come close to that, you know, the lines are average in 31. So you got to figure they got to be right in that neighborhood. I think the best defense for the Jets this week will be a ball control offense and just trying to get back to what they did against Tennessee and just control the ball and run the ball, which they obviously could not do against the Packers. They have to try to reestablish that in this game. And I do think someone asked Aaron Glenn on Wednesday about, you know, he said something

like this is not going to be a 13, 10 game. And Glenn kind of looked at the reporter like, what do you, you don't want to concede anything, but I do agree with you, Dave. I think this is going to be for the Jets to win. They're going to have to get at least 27. And I do think they can score against this line's defense, which really is just the decimated in the secondary. You know, for goodness sake, they have Chuck Clark, the former Jets, who really didn't do much with the Jets starting at safety now. Their regular safeties branch and Kirby Joseph are out. So the Jets have a real opportunity to do something. I will make this note. Add my Mitchell showing up on the injury report yesterday with a finger injury. There was no explanation from the team. Aaron Glenn doesn't talk on Thursdays, but he will today. I'm hearing that this could be a serious injury. I mean, you know, this might not be just like, you know, a sprained little thumb. It could be a little more serious than that. So Glenn will be talking in a couple of hours. Hopefully we'll get more of a clarification on that. But I think there is some concern around the Jets about that injury.

On that note, so now you're searching for as many weapons as possible on offense. And the Kenyan Cedic usage, I think a lot of people were a little puzzled by that. And I thought it was interesting, but Frank Reich said yesterday when he met the media. Because you know, Rich, I think we were all kind of surprised the way they used him in week one that he was a big part of the game plan. And Frank Reich said, well, yeah, we thought we'd have to bring him along slowly. But then we saw him on the practice field and said, no, wow, let's, let's throw everything at him. And then his rationale for not using him as much in week two was, well, he's only had basically like a week or so of practice. So it's kind of like one hand one week, the other next week. I just don't know what's going to be the plan for week three here. Is he practicing enough? Is he not like what's going to be the story this week? You know what I'm saying? Yeah, Dan, I think with regard to not yesterday was specific to the possibility of using him as on like a push push. Oh, a push push. Okay. Okay. Okay. My mistake. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like the Ravens use Mark Andrews, you know, comes in, takes the snap and you know, takes the, you know, quarterback sneak to, you know, whatever sneak you want to call it.

I someone asked that question because he's such an athletic guy. He actually played a full back in high school. So, you know, someone asked that question and said, look, he, you know, he's basically been only practicing a week or two, you know, so they didn't want to throw that on his plate. But in terms of, it's a legitimate question about his usage in the passing game for sure. I mean, they hit him early last week against the Packers and they kind of ignored him for most of the game. You know, I thought the passing game plan was a bit curious in this game. They weren't really a lot of three wide receivers and not as many tight ends as they did the previous week. And I think Sidita guy, you got to get the ball to certainly get a chance to have Wilson only had seven targets last week. In fact, he was only targeted twice after his third quarter touchdown. I think he was certainly frustrated by that. He left the locker room immediately after the game when he get a chance to talk to him, which is very uncharacteristic for Garrett Wilson. So he was frustrated. And yeah, so Frank Wright, look, look great in week one, not so great in week two. And I think this week is a chance for a real bounce back because as we just talked about

the Lions defense has some severe holes in it. Yeah, the very bad. All right, Rich. So let's get to the part where you really make your money. Game on Sunday to the Jets find a way to win it. Yeah, no, I don't not this week, guys. You know, I think I think they will score points. I do. I just think the Lions will score more. I think this is going to be a big challenge for the Jets defense. Chalens didn't waste. They haven't been challenged before. The Lions can attack you from anywhere on the field. You know, Jameer Gids out of the back field. Look, you and everybody knows the names. You know, and so I think the Jets secondary, which has actually played pretty well so far, AZ Thomas has been a pleasant surprise. I do not think if his Patrick will play this week, I think he'll miss his second straight game. But Andre Cisco did a real nice job last week. I thought it was probably his best game as a Jets, but this is, they're going against a real quarterback this week and a team. You know, the Lions offensive line, I don't think is what it used to be, but I still think there's enough skill position and talent plus playing at home.

