Welcome to another prequel this time I'm joined by the lovely Inglaloon. Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, that means hello there, hello, it's whitish and we will be exploring some of Serenella's backstory today actually we will that's what we'll do after the ringer you wouldn't have a bus computer. It's just how do we like? So Serenella? Yes, hello. She left will go behind. She did? After she split with her family after you left left home like left him with this good kind old lady that was going to take care of him for you. Well that was the that was what I thought. Yeah, that didn't happen but anyway between that and ending up in a cage up his
stone shore when you when you joined the band of force some stuff must have happened on the way like all right. Yeah, let's find some stuff for Serenella to be up to during that travel up from Belifar up to stone shore right. Absolutely. Let's do that. Alright, let's go on a prequel adventure. Ah! Heave a la! Hey! Hey! Oh, super bad! Yes, that's our edymurphy impression of edymurphy impressioning James Brown. That's a very poor impression of James Brown. I might as well add. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, sorry if we brought you out of immersion for a while there. It's a man's world. Yeah, so you're on the road and you are actually traveling across the plains where the Aslin,
you know, the horse people. Oh yes, yes, like like like like like Vanny's, yeah, his his folk. Traveling over plains where they were they ride. The people are overly attached to their mothers. Yeah, I thought we could say horses but horses and mothers. Yeah, exactly. Yes, both in a very non-sexual way. Of course, of course. And yes, we're on day four of Nootri and here. So if we are a bit giggly, you know why? Giggly, tie a tight giggly. Yeah, yeah. So it's a beautiful beautiful spring day. And you, yeah, you're walking across this this land. These people seem friendly enough. And you offer to help out with some, you know, some stuff. Fushing the horses. Fushing the horse. Oh, maybe not tending to the horse but other stuff like shopping firewood or whatever. Of course. Yeah, in exchange for food because you don't,
I mean, you didn't bring much cash with you. No, no, no. And you're not much of a hunter either. I'm not much of a hunter and maybe I feel gold coins and of course my sword that's not much on my self-know. Yeah, just an ordinary sword now. Not you don't have Asuna yet. And not nope, I just have the the little one. Yeah. Sorry. They've already fallen off the floor. I'm sorry. Sorry. Yeah. So you're in this village. They are traveling in with, yeah, like you're like tents because they're nomadic folk. In my head, the Asline are, if you would compare them to some kind of people in in history or literature, for me they are Mongol Ish. And this, this tribe of Asline have been very friendly to you. They mean they, they want some help with shopping some fireworks, with pulling the ropes to, you know, set up the Yords,
you came there just as they were setting up camp. So yeah, they need a lot of help with, you know, pulling ropes and banging in stakes and around. So, Arnallas, she's a real little helper. Yeah. And she's very strong. So she's, yeah. At first when she offers to help, they're like, what? You want to help us with, no, you can't, you're so small. And then you, I don't know. I proved to them very quickly that I, how do you prove to them how strong you are? Well, what I first do is, I can see that they're having problem pulling up one of the Yords, because it's quite, quite heavy to the heathen, isn't it, heavy. And also to, to, because the ground there is pretty dry and pretty dense. So to hammer down the pegs is quite, it's quite hard. So in the biggest year, I think, where the, sort of, the leaders of the tribe,
sort of speak, have their abode. So Arnallas sees that they're really struggling. And you're swaying to unfroar on nearly collapsing. Some of them maybe drops a rope, you don't know. Yeah, they, so they, they drop a rope and it's just about to collapse. And she, Serenella rushes over there and she quickly grabs one of the, one of the ropes. And in one swing, she manages to pull the whole yurt up. Yeah. And then she picks up the hammer. Tight as a rope, picks up the hammer. Tight as a rope with one hand. Yeah. And then takes the hammer with the other hand and she just bangs the peg in. And there it is, in a matter of a few seconds. Yeah. And everybody just stops in their tracks. It feels spectacle. Yeah. They just stop in their tracks just looking at, like, at Serenella and go, well, you're welcome to stay for a while if you want to, of course. Oh, thank you very much, much, I'd like to. Yeah, you could go banging the rest of the pegs,
