Like, now it feels like football Friday, like last Friday, it's like, okay, we had a couple of games, but we haven't seen our teams play yet. Now it's real, like it's a thing. It's happening. Oh, it, we're here. It's, it's actually actively here. And it's great and it's sensational. Oh, nothing like it. I got to interrupt you for a moment. Guys, shot better, no better. What do we think? First of all, that jaw challenge, he's good at football. Is it he's good at football or the line's defense is not good at football a little bit of both maybe I think both can be true Yeah, both come true. I mean this guy put up 36 against the the Texans. I know that their defense is good Yes, you're absolutely right about that one thousand percent so and then last night when they put up 41 something

3:03I mean he's he's he's unbelievable Well, it's funny at some point in that game. I think it was either late first or early second quarter The total yardage was something like 200 plus for Buffalo and like 10 for the lines 10 Yeah, the lines offense got going when it was almost like garbage time exactly like the lines defense could never stop The bills they could never stop them No, and RJ and I were talking about that before the show like you think about the lines defense like to me Like all right last night you can understand it because it's the bills. It's Josh Allen It's the home opener new stadium all that stuff to me It was still even more unforgivable what the lines defense did last week blowing a 21 nothing lead at home to the saints and Let them come back and very easily almost won that game at overtime Yeah, the lines could be over two and it's so funny So we have the the DNR group text last night of course John when he sees the lions looking so Shotty throws out there. There's no reason that just can't be the lines

4:03there's a and Okay, maybe but can I and what I saw from the jets in week one Dan was sensational Yeah, I see the jets this week first before I start saying they can be this team and they can be that team and they can And maybe they can I'm not saying they definitively can't but I don't I don't think after one week against the Titan So I think I think are going to absolutely stink that I can sit here and make a declaration that the the jets can be the lines No, I mean beat the Packers first then right talk about and you know what they may lose to the Packers And then still very well go beat the lines who knows maybe this is just gonna be one of those years the lines aren't very good Right, they're banged up like all hell on the offensive line to begin with they're losing guys and on defense You know missing branch among others in that secondary. So yeah, they're they're nicked up a little bit Absolutely, and I don't think the lions are gonna be a world beater their offense It can be very good and Jameer Gibbs is sensational, but I know you ever get this item moment last night I'm watching the game like man Gibbs is so good. I was like what What's his first name? You ever get that? Yeah, not with athletes necessarily, but like more so yeah, I did actually I was like wait

5:05I was like who's I talking about this morning where I said the same thing as like what's his name? Remember like we're called Crawford's kid Carl Crawford's kid because we were talking about what happened in the Met game last night I was that was scary. Oh my god. Was it scary? Yeah, that was I was really scary. So I'm like. Yeah, I like that Alex Alex Gibbs. I was like Johnny Johnny Gibbs and then and I totally put it to rest left it and then brought it back this morning And this morning I was like oh Jameer Gibbs. Yep. That's weird Jameer Gibbs. He's he is awesome and the lion's offense is good I mean St. Brown is a great player and cough is good and put there then I don't look at them as a legitimate threat And it's funny because we talked about this before the season started and I Looked at them as a pretty good team, but I didn't look at them as a team was gonna win the the NFC And then the odds came out for for the division They were like favorite to win the division which I thought to be curious Yeah, I never bought into that one because I think like you know Everybody kind of looks for the trends to reverse themselves from one season to the next Especially when you don't have like proven commodities in the NFL so with like that division

6:05You're like, okay, the Bears pulled all those games out of their rear end, you know almost in miracle fashion last year That can't continue can it you know the lions were this close to going to the Super Bowl a couple of years ago Well, they stubbed their toe last year. They're gonna be back to be an elite team blah blah blah You know, they almost think like the universe is gonna correct itself from one season to the next with some of these teams Yeah, but but here's the thing packers They didn't look very good. No, I don't even think the Vikings look great They might still have a quarterback situation might lions look like they have real flaws So we thought this was gonna be an unbelievable division maybe well, right? I mean, it's still very early we don't we don't definitively know but it looks like each team might have some legitimate flaws in the Bears who put up 59 their defense look like they never played defense before well That's a thing right? I mean like that that's been the theme of the NFL here offense offense offense For the first two weeks well one week plus one game of the season. I kind of hope that that doesn't continue I know some people like the offense. I like offense, but I I'm one of the few