The noise factor coming off a loss. I'm going to take the Lions in this game, you know, something like 31, 27 or something along those lines. I think it'll be fairly high scoring, but I don't think the Jets are going to be able to slow down that offense. All right, Rich. Well, we appreciate it. Enjoy the Troy. I hear it's really, really nice late September. So I'm not sure I'm going to. I'm not sure I'm going to get there with the storm coming in, but we'll see how it goes. All right. Well, safe travel. Certainly. We'll talk to you next week. Thanks, Rich. Thanks, guys. All right. That of course, Rich Semini in the Semini report brought to you by Super Bowl 61 coming to the networks of ESPN and ABC in February. Thanks for listening to the D.P. H Rowan Rothenburg podcast. Yeah. The Ardenne I just discussing the Niners.

And then they play the Broncos next week. That's a good game in San Francisco. The Broncos have a hellish schedule. Little Super Bowl 24 rematch next week. They look at you. Look at you. Ardenne doesn't even remember Super Bowl. Even alive was one of the worst Super Bowl ever. It was so boring. Yeah, was not a great Super Bowl. It was not alive, but so let me throw this at you real quick. I know we got picks and everything. Yeah. So you're trying to look for this like ideal best case scenario for the Giants. Uh huh. You remember the Browns team a few years ago that won 11 games despite a litany of injuries to the quarterbacks. Here are the quarterbacks that started games for the Browns that year. There were five of them. The Sean Watson, Joe Flacco, okay. Dorian Thompson Robinson, who's now in the UFL DTR right? Yeah, for University of Washington maybe. UCLA I think I think you're right. Yep. PJ Walker, Temple Zone. Temple, yeah. We didn't play in like the XFL. Yes.

Yes. Yes. And the immortal Jeff Driscoll. They started five quarterbacks that year. And none of them are good. And well, that was the joke. Not a joke. Well, it was ridiculous that Joe Flacco one comeback player of the year that year. He played five games. Like they thought they made it seem like Joe was the guy who took over in like week four and helped them win 11 games. No, like the other guys did the dirty work. And Joe just showed up at the end to, you know, get credit for it. Here's why I don't love these comparisons. You can always find something to support your narrative. Like look at this. Quarterback gets hurt early on in the season. And this guy comes in. And there's always going to be that. But for the most part, it doesn't work out like that. Yeah. Could James Winston carry you to great things? I guess I don't even want great things or expect or need great things. I just want competence, which is something I haven't had in such a long time. I don't disagree. And like I said, that Browns team had some good players too. Like that roster was not bad. And they were well coached.

You know, Stofanski didn't win coach of the year again that year. What all the injuries you might have. I think he did. Well, other guys are going to have to do their part. But again, the most important position, they have five guys. Not the burgers. I like the five guys burger a lot. You're going to probably jump down my throat and never had one. I can't. You never seen friends. You know, you'd eat five guys. Yeah, never had a five guys. All right. I think it's time for our picks. Raymond, if you will. 18. We're going to get a hit. Fail. I'm going to go with the chiefs and lay them in and out. DNR. Very nice. So where we stand is going up against the afternoon show, we're five in one. They're three and three. We could pick up another game here. Three game lead early in the season would be a pretty size of a little cushion. Yeah, build a little bit of cushion. Argy, what are your three games that jump off the page to you? What do you have? I would need to be talked. I'm not going to go with this here, but I would need to be talked off one anyway. Because you know, I don't think you ever want to take three road favorites. Two of them big road favorites, but that's where that's where I'm at. So you're going to go Kansas City.