perhaps? Sure. Like, I can do all of them if you want, no problem, no problem, it's hard. So she's running with a short little leg and just, jump, yeah, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, yeah. All right, so yeah, the campus is up. She's just been, and then she stays for a day or two with them, maybe because it's nice to, you know, it's nice food as well. It's nice food, it's nice food, yeah, and maybe, maybe food was a bit scarce a few days before you met them. Oh, yeah. And you, you needed to, you know, and she's grown up with barely any sort of, like, they would just throw her scraps. Yeah. Her and William scraps. So nice food, nice company. Yeah. But all of the sudden, you hear the thundering of hooves. That's not to be surprised, of course, because these are horse people, but you've everyone quickly sees and notices that the people riding in are indeed not a sling, but a gang of iron guards from the Rust Brothers. Oh, sir, another doesn't know where
they are. She's never seen Rust Brothers. Exactly. No, you don't. I don't think she's happy even heard of who I don't think the Rust Brothers go as far down as barely far actually. So, but she can see the people around her getting scared. Yeah, they're getting like, yeah, the the warriors are getting their weapons out. And, you know, people are hiding the children and stuff like that. So yeah, hi, your children. Hi, you gold. Hi, everything. Yes. Yes. I was some sort of film reference and something like that. I can't remember which one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, so the iron guard like rides in and there's kind of a standoff. A moment, there's a few months of silence. As the iron guards, the iron guard captain looks over the camp and the the warriors are all clutching their weapons. Ready. But no one seems to be like drawing steel just yet. It's just very tense silence about the place. So they're both standing there staring at each other, the Rust Brothers and the
Asli. So Sarah Alla goes to one of the Asli that she's been sort of talking to a bit. Yeah. To the sort of whispers through the corner of her mouth to this this is leading present called Asli. Hmm? Asli. Asli, the Asli. Yes. And she whispers to the corner of her mouth. Asli. Asli. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Oh, are these people? They're the Rust Brothers. The what now? The Rust Brothers. Are they full of rust? What's the matter with them? Oh, they worship the God Rust. The God Rust? How they want everyone else to do so as well. And even refuse they sacrifice you. Are we supposed to be scared? Yeah. They're they're really hardcore. What if they don't like so far like in the lands? I mean, if a tribe isn't able to fight them off, they kill everyone or take them as slaves and sacrifice them and and sacrifice their blood to their evil God Rust. Well,
that was not very nice. It sounds a bit like my parents really. She just she she's been like looking at the rust brothers, the iron guards, during this whole conversation, just like also in the corner of her mouth whispering with you, but she just stops staring at them and starts staring at you instead of saying what again? No, never mind. Never mind. Just like I I've had your mother and father sacrifice you. No, well, sort of. Yeah, it's a long story. Anyway, I know even when I say it. Sort of speak. Yeah. Yeah. So so these Rust Brothers then like what so do you mean like we're just gonna stand there and watch them kill us? Is that what? I don't know. Let's see, let's see what everyone's doing. All right. Okay. Well, I'll just I'll just wait for a few minutes and see if someone does something. I'll be quiet now. The captain of the iron guard removes her helmet and she
looks over the village. She says you were all living in Sinanchu come to the fold of Rust and join us, won't you? Yes, Lee. Yes. Are we supposed to say something? I'm sure she expects us to say yes, but we will never. We'll keep shot. Yeah. Yeah. And good. So everyone agrees then. That is good. No. So Sarah and Ella all of a sudden this thing comes out of she didn't know where the no came from. She just came out of her mouth. She just says very clearly and loudly all of a sudden she the courage is even surprising to her. No. The captain slowly turns her head towards you and says ah one of the small folk. I'm hafling I am not not that small.
