I think the giants are supposed to live in their fair-cure games. I'd like to win 7 or 8. Is that possible? The world's not that bad. The world keeps spinning. The games keep getting played. Nobody feels sorry for you. Time to go play the next week.

1:00That's why you're paying $20 million a year to figure this out, right? If this falls off the rails, that would say a lot about a lot. This is the DPH Rowan, Rothenburg. On ESPN, New York. I feel very confident and very bullish on the giants to win the game this week. Are you more confident or more bullish? 50-50. Confidence and bullishness. Confidence and bullishness are intertwined in how I feel right now. Now, is that more tailored to the giants or the opponent? As a confidence source of that, you think? I think more confidence because the team I'm playing is not good. And additional confidence because I think this coach is good. I think this is a winning coach. I think he will get the team in the right frame of mind. And I know they're banged up, but they're playing a team who's just not very good.

2:03By the way, one of the teams they've played already. I've played only two teams. Not the Jets, but Philadelphia. And I know that you have an opinion on them because you don't like them and they're in your division. What about that? Like, do we get a read on them? They're 2 and 0, but they've only been six points better than the two teams they've beaten. Yeah, I think the two bad teams. They're two bad teams. That's what they are. Right? Like, they just find ways to win games. It hurts doesn't play great. And then he goes on a big drive. But when they won the Super Bowl, they were not. Well, they were great. No, they were great. They're lines were they're not that team anymore. No, they're still pretty good. I think they still win 11 games. They probably still win the division. But do I look at Philly as a realistic threat to go to the Super Bowl? No, I do not. No, no, no, no, no. And I'll tell you. I'll tell you, I'll live in a charm life because you have the green base situation that we talked about a little while ago and they stink and they're going through it right now. Well, they, but here's the thing with them.

3:03They stink and like, how does it get better? Well, my point is, remember, Jets got their pick. Oh, I know. Culture winless. Jets got their pick. Things are coming up Jets. Yeah? I mean, imagine you went up with like three top 10 pick. Well, you know, I was bullish all summer that the cults one was going to be the gold mine. I'm not convinced of that yet. Still? No. No. So the cults lost at home to Baltimore and they went to overtime in Kansas City. It's not just lost to Baltimore. They got crimpled by Baltimore and Baltimore. What happened to them last week? Crimpled. Yeah. It's like crushed and trampled. Crimpled. Oh, you can buy those two and you can't. That's what happened with the game. Oh, no, listen, they're all in two and that's great for you. I'm, I personally, no more. I think they go to three this week. What are they, host Houston? Yep. Yeah, I don't think that's crazy either. They're going to win some games though. Some, but no. No, I think that pick could be 12. I do. Do I think it's going to be three?

4:03I do not. No, I didn't say three. I think it'll, it'll, it'll, it'll, it'll, it'll, it'll, it'll fall on the top 10. Oh, we'll see. Which will be unbelievable. Which will be unbelievable. What do you expect from your Jets this week? That'll be a good test. I really don't have a feel on the game one way or the other. I think it, first and foremost, it's going to tell us just indeed how good the defense is. Right. Because the offense, that's true. Yeah, I mean like real playmakers. No, they, they, they, and a fast track indoors. Like they're going to, I mean, they scored 31 points in both games. Yeah, I mean, so like, is it going to take 30 to win this game? Probably. I think the Jets will score two. I think this one. This is going to be, I, I would like to think this is going to be their best performance of the season offensively. Because the Detroit defense thinks. It should be, but you know what, then here's the thing. And I know whether it was bad last week. It's like Green Bay's defense is world beaters. And they look pretty good against the Jets. Uh, true. Absolutely. I think that they, they went through some stuff this week, just talking to some people there to where like they had a few, you know, I don't want to say difficult conversations, but kind of look in the mirror conversations this week, which I think will better them going into the game on Sunday from an offensive perspective.

5:05You should, you should move the football. I mean, if you're going to rank defenses, this is one of the worst defenses in the NFL. They stink. There's no other way around it. They stink. And again, I don't think the Jets are the best defense in the NFL, despite the fact what the statistics tell you, but again, we're going to get, we're going to get a lesson here just how good they are. Because Detroit is legit. Lose this game in a competitive manner that Monday morning, like, hey, you know what? Pretty good game. Yeah, because I think already through two weeks, they've shown you that there are leaps and bounds better than they were last time. Not even close. This team is at least three touchdowns better. If they played last year's team, they'd been in by three touchdowns. They would, they would cry. Less your team was, was an embarrassment. It was the last fight we said wasn't an NFL team. It was no, and they may not seem to be capable and competent, but I was really bothered, really horrified by what I saw from Aaron Glenn last week. Um, I thought at the end of that game, he looked completely overwhelmed. Yeah, you like to have a few of them back? Absolutely. 100%. But defensively, they played well. I mean, you know, he gets credit for what the defense is doing. Yeah.