Kansas City and Miami. I watch Miami very close last week and they are bad, bad, bad, bad. At some point they have to look better, but I don't think this is a week against Kansas City. The other one is a team that while I really, really don't like them, I respect them. Seattle in Washington, Marcus Mariot against his defense. I'm sorry. Raymond just told me that Jane Daniels not going on. I are. Yeah, shefty just had that as we. Oh, it's great. Yeah, right. So he'll be back and get the giants in two weeks. That could change in a week though. You never know. I would take Seattle on the road and then Rick and I are aligned. This is this is an odd line. I know they're not good. I love the Bengals. Three and a half. Who's not good? No, the Pittsburgh's not good. Oh, Pittsburgh's not good. I love it. But three and a half on the road seems, you know, for a divisional game seems like a pretty hefty line. But says Daniels is considered weak to weak right now. Yeah, I would take the Bengals my string. All right. See like the Bengals. Well, all favorites again for you. That's what I'm saying. It does look great, but Ray, where do you? Yes. I share a lot of the same sentiments when it comes to the road favorites because I'm in the same boat.

I'm right there with them with Sincy. I love that for them. I in Pittsburgh. Yeah. I also like Carolina on the road in Cleveland minus two and a half. And then my third, another road favorite in a soda one and a half against the bucks. Wow. Yeah. So we're just the show of favorites here. Huh? It's like that last week too. Some would say how to work out their road favorites and again. Yeah, we're what? What? Five and one? Yeah. Well, so Rick sent a text and he likes Houston. There is another road favorite. They're given a point to have to Indianapolis and Houston was on my short list too. He also likes Seattle, which is another road favorite. He likes Cincinnati and Carolina. I mean, we are is road favorites. And full disclosure. Full disclosure. We did not discuss this at all. No, at all. I will concur with one. I like Cincinnati. I told you I'm very anti Pittsburgh, very anti Pittsburgh. I think they're there offense stinks.

I think they have trouble moving the ball. I don't really think they have any tremendous playmakers. I think the quarterback is bad. Since tonight has a real defense this year. They're motivated defensively. I know Burrows a little banged up, but still Jamar Chase is a difference maker. Let's lock that in. Cincinnati minus the three and a half. I love it. Dan, what else jumped off the page to you of what we're discussing here? Did you say anything about the Sunday night game yet or no? No, we didn't even mention you know what the Rams Broncos to get off of the whole favorite thing. I know it's only two in another road favorite. No, I almost I'm willing to take these two and a half that I'm getting with the Broncos at home. I can't do that. After watching the Rams do what they did last week, I can't sign off on that. Bronco defense though at home. It looks like Nekuha may not play, but the Rams are that could be a special football team. No, Miles Garrett. I can't do it. I can't do it. What I can do and what I will do for you guys is Seattle.

Seattle they look like a juggernaut. Mariotta is certainly not Jaden Daniels. I think we go with the with the Seahawks and what's the number on that RJ is it's seven and a half. Seven and a half. I think that's a ten point game. So I'll agree with you. I don't care if you guys agree. I don't it doesn't matter to me. We're taking the Giants and we're laying the two and a half. We can't. I'm sorry. It's done. So go all in. We couldn't be more more. I hope if somebody's taking your advice today, they're not calling us angrily on Monday morning. No, call angrily. If you if you bet all you have and you lose, call angrily and be livid and furious. You should. No, what's that stipulation on the bottom? Well, you reimburse them. We know why what okay if they win big money, do they give me some? Yeah, maybe they will. Well, maybe they will. What's the fine print? No, I'm not reimbursing anybody anything. I'm just giving you my advice. My advice is the Giants win by a field goal or more and then you will be wealthy. This is my advice.

So there you have it. RJ, do you know what to send over to Rick now? Yep, so looks like we're looking at him minus three and a half. Yep, so seven and a half. Giants minus two and a half. You don't like it, do you? I'm nervous about the last one, but listen, I trust you. I trust you. No, I do. And then the one I actually, if I wasn't so bullish on the Giants, I do also rate like the Vikings minus the one and a half. Jump side at you. Yeah, because I think the bucks might be bad. They look terrible less way against Cleveland. Minnesota's defense travels. That's a good defense. Well, they don't turn this thing around the shit. This is going to be a foretod. It should be, no? Yeah. So there you have it. That's our three, hopefully winning picks that will send over to Dhr. Survivor were done, so we don't have to do that anymore, right, RJ? Yep, we are no longer surviving, sadly. Great. Right, we have not survived. If you manage an active facility, Dan, and I know you used to, I don't know if you still use to, yeah, not know.