7:07Like I enjoyed good defense course the good defense get to the quarterback hit the quarterback You know, I mean 59 points I can I can deal with that occasionally this you're right There's some people in this fantasy football world. They're just like 59 points a lot. No like once in a while sure Once in a while sure, but I don't need continued like huge I don't need teams to go score in 59 points like it's a video game if I wanted to watch that I'd go watch arena football Right or I'd watch the big 12 or something like that, you know defense is there for a reason But the NFL wants offense too. They like offense. They think that's what attracts viewership and cells and fantasy and all the stuff Like you said, but no there is a place for defense defense still But I'm not opposed to offense like like I said I just want some defense like like the teams that I I mean 85 bears Right, that was a great even to unfortunately the 2000 Ravens that was a great defense the 86 giants was a great defense Like I enjoy watching the Texans play defense now like watching them You know now I don't necessarily need the aFC championship game where it's very low scoring

8:13But it looks like the defense is fine, but the offense is horrendous. I don't need that But give me some give me some legitimate defense. Let's get to the quarterback Let's have some hard hitting like I don't need I'll buy any to video game Well see Seattle won the Super Bowl on defense last year Didn't they beat the hell out of Drake main the Patriots in the game right their defense won him that game the defense won That gave because San Daniels come out and said man. He wishes he had played better in that game right right? So yes clearly that was where they have to give the MVP to a running back They had no choice. You know what I mean pretty good in it his first it with games sitting huh. Yeah I mean my goodness, so Dan I don't know if you're familiar. Have you ever done? No, you're gonna yell me of course I don't remember have you done a football Friday with no never No, you never have never have in all the years never okay not once so not one Friday can I can I tell you what we have coming up sure Okay now or narrowly it would be Ranon at 7.35 but because the giants are playing Monday night. 9:19around the league All right RJ takes us on a tour and we go around the league buckle up. We're going around the league 8.30 The friend. Oh the hip and now he can't play but you know what was I mean if there was somewhat An advantageous element to that was cool But not cool You don't want to see anybody get hurt But what worked out for the bills was if a guy's gonna get hurt during pre game warmups like that Then you don't have to play with a man down then you just dress somebody else for the game You know, I mean like if he gets hurt Let's say first series of the game Well, you already set your roster for the game You know what I'm saying? So they were able to make the accommodations because they knew that he was down right right And actually showed during the game him warming up and then you could see it was like oh something is is clearly wrong So I wave a lot to do phone lines open is always 8091937 766 I didn't think we'd really talk much baseball at all today, but two things jumped off the page to me From from yesterday last night whatever firstly, I think and I didn't think this was the case even up until earlier this week I still fought this fight. I think the Yankees are done for the division right? Yeah, they're done. It's over

11:25And that's fine. You know what I'm saying like that's okay like there's still a path to accomplish everything they still want to It's just not gonna be as the division champs. They're gonna have to play three games Probably that gets you nervous because Boston's a tough team of course it does That's a three and what gets me nervous is you don't know the status of number 99 yet We'll get some more information today, but good luck going up against the team That's gonna throw all left these at you if you don't have number 99 god forbid when the playoffs start right now a couple things on that Firstly 99 hasn't looked like 99 no, which is understandable But you say like 99 like that's not Aaron judge he may he may put the fear of God into teams because he is still You know Aaron judge by name, but that was not Aaron judge that we saw out there on the field No, and those two last two weeks of the season like I said forget about the division forget about that I was looking at those two weeks is kind of like extended spring training for him and that's what it was all gonna be about Get this guy back in rhythm like he got that bad He got a hold of one in Minnesota the other night even though it was in garbage time But still that was important okay now use these whatever remaining time you have in the regular season get the rhythm get the flow back going for him