6:05But, but I mean, his, his, his, you know, game management. Correct. You got to end the end of regulation all the way through overtime was, was grotesque. Right. It's a little contradictory. We talked about that all week, right? I mean, like, you know, you say you're trying to win the game. Well, then why aren't you taking time out and vice versa? So yeah, it's a little kind of backwards. But, you know, in the off season, everybody joked and laughed when he said, you know, defense, calm defense is my super power. Well, so far through two weeks, he's been proven right. Well, let's say, let's see what this week looks like. You go out there and you hold them to 24, 21 and you make some, some real plays defensively. You know what's going to be good weather there. Um, you know what? That would tell me a lot. I'll say this, you know, if you want to like, again, like cut the season into quarters. If I would have told any jet person at the beginning of the season, you got a legit shot to be two and two after the first four. And a heart. And that could happen. I'm not going to sit here and tell you this game Sunday is unwinnable. Damn, I think this spread is six and a half. You can win the game.

7:05It's not like it's like you're 14 point. No, this isn't like the, this isn't the lines from like three years ago, whatever it is. Listen, I'm on was really good. Jameer Gibbs is a real problem. But their offensive line is not great anymore. Nope. And their defense is terrible. Has been terrible the last two years. I mean, that was really, you know, you lead Dan Campbell those own, you know, devices. Yeah, he can make a massive blunder at any point. Go for fourth and seven. It is on 27. I mean, I know what he can do. And then not looking too far ahead, but next week, I mean, who the hell knows what the bears quarterback situation is? You could be facing case kingdom next week in all probability. So, so would you be disappointed at one and three? Yes, the way that it's played out. Yes. Okay. So, so we get through four games, Jets are one and three. I'm like, you know what? They should be better than this. Yes. Okay. Yeah, 100%. I think now that we've seen these other teams, totally. And remember, it's a stark contrast from what a lot of people were saying at the beginning of the season before we even kicked it off right that all. They could go on four to start the season. Yes. Those three NFC North, if you don't be 10 to see, you're going to be on four.

8:05Well, now you got an opportunity. And you're two and two and you have some really nice games coming up. Well, and not, not just that though, forget about like, you know, looking ahead or the games that we identified at the beginning of the season. Look at some of the games that people probably put off his losses. You need to tell me they can't go into LA and beat the chargers. After what we've seen from the chargers, how screwed up they are. Yeah, that there are massive. Has New England looked like World beaters the first two weeks? Yeah, I don't look at New England as a team. You're going to beat right now. But I'm just saying, like, you're not going to lose to them by 50 like you did last year in your building. You know what? You shouldn't get run out of the building any week now. Like, you're a, you're a competent functional people. Right. You're, you're, you're a good competent team, as you say. I wouldn't say good. I wouldn't. Well, I, I couldn't competent. I kind of like linked together. I mean, you're, you're capable. You're capable. You're, I mean, you're, you're a competitive football team. Yeah. You know, I can't say good solid. You know, like those are always the two words of good solid cheek. Yeah. This is, you know, that chair that I just got, it's a good solid chair. Yeah. Yeah. Good solid automobile.

But going into the season and not having any playoff aspirations is like that's yet life, you know, and now just losing to Green Bay. I walked out of there. And I said, we had that hope. And then I just walked out. I think the games now are Aaron Glenz, you know, that's his games. I mean, again, you got to admit, if they lose to the Detroit and the Bears on the road, I mean, I mean, you're asking a lot. I think to beat one of those two teams, even with the backup quarterback, Caleb's not playing right now.

10:06We don't know. We don't know you. The backup quarterback is Geno. Right? Wait. I mean, hold about it. He's saying that you're going to be like a quarterback. I guess. I guess. He's a backup quarterback. And you know what? We start talking about like what we're going to look like. And then one hit and then let your compare and let your team. We were at a third string quarterback. You know, and the giant sign is extended this guy. And you're talking about picking up a guy from Cleveland, picking up a guy like God, Garoppolo. Why are you extending them then? They're in ridiculous. This guy should, I get it because there's a difference already. There's a difference between being a quarterback for 15 weeks and being, hey, can you come in and finish a game or come in and play two or three games? There's a big difference there. But if you rather have Garoppolo then, then you're Winston, then you made a mistake for signing it. Well, I don't know that. I'd rather have Garoppolo than Winston. But remember, Arty, you didn't go into the same thing.

11:06You didn't, you didn't resign Winston thinking the Jackson Dart was going to be lost for the season either. Nobody, nobody goes through life like that. I, I get it. And then the thing is true with, uh, with Cleveland coming in, if you're not being Cleveland at home, then what are we doing? What are we doing? I mean, sorry, Arty, don't worry about, don't worry about Cleveland. You still got two more, worry about Sunday. You know, Sunday's going to be difficult. You're very, very difficult. I'm not sure. And then, you know, when did Chicago, I mean, if you go up against, yeah, what's his face? Tyson Beijing or their case, can't, you should win the game. Can't, they scored 39 years old. They scored three points last week at home. And then the purple people leader defense, three points. Yeah, that's, that's not a game that you can't win. Of course not. And if you lose these two games, I mean, I mean, that's, that's not a great look for the day. Dave, let's face it, even if Caleb Williams goes on IR tomorrow. And like, we know he's not playing next week.