You do not want to follow us into the grace and love of Rust. I don't want to follow in the tracks of evil. Oh Rust is not evil. Rust is eternal. Rust is powerful. Don't you want power little one? Only if it's for the God. What? What? Yes, it's for the good. Come join us. You may ride behind me if you want to. No, thank you. I like to stay with these fine people here and I would like you to leave them alone. Leave them alone? What do you mean? Well they're good people and they're doing no harm. They're just sitting up. I'm sure they are very fine folk and they will serve Rust very well or their blood will. Okay, Sarah and Ella steps back a bit and she ponders for a
bit. Ashley, she says. Are you mad? I was just thinking I mean they're quite a few of us, right? And you all got swords or a javelin or something don't you? Yes, we all have weapons of some sort of all the other but we cannot fight them. They are trained soldiers all of them. Look, they even have some misgrown over there if my eyes are not mistaken. Or indeed some riders with forearms, some riders with overgrown heads or horns sticking out through the helmets. Well, I might do something. I don't know. Some things come over me like this anger, this fury is just I can feel it in my stomach. I've never felt it before. It's just boiling, boiling inside. So we are in agreement then. You will be followers of Rust from now on.
Sarah and Ella feels this anger just bubbling up and she doesn't know where this force is coming from. But she all of a sudden she just rushes up to the one who was speaking, the Rust brother who was speaking and she little as she is with the sword in one hand and a mad look in her face screaming from the top of her lungs. She charges towards this rust brother and she makes a big leap to attack him. Alright, let's first make a move roll to see it like you. How much of a high jump she is. Well, yes, it's just turning. Oops. Oh, it's success. Alright, yeah, she jumps up and like
does a back flip and then make the attack roll. Not too shabby, a few hits. A few hits, yeah. Let me roll for armor. Taking some of it away. So yeah, you don't kill her outright. She'll try and grab onto you. Yeah, she just as you go up there and swing your sword at her shoulder, her gong to the fist just goes out and grabs you by the throat. Oh, pesky little one. Feisty are we? That is good. Rust enjoys bold blood. Let me kill you little you you you bash through you you thicker. Let me go. Let me go. And she that finds it hard to speak because she's being choked by the
but she still has the sword in her hand. Yeah, right. So even though that this rust brother woman is choking me, I can still I can still stab her. Give her jab at it. Yeah, if you want him. Yeah, of course she goes for the you know, yep the throat. Yeah. There you are. Yeah, one push that. Yes, I do. I really do. One more two. Yeah, you swing at the captain. Let me roll the armor. You see that? Three skulls, no successes. Yeah, okay, so yeah, you just plunge your short sword through like a where there's a crack between the helmet and the breastplate and just you just shove your sword down her throat
all the time. It's so collable. Like, dush and twisted and blood just comes gushing out and of course she drops you, but because she's dying. I figured it's more true. From behind, you feel four arms just grabbing you so that you would not hit the ground. So she has you in her fist, you just shove the sword in through her throat and down into the chest and twists, pull out and the sword at the arm just goes limp her arm, that is not yours. And you're about to fall and then you just feel someone grabbing you from behind. And actually grappling you really, really hard. That was four successes on my part. So yeah, your wind just gets, you get winded, you get winded. The wind is pushed out of my lungs. Yeah, exactly. And you drop your sword and they,
someone else, like corporal or something, shouts. Was she acting on her own or are there more of you who wish to defy rust? Oh, don't you worry about our captain. We will bring her back. No one? Very well then. We will be back. And you're put on a horse and take it away. You're manacled. I'm swearing all the time under the breath. I'm going, it's F-E-C-K, by the way. It's fine to say. Yeah, that's totally fine. And she's just, Sarah Nala is feeling all the emotions she's never felt in her life of
anger and fury and remorse. She's thinking maybe that was a bad idea. Oh, why did I do that? Oh, something came over me and she's never felt that before. This fury, this anger that just was rising up through her. So she's her halfling qualities and goblin qualities just coming out of her. Yeah, exactly. And a lot of F words, a lot of F bumps. Oh, yes, yes, yes. Yeah. And you're taken, the only right away for maybe two hours before they make camp or they're riding back to a camp that they had, rather. And you see the body of the captain that you got to, no, not got to, but cut the throat off. Yeah. It's laid down and then a hooded figure comes out of one of the tents and goes over to the captain and goes over to you. You did this. Yes, it was me. I admitted. He takes out a rusty crooked
dagger and just cuts your neck a bit, wringing out some blood. Just a bit, okay? Yeah, just a bit. And then it goes over with that blood and that dagger places it over. The fallen captain starts mumbling in orderly and calling down the power of rust to bring this captain back to some kind of life. And after five, 10 minutes, you see the body starts twitching and then after another minute, the body just stands up again. Silent. Sarah Nala has her eyes absolutely wide open. She's never seen anything like it. She's never
seen anyone been brought back from the dead. And her jaw just drops and now she's starting to feel real fear, like real, real deep terror. Perhaps she's expecting this, this awoke and captain to go up to her and get some revenge. But as the captain stands up and the torch light is lighting her face up, you see that her face is completely black. Her eyes are still dead. Oh, so it's like a specter. Her body is moving. No specter is more inco-porial. This is more like a zombie might be one word to say. It's both back to life. The body is there, but there's probably no soul or an end to shell. But a shell with muscle power, sword power, and nonetheless.