12:28But now with this injury until we get further word as to just how serious it is I mean that could throw a dent into what this team ultimately hopes to accomplish absolutely And then another thing with playing a best of three is that you're pitching is not set up the way you'd like right now They have they have great pitching But you know if I go into a series against the rays and I have to start with the redon instead of Cam Schlippler That's a that's a massive difference right there Well the way things are going right now right like you're five back and you and it might as well be six because you don't have the Tiebreaker and you're not gonna sleep somehow. I mean you were now at the point where the Yankees unequivocally have to Sweep that series against Tampa right there and they're not going to it's they're not gonna sweep before game series They're they're just not That being said so if the division is already decided by the time that Tampa series is either going on or finished Then you could lose those last couple of days of the regular season to set your pitching right the games don't mean anything You basically have the number one wildcard locked up already right that's locked up But you can't set your pitching my point is playing the red socks in a best of three now You can't set your pitching for for the rays while they're pitching set exactly the way they want and the Yankees will not have their pitching set exactly the way for

13:34Round two right correct. That's what I'm saying no round one your font you'll be fine It'll be so our Jake threw this into the into the mix today, which Rick and I like now RJ thinks free now I don't want to put words in your mouth. So you correct me if I'm wrong RJ thinks freed game to Yeah, I think that's on the table and Rick and I like no it'll it'll be cool and artistically better figure out this Home run issue. Yes, I would agree with that but the way he's been pitching you think that's a no I don't think that it's that outlandish Wow Dude's given up seven home runs the last two games seven oh you can't keep the ball in the yard I mean I could go up there and throw batting practice you can Yeah, now that the two games ago. I forget who they were playing They were just like solo shots and he was still okay. They'd met. He was maled But you know what what's weird about it like his whole career. He's been bad against the mits He's got like a seven lifetime the array against the mess I'm pretty sure it's a low his worst yard against any team. I'm not shit. I'm not saying it's a done deal I'm just saying it's on the table Yeah, I never thought that and it's interesting

14:35Free to Ben excellent excellent. It was the pot. It was the Padres game when he gave up back to back to back to begin the game Remember the first right right right? He was the game I put it was like back to back to back then he sailed down. He was really good. Yeah, he allowed one more home run And then and then they lost fine, but it but like the match he was awful Yeah, I listen I still think there's got clear path to him getting the ball game too All I'm saying is when he's saying post game. Yeah, I got some stuff. I got figure out that That more so than seeing the home runs and seeing the lack of production that we're used to That that set off more alarm bells to me of like oh he he's acknowledging even out of frustration I have to work on some things So there's a clear path to him getting the ball game too, but there's there's also a clear path to him not Look at my background or Jay it looks gorgeous. I mean does everything have to be about you. Yes Not everything, but who kind of question was that sorry? Sorry. The framing is nice, right? That's why we work so hard on the framing. 15:37Oh, I flipped over to MSG and I saw the background. I was like look at this. It looks unbelievable It's so much hard work. It's the same background. It's a different angle. That's what you're going for clear It looks good. It looks crisp. It's crispy. Like I said, you finally clean the lens. They finally clean the lens I just go ahead. So I'm sorry. 16:39I just like you know that that somebody's really having a rough hard way up for nothing today Um the meds another meds games are relevant the fillies needed it It doesn't mean anything to the med so I don't care about that Oh that Jared Young situation was very very Upsetting scary really really really scary. He was out He was out and like The and then they roll him over and he's got all the dirt on his it's just it looked awful And McLean was clearly I mean put yourself in McLean shoes You know, I mean you're just going over there trying to make a play and McLean is He's a big dude remember he went to Oklahoma state on a football and baseball stars a football player And that was a direct hit man Direct to anybody if anybody I mean and you're right McLean is a big guy But if anybody's running full speed and hit someone in the head that I mean That's going to be really bad head. It was such a weird game last night too Because I actually watch most of it because I like watching McLean pitch like you know me like you know how many like in field hits Philadelphia got like like the first run the only run that McLean gave up think about it