12:08Jets will still be underdogs in that game. It might be, it might be like a pointer to, but those will be underdogs. 100%. By the way, for those that'll be watching, which I mean, everybody's going to watch the games, Jets get drew breeze in the booth. I'm back to back weeks. Really? Yeah, because they're Fox games the next two weeks. And it's the, who is a breeze this partner? Adam Amin, this week. But next week for the Chicago game, Adam Amin gets shuttered off the baseball. So I think it's Tim Brando. They said it's going to take over for him. So Brando and Breeze next week in Chicago. How, how do you know this? I mean, I could say something really snotty and snarky, but I won't. No, it's notty to me. Or they, whatever. I mean, but I, let's, let's put it this way. It came across my purview. How's that? 13:09Like, you know, Adam Amin's schedule. You know what he's got going on. You know, Tim Brando is sliding like it's impressive. Yeah, it's a lot of knowledge. I guess, I mean, I don't know. And then you get Jets playing bolt at one o'clock on Sunday. I, you know, I know we've been doing this for years, but you and I grew up and, you know, a lot of us grew up in a different time. I still can't warm up to that. I just can't. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Well, because I like to concentrate on the Giants number one, of course. And then I like to concentrate on the Jets. I like, I wish they would play it all three times. Oh, you might like think about it. They're people that grew up like young fans that don't even know what the hell we're talking about. What was your game last week? They played the commies. That's right, commies. No, it's a time like, listen, it was very bad against the giants and it had not great moments against the commies. Yeah, because I, that's right. It was Monday or Tuesday. I went back and watched this game because obviously I missed it live. And I told them I say the big takeaway is that they, they were, they were, You caught a couple breaks. Yeah, the big takeaway is that they had troubles finishing on sacks and keeping running quarterbacks in the pocket. So bad week to try to fix that because you're playing the ball. Yeah, you're probably playing the best guy in the league for it. Yeah, but you got the right for it too. I don't think it's nearly as bad as last year. I think it, I think it'll get better as it goes along.

18:19I think you should have. It's a conflict. It's a real concern. It's a complicated scheme and they've got a lot, a lot of young guys playing and learning. I do think they're going to, they're going to, they're going to be, it's not going to be all world. Do you still expect the postseason? Remains to be seen because it depends on how well it improves. But I'm offensively, I know they can score with anybody. They can basically score at will. That's not a problem. It's going to be it if they can keep games, you know, from routinely going over 35 points. That's really amazing. That for the Cowboys to have a real chance to win the defense needs to hold the teams to like 28 points. It shows you where we are in the NFL. All right. Let's get back to the calls. 809-193-776. Ira, statin island. Good morning. Ira, how you doing? Hey, good morning, D&D. So two things. Before I get to the Jets, I'm dead. I feel very about the Giants with Dott. Thank you. But you know, once you go, I don't care what team it is.

19:21You're going to back up mold and let's catch something like the Giants in 90 with House Stetter. You kind of, you got to reevaluate and you want to be looking for different things and how much you're going to win. But I think to be honest with you, I think you've got bigger problems with the defense than Winston. I think Winston could give you 68 points. It's the defense. You get more of a problem. But as for my Jets, it was a problem. I think the secondary is a huge problem. And I've been very disappointed in the past rush so far through two games. Your number one pick kind of looks a little bit like you swimming out there too. Yeah, which I don't think is that unusual to, you know, it's almost, you know, it is like literally and I mean, it's just like he's there. He's just there. Athletically, you could see how talented he is and it's going to take him a minute to kind of to learn the game. Why'd you hang up on Ira? He didn't even make his point. It's time to like you were done with him. No, why would you do that? He even made, he almost made no point. You went on the line. I was called to speak again.

20:21That's probably the longest I've heard Ira say silence because he called them and mentioned the giants. He said, I'm sorry. Dark God hurt. And you were like, okay, we're done with Ira. That's probably all you cared about anyway. No, you know, don't, don't do the, the oaky doke and blame this on me. Davey thought we were in the friends. Call back, Gary. I thought we were your friends. He spoke back already. RJ, when you talk to Ira was like, why did they hang up on me? He thought the phone died. Because he didn't even make his point. All right, let's bring him back. I said, I'm, I'm sorry. That was Raymond. He was done with you. We were not. I apologize. I love him. I run those, I got nothing but love for the guy. I'm sorry, I apologize for that. It's so good. There's nothing to apologize or good. I would to get stuff. I'll make a real quick, I mean, game touched on it before. You don't want this to be a track meet. We're going to really learn about Aaron's defense or superpowers and the defense. It's just, after watching part of last night and seeing the packers lose their debt as

21:22they did, I, now I don't know what to take out of last week. So I, I think if the Jets are keeping in the louts for me to have a shot, if this game is, you know, getting close to a 30 point game, I just don't see just Jets saying this game. I just don't see it. The line's offense is really a problem. Thanks for the call. Now you can hang up on an IRAman. Their offense is a real problem. And it's good. Yeah. It'll be interesting to see too with Detroit because they've had so much time with that. It's never feels like that Thursday night game in Buffalo felt like it was a month ago. How bad was their defense at night? It was terrible. And like say what you want to me, like all those points and yards that they put up in the second half, those are like empty calories to me because the game was over. I agree. The game was over. But even so, you know, St. Brown is terrific. The good offense is, is, is terrific. Absolutely. But here's the other thing like I was talking about the packers. I don't know what to think. You know what I think or what I know. Dude, it's a week to week league. Like nothing more, nothing less. That's what this is a week to week league. Look at Baltimore. Everybody was, oh, they don't miss John Harbott all after week one when they killed the Colts.