Yeah, this newly awoke and captain of the Iron Guard just goes away as she passes you, doesn't even look in your direction. And you're still being held by this forearmed, misgrown monster. So Sarah Nella, she's got this little cut in her throat now that she's... Yeah, on the neck, yeah. She's clutching it and try to stop the bleeding a bit. You can't, you're manacled behind the back. Oh, I'm manacled, okay. So the warm blood just... Well, it would be a nice scar. It's gonna be a nice scar for sure. It's gonna be a nice scar for sure. But there's no, I mean it's not deep enough that you will bleed. No, so you're not gonna... For a blood out, from it. But no one makes any move to to put a bandaid or... No, of course they don't. So yeah. So she spends a few days with these
rust brothers, sometimes asking them, what are you going to do to be? Or... Yeah, she's sort of... She's debating whether she should join them to save her life. So she's debating. So she has this sort of inner monologue to herself thinking, you know, are they gonna kill me? Are they not gonna kill me? Like, I need to go back to get Willow at some point. Will go. Will go at some point. Not Willow, that's somebody else. That's somebody else. That's my cousin. That's your cousin. Yeah. I love it. We just saw the trailer the other day. Yes, so I just can't confuse there for a bit. And thinking, should I join them and then maybe, you know, get some power in this world and then maybe, you know, become fierce like them. But then for some reason she just remembers how her parents have treated her whole life and she's seen evil very close, very for a very long time.
And she has a real moment with herself where she decides that, no, she's actually gonna try and fight evil and do good and be violent where violence is needed. And she doesn't know how she's gonna do it, but she's going to resist. Yeah. Yeah. And that's how she ends up at Stone Shore, because they say this hooded figure says to her, perhaps you are wondering why we haven't killed you yet, because you are needed to set an example for others who oppose us. You will die in the next village, don't you worry. You will die soon enough, your blood will feed the power and majesty are rusts. What are you gonna do to me? I'm going to sacrifice you, of course. And your blood will pour out and join the blood of others and grant power to us through rust.
And even though you can't see his face, you can hear from his voice that he's almost becoming in a dreamlike state, almost. And that's how you end up in the cage in Stone Shore. Yes, because she resists. Yeah, she resists. Yes, and she, but it's a real sort of moral turn there, like that's when she decides the trajectory of her life. Yeah. And then she gets rescued by Odvi and Nissel. And she's sort of, that's a big risk, but she knew she was going to find some good people. Yeah, yeah. Which we did. Which we did? Yes. Yeah, that's it for this prequel. Yes, so now you know where, why is she gets this anger is, that's the first time she felt it. Was that the first time she went berserk, like completely berserk? Yeah, yeah. Before she's been, you know, but she's just been trying to survive with Vilgo, but now she felt this anger, which is, which comes in her
delay to run. Yes, it does. The fury of Seranella. Yes, you're right. Ro, you feckers. Okay, I had a fucking good time. Me too. Yeah, great prequel. Adding another one. So I look forward to doing more of FBL soon. Yes, we will next week or in one and a half weeks time, then we will continue the Forbidden Lands campaign. Finally. Unless the world brings us some kind of some some some shit we don't ask of yet unknown, but we hope not. So we'll have to be able to continue soon. Thank you for listening. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And we'll see you some other time on Swinner Rolls. Yeah.