17:43It was with bases loaded a slow ground ball to short that lendore through to second to try to get the force out on the field There's choice to end the inning They originally called them out and then the fillies reviewed it And then it showed that what's his name beat the throw or the bag And that's how the fillies got their one run Crawford who hit the ball the play that Jared Young got hurt his previous a bat He hit another baby roller literally right up the first baseline that young had to come and meet him halfway and like tag them out You know halfway up the first baseline and he hits the same ball like the same spot virtually And two guys end up colliding which sends one to the hospital like it was it was really really scary let's get the update from the manager on where we are with Jared Young really scary He's since got into the hospital. He's had a CT scan Results have come back negative so in that sense. That's very positive still like experience and real concussion symptoms right now But has full use of his extremities and feels at this point in time like we've

18:43Avoided the scariest outcomes. Uh, it was a terrifying moment on a baseball field took him a while to come to really scary collision It really it really was terrifying and again, I don't care at all I did I barely watched the game. It didn't mean anything to me took me a while to even figure out what channel the game was on So I don't care about the result But that watching that it needed to be brought up and discussed today and uh you met him acclaim and his reaction Here's Andy Green. It's not a good job. By the way had a McLean react to what happened at first shaken New it was a really bad collision Still was willing to go back out the next inning Didn't feel that was in his best interest at that point in time Probably should have made a better decision not even let him get the next hitter But he was still strong enough to do it and got back out there and did it. He's a heck of a person It's a great competitor, but the humanity hit him pretty hard right there too I wasn't sure if they were if because remember that there that was only two outs in the inning And they had runners at the corner still and think about it like that happens from a human element how shook you are

19:45There was like a that had to be at least a 10-minute stoppage in the game That was a long time and and they would have been well within their rights if they said all right man We're going to the pen But like for him to then go back out on the mound I mean, I understand it's you know Maybe not some great monumental achievement But again when you factor in the emotions in just a human being for him to step out on the mound and to get that next hitter to get out of the inning I mean that's a job well done and then when they called it off after that with him You could understand why even though he was only at 70 something pitches and Dave He didn't even talk after the game like that's how should you tell you could tell yeah Really shaken this was not a baseball thing right like like like we were talking about the other day Don't they more didn't talk after the game makes no sense this makes sense. Yeah, this is a real life thing Um, and I'm glad that it looks like young's gonna be okay And you know what you you McLean hand of that the way you kind of hope a human being would Being that upset and that bothered by it. 21:48um You are obviously very impressed with week ones performance against Tennessee correct. Oh, how can he not be right? I mean Tennessee stinks, but you know what if Tennessee's a bad team there or whoever it is if you are even a halfway decent team You should go out there and smack them around and that's exactly what they did Well, that was my point last week is a lot of people like well Tennessee stinks. Okay, so what I mean if you're the Rams If you're the the Niners if you're the bills what when you play a bad team. What are you supposed to do against the bad team? Right you beat him up You beat him up, right? I mean, that's the mark of a good team and look. It's only one game But that Tennessee team isn't very good. They're not very well coached. They look awful They're horribly coached and I think that's pretty evident Um, and we kind of knew that the roster featured a couple of additions of guys to play in this town And that was a little bit of a head scratcher there and at least they're for one game They're oh for one and they got a lot of things to clean up and going into week number two It doesn't look like they're going to be able to fix all those things for the Eagles Which is a horrible matchup for them as well

22:50The quarterback leaves a lot to be desired and I don't think that they've got the right people They are to bring out the best football and him So yeah, I mean, it's kind of like gonna be deja vu all over again I think for Bob Salin the music city. Don't you think? I First of all, I'm actually now officially like not that I really care But concerned that camword is just not gonna be good in a fell quarterback Uh, you're not what have you seen he looks awful I mean last year he was awful you figure eight tickets step in year two and all the the rumblings of the room is You're heard coming out of camp from Tennessee was he didn't look any better now No, and now they give him carnal tape and they give him not that he's great but wandel Robinson like that like you should be better And it looked exactly the same last week that it did last season You saw a lot of a guy yesterday with I mean yesterday on Sunday A lot of the same things you usually see from a young quarterback is that he got too consumed with the rush And he was staring down the rush and that took away his ability to see the field to go through his reads and all that stuff And then what happened when the rush was in his face he took off and he fled the pocket You know hit that happened way too much on Sunday give credit to the jets