22:25Then they come home last week and get beat by the Saints. And nobody thinks much of the Saints, but maybe they should because they've shown that a top-down. I don't think they're bad football team by any stretch. No, and finally they're not. Look at Detroit. They're one play away from being 0 and 2. Correct. They couldn't stop the Saints once the Saints offense got going. They, I mean, if Buffalo said we were going to put up 60 points in that game, they, they could have. The defense is horrendous. And I know the Jets offense is not at the level that the great offense is around league are, but you still, I mean, Garrel Wilson is good. And Breesall is good. And there's no reason you shouldn't be able to control the clock, run the football. Geno can throw the football. You should be able to put up 27 points in this game. I think that's, that's out of the realm of possibility. The lines haven't played a 60-minute game yet this year, right? Like you said, because they jumped out to a 21-nothing lead on the Saints then went to sleep the rest of the afternoon in week one. And then last week, they didn't show up for the first half against Buffalo. Basically, their bed was made. And then they tried to get back into it. Defense stinks, Dan.

23:25Defense stinks. They stink. There's no reason the Jets shouldn't run the football effectively. And off of running the football effectively, in theory, you should be able to throw the ball downfield after that. But the thing about it too is, yes, run the football. You want to see them run it better than they did last week against Green Bay. That secondary for Detroit is so banged up. I want to see them push the ball down the field. You know, remember that too. You remember you able to, I mean, you should have 400 yards of offense in this game. No doubt. Remember you have weapons like Ken Yen Sedeek, for example. You know, like in the, in week one, you had enough usage for them. And then in week two, they kind of forgot about them, which didn't really make any sense to me. It didn't make sense. What's AD Mitchell? Is he going to play John's God of the Ow? John has them with no receivers this week. Well, that was surprising that he showed up with the finger issue when he was limited yesterday. We'll see Glenn talks, I think, around like 11 or something like that. So we'll find out. Jimmy Dixells real quick, Jimmy, you're on ESPN, New York. Great show. Those great show. Let's talk about once a first second. He's a big, strong guy strong on where's his blemish? He makes poor decisions, which means that a K maybe he's not the smartest guy in the world. So he's the back of last week.

24:27Maybe it's a new offense. Maybe he didn't plan. This isn't what I'm really hoping for. He didn't plan. He didn't read it and study. And now he's with the number ones. It's all on him. He's going to study hard. He's going to be prepared. We're going to run the ball a lot and we're going to see a completely different Winston. That's what I'm praying for. And if that doesn't happen, then yeah, let's go find another quarterback. But I don't think we're going to have to. I think this guy we paid him for a reason. I think he's going to plan and prepare and I think we're going to win. I got to tell you, Jimmy, and I don't think I'm like an overly optimistic giants fan. Dan, I don't think he's far off. You're going to get a much better version of James. You better. You better because I think certainly to us. Now I think it was twofold. I think it was the team you were playing. You walked into a buzzsaw last week. And number two, James Winston when he got on the field, he did look a little bit like that kid in class who got hit with a pop quiz and he looked at it. He's his baddest. I've ever seen him look. I'll tell you this. Billy, you watch him. Jimmy's still there. Yeah. Yeah. Ray, what you're not going to hang on.

25:27Anyone know you're going to go the other way. You know what? I love you Ray. Wait, wait. So the path he threw to fields that deep past, he'll should have caught that. Sometimes like that was a nice pass. And I was really upset that he was in catch that. I mean, he's new to the league, but he's, you know, but if he were to caught that pass, who knows? James, it's all in his head. He might have started to get more confident. I don't know, but the interception he threw on the post was awful too. That interception was terrible. Ray, can we say goodbye to Jimmy now? You wanted to co-host the show with us. All right. Just make it true. Just make it true. You know what? That was such a Rothenberg ask a moment for you because you had a blunder. And instead of just being like a mea culpa, you know what? For some reason I hung up on Ira quickly. I apologized. And I'll apologize again. But now to go the entire other way and now not say goodbye to any caller, that's so awful. I didn't hear words from Ira for almost a minute. I thought you were done in fairness. You guys, you guys were going back and forth. I thought you were finished. Okay.

26:28You weren't. Anyway, here's what I will say about the quarterback thing. Remember week one on that first game drew lock got zero first team reps. And he got called into duty and played a pretty good game on that Thursday. And I guess a picture in our own. And then then then then James Winston and then he went into Arizona last week. And I know it's Arizona, whatever, with a full week of practice. And he lit their ass up. Correct. Am I asking too much to James Winston would a full week of practice should not be able to play at least on that level? I agree with you. If James Winston doesn't look like a capable and a full quarterback this week, we have a real problem. Let me ask you a question right now. And it's ironic because he used to be here. Like you can have your choice. All things equal given where they are right now in their careers. I could give you drew lock is your backup or James Winston. What do you care? I'll take James. I mean, you have to care. I think that similar guys. Okay. I think they can both throw the football. I think that, you know, I think lock is more athletic. So maybe for the system, the giants run lock would be a better fit. I think that you can obviously win games or lock. And I think you can win games with Winston.

29:35He's everyone's favorite. He is Jordan Rennon. Hi Jordan. How are you? Well, tell the people. I did text you the other day before it was out that he was going to be after the season with exactly what it was. So you've been a great friend. I kind of fell on the sword earlier in the show. I said, I didn't return your call when I saw you call, but it was just because I'm not ready yet. Yeah, but I think everybody can see what this is though. What? If Jordan covered the New Orleans Saints, I don't think you have any interest in him. I'm just being dead serious. That's not true. Are Rennon my wrong or right? No. Jordan, you know that's not true. You think Dave is caring about Tyler Schuck and how he looked in practice on Thursday. He doesn't care. No, he wouldn't have that information. He doesn't. But while I would say, you know, Dave likes the information and he likes that I can fill him in on stuff. He does take care of me like my success at the station is all Dave. How? Because he got a platform. Yeah. Would you, would you, you pounded a table for him? I fight, I fight for my guys. You pounded a table. Listen, Jordan's my guy.

30:37Rick hates Jordan. I love Jordan. There's, there's a real man. Who's Rick? He's a lot of people, but who's Rick? He works at the station. He's the one that the Thursday host on the show. I didn't even need to make the joke. You took it. You did it for me. So he is like a layup. Jordan, you know what the thing that stinks so much about this, Jordan? You see the injury and you're like, oh God, this is awful. And then we learn, no, no, it's not going to be awful. It's guys, it's going to be fine. So you get your hopes up. Okay, it's three weeks, four weeks, five weeks. You know, look at the schedule. Winston can win some of these games. They're going to keep their head above water. They're going to be okay. And then after that, you learn, no, no. It's the torn, you know, MCL and PCL and he's going to have that surgery and meniscus involved. And now he's going to miss the entirety of the season. That to me is what made this whole thing so heartbreaking. Yeah, I mean, look, it's a rare injury because somehow there's ACL actually stayed intact.

31:39Usually you don't tear the MCL and the meniscus to the degree that he did and have your ACL stay intact. And that's like the one in the field where you can really, you know, diagnose that with the field test. It's pretty, you know, that's rather easy. They honestly thought he had probably an MCL, you know, sprain would be out several weeks. So, you know, who knows how long he would be out for. But, you know, that's why they do the imaging. And look, I was talking to Camp Scataboo yesterday. He thought the same thing. You know, like, him and Jackson Dart, that's what Jackson Dart told him. Like, you know, he wanted to go back into game. They told him it was better for him not to obviously, the doctors were like, no, no, no, you're not going back in. And then after the game, he's like, he said, oh, yeah, I'll be all right. But, and he goes and takes the test and it showed otherwise. And it is, it's disappointing that the season just loses so much. So much air was taken out of this. So much juice is gone now, right?

32:40Yeah. And it's like, I hear all these quarterback ideas. I mean, come on, what are we talking about? No. Like, what are we talking about? They just invested in James Winston. They just signed him to an extension. They made this evaluation. They thought he was, you know, the best or one of the best backup quarterbacks, they're not now going to go trade for a backup quarterback to play over James Winston. And let's be honest, like, all these names were saying, oh, Jimmy Garoppolo, but at least he's free, by the way. But like, what is Jimmy Garoppolo going to do against a tough schedule in the second half of the season if you have to play him every week? Gardner, Minshew, what's he going to do? Go two in eight. How many games are going to win with Gardner, Minshew? Like, what are we even talking about? But you have to have an insurance policy, right? Because it's sure. Unfortunately, like the definition of a backup quarterback is a guy who can maybe play a couple of games for you. If he plays every week, he becomes a starting quarterback. You do not give up an asset for that. No, any sort of real asset. Like, that is, you know, come on.

33:41It's the door, Sanders or Mac Jones. Like, these things that I'm hearing, even Jay-J McCarty, unless Jay-J McCarty is basically free, it doesn't even make sense. But you need another quarterback in here. You need to. That's what I was saying. Because James Winston's play may drive you crazy enough to where then you want, you can't send him out there because he's become a liability for you. But he's getting several games here. Of course. But my point is is when do you think, do you think they will maybe look to be more proactive and then go bring in somebody else who can step in aside from somebody named Jake Hainer? Yeah, it's get through this week and see what we're at. See how James plays, see what we're at. You know, Jimmy Garoppolo, Joe Millen, those make the most sense to me because they don't cost assets that affect your future. What about a flack over union with Harbour? Why are they going to get rid of Flacko? I'm just saying. It's worth a phone call. Why would the other, he's on what Cincinnati, right? Yeah.