23:52But I think the jets you deserve credit absolutely But I mean, I don't want to make this all about Tennessee, but they got problems They got they they got a lot of problems Right, but I wanted to start at the conversation by by crediting the jets because that's what good teams do And I don't know the jets are going to be a good team. I'm not saying that but you Like a good team and it remains to be seen if you are a good team like a good team you took care of business in week one Right, and that's great They proved that they're not going to be one of the you know two three worst teams in the league like they were last year And you know that that's what kind of cracked me up about the summertime with everybody You know the national experts all thinking of you know all these like mock drafts already for next year and power rankings that They have them in the dolphins and Browns categories like they're not going to be that bad, you know I mean like this isn't 2025 and at least for one afternoon They showed you that there's teams are going to be a hell of a lot more soft than they are Well, I love the fact that they ran the ball. I love it You know and the giants did the same it's like be big be physical be nasty you have a good offensive line I don't think there's any two ways about that right like genos, you know

24:53We don't know exactly what we're going to get for him But the jets do have some real pieces on offense. I think that starts with the offensive line. So let's use that offensive line Right and they did that and they ran the ball effectively and they got the balls of the hands I mean you want the ball in the hands of your guys that can make plays and breeze holds one of those guys And they they fed him the football. I thought the jets called the good game I thought they played a good game That's what you're looking for if you're a jets fan 100% You know, they have playmakers on offense, you know the tight ends like they're not it's not just cliche when they talk to all off season about You know that tight end room is very talented. So what does Frank right do he goes out there and puts you know five tight ends on the field at one point in time You know, most drusters don't have five tight ends most don't keep four Most don't even keep four and so they went out there and he found ways to utilize the ball And yes, it contributed to the run game you saw how sedic and the thing about sedic which is interesting I mean you saw he scored the touchdown there on the jet sweep Remember he missed a lot of the basically the entire summer when he had the the herniest surgery right then he came back He re aggravated that thing and then shut him down for the rest of the preseason to her frank rike was like, you know

25:55I he we're gonna have to bring him along slowly, you know little little here little there as he gets his legs under him And then he said he saw him on the practice field as we he's like now the hell with that He's free rain and you saw that on Sunday when it came to the game plan Well, the nice thing is he's a legitimate athlete right Like he's a really good athlete and and it's nice to have Difference makers at the important spots of of playmaking positions and he looks good and Garrett Wilson is really good um Breeze hall like like the jets have three legitimate weapons offensively and truthfully Dan was the last time you could say something The thing that was the most impressive thing to me and was a lot of fun to watch actually that drive that they put together Bridge in the first and the second quarter which ended up being a 19 play 12-minute drive Which is like when when do you see that when do you see that you know only you really don't only Rutgers is on the field victimized for almost a 20 play drive Like you mastered to them in the opener right? So they go out there and then breeze hall begins the drive second quarter turns around You bring in the fresh legs in the battering ram of braille and Alan and a tire defense

26:56Which is sucking wind that I was talking to some of the guys and they said yeah They they could see that defense over there like die and then you bring in braille and Alan like I said it was a tank And they just continued ramming it right down their throats With the tight ends how about this you'll like this little nugget so They ran 11 plays on Sunday out of that 13 personnel, which is three tight ends right Three times they did it on the first drive of the game Three times they were in 13 personnel. You know many times they ran 13 personnel all of last season none Three three and the entire season the entire season and they did that on the first right Situation right yep. I mean Frank Reich is a and there's still I think and rightfully so like some question marks surrounding Uh Aaron Glenn, but you have a guy that is coach in the offensive. You know is good You know is capable. You know is competent and in week one you you saw that and you pass with flying colors like the office This offense and it should be good The offensive line is good Garrett Wilson is good breeze hall is good. I think Siddiq is going to be good right