34:42Okay. The Cincinnati bangles have an injury prone Joe Burrow, who by the way is complained about his back. Yep. Why are they going to trade Joe Flacko for a seventh round? No, they're not there. You want to give up a fourth round pick and third round pick for Joe Flacko? But you know, people always look at it from their own perspective. There's a big any sense at ease. You've won. Of course, it makes no sense. Zero. No, no, no, I don't know. Did you know, by the way, did you hear Joe Flacko comment on that? Yeah, I don't think I'm getting traded. He basically said that trade was. Yeah, he basically said people, because people text him and you know, people start rumors and he basically said how dumb it is. All right. So, James wins. This is true. He was Jordan and this was concerning. He was awful. Brutal. I don't believe he was that bad last year. I said last Friday with Dan. On the show, I said, I think he might be the best backup quarterback of football. Like, Mac Jones, like he is right up there. He was so bad. It was jarring. Was that didn't expect to play? Playbook was not set up for him. I'm not going to see that again, am I?

35:43I think that was James Winston got flustered to be honest with you. He started off poorly and just couldn't get it. And this is part of what the James Winston experience is, right, David? You see it even at practice every now. James Winston fires a perfect pass in a tight window between two guys, 30 yards down field and you're like, holy cow, what a throw, right? And then the very next play, he's throwing a five yard pass, a swing pass to the running back and he over throws the guy by 15 yards. Like that inconsistency is part of his game. That's why James Winston is the backup quarterback to be fair. Because it's only he hasn't had opportunities to be a starter in his league. He has. He's not consistent enough to be a good winning starting quarterback. I mean, go look at his career record. His career record says he's a losing starting quarterback, right? So I think that's kind of what you get with James. There's all over the map. Now that was the low end of the spectrum. Detroit last year was the high end of the spectrum, right?

36:44He played excellent in that game. He was really good. He even ran the ball. He caught a touchdown, ran over a dude and stiffed arm, down the way to the end zone. Like, he played really well in that game. So there's a wide range of outcomes with him. And that's kind of what you have to expect. There's going to be games here where he plays pretty well. And there's going to be games where he looks terrible and he throws the ball to the other team. And but the other day was like, I think that was just the bottom of what you could have. Yeah, that was jarring. Like they they call the screen pass. All they needed was like eight yards. They probably would have got a field goal attempt. He over threw the guy by 15 yards. They rolled him out. All by himself, either he can run or throw to, was it the, it was Theo Johnson and he basically grounded the ball at his feet. Plus there's one thing like you said, but I think also like we were using analogy, it looked a little bit like the kid who was, you know, caught off guard by the pop quiz and he didn't study for the test. Yeah. Well, I don't know if that would have, that's what it was because I mean they had plays there to be made. He just didn't, for some reason he was throwing the ball so inaccurately that how about the

37:47one where he threw it at moving feet? Yeah. Imagine if Miles Garrett was coming out of him in that game, but I don't understand how is that not preparing? That's just not making a throw. He's a quarterback. You just got to make that throw. You make like he was, I don't know. He was, he seemed flustered to me and just never, never got on track. The giants were a mess in that game. And look, you know, somebody said to me afterwards, he said, you know, that roster, you know, a coach who watched their first two games because they were on prime time for the team. He's like, they're well coached, but that team that roster still has some holes and you saw that against the Rams. I mean, the safety position with Tyler Nubin, the cornerbacks really had no chance, right? The run defense and the depth there. The lack of really explosive weapons aside from elite neighbors who's still coming back from injury. Those things do exist with this team and that's why you're not going to go mortgage anything for you shouldn't at least mortgage anything, anything big for a quarterback to be like,

38:50we got to make a run this season. Right. So that doesn't make sense. That's why make a run with dark. They're not going to make a, a, a massive run with, we know that, but did you heard the rhetoric that, of course, it's silly, silly. All right. Walk us through. We know dark's done. We know he's done for the season. Walk us through the other three massive injuries. Malik, Brian Burns and Andrew Thomas. Yeah. So Brian Burns yesterday is still walking with a pretty bad limp. He's in a boot. He was not in a boot when I got high ankle sprain or low on ankle sprain Jordan. They've said low ankle sprain. So I'm going to take them at their word for that right now. John Harboff so far has been honest about injuries. We'll see. But he said low ankle sprain. So Brian Burns, if he can play like whenever his, his foot tells you that dude will go on the field, even like if he's limping around and if he can, if he's any chance, he can play. Now, I don't see that being this week. You're probably to throw in the towel this week. Andrew Thomas is the one that we have to watch and is the biggest concern.

39:53Malik neighbors, he looks good to go. He looks fine so far. I mean, obviously we'll have to see what happens when he lands on the shoulder and he takes a hit. Right now as we stand, that's the least of their concern. But yeah, if I made a list, we made a list, Dave and said, who are the most important players on the Giants? We did. That's where I show. Those are the four guys. I mean, I got you three and four. I get it. I get it. Do you think that the game plan talking about James Winston, how this offense is going to look different, given the fact that there's a Norrister barreling down on the area, do you expect that it will be a little bit scaled back given the elements instead of, hey, James, go out there and let it fly all afternoon. Well, I think the Giants wanted to be a run first team, which accent are. They wanted to be a big physical power run first team anyway. With the backup quarterback now in, who by the way, isn't as mobile, takes away a little bit of the offense, right? You're not going to be running RPOs left and right. I mean, maybe one or two here or there every few weeks, but that part of the offense has

40:56to be thrown out. This team is going to power run the ball and then work, play action deep balls off that. What does James do? What is the one? What is James's best ability? He has a big, powerful arm, the ability to throw the ball down the field, push the ball down the field. So that's what the Giants are going to be. Maybe even more so than they were before. Like that's what you're going to see. He's going to be a passenger. He's not the conductor. Oh, by the way, yes, I still have the conductor hat. Oh, good. Maybe wear that one day for us. But yeah, he's going to be a passenger in this and they're going to try to run the ball and bleed the clock out and then hit a few big deep passes off that. That's what they're going to do. They're not shy about that. All right. Last one, we'll let you go. We got rich to me, waiting in the wings. I have said all week and a lot of the guys are like, oh, I don't know. I don't feel great about that. The Giants are going to win this game. The Giants are going to, they're going to round the troops. I think they go out there. I think they win. I think it's not all that competitive with seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

41:58Do you echo this sentiment or are you of the mindset that this is going to be a real dogfight? I would have said that if you told me Brian Burns and Andrew Thomas were definitely there and they were going to be playing and I have serious doubts about both of them right now. I don't know. I think it could be, I think it's going to be a tight game. I still do think the Giants are going to be able to, you know, like I said, play that philosophy of run the ball, play physical, wear the Titans down and they probably will win. But I'm not as confident and I was a couple of days ago. Maybe that's for sure. Great. All right. There's been a really uplifting conversation. How did you handle this week? I've been traveling a lot. It's been a rough week off from my then-nighters. I've been short week all nine yards. Well, you know, we did the show Tuesday. It's like, oh, don't worry. He's going to be back. And then Wednesday is like, great. Now he's out for the season. It's been a really awful week for me. I'm not going to lie to you. It's been a horrible week. You have a tailor made opponent this week, like we talked about. They stink and they're horribly coached. Giants are going to win. You'll see Jordan. Mark, okay. Giants win.

42:58Because if they don't, forget it. I'm gone. It's going to be a long season. So if they can't win this game, it's going to be a real long season. Thanks Jordan. You just want to stay afloat. Be around three and three after six games here. And at least you can like have a chance. That's it. Have a chance. All right. We'll talk to you. Thank you, Jordan. All right, guys. Let's move from the Giants to the Jets and bring in the great Rich Simeone and the Rich Simeone report brought to you by Super Bowl 61. Good morning, Rich Simeone. How are you? Good morning, gentlemen. How you guys doing? Hey, Rich. I'm doing terrible. I've had a really long rough week. I'm not doing as terrible, Rich. Yeah. Yeah. I thought about you, Dave, when it happened and look, it's the dark side of the NFL. It sucks for the fan base. Get fans went through it three years ago with Rogers. So it's awful. I know. I know.

43:58I know. Every fan base has been through it and it makes it no easier for me or this fan base. Rich, I was pretty vocal. A lot of people were somewhat defensive of. I thought Aaron Glenn at the end of that game was just making some head scratching decisions. Did you feel the same way? Well, certainly the one at the end of regulation where he basically gifted the pack of a free hail Mary by not choosing to take a time out with a minute left. I thought that was mismanaged for sure. Yeah, absolutely. You know, taking the ball at the beginning of overtime, I prefer to get it seconds. I mean, you look at the data and it's like a 50-50 proposition, although there really isn't a lot of data. This has only been going on for one plus years under this system. So take that for what it's worth. I would have taken it second, but I'm not going to kill him for that. Some of the play calls, you know, the end of the first half is inexcusable. You're holding the ball for four minutes. You can't get across midfield and you don't even get a shot at the end zone. That was like moving in quicksand. So yes, there were some glaring o'clock management miscalculations by Aaron Glenn in this

45:01game. And a little contradiction, too, right? And trying to explain it, I think it's pretty evident to where, you know, on one hand, we're trying to win the game. We're trying to win the game was the edict as far as going forward on fourth down at midfield, but then not taking the timeouts either at the end of regulation there. So it's like you're trying to win the game, but then you're not giving yourself any time to win the game. That one needed to be explained a little bit better. So again, this is still a work in progress. Obviously, I said earlier in the show, Rich, he's going to get a lot of credit for the way the defense is playing. I mean, that's looking like his superpower, but there are still some other things that you need to maybe tidy up as far as wearing both of those hats. Head coach being the most important one. Yeah, there were some mixed messages. I mean, it's interesting that, you know, who they played this week in Dan Campbell, who's like the ultra aggressive fourth down coach. And, you know, when they hired Glenn, I thought he would be some of that as well, but, you know, at times, you know, they're going forward on fourth and one from the 50, which I did not agree with, but he's going for the win there.

46:01But then, yet at the end of the regulation, he doesn't want to put his offense back on the field. So, that was like an ultra conservative playing not to lose. So, you're right, Dan, some mixed messages. And the defensive part, yes, he's done a good job. I mean, it's only two games, but they are ranked number one in defensive yards allowed. So I take that with a grain of salt right now. I don't think they've played a good offense yet. I mean, you saw the Packers last night. They struggled. And they got some serious offensive line issues and the jets beat up on the Titans, who I don't, you know, they're quarterback plays below average to say the least. So I don't think the jets have been truly tested on defense yet, but that will change on Sunday. Oh, I don't change big time on Sunday. And also, you're going up against a defense for the jets that, I mean, you know, the line's defense. It's just bad. Yeah. And this is not the week that you can be ultra conservative and try to eke out, you know, one points and you need to put up points. Like you need to have 400 yards of offense, like going into this game, which I need to

47:04see 27 points for the jets in my mind to have a realistic chance to win this game. Is that realistic that the jets offense is, is, because that lines, defense stinks. Can the jets offense be really good this week? Yeah, I mean, they can get 27. I mean, when they've come close to that, you know, the lines are average in 31. So you got to figure they got to be right in that neighborhood. I think the best defense for the jets this week will be a ball control offense and just trying to get back to what they did against Tennessee and just control the ball and run the ball, which they obviously could not do against the Packers. They have to try to reestablish that in this game. And I do think someone asked Aaron Glenn on Wednesday about, you said something like, this is not going to be a 13, 10 game. And Glenn kind of looked at the reporter like, what do you, you don't want to concede anything? But I do agree with you, Dave. I think this is going to be, for the jets to win, they're going to have to get at least 27. And I do think they can score against this line's defense, which really has just been decimated in the secondary.

48:04You know, for goodness sake, they have Chuck Clark, the former jet, who really didn't do much with the jets starting at safety now. Their regular safeties, Branch and Kirby Joseph are out. So the jets have a real opportunity to do something. I will make this note. Add my Mitchell showing up on the injury report yesterday with a finger injury. There was no explanation from the team. Aaron Glenn doesn't talk on Thursdays, but he will today. I'm hearing that this could be a serious injury. I mean, you know, this might not be just like, you know, a sprained little thumb. It could be a little more serious than that. So Glenn will be talking in a couple of hours. Hopefully we'll get more of a clarification on that. But I think there is some concern around the jets about that injury. On that note, so now you're searching for as many weapons as possible on offense. And the Kenyan Cedic usage, I think a lot of people were a little puzzled by that. And I thought it was interesting, but Frank Reich said yesterday when you met the media, because you know, Rich, I think we were all kind of surprised the way they used him in week one that he was a big part of the game plan.

49:04And Frank Reich said, well, yeah, we thought we'd have to bring him along slowly. But then we saw him on the practice field and said, no, wow, let's, let's throw everything at him. And then his rationale for not using him as much in week two was, well, he's only had basically like a week or so of practice. So it's kind of like one hand one week, the other next week. I just don't know what's going to be the plan for week three here. Is he practicing enough? Is he not like what's going to be the story this week? You know what I'm saying? Yeah, Dan, I think with regard to not yesterday was specific to the possibility of using him as like a push push. Oh, a push push. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. My mistake. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think you know, whatever we'll sneak you on to call it, I, someone asked that question because if he gives such an athletic guy, he actually played a full back in high school. So you know, someone asked that question and said, look, he, you know, he's basically been only practicing a week or two, you know, so they didn't want to throw that on his plate. But in terms of, it's a legitimate question about his usage in the passing game for sure.

50:08I mean, they hit him early last week against the Packers and they kind of ignored him for most of the game. You know, I thought the passing game plan was a bit curious in this game. They weren't really a lot of three wide receivers and not as many tight ends as they did the previous week. And I think Sidita guy, you got to get the ball to certainly get a Wilson only had seven targets last week. In fact, he was only targeted twice after his third quarter touchdown. I think he was certainly frustrated by that. He left the locker room immediately after the game when he get a chance to talk to him, which is very uncharacteristic for Garrett Wilson. So he was frustrated. And yeah, so Frank Reich, look great in week one, not so great in week two. And I think this week is a chance for a real bounce back because as we just talked about, the Lions defense has some severe hold of it. Yeah, they're very bad. All right, Rich. So let's get to the part where you really make your money. Game on Sunday to the Jets fond of it, wouldn't it? Yeah, no, I don't, not this week, guys. You know, I think I think they will score points. I do.

51:09I just think the Lions will score more. I think this is going to be a big challenge for the Jets defense. Chalens didn't waste. They haven't been challenged before. The Lions can attack you from anywhere on the field. You know, Jemir Gibbs out of the back field. Look, you and everybody knows the names. You know, and so I think the Jets secondary, which has actually played pretty well so far. Azy Thomas has been a pleasant surprise. I do not think if his Patrick will play this week. I think he'll miss his second straight game. But Andre Cisco did a real nice job last week. I thought it was probably his best game as a Jets, but this is, they're going against a real quarterback this week and a team. You know, the Lions offensive line, I don't think is what it used to be, but I still think there's enough skill position and talent plus playing at home. The noise factor coming off a loss. I'm going to take the Lions in this game, you know, something like 31, 27 or something along those lines. I think it'll be fairly high scoring, but I don't think the Jets are going to be able to slow down that offense. All right, Rich. Well, we appreciate it.
